Time sure flies, doesn't it? We are about to ring in a brand new year, and as we do so, the release of Grand Theft Auto V is now more than six years old (and is fast approaching five years on PC). Given the time that has elapsed, it is certainly possible (maybe even plausible) that Rockstar Games is deep in development on Grand Theft Auto VI. To that end, a supposed QA tester claims to have the skinny on the next installment.
We should preface this information with a disclaimer. There is no way of knowing if the supposed QA tester is what the person claims to be, or if any of the leaked details are accurate. All we know is that it's been a long time since the last Grand Theft Auto gaming (though Grand Theft Auto Online has been receiving continued updates and support).
What is interesting about the situation, though, is the anonymous source first posted the leak on Reddit, and it was removed by the moderators. It's not clear if perhaps Rockstar Games pressured the mods to take down the content. All that said, let's jump into it.
The folks at Dexerto managed to preserve the post. According to the original poster, the map in GTA VI is "huge" and covers to major cities, those being Carcer City and Vice City. Carcer City is based on Boston, and Vice City is based on Miami.
According to the leaker, GTA V is a "schoolyard playground" compared to the massive map in GTA VI. The leakers says Rockstar Games improved the weather effects and polished things up, borrowing from its experience on Red Dead Redemption 2.
"The map is huge, like stupendously huge, hence the game's emphasis on air travel. It makes GTA 5 look like a schoolyard playground. There is an array of atmospheric effects that bring out the life in everything. Light pollution, hurricane winds, morning fog, etc. I've never seen an open world game this realistic before," the leaker wrote.
Grand Theft Auto V Plane and Traine
Assuming all that is accurate, it would be a good opportunity to inject real-time ray tracing into the mix, though there is no mention of that. Instead, the focus is on the size of the map. The leaker says it's so big that it's "a little awkward traveling from Boston to Miami," in part because there are no other major cities in between them, in the game. Expect a lot of air travel, if that's the case.
The leaker also says GTA VI will again put players in control of multiple characters, just like in GTA V. One of the protagonists is said to be "an undercover cop or something," and other might possibly be a sibling. In addition, the leaker says Rockstar Games "complete revamped" the mission design.
"You can permanently abandon some missions or take different routes that sprout different consequences," the leaker says.

Hi all! So me and my pal have been LOVING the new update. There is so much action happening all the time now on the Sea!
Anyway, so fun story today. Me and my mate ride a sloop together, and today we set out to do a Fort of Fortune that we spotted on the horizon. We immediately noticed two ships, a brig and a sloop, docked at islands adjacent to the fort but on opposite sides of eachother. Keeping our attention on them constantly, we completed the Fort and IMMEDIATELY got the Chest of Fortunes and made a run for it. We knew they'd be coming, and this was the one thing we wanted; after all, it's not about the gold!
At this point, the brigantine had focused their attention on something else. After a brief encounter with the sloop, we could tell we were outmatched, so instead we thought to put their sailing skills to the test! We headed straight to New Golden Sands and our plan was to get as close to the island as possible, swing around the edge, drop me off with the Chest and hand it as quickly as possible over to the Sovereigns to seal the deal!
The other sloop was pretty aware of what we were doing so they anchor turned and shot a guy over by cannon once they were within range. He raced me to the Sovereigns' Tower, but I just barely outpaced him and turned in the Chest before he gunned me down like a dog.
Anyway... This is where things get interesting and what I would like to discuss. He told me and my friend that we "didn't earn" that Chest, and went on to use some pretty toxic language. He also made fun of us for using swords... You know... In a pirate game.
It was a super fun time, but this encounter did leave a bittersweet taste in the mouth as this other crew was so toxic for no reason. I think what we did was perfectly reasonable considering we'd gauged their skill and determined we couldn't take them on. We played the game the way we knew how, and in my eyes, WE WON.

I was born and raised in Fort Myers, specifically Lee county. I am now in St. Pete and looking to move due to personal reasons. What is the renting situation like? I’ve looked around and prices seem comparable to my current city. I’m torn between PC and Venice area. Just tough finding a good spot for the right price. I will commute to St Pete for work. I have uninstalled and reinstalled drivers, I have updated the GPU, and the BIOS, I have booted in Clean Mode, I have booted in Safe Mode, I have downloaded USB Audio Drivers, I have updated firmware, I have checked troves of threads and help articles, I have disabled audio enhancements and any 3rd party software; I have paid for 3rd party software to scan my computer, remove corrupted registries, and update drivers. I have checked the website of every company who manufactured a component or peripheral or application that comprises my PC. I think I've exhausted all the possible solutions I could think of over the past 5 days, so I'm coming here for help.
The problem:
Let's use an example sentence whose audio is being sent through either my speakers or my headphones: "Hello, I would like to go to the beach with you tomorrow."
Under normal circumstances like last week, I hear this sentence spoken crisp and clear. Now it sounds like: "He-ello-o-o-o, I wo-o-o-uld like to go - the beach with-ith you tom-morr-o-ow"
Absolute garbage. As I said in the opening, every way I could think of to phrase what was happening to my audio ("garbled", "skipping", "corrupted", "broken", etc) has yielded absolutely no results. No step of any process offered any change or improvement.
Strangely, when I used the crappy internal speakers of my monitor it didn't sound garbled (just sounded like I was hearing it from a landline phone across the room, which is why I don't use those speakers).
Willing to try basically anything, but would really prefer not to have to do a clean install if I can help it.

Hi everyone, This is a doozie and I think I might be the AH, but I wanted some opinions. I'm a (48m) who inherited a beach house from my grandfather. The house has been in my family for generations, and it has a lot of sentimental value to me. I am now with my long-term girlfriend for seven years after a divorce from my first wife which ended on good terms. She has a daughter from a previous marriage, and I have a daughter from my marriage as well. Our daughters are each 17 with mine being basically three months younger. Kara, the oldest will be 18 in May.
Kara has been in my life for seven years and we have a good relationship however she has an active father in her life so I did not fill that role. I was in her life 50% of the time so I have no doubt I played a large role in her life, but I wouldn’t say father, but others do say a nonlegal step-father. I have my daughter, Emmy, half time as well aside from Summers where I had her more due to my and my ex’s lifestyle. With that said, my ex and I have a good relationship as does our daughter with all of us. Kara and Emmy have gotten along, and they are friendly. They have made plans independent of myself and my GF but they don’t consider themselves sisters or best friends.
Now to the issue. Kara will be going to school near the beach house and has asked if she can live in it to save the money which would be significant. Emmy approached me and has said she wanted to live there after the Summer but wanted to live alone while also in school. The home is more than big enough for two, but she pointed out that they have very different lifestyles and would be far more comfortable alone or with a friend if I insisted she live with someone. It was a frank conversation and she brought up the fact that the home will be hers one day, so it made sense, and she’s right, the home will be hers by law in a few years as I will pass it to her.
My GF and Kara are very upset and calling it favoritism and pointing out that she will already be set for life between having a free ride to school via scholarships and housing while Kara will be using loans. And may have to take a gap year or attend another school altogether. They are asking me to reconsider, and I think I’ve damaged my relationship.
AITA for this decision? I agree that it’s favoritism, but Emmy is my daughter… Of course I’m going to favour her, right?

This is not in any way favoritism because you aren't married and you do not share assets. You haven't legally adopted Kara and the house isn't some asset the girlfriend will ever be entitled to. Girlfriend and Kara are acting entitled and are 100% in the wrong. I would put the house in your daughter's name as soon as she turns 18 and let them know you have no say in what she chooses to do with her property. Again they were never entitled to any part of this lake house.

The girls living together as a roommate situation during school is hardly uncommon and learning to deal/live with people who live different lifestyles and whatnot is a valuable skill.
I have to go against the mob here and say YTA, OP. It’s still your house, not your daughter’s. You’ve admitted that the area is barely affordable for a middle class family, let alone a student, and that neither your partner or her ex would be able to contribute enough financially to make finding secure housing feasible. Ultimately, it’s your call to make. Your bio daughter would like, but certainly doesn’t need, a whole ass house to herself, whereas the girl who has been in your life for the past seven years needs safe and affordable housing. Give in to your bio daughter’s demands, and you’ll be showing your partner exactly how much she and hers mean to you: very little. This could be a relationship killer.”

I spoke to Emmy and her mom and let them know where I stood, and that was beside Emmy, but I also felt that Kara and her mom deserved a genuine conversation. The conversation was this past Friday.
The talk started out ok. Obviously there were some emotions, but I started the conversation with telling everyone, there would be no yelling and tears would not be used to influence anyone. After it was all said, and we began I just proposed the situation as:
“This is a second home that I own fully and outright. It will be Emmy’s fully legally and in name in a few years, but as of today, it is mine- however, like the house, Emmy is mine and my responsibility. No one but us is entitled to it, and make no mistake, Emmy is indeed entitled to it. It may not be fair in your eyes, but it is what it is.”
“Emmy I can see why they may think it’s selfish as the house can accommodate you both, but I will support whatever you want to do. This is not a discussion to change your mind but to better understand it. “
It started pretty bluntly from Emmy and her mom saying they didn’t understand why she didn’t want her to live there as this would dictate a huge part of her future. The answer was half expected, and the other half hard for everyone to swallow.
Emmy said she didn’t trust Kara to actually focus on school and not make the home into a party house. She point blank asked Kara if she could actually accept not having guests over. Kara said something like “a few people two or three days a week wouldn’t be a problem.” The answer should have been “yes.” Emmy said she wouldn’t feel safe with her bringing over strange men whenever she wanted and her dad would want to visit, and she doesn’t trust him at all. She said School was her main focus and staying safe would be a worry if Kara was there.
Kara and her mom got defensive, but I told them it didn’t matter. She can’t say she won’t bring people over tells me all I need to know, and my daughters safety is paramount, and kara focuses were blurred. Socializing is fine, but perhaps I was wrong and it had gotten out of hand. I told my GF that as her mother she would have to address that, and that whatever the plan would be for Karas schooling had she not ever met me would have to be her course of action,
As for Emmy after the conversation I told her she would have a roommate as I felt it was important. She was ok with that and asked if she could ask a friend. I told her yes so all is good there.
As everyone guessed, GF is now ex-gf. She asked me to stay somewhere else for a week while she found somewhere to stay. I reminded her that this was also my house, but she was free to leave whenever. She ended up going to stay with a co-worker, but something happened. She asked to come back, but I told her it wouldn’t be wise.
That’s the update. Daughter is happy, I’m better than I thought I would be, todays a new day!, Ex will figure it out, and Kara has time to learn and grow.

Damn, I miss those bands

Homeowners living close to the beach were able to apply for a roof grant where they would receive $6,000 if approved. Basically it’s to encourage homeowners to have stronger roofs put on to hopefully cut down on insurance claims after hurricanes. TP paid a little over $6,000 so had to use a little bit of personal funds. The funds HAVE to be put toward the roof through an approved contractor. The insurance company issued a 1099MISC to TP in the amount of $6,000. Only info on the website is “currently grant funds carry a tax liability, but consult with tax advisor”. IMO I don’t feel like the grant should be taxable since it has a specific purpose? It lowers TPs basis, but I don’t think it should be taxable. Of course the 1099MISC throws a wrinkle in though… Thoughts?

Our first cycle in turmoil for more than four years was a success. We took the unusual step of withdrawing all public fortification targets, to study what the many non-organised Aisling pledges (and 5C deprived of their usual prep target) would do when bombarded by pleas for help each time they logged in.
Dynamic moves late in the cycle ensured enough fortification and undermining was performed to achieve our objectives. Aisling scrapped all eight turmoiled systems: Grovichun, Gabjaujis, LHS 4031, Kaukamal, Ch’eng, Guuguyni, Ienpalang, and Wonomi. This gains around 220CC. We are reduced to 69 spheres, with some room for manoeuvre.
We remain in turmoil this week, but only Asurasairu is threatened. This former Edmund Mahon territory is our most recent acquisition, a cool place we do not intend to lose. It isn’t profitable, but is worth more to the Federation than it is to us. So we ask for an extra effort this week as we relaunch public forting targets.
In the week that Fdev announced that he would be leaving the Presidency (but not necessarily Powerplay) ZYADA retained sufficient capacity to deny Zachary Hudson his expansion to Selgeth. Only Felicia Winters has an expansion this week, looking again to peg Hudson for 7CC with the long-coveted Dongkum. We expect a big push.
Aisling is grateful to all contributors; in particular the inner circle of planners who maintained spreadsheet mastery and the utmost secrecy throughout the scrap, and those frustrated red-teamers who were ordered to not turn in their hard-won combat merits. UPDATE: the response on this post was so much higher than I expected it to be and it DEFINITELY made me realize this is not as normal as I thought…. lol. I will be reevaluating/changing this friendship. If the changes I implement don’t do anything, then I will be taking a big break from hepossibly just a forever break. I really appreciate the encouraging responses and also the brutal honesty - definitely opened my eyes to how not okay this behavior is. Also just to be super clear - this is not about being tan lol! It’s about the insensitivity on her part and her intentionally using my insecurities against me. Thanks everyone :)
Okay warning - some of you will probably read this and want to laugh at how stupid it seems, but if anyone can empathize I need you right now lol. My best friend of 5 years has consistently used my insecurities against me when I have something really good happen to me. For example, I would get a boyfriend and it would cause her to be jealous. I got engaged and wanted to get in shape for my wedding and suddenly she was “so sad she went from a size 00 to 0.” For reference, I had body dysmorphia and was very thin and in shape but had told her about this and how i was feeling insecure. Rather than build me up, she sent me mirror selfies every day of her abs (yes, she would mention that her abs “looked good today”). Now, I’m having a baby and she’s doing it again. I used to go to the pool & beach year round because I used to live in a warm climate. I would ask her to come with me all the time and she would tell me she doesn’t like to tan because it’s boring. I honestly did a major glow up and lost weight and got super tan about a year into our friendship, which gave me a lot of confidence and got me attention from some of our friend circle. Well, I mistakenly mentioned to her that I really “miss being tan” because now I live somewhere that has cold winters so I can only tan in the summer time and I told her that being tan is the only thing that would make me feel pretty because being pregnant has given me acne and obviously a super cute baby bump, but at the time it hasn’t turned into a bump yet. Within ONE day, she decided she is on a mission to get tan and sends me constant texts and snapchats about being tan and getting to tan in the winter. I sound absolutely crazy but I know she’s doing it on purpose. I asked her to stop sending them to me because it makes me sad I can’t tan here now and she completely ignored it. Now everytime she talks about it I genuinely get SO MAD. Ugh. She still hasn’t had good luck with relationships and tells me all about how she wants to be married and I know it’s hard for her that we are in different places in life now, but I am just so frustrated at this point.
EDIT: just wanted to add another example. I’ve been really honest about the way pregnancy has been making me feel physically - throwing up, nausea, major stomach aches. So I’ve had to change my diet a bunch to accommodate my finicky stomach and I can’t eat so many of the foods i’m CRAVING. The other day I was texting her how sad I am that I had to eat a potato for dinner. She then followed it up with asking me which restaurant she should order herself food form for dinner - and included my favorite restaurant from my old hometown. Then said “sorry that’s so insensitive of me but i need help deciding” :/
EDIT: Also wanted to add, I’ll be seeing her at my baby shower and I’m scared she’s gonna comment on how she’s so much tanner than me and I might either cry on the spot or have a full on rage moment.
EDIT: for those of you asking why I’m friends with her still, that’s a totally valid question. The biggest reason is that when she does this it’s always in phases. And it’s definitely consistent with my big life events. So the “in between” times she can be completely opposite and had so many great qualities…which makes it confusing. Also we’ve been friends for so long it’s hard… but, I understand why you’d ask why I’m friends with her completely. Definitely need to think about some things
