I am 30F.
I have a BA in Communications from 2020.
From 2016-2020, I worked as a Customer Service Assistant and then Customer Service Representative in the automotive industry.
In 2021 I took a role that was supposed to be a Sales Support Specialist role, that they hired too many people for it, so they offered me a Global Planning Support Specialist role (supply chain stock order entry role). I did that until a week ago. I was only making 43k. It was fully remote but after 3 years being remote I felt unhealthy socially and physically being isolated at home all the time.
I really needed more money and was in sort of financial crisis and unsure of what I wanted for my career, I had previously thought about marketing in 2020 but couldn’t land interviews and didn’t try hard enough.
I interviewed for a role Customer Operations Coordinator at a dye company that promised many supply chain career opportunities after 6 months to a year. It pays $52k or $25/hr. I accepted. I started a week ago, and I am liking it just fine, but it is really similar to my last CSR job (I already know how to do orders and everything that goes along with it isn’t new to me) just with better systems (JDE vs AS400, they use salesforce, and much more). The company is very well organized and huge, they have the biggest market share in the world. My coworkers, some of them seem kinda mean and the company does have higher turnover and some poor reviews.
I realized how underpaid I am compared to my peers especially since I have a degree. I am honestly not sure what I want to get into, I’m trying to figure it out, I was thinking supply chain when I took this role, but I honestly just like learning about different businesses and industries, and am not so sure about the constant putting out of fires in supply chain, just like customer service has, and I feel that this company is tired of hiring people who keep leaving and they really want me to stay and say they’re big on internal promotions and retaining talent. I’ve been researching things along the lines of Business Analyst and Salesforce Administrator. I have 22k in student loans and barely make ends meet at 43k, at 52k that should be like $500 extra a month but still not much money for a 30 year old living alone with $945 in rent.
I had a contracting company recruiter reach out to me about an Account Coordinator position that is contract for 6 months but they really want to hire someone on after that. The pay is $30/hr. Here’s the breakdown:
Current job I started a week ago: -Customer Operations Coordinator -chemical manufacturing industry -they make dyes for foods, pharmacy, cosmetics, and more -52k/yr, 25/hr -on site every day -business professional dress code -lots of exposure to supply chain -latest and greatest systems -organized, public company -possibly toxic coworkers -benefits aren’t expensive ($160 a month) -15 days PTO a year but cannot take off last three days of the month since they want orders to invoice by EOM -4% 401k match -tuition reimbursement for MBA possibly if they decide it would be good for them -promise of promotions, especially in supply chain -seems everyone normally stays late, possibly understaffed -17 minutes away in a bad neighborhood but with good campus security -largest color manufacturer in the world
Job recruiter contacted me about today: -Account Coordinator -packaging manufacturing industry -they make plastic food containers which is more boring to me -62k/yr, 30/hr -on site four days a week, wfh one day a week -6 months contract to hire role -more in line with my degree and experience -25 minutes away in a much nicer area -8th largest plastic packaging manufacture in North America
Should I tell him I’d like to interview? The salary is really what’s pulling me, plus my ambivalence about supply chain career. I just don’t know what I want to do. My boyfriend and I are trying to focus on paying off our student debts so we can start a life together. I also wonder if I should tell him I just started a new role but would still like to check that one out. He asked if I was still on the market.

Hi all. I’m curious what you guys have done for shade for your livestock if you don’t have much. All of the places we could put them in deep shade are basically right next to our neighbors and I feel bad making them listen to roosters and eventually goats. Their shelters are really well ventilated but they’re still hot as shit out there and I can only run so many ice cubes out a day.
Anyone ever deal with this/how did you remedy/ or did you just leave them be?

I have a dear Friend who moved into our apartment complex after a time of housing insecurity. We advocated for this friend to get them into our close-knit small apartment unit because we knew they would be good for rent and we could support each other by being in the same building. Overall it's been wonderful save for one thing.
Friend has a really sweet senior Shiba Jack Russel terrier mix named Jack. We genuinely love Jack, but since Friend has been going to work in a new job, Jack mournfully howls every. single. time. Friend leave for work- and their bedroom where Jack chills shares a wall with ours. For the past couple of months pretty consistently jack howls for 15-25 minutes when Friend leaves and wakes me up an hour and a half or so before my alarm. I work retail and I'm a designer and really need my sleep to recharge from human interaction lol.
Friend knows this and we have been brainstorming solutions. Friend rides a motorcycle that is parked right outside their window and we discovered that Jack hearing the bike was upsetting him (he loves to ride with Friend) so Friend will push their bike out of the alley to the street before starting and Jack will still bark and howl. Jack is not food motivated so a snuffle treat mat and peanut butter in a Kong have not provided real distraction. We put an audio book on while Friend is gone so it's not quiet and still no luck. Jack obviously is just very distressed by Friend's leaving- previously Friend did not live alone. Friend is very good about walking Jack and getting him outside before and after work.
I feel bad because this is putting a strain on our relationship. Jack has been registered as an emotional support animal which is how he could get in in the first place in our dog-free building. I've noticed lately now that it's warmer and the windows are open Jack is even MORE sensitive to other noises. I've heard him barking at my other neighbors when they are parking, when people come & go in the building, and even at times when I'm playing a podcast through our speaker system in our place. I am growing increasingly worried that our other neighbors (who do not have a friendship with Friend) will start to complain. Since Friend does not have much money and had struggled to get into an apartment, there's been a lot of stress about this.
Can anyone with experience offer some advice? Anyone had a similar situation you were able to resolve? The only thing I can think of is that Friend already wanted a cat... I want to be like GET THE CAT NOW so Jack isn't as lonely lol. Thank you!

I know there's a little bit in the definitive guide, but I'd love to know which ones specifically worked for you guys. I have an iron, but no tiny tip for it so I'll need one of those. I don't really know what to get as the most soldering I've done is adding a usb c port to my 3ds. I'm confident that I can install the chip and/or fix it if I biff it, but idk what tools to get. any help?

Hey, sorry if I have any typos. English is not my primary language. Some time ago, I made a post expressing my lack of confidence and fear of talking to strangers. However, it turns out that wasn't entirely true. While I don't have a problem talking to people in general, when it comes to someone I'm interested in, my brain tends to freeze like an error 404 page.
Recently, I attended an assistant police officer training where I had great interactions with a few girls. One of them caught my attention, and whenever we spoke, it felt like she was genuinely interested in what I had to say. She even mentioned seeing my brother, who works as a police officer, while he was on duty. These signs make me think that she may have done some research and knows that we are brothers, not just random guys with the same last name (which is quite common in my country).

I smoke cannabis daily (on work-days only before bed), I also use nicotine daily (smokeless nicotine pouches) as well as the caffeine in my morning cup. And every God-damn time, I'm afraid I'm just about to have some heart-related episode. The fear of death kicks in as my thoughts are rushing faster than the speed of sound. I just hate it all so much. I'm about to go and see my doctor soon, since I already sent her a letter that I wanna check out what's up exactly. I wanna do all the blood tests, ECG for sure (to make sure my heart functions right), spirography in case it should be asthma/something lung related. Does anybody feel me? last year in november i decided to partake in NNN (for the memes and for self improvement) and to my surprise i completed NNN. It made me realize that i do have self control but i just watch porn just because so i tried to avoid porn more and more. Fast foward a couple months and my interest in porn has lowered ALOT. But i turned to something else which was cutting. One day i just had a really complicated and bad day so i just took a box cutter and cut my hand. They were small cuts and i didnt cut deep so i didnt think much about it. However just minutes after i just had a urge to cut again but luckily i stopped myself. However a couple days afterwards i just had a even bigger urge to cut which i sadly did. I am now 6 days clean from cutting and unfortunately only a day clean from porn. I definitely think that i am bipolar so i guess i should get a diagnosis sooner a later (it would also explain most of my problems). The purpose of this post to tell people that the worst way to quit another habit is to create another bad habit so for everyone reading this, no matter how bad you are doing please dont get into cutting or watching porn and if you are doing these things please talk to someone about it or find different ways of quiting these habits as soon as possible <3
