So I played about 6-8 games of the ww2 skirmish "platoon+support" rule set from Too Fat Lardies.
The Good:
I think the greatest aspect of this game is what happens outside the battle. Namely the patrol phase that does away with "my army is 12 inches from my table edge, now lets move untill we are within shooting range". That and the pre-selected national lists with random support options that does away with points for building armies.
The command dice mechanic is also great. It makes for random activations which is very nice. Force morale means the game ends organically before one side is completely wiped out without making a hard cap on turn limit. This means no one knows when the game might end, but my games usually lasted about 3 hours which is good. Finally, the scale is real which means no artificial maximum ranges for rifles and such.
The Bad:
Charts. There are loads and loads of charts of convoluted rules for every little thing and it doesn't really add much to the game. Things could have easily been streamlined without reducing the level of simulation. Usually when I play a game after 3 games I rarely have to flip the rulebook to see how things are done. With Chain of Command there wasn't even one game where we didn't have to consult the rules multiple times per game phase. This slows down the game and makes things really clanky. Even the player who introduced me to the rules was constantly getting things wrong and having to consult the rules.
Bad balance. Now I get that war is not balanced. But this is a game, I am not going to spend 3-4 hours playing a reenaction with toy soldier where I'm supposed to lose or win. I want a fair competition. Playing a game where one force has better quality troops, especially elites, makes the game ridiculesly hard for one side. For example, elites are only hit on a score of 5-6 when at close range. But most of the time you shoot beyond close range which means they are only hit on a 6 by nearly all weapons(!) and if they are in cover you have to roll 5-6 again to kill a model. The chances of doing that statistically is dismal which leads to either one side steamrolling the other or, if both are elites, a game where nearly no one dies.
Anyway I wanted to share with you my thoughts on this. What do you think? know any other good skirmish ww2 rules? my ww2 experience thus far has only been chain of command and bolt action.

For the second time in a row I have bought a grain-free food without knowing it was grain-free. There are so many options of dog food I get completely overwhelmed and I cannot afford to buy a THIRD bag of food in the span of a month at the moment.
I bought my dog a grain-free food by accident after her food (Purina Beyond) was discontinued and Chewy sent me my cats food instead of any kind of notification that they were out.
And my dog was also out of food.
So, I bought True Acres Chicken & Veg in a bit of a panic because it was a big bag for not too much money. "Grain-free" is written almost all over it but I didn't catch on until we were nearly done with bag #1.
My dog has since developed a rash on her belly that she scratches at a ton.
So I found Purina Pro Plan Adult Sensitive Skin & Stomach. The picture had nothing with grain-free listed, but I didn't scroll through all 8 photos listed, I just bought it. I had been working through the pages on Chewy for about an hour trying to find something that seemed within my budget for the price and weight and that was what I kept landing on.
Today I looked at the bag and right on the front it says "no corn, wheat or soy." I cannot explain how much I want to absolutely lose it right now. I had transitioned her and was feeling good, but since the rash persisted, I had made a vet appointment for fear that it was the mower chemicals and cut grass inflaming her belly.
NOW? IDK.
I'm so upset. I have like two bags of very full dog food, just paid rent and am trying to save for this vet appt. I do not have funds, or space, or spoons to get yet another bag of food and transition her AGAIN.
Why is grain-free food so readily available? It shouldn't be given to a dog unless expressly determined by a vet, yet it's everywhere!
And now I'm so exhausted from looking for food the first time, I don't want to look again. I already feel exhausted, overwhelmed and burnt out at the thought which in turn makes me feel like a terrible dog owner that I keep putting my baby through this.
Thanks for listening to me vent and if anyone has recommendations for a NOT grain-free dog food good for a 45lb Treeing Hound mix (budget of about $60/mo) I am so open to it.

So i'm a total Tdarr noob, but had figured out a way to get the first couple hundred files in my library transcoded from h.264 to h.265. It was running fine for a while. However, it kept giving me a message that it had reached the staged file limit (even though it was at 1,000). I posted about this and made some adjustments, but now, on every file, i'm getting a message simlar to whats in the log below. It will spend nearly half an hour on a 30-ish minute file, but end up not doing any transcoding. This seems to be a huge waste of time and resources - if its not going to transcode, whats it doing for half an hour? (Tdarr is running on a NUC in Windows 11 with an intel 1235u with 32 GB of RAM. The GPU is at 100% but the CPU is not used much).
I also have to keep expanding the staged file limite (its now at 2,000), even though, based on the options i selected, I dont think i should need to have it so large.

I would appreciate any tips/troubleshooting that anyone can provide.

Hi I've recently thought about timetravelled and then memory of mine came up to me. I was about 6 or 8, and I was in the Krynica Mountains in Poland. It was very snowy that day. I was pretty new to skiing, and from time to time I would fall down on the snow. One time when I was doing zigzag exercises with little flags (it looked like a flag with a pole on both sides), And then, as I recall, I went into this flag between the poles (I was alone; there were only strangers there; my family was on other ski slopes), and I fell on my face. When I turned around, everything looked the same. There was snow, trees, and even this flag thingy. And then I saw a cameraman with an old-school camera (a wooden camera for black and white photos). That's how it looked. I think he was making a movie. He was standing before me, but his back was to me. Then I saw who he was shooting. There was a woman with very white glamour skin and very velvety black hair (and with black uv glasses or something that looked similar); what was most eye-catching was that she was wearing luxurious fur and very old-style clothes. The cameraman also had very old clothes. She also was skiing with two ski poles in her hands. So after I saw them, I saw her sliding sideways in front of me, and the cameraman was shooting her. It lasted like 60 seconds, and she slid near me, and the cameraman went after her. They didn't notice me. After those holidays, I told my family, but they didn't believe me, and I've moved on. I'm not sure if I have time traveled or reality shifted. But something unusual happened that day. Tell me what you think about this. I'm not sure, but I think the footage from that cameraman might exist somewhere. Maybe they were photos or a movie; I'm not sure.

I’ve been seeing pictures here and there of people taking their gecko outside (in a backyard, or on a path near a forest, etc.) and I’m wondering if this is risky, or not so much. To me (I had a rat many years ago that I took out to my backyard once or twice when I was young and sort of careless) this seems unsafe - just for the fact that a hawk, or any large bird could swoop down super fast and (best case) knock the gecko to the floor, also for direct sunlight reasons. I’d love to bring mine out, but it seems scary. Just curious what the thoughts are on this. Of course I pretty much intend on keeping mine indoors, but again, curious.

I smoked cannabis heavily and cigarettes moderately for 3 years(18-21), im pretty much quitting at the moment, (only smoking on weekends), how likely am i to get cancer in the near future in your opinion? Its really bothering me and getting me anxious. Its making it really hard not to want to smoke to calm my nerves

I’m nearly 2 months into titration and every single part of the process for getting medication has been painful.
My first prescription took 10 days to get to me from my initial assessment. I paid and signed up immediately, prescription was written, but broadway pharmacy took that long to finally get something out to me.
Then ADHD360 emailed me to say I needed to buy more tablets (prior to review) so I did as instructed and paid. Only for my clinician to change my dosage and wrote me a new £110 prescription. So I paid for that.
My clinician wasn’t very helpful at all about the duplicate prescription (pretty sure given it’s a controlled drug they shouldn’t be doing that!)and I was told ‘to just ring up ADHD360’ if you have any issues.
So I ring ADHD360, who basically say it’s absolutely nothing to do with them and something I need to sort with broadway pharmacy. After several phone calls, I’m advised to refuse the ‘incorrect’ prescription parcel and they’ll refund me the £90.
Which I do, the parcel gets sent back to them. I then chase broadway pharmacy several times and each time they say haven’t got it.
They did. It was signed for by them the day after I sent it back. There’s proof of delivery! It’s now 2 weeks since it arrived and I still haven’t got a refund and being given the run around.
ADHD360 basically shrug their shoulders and say it’s nothing to do with them, which I think is pretty shoddy given the fact I’m paying £950 odd to be ‘under their care’
And to top it off, I’m £90 down on a prescription I had to refuse.

I realize my title sounds like my daughter can do no evil but hear me out. My daughter (4) has just made friends with a girl (6). She lives across the street and they play almost every night. I always sit near and watch them, since my daughter is still so young I want to make sure she isn’t stealing toys/throwing fits/etc. The 6 year olds mom also sits outside and we chat. However, at least 3 or 4 times a night the 6 year old will come tell me my daughter is being mean. She will tell me “she’s not playing the game right” or “She won’t let me ride her scooter” or one time it was “she asked for candy even though I said it was mine.” To be clear if my daughter was honestly not playing nice I would be the first one to correct her, that’s why I’m outside in the first place. But like the 6 year old locked my daughter in a dog kennel last night, my daughter cried and she didn’t let her out until I said, “She is telling you she doesn’t like this, let her out.” (Her mom had stepped into the house at this point.) Last night another girl (5) was playing with them and even she went up to the 6 year old’s mom and said “6 year old isn’t being nice to 4 year old” But the mom didn’t really do anything. It’s not really an option for me to not let them play because they live so close. They are always outside and my 4 year old really wants to play with the 6 year old. The 6 year old is even the one who always asks my daughter to come play. I had a long talk with my 4 year old about how if someone is being mean to her she needs to come tell me and we will go do something else fun. I have thought about the next time the 6 year old tells me my daughter is being mean, telling her, “I’m sorry that’s happening, should me and 4 year old go inside and take our toys with us?” Because we are the ones with the scooters, chalk, and sandbox. But if she said “yes” that’s just punishing my 4 year old. How would you handle this situation? Am I overblowing it? I am just so tired of her being a jerk to my kid.

Right now I live without wifi so my 15 gig allowable hotspot from my phone did the job downloading with the hotspot running out near the end switching to slow and spotty connection to finish download. After a bit of chugging, the game verified that it had in fact released and opened. I got to the main menu and found that my controller and mouse inputs did nothing to scroll or select.
I theorized that this was some EA online at all times BS so I disconnected my expired and very spotty hotspot and viola, the game runs seamlessly. This makes me think that the game runs through an online server and all button presses have to go through this server whether local or external even when you are in single player modes and menus.
Hopefully this doesn’t lead to any pointless performance issues for any of you but thought I’d point it out cause it was weird.

This happened a few hours ago. No Karen’s or Kevin’s in this one. I knew something like this might happen eventually. I was always curious to see what would happen.
I work as a delivery driver for a building supply store. For my job, I have to wear hi-vis t-shirts. So I had that on, beige shorts, and a visor with my company name on it. Though unless you are standing a few meters away looking directly at the visor, you wouldn’t see the logo.
So today, I had to do a delivery to a near by town. And while there, I was told to go too one of the two supermarkets that are next door to one another to get hydration drinks and cold snack for the rest of my coworkers who work outside because of the heat wave we are experiencing.
I go to the one store, and they are sold out of everything we need. So I begin walking next door to the wall of marts. I have the list in my hand, walking in front of their soils and mulch. And just a head of me, there is a car pulling up, stopping a head of me. Since he was blocking my way, I walked behind a skid of product, and suddenly hear the drivers voice call out “Do you have any more black soil?”
I just replied “I don’t work here. I am a customer like you.” “Oh, you’re a customer?” “Yup.” I didn’t stop walking, and never saw the customers face.
A few minutes later, I’m walking out of the store with a cart full of what I need, and the customer is still there loading his vehicle up.
For fun, I walk by his vehicle, where he saw me pushing the cart.

I found myself a unicorn. I wasn’t even looking for an AP, but this person just fell out of the sky and into my heart. They’re perfect for me in every way. We connect on such a deep level that I swear it’s like we were a couple in a previous life. We have amazing conversations, amazing chemistry, everything. I can’t get enough, but there’s a distance issue so our ability to meet in person is difficult.
We recently had an overnight that made us both realize how extraordinary our relationship is and how much we truly love and appreciate each other. I know if our life circumstances were different, we would have made a fantastic couple. I’m not saying that’s not within the realm of possibility, but it’s not possible in the near future.
But there is a problem—my anxiety. I’m terrified of getting caught by SO, and it’s a completely irrational fear. My OPSEC is good, but there’s still the what-if’s messing with my head.
What do you do to deal with irrational fears? I don’t want this to end, but I don’t want to panic about getting caught when we actually have the opportunity to be together either. I want to be able to relax and enjoy my time with him.

I’m 20 years old F and this started september last year. I would always feel bloated and have mild pelvic pain when I’m not on my period and every time its near my period, it suddenly disappears and will be back right after my period. This has caused severe anxiety attacks from me because I have health anxiety. Decided to have it checked last november and the doctor did a transrectal ultrasound on me and found nothing on my ovaries. I wasn’t satisfied so I went to do an abdominal ultrasound. They only found small physiologic cyst on my ovary and 2 of my new doctors both stated that it’s nothing. It was a relief but still, I have no answer to what i’m feeling. One ob told me that it was probably something related to endometriosis however, I needed to do a laparoscopy to confirm it. I’m scared of blood and needles so i don’t think I would be able to do that plus my doctor told me that it would be such a hassle since nothing is guaranteed. They may or may not detect endo. I’m scared. I’m overthinking what if its the c word. Has anyone experienced this? Badly need someone to share their experience.

So, Switzerland contributed a lot to the world, and famous for many things like chocolate, watches etc. They sure are nice, but let’s be honest, they’re nowhere near as good as Mirador or Rivella. If my boss were to gift me a Patek Phillippe watch, I’d be disappointed. You could’ve bought at least a thousand bottles of Rivella with that, François, at least.
As you know, you can’t find this tasty ass condiment and delicious drink outside of CH. I want to buy some Mirador and Rivella and want to bring it across the German border. I know taking some bottles of Rivella is not a problem, but… how many of them would be a problem? Where do the CH/EU draw the line? Would there be a customs to pay? It’s for personal use,I’m not gonna try to resell them. I don’t want to be on the cover of Aaurgauer Zeitung with the headline „Seltsamer Mann beim Schmuggel von Rivella und Mirador erwischt“…

Alrighty teens and adults of reddit, i need advice! I just recently applied to a bunch of jobs near me for summer work and hopefully long term career work, and istg, after 2 minutes of applying to be a host at olive garden, they reached out to me and was like, You wanna schedule an interview? And so of course i scheduled it and i now have an interview on June 13! I'm very happy and a bit excited for it, buuuuuut, there's just one problem....It's my first job (Don't hate on me alright, some people start later than others) and i don know what the fuck to say and not say, you feel me, I'm a bit nervous and i need some good advice, any of y'all got any for me? Preferably from teens and adults who've worked or are also in the hiring process! I also applied to several Starbucks locations and still have yet to hear back from them, so I'll update y'all as time passes! Id greatly appreciate any and all help!

Can we get an inclinometer app pushed? Maybe it lives as an option in the instrument cluster area, and comes with warnings when the pitch and/or roll are near maximum?
This is an adventure vehicle. I use it off-road. This would be a great addition, for me.

There is a major intersection (two multi-lane large arterial roads intersecting at a stop light) near me where FSD freaks out more than half the time I reach it.
It drives great around here in general, but coming up to this intersection, four times in the last week, it's had an emergency red-flashing TAKE OVER NOW "autosteer failed due to system fault" error while driving down the center of a normal lane through a green light with nothing weird going on.
Lane markings are normal, lights are fairly normal, traffic seems fairly normal, weather is fine, sun is not in my face....
Thought it was a fluke, but it happened multiple times this week in exactly the same place (but coming into the intersection from different directions each time).
One time, after passing the intersection, the FSD visualization was jacked. It showed me driving sideways across traffic with cars phasing in and out of each other and the lane markings 45 degrees offset from my direction of travel. Very very odd.

Hi, I'm a college student living in an apartment, and I've been playing the piano for about 17 years now. I am really into classical but also want to explore other genres a little. I've always played on the family upright, never owned a digital keyboard.
My school's practice rooms have implemented a new system this year that makes it nearly impossible for non-majors to practice for more than 10-15 mins at a time. My mom kindly offered to buy me a keyboard for a birthday gift, but I am undecided on which to buy.
I've read up a lot and right now I'm focusing in on these three models.
The FP-60X is a lot cheaper, but I read that PHA-4 to PHA-50 action is a huge upgrade, and I don't know if it's worth it. For context, some of my recent repertoire includes Chopin's 1st and 3rd Ballad, Ravel's Une barque sur l'océan, Beethoven's Waldstein (in progress), and Scriabin's Nocturne for the Left Hand (in progress).
I found a used RD-2000 for $1700 (keyboard alone, no accessories) listed on the website of my local secondhand music shop, which is a really good deal. There's also a music store 30 min away that sells new FP-60X and 90X. I'm planning to go check them out later today. Of course, how they feel will contribute to the decision, but for right now, the other factors are:

• MOBILITY: I will probably be moving apartments at least once a year for the next 2-3 years, so a cabinet piano might be disadvantageous since it costs an arm and a leg to move each time. That's why I listed all keyboards here.
  • If I buy a cabinet stand for a FP-60X or 90X, will I be able to move it (the keyboard in a case/bag and the cabinet separately, in a cavan) without a piano mover, or is that still a bad idea?
  • What kinds of stands do you recommend for RD-2000? Are there any cabinet stands out there that will fit it? If not, how sturdy are the foldable kind of stands?
• RESALE PRICE: I might sell the keyboard after graduation because I'm planning to move across the country. So depreciation rate will play a role.
• SOUNDS: The RD-2000 is obviously superior to FP-90X in terms of the number of sounds and the amount of control you have over it. How useful will that be for someone who is just starting to explore non-classical genres?
• PEDALS: I don't know how sturdy standalone pedal units are, compared to a pedal extension on a cabinet stand. I played on my friend's keyboard which came with a free single pedal, and it keeps swimming away like a fish. I'm sure it's finished painting the Mona Lisa by the time I finish playing a piece. Will this problem be less severe for something like the RPU-3 (3-pedal unit)?
• PRICE: I am aware RD-2000 needs more accessories compared to FP-90X, such as a music stand and an amp. However, it looks likely the RD-2000 will still come out to less than the FP-90X in total, as long as I don't drop 400 on a giant amp.
• Considerations for buying secondhand: The shop doesn't know how long the previous owner had the RD-2000, and there's no manufacturer warranty, but the shop itself has a 60-day warranty.
• AMP: I'm looking at the Roland Mobile Cube amp right now. Thoughts?

I'd appreciate any recommendations for small amps, keyboard stands, and cases/bags. This was a really long post so thanks if you've read so far!
