Introduction

Hi everyone.
As a TOTK dataminer, I already created at the launch of the game a data spreadsheet basically having all weapons, bows, shields, materials, armors, meals etc. You can find the spreadsheet here : Link to the data spreadsheet

After all that hard work, I went to bed. When I woke up, I had multiple comments regarding the weapon section, where multiple people told that the datamined data was wrong, the game showing different values. I thought I had miscalculated stuff in my scripts, so I checked the game files; but my data was correct. What the hell was going on ? Upon closer look, it seemed like the One Handed weapons' data was all true. But all spears had lower attack than what they showed, and two handed weapons had higher attack than what they showed. A quest to uncover this mystery started. Before really starting I'd like to really thank CrimsonStarfall#7854 for all the help they gave, notably in terms of pure testing. Now let's start on the maths !
If you don't want to read a long post like this, I'll put a tl;dr table of the formulas you need at the end.

The surprising normality of one handed weapons

Before taking on the hard maths, let's go easy and talk about one handed weapons. It will also be an introduction to the different factors affecting true damage and shown damage. The damage a one handed, unfused, without any modifiers one handed weapon deals, is just...
TrueDamage = BaseAttack where BaseAttack is the inner damage of the weapon, as stated by the game files.
When adding up modifiers and / or fused damage, it becomes...
TrueDamage = BaseAttack + AdditionalDamage + Modifier where AdditionalDamage is the fuse damage of whatever you're fusing to your base weapon, and Modifier is the eventual attack up modifier you have on your weapon.
Finally, the game always shows the true damage for one handed weapons, which leaves us our final formula for one handed weapons :
ShownDamage = BaseAttack + AdditionalDamage + Modifier
Let's make an exemple together. Let's say I have a Lizal Boomerang, which BaseAttack is 8. Let's say it has a +4 attack up modifier, and that I fuse a Blue Boss Bokoblin Horn to it, which AttachmentDamage is 29. The former formula gives : TrueDamage = 8 + 29 + 4 = 41. Each swing of this weapon, assuming you don't have any other buff going on, will deal 41 damage. The game will also show 41 damage.

Two handed weapons, broken as in BotW?

When you think of BotW's weapon meta, the two handed weapons come often as the best weapon dealer in the game. Having the highest damage, and having the strongest charge attack; Nintendo probably wanted to make players use less two handed weapons in Tears of the Kingdom. What they did, was trick the players into thinking the two handed weapons were not as strong as they are. Let's take the exemple of Royal Claymore. It shows 14 damage... Yet deals 15 damage. What's going on here exactly ? To make sure I get the correct multiplier (because it was clearly a multiplier, not just +1), I modded my game to put 10000 damage to a weapon. And the result...

The weapon was showing 9500 damage. Which instantly gave me the multiplier used by Nintendo : 0.95. Which gives us the first formula for the true and shown damage of two handed weapons, assuming they're unfused and without any modifier.
TrueDamage = BaseAttack
ShownDamage = ROUNDDOWN(BaseAttack * 0.95)
And then I told myself, it's not that bad, it's only affecting the base attack of the shown damage, can't be THAT impactful. Right ? Wrong... After further testing, I discovered that the 0.95 multiplier that didn't seem to apply on the true damage, was actually applying on the modifier and fused item/weapon. After even further testing, I arrived at the final formula for calculating the true damage of a two handed weapon :
TrueDamage = BaseAttack + ROUNDDOWN( (AdditionalDamage + Modifier) / 0.95)
To put it simply, fused items and modifiers on a two handed weapons are slightly buffed than it would have been on a one handed weapon. To the opposite end of the whole thing, the shown damage is easy to calculate once we have the formula for unfused unmodified :
ShownDamage = ROUNDDOWN(BaseAttack * 0.95) + AdditionalDamage + Modifier
Let's make another example ! I'll take our Royal Claymore (undecayed this time, 36 BaseAttack) with a +7 attack up modifier, fused with a Lynel Hoof (10 AdditionalDamage).
Let's calculate the shown damage first this time...
ShownDamage = ROUNDDOWN(36 * 0.95) + 10 +7 = ROUNDDOWN(34.2) + 10 + 7 = 51 shown damage.
TrueDamage = 36 + ROUNDDOWN( (10 + 7) / 0.95) = 36 + ROUNDDOWN(17.89) = 53 true damage.
This might not seem a lot... But let's do another example. The strongest shown damage in the entire game. Let's take an undecayed Royal Guard's Claymore (42 BaseAttack) with a +10 attack up modifier, fusew with a Silver Lynel Saber Horn (55 AdditionalDamage).
ShownDamage = ROUNDDOWN(42 * 0.95) + 10 + 55 = 104 shown damage.
TrueDamage = 42 + ROUNDDOWN( (55 + 10) / 0.95) = 42 + 68 = 110 shown damage.
When the weapon hits 4 durability left, it doubles, which leaves us with 208 shown damage and 220 true damage. When using various attack buffs (such as a level 3 attack up buff that does x1.5) the difference starts to be feeling. Yet the multiplier is "only" 95%... It is time for the spears.

Nintendo WANT us to use spears

I always felt like BotW's spears were kinda bad. Nintendo probably did, because they decided to buff them ! You probably noticed how the spear damage were huge, for example Gloom Spear has 40 damage while the Gloom sword has 41 damage... But they didn't buff anything. They even NERFED the spears. I did the same testing I've done with two handed weapons. I gave 10000 base damage to a weapon... And when I went to check in game :

What the hell, seriously. Going from 1, then 0.95, and now an approximate number between 1.3268 and 1.3269 ?! (the inaccuracy is irrelevant, you would need a 10k+ damage weapon for the formulas to get off 1 damage)
Some testing later... Gave the first formulas for spears, unfused and without modifiers :
TrueDamage = BaseAttack
ShownDamage = ROUNDUP(BaseAttack * 1.3268)
As you can probably guess the multiplier also applies weirdly on the true damage, just like with two handed weapons. Which gives for fused spears with modifiers :
TrueDamage = BaseAttack + ROUNDUP( (AdditionalDamage + Modifier) / 1.3268)
ShownDamage = ROUNDUP(BaseAttack * 1.3268) + AdditionalDamage + Modifier
As with the two handed weapons, something we can clearly see is that fusing items and/or having modifiers on spears has these items/modifier nerfed by the weapon type, and by a way higher factor. To see more how much it affects the spears, let's calculate one of the strongest spear builds :
Let's take an undecayed Zora Spear (8 BaseAttack), with a modifier +10 and a Silver Lynel Saber Horn (55 AdditionalDamage).
TrueDamage = 8 + ROUNDUP( (55 + 10) / 1.3268) = 8 + 49 = 57 true damage.
ShownDamage = ROUNDUP(8 * 1.3268) + 55 + 10 = 76 shown damage.
When multiplying by two when the spear is wet, we arrive at 114 true damage against 152 shown damage, the difference is HUGE.

About weapon effects

You're probably aware of certain weapons having certain effects; below this little paragraph I'll put every weapon effect that affects the damage output of your weapons. I'll precise where in the formulas it goes.
AttachmentDamageUp : AKA "Strong Fusion". A trait of Gerudo weapons. Makes the used fused item have twice the addition damage. Replace AdditionalDamage on your formulas with 2*AdditionalDamage.
HystericalStrength : AKA "Desperate Strength". A trait of Knight weapons. Makes the whole weapon deal twice the damage when Link is at 4HP or less (4HP = 1 heart). Multiply TrueDamage and ShownDamage by 2.
RicketyDamageUp : AKA "Breaking Point". A trait of Royal Guard's weapons. Makes the whole weapon deal twice the damage when the durability of the weapon is less than 4. Multiply TrueDamage and ShownDamage by 2.
RushDamageUp : AKA "Improved Flurry Rush". A trait of Royal weapons. Makes the whole weapon deal twice the damage when doing a flurry rush. Multiply TrueDamage and ShownDamage by 2.
WaterDamageUp : AKA "Water Warrior". A trait of Zora weapons. Makes the whole weapon deal twice the damage when you're wet. Multiply TrueDamage and ShownDamage by 2.
ZonauDamageUp : AKA "Zonaite-Powered". A trait of Zonaite weapons. Adds a fixed value to the weapon BaseDamage that equals 3 if it's a Base Zonaite weapon, 5 if it's a Strong Zonaite weapon and 10 if it's a Mighty Zonaite weapon, if and only if the fuse material is from zonai origin. Add the fixed value to BaseAttack.

About other buffs

Attack up food / armors : Can only stack up to level 3. Level 1 : +20%, Level 2 : +30%, Level 3 : +50%.
Attack up bone : Only applies to bone weapons/materials. +80%.
Attack up from amiibo full sets : Level 1 attack up that can't stack beyond the regular level 3 attack up.
Hot/Cold/Stormy Weather Attack : Unknown values yet (sorry). Caps at level 3.

Formulas resume

BaseAttack : Base true damage of unfused weapon, defined in the game files
AdditionalDamage : Fuse damage of whatever you fuse to the weapon, also defined in the game files
Modifier : Eventual attack up modifier on the base weapon
For one handed weapons :
TrueDamage = BaseAttack
ShownDamage = BaseAttack
For two handed weapons :
TrueDamage = BaseAttack + ROUNDDOWN( (AdditionalDamage + Modifier) / 0.95)
ShownDamage = ROUNDDOWN(BaseAttack * 0.95) + AdditionalDamage + Modifier
For spears :
TrueDamage = BaseAttack + ROUNDUP( (AdditionalDamage + Modifier) / 1.3268)
ShownDamage = ROUNDUP(BaseAttack * 1.3268) + AdditionalDamage + Modifier

So I've got this idea in mind, and I've played around with it a lot (read: reset my character a bunch) and finally want to complete the game with it. The idea is being shield-centric, with mace for the parry. First breakthrough in mercenary for Shield Infusion, and taking shield charge obviously - but I'm stuck on the other two breakthroughs.
I really would like gong strike - I've used it before and it's a lot of fun, but using a whole breakthrough for one ability generally rubs me the wrong way, especially since it doesn't synergize well with the previous infusions. The breakthrough itself isn't even particularly fantastic, so it would be a huge investment for literally one skill. I do want it to keep with the theme of all the shield skills, but still unsure.
Assuming I don't take it, that leaves two breakthroughs open to me. I've been considering Hunter and/or Monk for the melee skills (Monk for master of motion, and counterstrike is too much fun not to pick), Cabal Hermit (shaman) for infuse wind and the generally better buffs, and primal ritualist for the fun of the drums and occasional co-op with a friend.
So my skill bar is looking like:

I'm worried if I don't take Hunter I might struggle against groups of enemies, a lot of my stuff is parry skills so far, and two of them are elemental buff parries that don't actively eliminate targets.
So... yeah. Any thoughts from the fellow theory-crafters out there? I'm not looking for this to be meta or super powerful, just looking to maximize the fun with the roleplay of this sword(Mace)-and-board style character.

I've been a full-stack developer for nearly ten years. I've been a tech lead and an IC for three companies doing fairly different things. I've worked across a wide range of technologies up and down the stack and have found that I can be thrown basically any sort of work within that space and I'll generate something vaguely competent. So why, why, why does it feel like I've been doing absolutely nothing for ten years?
I've suffered from imposter syndrome before. It's hard to escape, but I reasoned my way out of it early on in my career. Everyone knows something you don't, and vice versa. The mistake is treating this 'everyone' thing, this beastly aggregate of all knowledge, as the bar of understanding. Once I figured that out, I felt a lot better. We’re all individuals and I, too, know some things that other people don’t know, and I reflect on how little that matters in the scheme of our collective and individual productivity.
But this - this is different. This feels much more pernicious and difficult to reason about, because it feels more real. It seems to me that all the work I've been doing, in all its variety, has been super rote. We need to add some data fields - add the fields. We need to expose them to other services - make the endpoints. We need to slightly alter this behavior - make those small changes. We need to make this button green - OK, it's green. Wait, we want it blue, and round. OK, done. We need to handle this moment of load better - fiddle with our cloud host settings or Terraform. Review these code changes of thousands of lines and only two commits. The only time I really ever faced an engineering challenge capital-E capital-C was when someone wanted some totally novel behavior and something had to be built from the ground up - but even then, the challenges were not particularly interesting or hard, just as an accident of the industry I worked in or the company I worked at.
So I've spent ten years doing code reviews and making buttons green. If I was interviewing for another job and someone grilled me on the intricacies of JavaScript, which I've been writing the whole time, I'd probably fail. I have the widest and shallowest knowledge necessary to just get shit done as it's asked of me. I have no expertise in anything because I never explored the boundaries of the technologies nor did I do any sort of optimization. I was never proactive in furthering myself as an engineer or as a subject matter expert with any particular piece of technology under use, and my work never demanded that of me. I understand just enough to ensure that I haven't been fired.
This just doesn't seem sustainable. I'm going to be an industry 'veteran' with not just a four year degree but a Master's degree and I'd probably fail the entry quiz for a bootcamp. I have no value on the employment market commensurate with my level of experience. What happened? Is this typical? What do I do now?

I just wanna start this off by saying I know nothing about custom PCs. My bf gifted me a custom PC that one of his friends built for him as a present for my birthday a year ago or so
In the beginning the PC would run games just fine (ark survival evolved, no man's sky, planet zoo, genshin impact, Minecraft) it would run smoothly with no issues
These past few months though it's been randomly crashing when any game would be played. Sometimes it would just crash the game, other times it would just shut off then reboot, or even blue screen and not responsive. It would be fine one minute and crash the next, sometimes even crashing during game start ups
After some Google searches, I'm thinking the graphics card might be fried?

I am very close to landing a decent contract for a type of aluminum service body. The problem is that everyone here likes to weld 3/16" and thicker mild steel and anything made out of thinner aluminum is witchcraft (kidding). We have very talented staff but none of us have the experience with the thinner stuff and I want to make sure I provide them with the best tools possible so we can train properly. I would like to figure out what the "Cadillac" of welding processes would look like for 14-10 gauge 5052 aluminum sheet. This is so I can tweak the design to best suit production capabilities. The service bodies are something you would see on a F550 Mechanic Truck (just for reference). I would really like to figure out what equipment and processes are typically used for this in medium production shops. We would probably be putting out 4 bodies per month.
If you let me know what you currently use, or what you wish your shop would use, I would sure appreciate the info! We currently run Miller XMT450 MPa w/ D-74MPa Plus feeders

For starters I have been in a relationship with my boyfriend for nearly a year now. The beginning of our relationship was a secret. That being said when his parents found out we were together they immediately told him to end it. Im not going to go into so much detail about what was said being as I do not want my boyfriend or anyone recognizing the story.
Throughout the beginning of our relationship they made it clear they didn't accept it. My boyfriend has always refused to leave me, to which they would be beyond pissed.
Fast forward to recent times, they haven't been as direct with their efforts. Which makes me boyfriend believe they have accepted me. I believe its not the case but I do not want to bug him or be a push over because at the end of the day, those are his parents. I cannot compete with them nor should it even be a competition.
But back to what I was saying, their efforts to drive us apart recently have been secretive. Examples being making it difficult to see each other, making up excuses of things they have to do (which never end up happening), making comments in a general sense about things that relate to me without mentioning me etc. These things fly over my boyfriends head but when its mentioned to me I cant help but see a pattern.
This has caused numerous issues in our relationship and I need help.

Is it the driving? Is it the open spaces? Is it the fear of judgement? Is it something else?
For me it's that I will get too far from home, feel physically ill, and not be able to get back home. I've considered if living in a van would help this, since my home would always be with me.

a) p95 : There is an amendment: https://api.parliament.uk/historic-hansard/lords/1923/ma13/licensing-act-1921-amendment-bill-hl but I don't have the times Sunday opening/closing (or I haven't found). Nothing better. And nothing that specifies that the drink must be accompanied by a snack. Can anybody help me ?

I am a 21M who has been powerlifting for the past several years. I’m looking to switch to CrossFit/functional fitness but am a little lost on programming. What are some good places to find programming online? I don’t have access to a box near me.

My ad accounts, Biz Managers were hacked 3 weeks ago. I reported it to Facebook in near real-time since then I get a flower patronizing email every couple of days but no action.
It has been transfered to diffrent reps 4x. I have no other access at all to Facebook " Support" 9this is all via email).
I am have already lost a big client from this and Facebook could care less.
I have had out reach from those claiming they could purchase and unlock code and grant me access to my accounts - but I am very leary of this.
Has anyone used a service like this? Or perhaps have any helpful tips about reaching Facebook and getting this issue solved? Has anyone else been hacked recently and what was your experiance and resolution.
It's stressing me out, I have no information to give my clients, and it seems hopeless at the moment.

Hi. My partner and I recently opened up our relationship about 2 months ago. We both find others on apps and meet up with them and so forth. He’s more active when it comes to dates, etc. Recently, as it’s so new I’ve been adjusting and today after a heated discussion I asked to put a pause on it and asked he spend time with me for the next 3 days to kind of just focus on us. This comes from feeling lonely, anxious and feel like I’m getting into a state of depression. I feel like I just need my partner more right now as we work through this. He said he had plans and didn’t want to seem like a flake to this guy he was meeting up. We went on and felt like he was prioritizing this date over how I was feeling right now and needing him more. In a normal mental state I would’ve understood and let him go on with his date. Am I asking for too much to ask him to cancel his plans and just focus on us for the next 3 days? Appreciate y’all’s input in advance.

Right now I’m in Bosnia visiting family and experiencing the country and what is has to offer. I arrived yesterday and already have had a panic attack on both days. Yesterday’s panic attack wasn’t too bad all things considered. I was dealing with jet lag and stress from visiting family. Today’s panic attack though is one of the worst I’ve had, definitely top 3 (I’ve been experiencing panic attacks consistently now for 2 months) - I also experienced a new symptom of nausea. I legitimately thought I was gonna die and had an emotional breakdown in front of some of my family who are very caring and didn’t judge me for it whatsoever. However, I still have some fear that I may have a heart attack (logically I know I won’t but emotionally I can’t help feel that way) or at the very best, I will continue to experience intense panic attacks on a nearly daily basis. I’ve been to the ER twice now in America and found out through blood work I wasn’t anemic or had hyperthyroidism and went to a cardiologist for a echo ultrasound where everything came back clean. Despite this I can’t help but feel there may be some other underlying issue. No question but just wanted to give my experience of panic attacks and my fear of having them and worsening.

Hi ! This is one more post of a series whose aim is to share the Monogatari short stories that hadn't been translated into English yet.
Short stories masterpost here, updated regularly to show our progress with the translations.
 
 
Today's story is Tsukihi Endless (translated by Tigoris), published in the special edition of the Bakemonogatari manga volume 22, the last volume of the manga, as the story itself will remind you. As usual, it's written from Araragi's point of view.
 
 
"And so, oniichan, the comicalized Bakemonogatari has now come to a perfect end. This is yet another ending in the Monogatari Series that seems to be endlessly ending without end. Would you like to examine this repeated occurrence?"
 
"Don’t say that it’s endlessly ending. In fact, don’t say anything at all."
 
My adorable little sister, the embodiment of the idea of "pretty", Araragi Tsukihi, voiced a level of meta-commentary that was so far above normal that I honestly felt every fiber of my being become fed up with her. I was using the words "adorable" and "embodiment of pretty" in an attempt to trick myself into continuing the conversation. And to top it off, this was to be the final of these short short stories, a series of stories that appeared at the end of each of the 22 volumes of the comic version, and in this final story of the series, the character to appear was not Senjougahara, Hanekawa, or even Shinobu; no, it was her, of all people.

"That’s Ougi-chan."
 
"I’m not making it up! Look, the second volume of Nisemonogatari, Tsukihi Phoenix, was the final chapter of the series, wasn’t it?"
 
Hm, she had a point.
 
I see. It’s amazing what a person could forget… Well, perhaps there was a reason to examine the topic with her. I was unusually annoyed to have to go along with her idea, but if we didn’t leave behind some kind of record, then the world would have to rely on historians to piece together the answers.
 
What?
 
"Umm, well, to start, the name Monogatari Series didn’t even exist. Hitagi Crab was published in the supplementary issue of the light novel magazine Mephisto in 2005, and at that time there was no series name… It wasn’t even decided if there would be any additional stories to create a series with."
 
"There must have been some plan to continue, though, right? After all, Karen and I are both in the story."
 
"At that time, the two of you were twins."
 
"A remnant of the original idea."
 
"Originally the plan was to tell the story of Senjougahara, then the story of Hanekawa’s Golden Week, and then the spring break with Shinobu—so each story would be another step into the past. But as you know, what actually happened was a series of short stories that continued forward in time with Hachikuji and Kanbaru. In other words, Mayoi Maimai and Suruga Monkey. And at that point, it ended."
 
"At the end of the first volume of Bakemonogatari? Why?"
 
"At this point, the magazine that the stories had been published in, Mephisto, suspended publication. That’s probably because, from an outside perspective, with the recovery of Senjougahara Hitagi, the story had reached a stopping point."
 
By the way, the short story magazine Mephisto went on to face a variety of challenges, and it changed form to be called MRC (Mephisto Readers Club), a membership-based newsletter that continued to publish stories.
 
Just what you’d expect from where I originated. It was undying.
 
"After that, the stories were published as a single volume, and then the second volume was written all the way through. And as I said before, the stories of Shinobu and Hanekawa didn’t end up taking place in the past, but instead Tsubasa Cat was published, and, if not for that, it was unlikely that Nadeko Snake would have existed."
 
"How terrifying. It’s like looking at an alternate world where my best friend Nadeko-chan never existed."
 
I had a feeling that Sengoku would feel terrified as well, hearing that she was considered your best friend. Let’s just ignore that.
 
"With Bakemonogatari parts 1 and 2 complete, the series had a clean ending point. What came next was the long-awaited story that I talked about earlier, a story taking place in the past, Kizumonogatari. At this time, it was called a two-part story."
 
"The way that they talked about it, Second Season, it was more like planting and harvesting two crops in the same year."
 
"It really didn’t feel like that at the time. It felt like the soil might die… However, before that Second Season could take place, the aforementioned Nisemonogatari volumes 1 and 2 came out. That one was targeted to be a story taking place in the future after Bakemonogatari and Kizumonogatari. They were meant to be published alongside the announcement of the anime version."
 
That was likely the first time that the series had the feeling of coming to an end. In the next story, Nekomonogatari, the series began to change. To be more specific, it was in this part of the series that other characters began to replace me as the narrator.
 
"For the more hardcore mystery fans, it was a bit of a difficult change to have the narrator or point of view change around like that."
 
"Wasn’t that an issue from way back when for more traditional mystery stories?"
 
"Don’t call it ‘way back when’, Tsukihi-tan."
 
Well, she wasn’t wrong. Foreign mystery novels were surprisingly open-minded when it came to “point of view” in stories. It was the difference between a third-person perspective and an omniscient perspective. In any event, in the story that came after Nekomonogatari (Kuro) which showed the events of Golden Week in the past, Nekomonogatari (Shiro) featured Hanekawa Tsubasa as the narrator, and, for the Second Season of the series, the heroine herself would be the one telling the story.
 
"Bakemonogatari, Kizumonogatari, and Nisemonogatari all had the radical for ‘person’ in the first kanji of the title, so there were those who called it the Ninben Series."TL note 2
 
"Nobody called it that, did they?"
 
"But in Nekomonogatari, that first radical of the first kanji changed to that of a beast instead of a person,TL note 3 because the story was about a person turning into an animal. And just as a side comment, it was at this time—in a fanbook made for the release of the Bakemonogatari anime—that the first of this style of short short story was written."
 
"Ooh, what a revolutionary event."
 
It would be nice to have all of the short short stories compiled into a single volume, but given their short length, it just wasn’t enough to make a book from.TL note 4 This special edition release came with the 22nd of the stories, and there will no doubt be more of them to come.
 
"Nekomonogatari (Kuro) brought with it the end of the stories from the past that had been planned, but Nekomonogatari (Shiro) brought with it the idea of delving into the minds of the heroines, and so in the following stories of Kabukimonogatari, Hanamonogatari, and Otorimonogatari the titles included the radical for ‘change’, and thus began the Second Season.TL note 5 The end of that season came with Koimonogatari."
 
"Which doesn’t have the radical for ‘change’."

The narrator for Koimonogatari was not myself or any of the heroines, and it was at that point that it became clear that literally anything could happen.
 
"But given the title Hitagi End that comes within the story, it definitely had a feeling of finality to it."
 
"No, but the story pushed ahead fairly quickly into the Final Season."
 
"There’s a lot of talk of ‘end’ and ‘final’, but the story seemed to have a vitality that defied coming to any sort of ending…"
 
"Well, the last installment of the Final Season was Owarimonogatari. Wait, no, it was Zoku Owarimonogatari wasn’t it."TL note 7
 
"Yes, far too much vitality."
 
That’s rich coming from you.
 
"Tsukimonogatari, Koyomimonogatari, Owarimonogatari parts 1-3, and Zoku Owarimonogatari composed the Final Season, and then it was revealed that there would be an Off Season."
 
"Well, now that there’s an Off Season, there’ll never be an end to it."
 
"The Off Season consisted of Orokamonogatari, Wazamonogatari, Nademonogatari, and Musubimonogatari. The season ended with Musubimonogatari."
 
"That title certainly has a feeling of finality to it. But I bet there’s more that comes after, right?"
 
"There is. The Monster Season."
 
Aberrations were always largely unknown figures in the stories, so while the heroines could become narrators, you’d never see an aberration as the narrator. However, during the Off Season, the line between human and aberration began to blur and become less firm, and so that became the next new territory to explore.
 
Yoimonogatari, Shinobumonogatari,TL note 8 Amarimonogatari, Ougimonogatari.
 
And finally, Shinomonogatari parts 1 and 2.
 
"Well, the series didn’t end even when the titles had ‘final’ or ‘end’ in them, so now it’s come to ‘death’ huh… Aah, but surely the series did end here, right, oniichan? Even if there’s an undying vampire or an undying phoenix…"
 
"With the release of this volume of the manga version of Bakemonogatari they’re announcing the release of a new novel, Ikusamonogatari."
 
In that sense, perhaps the series itself was turning into some kind of fantastical creature… It wasn’t much compared to the 600 years that Kissshot Acerolaorion Heartunderblade had lived, but for a novel series to continue for eighteen years, perhaps it, like the short story magazine Mephisto, was undying.
 
"Well, I can only imagine that the next book will be Koroshimonogatari."TL note 9
 
"Nobody would publish such a violent title. Nobody wants to commit murder just to bring the series to an end."
 
"Well, I suppose Kanmonogatari is still left… Or Nakimonogatari, Momonogatari, Oimonogatari, Chikumonogatari, Naimonogatari, or Ushinaumonogatari?"TL note 10

Or maybe she wasn’t spoiling potential titles so much as she was advertising books that didn’t exist yet… After all, the Second Season and Monster Season had begun in a similar style.
 
"You know, I wouldn’t mind doing Oimonogatari one day. For personal reasons. But this and that, the anime version, the manga version, it was thanks to all of these things that the series was able to continue in the way that it has. It's allowed the series to live on. I’m very thankful for it."
 
"The feelings of appreciation will never run out. There definitely won’t be a Tsukimonogatari any time in the future."TL note 11
 
"That sounds like a story with you as the protagonist… But you know, maybe now with the definitive end of the manga version of Bakemonogatari the series has finally had its final footnote in history and will finally enter a deep slumber. Nemurimonogatari."TL note 12

So um, did not expect the story to go full meta and offer us an entire retrospective. It was basically a Nisio afterword at this point. It also re-confirmed something that had been brought up in Nise, the tidbit about the Fire Sisters being twins originally. I also find it funny that we got our third official Tsukimonogatari title.

Ahem. Anyway.
With this one and the recent progress on other things, I guess we're pretty much officially completely caught up with the extra content. Short stories, additional material, and even audiovisual content, we've taken care of everything we could at this point. Of course, as this story implies, it's not like Nisio intends to stop pumping more of them out, but it still feels nice to know we're not lagging behind at last.
One thing I've been preparing recently as we were running out of stuff to get translated is a little expansion on the "audiovisual" section of the short stories masterpost. I'd like to make a post introducing these semi-important / cool videos, going from the Drama CD-like stories to the little-known promotional videos like the Madogatari Manner Movie. To this end, I've also personally subbed several videos that weren't already and that I didn't post yet, so that'll be some more content for you to discover.
But I guess we can't postpone it much further now. It's time to take care of the Second Edition of the Short Stories Book, which as you may know has always been planned. This story and this moment in time feel like an excellent stopping point. So, I guess soonish (hopefully), I'll be able to share this Second Edition containing all the stories published until now (including Mayoi Welcome), as well as the Mazemonogatari compiled book. And then maybe I won't have any more excuses to procrastinate on my super-ambitious years-long ultimate project.

Children of Woe – Chapter Two.
Scar’ita floated alone in an endless void she could vaguely remember a flaming giant and white-hot pain but that seemed like another life, now there was only numbness as her lifeforce dissipated into nothingness. Scar’ita thought she heard the hiss of a serpent and twisted in the void but could not find the source, the ghostly feeling of another being wrapping itself around her gave her some comfort that she was no longer alone in this endless expanse. Releasing a breath, Scar’ita relaxed and her heart beat its final beat.
Six mechanical giants of war stood before the broken remains of a seventh, using artificial senses they watched and waited as an arachnid of metal and circuits detached its self from one of their number and skittered over to their broken kin.
The creature made its way onto the chest of the fallen giant and soon plasma cutters hissed as they stripped away armour to reveal the flesh beneath. With the creature of flesh and blood revealed the arachnid deactivated its cutters and wrapped its many arms around its target. Needles and filaments pierced the targets flesh and rendered it immobile, as the arachnid began its task it pulsed to the giants:

The arachnid drone extended a needle into its patient’s silent heart.
Liquid lightning flowed into Scar’ita as her stilled heart thundered back to life. Scar’ita’s mouth opened on reflex as her body sought out precious oxygen, before she could draw a single breath the drone clamped onto her head and pushed a pulsating tube down her throat and into her lungs.
[Resuscitation complete – subject stable, E.T phoning home ……… Trauma team awaiting arrival ETA 6 minutes]
The six waited in silence until the largest of their number spoke.
“I hate that bit, its like getting throat fucked by a face hugger”
Their leaded chuckled and pretended not to hear the whisper of “I would settle for a throat fucking about now”.
Before anymore comments could be made the leader spoke again “Touchdown in five minutes, I want you Bitches locked in your cradles for re-arm and re-supply in fifteen and ready for debrief in 30”.
Looking to the nine-metre avatar of war amongst them she spoke again “Oh and Little Brother you better have a real good fucking answer as to how you managed to set yourself on fire with your own incendiaries and why you bellowed like a clam jammed Turox”.
When the specially modified dropship ‘Deep Diver’ touched down in its landing bay the members of Special Unit 633 marched to their cradles and left the Trauma Team to its work.

I just got a pair of the 2nd gen AirPods through eBay certified refurbished in ‘excellent’ condition which is basically new. Coming from the normal 2019 AirPods, the noise cancellation and transparency is good but it’s nowhere near as insane that the reviews made it out to be. Is it just me or are my pair defective?
