Part 1. Chapter 1. A ship pulls away from a Suzail pier, carrying, in disguise, the Archmage Vilenthral, High Priest Master Colhoun Mindient, Overseer Eilhom Brickertag, an ancient gold dragon wearing the form of a high elf, Grand Marshall Lord Jamus Pickerel, and somewhat bizarrely, Lord Pickerel’s grandmother. They head out into the Dragonreach, bound for unknown ports.
This story is not about them. Several piers away, a shabby looking but well-kept ship, Sea Sprite, pulls away from the dock with a load of wares to sell in other ports. Also aboard are Dillium Pikles (sometimes spelled by Dillum Pickless by unsuspecting humans), a female elven priest of Ilmater; Lythanderallys, a high elf that Dillium has nicknamed “Emo Elf”; young Lord Finister Eldroon (Finst), a human currently on a trade mission for the queen of Cormyr; Lord Eldroon’s groom, Dalton PathHome, an attentive halfling; Novos Demedichi, a tall, dark haired human clad in dark colors; Mrs. Potts, a plump elderly lady traveling to visit her sister in Raven’s Bluff; and her granddaughter Myriam Selligrew, along with assorted bags, chests, hatboxes, suitcases, trunks, garment bags, boxes, and pressed flowers. The other passengers also have their own gear. Discussions amongst the passengers are muted after Captain Drask’s lecture and during dinner, and most drift off to sleep early.
The first port of call is Marsember, a large Cormyran city. While only in town for a short while, Dillium gets into an altercation with the local port police while defending a band of mischievous street urchins, before returning to the ship to hide from the authorities. Finst and Dalton take a tour of the port areas of the city and learn of the impending end of the world by dragons, as described by a strange half-naked man. Novos and Lythanderallys remain onboard, absorbed in their own affairs, while Mrs. Potts and Myriam tour the ladies’ haberdashers and purchase extravagant hats.
The next port is Urmlaspyr, a largely independent city-state generally on friendly terms with Cormyr. It is here that Finst and Dalton take in a 'live action play' in a local tavern. Dillium attends the local temple (to the Triad of Torm, Helm, and Ilmater), but as a healer, she is called to a local tavern to care for a wounded tavern keep. Finst applauds the outstanding acting as Dillium, Dalton, and three bystanders care for the tavern keep and take him to the temple for healing. The father of the temple rewards Dillium with a silver falcon (which is a unit of coin in Sembia, and not a metallic bird). Later that night, Finst asks Dillium to reprise her act at dinner, but she declines. Novos and Lythanderallys remain onboard, absorbed in their own affairs, while Mrs. Potts and Myriam tour the ladies’ tailors and purchase flowery dresses.
A day or two at sea brings Sea Sprite and all aboard to Saerloon, a huge but somehow under populated city further down the coast of Sembia. Over a period of several days, Sea Sprite offloads and loads cargo while Mrs. Potts commands the assembled passengers to partake in a 'shore party'. Believing, apparently, that a shore party is indeed some sort of celebratory gathering, she commandeers a quaint cafe in a central square and commands them to serve finger sandwiches and dainty cookies to her friends and a few passersby not quick enough to dodge out of her force of personality. As night sets in, the shore party retires to a local hotel, shaped and built like an imposing keep (but actually quite comfortable inside). Brunch is buffet style, which Finst delights in and eventually has to be dragged away from. Novos and Lythanderallys have disappeared, possibly back to their rooms, still absorbed in their own affairs. Mrs. Potts and Myriam tour local cobblers and purchase dainty flower-themed slippers. Dillium intends to attend the local temple, but is spooked by the sight of a full temple to Bhaal, a quite unpleasant god of violent and ritualistic murder. She attempts to return to the ship, only to be turned away (as they are still loading cargo). She continues on to her own temple, and runs into Finst and Dalton.
Finst has decided to shop for a souvenir, of Sembia or Saerloon or something else is never really identified. He heads for the nearest disreputable-looking souvenir shop, and after bargaining with the shopkeep, purchases an ivory tooth. Or perhaps a tusk. In any case it has a quite fetching symbol on the top and appears to be old, so Finst buys it and hands it off to Dalton to carry. The carved trinket may never again appear in this story, so it may not be important. As they leave the shop, they run into Dillium, and are accosted by a short nasty goblin. After a tense conversation where words like “possibly stolen property” and “witnesses” are uttered, an ornate and expensive looking scroll case that may or may not have recently belonged to the archmage Llorianda de la Alas ends up in Dillium’s hands.
Many miles away something crawls from the slime at the bottom of a dark quiet lake.

Gorian Surlan, a white teacher who was at Parkdale Collegiate Institute in October 2021 when the incident occurred, pleaded guilty to professional misconduct before a three-member panel of the Ontario College of Teachers.
On Oct. 29, Surlan showed up at school, dressed in black clothing with his face painted black and was wearing a black fabric mask that covered most of his face from beneath his eyes to his chin. Administrators saw him arrive and asked what he was supposed to be. Surlan said he was a zombie.
That day, photos of Surlan in blackface began circulating on social media, parents started complaining and media made inquiries. By day’s end the Toronto District School Board had put Surlan on home assignment, while it conducted an investigation.
The TDSB fired Surlan about two weeks after the incident because of the deep distress he caused at the school community.
The TDSB has a multi-pronged approach to combating hate and racism, including anti-Black racism, which aims to move beyond performative responses. Its anti-racism and anti-hate strategy seeks to better affirm students’ identities and improve professional learning, school-community relationships, employment equity and a school’s culture and climate.

Hi all! Guess I am ultimately looking for advice on how to deal with sadness or disappointment when partners forget important stuff. Forewarning, I’m going to include a lot of detail, bc I just need to vent and don’t want to tell my friends or family about it
A bit of backstory here: My partner and I have been together for two years and today is our two year anniversary. This last month we’ve been on a road trip of sorts looking for a house in Washington, we found one and put an offer in on it which was accepted. So we did the long drive home to sell our house in Minnesota and get all the things ready for the big move. So a lot has been going on, and on top of that, my partner ( who works from home) has a had a stressful time at work lately. Preface that to say this last Friday, my partner and I are chatting and he exclaims oh shit Wednesday is our anniversary! I haven’t done/ gotten you anything! Have you done anything? Which I replied yeah I have a little something in the works. He replied Can we just say we’re buying each other a house as our anniversary present? (We went half and half on the down payment) And I said Babe let’s not worry about gifts but I do want us to make it special and celebrate it. He knows cards, letters or special tokens are my favorite things to exchange. He knows this because there’s been a few occasions that have been forgotten, gift buying stresses him out and so I’ve told him babe you don’t have to buy anything, cards or letters are really my favorite thing, but that’s also slipped his mind a few times too.
So I had planned out a date night at home, I designed a menu, and signs, to make it look like our dining room is a little restaurant, I made invitations “Anniversary date night” location: our dining room. I designed a big collage of pictures from our last two years, and paired that with a big love letter. Got all the things professionally printed, so the invitation and menus look real, had the “restaurant” signs printed on poster board so I could hang them like a real sign. I went shopping for everything for dinner, bacon wrapped dates, duck breast with mashed potatoes and chocolate lava cake. And also stuff to make him breakfast in bed and a fancy champagne for us to open on our first night in our new house. I was so excited to surprise him with all of it.
Where the enm part comes in. We are enm, we take breaks from it from time to time, and like I said we’d just gotten back from a trip on Sunday( we didn’t do anything nonmonogamous while on our trip in Washington) So yesterday morning I asked him do you mind if I make plans later in the week or next week. We both gave each other the all clear. He had a busy day too, and in his free time chatted/ sexted with like 10-20 people, trying to line up plans for sometime this week or next. I had a lot of stuff to get done between work and trying to get everything finished and ready for today, so I wasn’t lining up any hookups for later. At the end of the night he exclaims again oh shit our anniversary is tomorrow I haven’t gotten you anything fuck, did you do anything? And I was like yeah I did, I know you’ve been busy with work so I understand you forgetting. But really I felt hurt because I knew he’d spent all his free time during the day sexting and lining up potential hookups and forgotten totally about our anniversary. He felt bad and I told him I just wanted him to enjoy the day tomorrow, and not to feel badly because I understood his stress levels lately.
This morning I surprised him with all of the things, and he absolutely love everything. I was really happy, and it was really special. (A little underlying sadness bc I would have loved a card or some flowers) nonetheless I was still really happy he liked everything. Then he goes in his office and resumes sexting and chatting with people like yesterday. And I ended up feeling hurt. I wished he had used just a little of his time yesterday to write me something, rather than chatting all day on bumble, grindr, fetlife, and Facebook dating. And then it just felt uncool after the surprise this morning to go back and do the same thing as the day before. I don’t know if I have a right to feel hurt here and I don’t know how to mitigate feeling sad that he forgot, and feeling sad that rather than remembering to do anything he spent the day sexting and chatting instead which is alright for him to do but would have loved if some of his free time had gone towards just a little something for today. Any advice?

Just wondering how other folks are doing a few days after. I have had subs coming off oxy when my dr stopped prescribing due to office policy and it worked nearly instantly but moving from tia (10-15 sodium gpd) day 1 was still very challenging. Now day 2 I still have zero appetite and have to gag down anything. Mood is still on the rough side and still having withdrawal symptoms here and there. Mostly sweating like absolutely crazy. Should I take some clonidine? Any advice in general would be welcome.

I am happy to answer any questions, but I am going to try to keep this short and to the point.
My husband and I had our wedding in August 2022 and we hired a videographer for $2500. Our contract states that the video should be ready in 1-6 months, but he had worded it in such a way that we couldn’t go after him legally if it was longer than that, which fine great whatever. We are approaching 10 months, and every time we contact him he does not respond to us or if he does he gives us some bs excuse about how busy he has been and how many weddings he did last year etc. He even lied and said he sent us the usb, and that “if we don’t receive the physical copy by insert date then he will send the copy via digitally on that date”. When we didn’t get either by that date we were like okay what the hell dude? And again more excuses. We finally got something in the mail from him last week, but the usb is corrupt. My husband is good with computers and tried everything to try to get the video up and it just seemed like it wasn’t even on the drive. So, we messaged him about it and what a surprise he never responded. I plan to demand our money back obviously, but he’s leaving us with no wedding video from our day and so I am just wondering how much would be reasonable to demand on top of the amount paid since we are now left with nothing from that day?

SAN DIEGO, Jan. 26, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- NeoVolta Inc. (NASDAQ: NEOV) – NeoVolta Inc., manufacturer of Smart Energy Storage Solutions, announced today that it expects California’s recently updated Net Energy Metering (NEM) program to drive increased demand for energy storage systems.
On December 15, 2022, the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) issued a decision to update the NEM tariff to promote consumer adoption of solar and battery storage. The program will go into effect on April 13, 2023. According to the CPUC, the move was designed to financially incentivize Californians to install both battery and solar systems.
The CPUC stated that the current NEM 2.0 program was not aligned with California’s grid reliability and climate goals, noting that the increased use of electricity between 4 and 9 p.m. causes dependence on fossil fuel gas plants to meet the demand. With the battery storage incentive, the CPUC hopes to see an increased adoption of residential energy storage that will better support the needs of the grid, with customers saving self-generated solar energy for use in the evening hours.
An additional $630 million in state funding has been set aside by the California State Legislature for residential low-income solar plus battery storage adopters. The decision bolsters federal incentives provided by the Inflation Reduction Act for solar and battery storage.
It’s important to note that NEM 3.0 is not retroactive. Rooftop solar systems installed under NEM 2.0 will remain under that policy for a 20-year grandfathering period. This means existing rooftop solar owners who add a battery after the April 13 deadline will not be subject to NEM 3.0.
“We expect that NEM 3.0 will make Californians more aware of their energy consumption, encouraging them to conserve energy and pair rooftop solar systems with battery storage,” said NeoVolta CEO Brent Willson. “Californians who adopt this strategy will dramatically reduce their electrical bills while increasing their energy resiliency during periods of prolonged blackouts, fires, and flooding.”
California’s vast solar plus storage market has a dramatic impact on the grid. On December 15, 2022, the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) issued a decision to update the NEM tariff to promote consumer adoption of solar and battery storage. The program will go into effect on April 13, 2023. According to the CPUC, the move was designed to financially incentivize Californians to install both battery and solar systems.
The CPUC stated that the current NEM 2.0 program was not aligned with California’s grid reliability and climate goals, noting that the increased use of electricity between 4 and 9 p.m. causes dependence on fossil fuel gas plants to meet the demand. With the battery storage incentive, the CPUC hopes to see an increased adoption of residential energy storage that will better support the needs of the grid, with customers saving self-generated solar energy for use in the evening hours.
An additional $630 million in state funding has been set aside by the California State Legislature for residential low-income solar plus battery storage adopters. The decision bolsters federal incentives provided by the Inflation Reduction Act for solar and battery storage.
It’s important to note that NEM 3.0 is not retroactive. Rooftop solar systems installed under NEM 2.0 will remain under that policy for a 20-year grandfathering period. This means existing rooftop solar owners who add a battery after the April 13 deadline will not be subject to NEM 3.0.
“We expect that NEM 3.0 will make Californians more aware of their energy consumption, encouraging them to conserve energy and pair rooftop solar systems with battery storage,” said NeoVolta CEO Brent Willson. “Californians who adopt this strategy will dramatically reduce their electrical bills while increasing their energy resiliency during periods of prolonged blackouts, fires, and flooding.”
California’s vast solar plus storage market has a dramatic impact on the grid. I want to start making slap stickers and don't know if they're good enough. Yeah, I know the "don't think too much about it, someone is going to rip it off in one day", weather and all those factors, but in an imaginary world where the sticker perse don't get destroyed by someone/weather, is the sharpie marker going to be there for a time or it's going to fade away in a week?
I know there are better markers but for now those are the ones that I can afford and don't want to spend that money on something that is just going to fade away in some days.

My husband and I had our wedding in August 2022 and we hired a videographer for $2500. Our contract states that the video should be ready in 1-6 months, but he had worded it in such a way that we couldn’t go after him legally if it was longer than that, which fine great whatever. We are approaching 10 months, and every time we contact him he does not respond to us or if he does he gives us some bs excuse about how busy he has been and how many weddings he did last year etc. He even lied and said he sent us the usb, and that “if we don’t receive the physical copy by insert date then he will send the copy via digitally on that date”. When we didn’t get either by that date we were like okay what the hell dude? And again more excuses. We finally got something in the mail from him last week, but the usb is corrupt. My husband is good with computers and tried everything to try to get the video up and it just seemed like it wasn’t even on the drive. So, we messaged him about it and what a surprise he never responded. I plan to demand our money back obviously, but he’s leaving us with no wedding video from our day and so I am just wondering how much would be reasonable to demand on top of the amount paid since we are now left with nothing from that day?

If it was the #1 album I wouldn’t be mad about it. It is just simply one of the most influential albums ever released. Elton John, Prince, Micheal Jackson, and George Micheal all have stated that this was their pick for the best album. It’s a record that just holds you in and explores so many musical styles. It took Stevie two years to complete this juggernaut of a record. Even though I personally prefer Innervisons over this one (I just think it is a tightest set of songs and love the funkiness of the album) there’s no denying the scope of this album. The album opens with the sermon done in R&B music “Love’s In Need Of Love Today” That mellow groove is so entrancing. I love the back-up vocals that give this song a sense of warmth. “Have A Talk With God” has this weird funky groove much like Prince. I think Stevie incorporates spiritually and religion into his music and doesn’t make it seem too preachy. “Village Ghetto Land” has this lush orchestral sound even though it is just Stevie voice and a synthesizer on the track that music is in contrast to the subject of the track. As Stevie describes some awful imagery of a poor neighborhood it almost feels like he is giving a tour to a group of wealthy tourists exploring what they conceive a poor urban area to be. Such a brilliant take on racial and class divisions in this country. “Contusion” is a funky mostly instrumental jam. Some great guitar work on the track that melds perfectly with the funky grooves of the song. Mike Sembello handles those guitar tones on the track. One of the things different about this album then other Stevie albums is the fact he worked with session musicians (150 played some part on the record) to give the record a more of a live feel. This is one of the songs that definitely benefited from that. “Sir Duke” is one of Stevie’s signature songs; it has this funky jazzy sound that echoes all over the place. The title is a tribute to jazz legend Duke Ellington who passed away in 1974 two before this album’s release. He wanted the song to honor his jazz heroes Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitgerald, Count Blaise, and Sodarisa Miller are all mentioned on the song. The song is just filled with high energy grooves mostly thanks to that horn section rocks it all over the place. “I Wish” continues funky jazz grooves that harken back to the day of Stevie’s youth. That horn section once again drives the song but also that funky bass line by Nathan Watts steals the show. That bassline is one of the reasons this song is one of the most sampled Stevie songs. “Knocks Me Off My Feet” has this warm sturdy R&B groove that also has some lushness to it. Some will recognize “Pastime Paradise” from its use in Coolio’s “Gangsta Paradise” ; there is such anxiety on both versions of this song. Those menacing strings/synths just build and build until it finally crescendos on the closing minutes of the song. “Summer Soft” just feels like a song that you would play driving down the road with the windows down on a nice summer day. It just bops and flows. It just feels warm and happy. “Ordinary Pain” has this miditemp groove that just feels infectious. This is one of the great troupes in Stevie’s musical visions. I mean the man is a genre all his own. “Isn’t She Lovely” written for Stevie’s daughter Aisha. It continues the funky warmness that flows throughout this album. This song is just sensational. It has been used in so many tv shows and movies. “Joy I My Tears” is a love ballad that could be about his daughter, lover, or his spiritually. “Black Man” is a quick history lesson in black pride. It would make Ron Desatis and his anti-woke propagandists blow a gasket. That funky jazzy groove just sounds electrifying. “Ngiculela-Es Una Historia-I Am Singing” just feels joyous and what music should be all about. Love the rhythm of the track. “If It’s Magic” has this great harp that is featured throughout the whole track. It just sounds mystical and entrancing. “As” has this sprawling mid tempo groove that just feels big. It features Herbie Hancock on keys. There's a gospel vibe flowing through the whole song. Stevie changes his voice at the midway point to a more gruff tone. As he preaches about how we have to change our ways. The official end of the album is “Another Star” which has this epicness to it. 10 musicians appear on the song with Wonder. Including George Beneson on lead guitar and actually takes over lead vocals towards the end of the track. I get a very latin vibe in the rhythms. It is a great way to end the album. This is just a great musical statement by one of the greatest musical forces ever. Stevie Wonder’s run of albums in the 70’s is some of the greatest music ever recorded and should be on everyone’s bucket lists. Still my goto fragrance when I don’t know what to wear JPG le beau - My ex used to wear a body mist similar to this but not le beau, whenever I smell coconut vanilla, I know she walked into the office. Nostalgic scent for me. 8/10 Hugo Boss Unlimited - Bought this 3years back. One of my girlfriend recommended it, it was a blind buy because she loved it so much. Very fresh fragrance but performance is weak. Still have a soft spot for it though. 8/10 YSL Y parfum - Recent purchase. Got it from TATA luxury in discounted price. Went with the community’s choice. Not a fan of apple not at the start but it has such amazing dry down. Such a versatile fragrance. 9/10 |

Hey, I’m a woman with way too much free time on her hands. I spend the majority of my time indoors. My routine kind of looks like this if you’d like a glimpse into my daily life: Wake up at 4, due to my meds causing a stir in my brain. Stay up reading until 8. Walk the dogs and cats at 10, and go skating somewhere around then. I also tend to get up to roof yoga when the weather is nice. Though, I wouldn’t completely be opposed to doing it when it’s raining. I just prefer sunnier days, though my disposition may say otherwise. I’m much happier in person or on phone, promise.. which is something we can work up to when the time is right. I love hearing voices, it tends to make me squeal with happiness.
With that having been said, please no flirting or ill intentions, I’m a married woman. But I don’t mind having male best friends so I can grab onto the drapes of our (you and I, that’s our secret hideout) ginormous windows and complain to you about how housewifing is so difficult. Woe is me woe is me etc etc etc.
I listen to all types of music. But my favourite tends to be Bon Iver because his voice is incredible to my senses. And you can’t tell me “he’s not a type of music” because he definitely is, just look at him. inserts picture here. Yeah, see?
I’m a ballet dancer by day, and an avid lover of classical literature by night. I can talk about books and my growing collection of Shakespearean plays all day long. The plot of many (inside and out) and name a few that I adore. Won’t mention it here though, because what’ll we have to talk about then?
