So back in my first attempt at recovery which just became BED (2010) an acquaintance of mine on Facebook (like, my now-husband’s best friend’s then-girlfriend) shared a T-shirt on her page and her post showed up on my feed. It said “Camp Ana Wanna”. Now. Something to know about me is that I have been Extremely Online forever. Most on my online activity pre-2014 was in proana forums. So, being me, I obviously interpreted this as “wannarexic” (an outdated term that meant someone who hangs out in proana forums wishing they were anorexic). I DMed her right away, offering support and encouraging her to stay away from that content online. She DMed me back immediately and was like “ummmm this is a shirt from the 90s Nickelodeon show Salute Your Shorts??????” and blocked me. Hey! I'm a 25-year-old female and I'm looking to roleplay 1x1 with a male on Discord between 19 and 30 years of age. Please note before I speak further, I am a working individual, I'm not available around the clock so if I don't reply immediately, it's because I'm asleep or working and I'll get back to you as soon as I physically can.
This is a long-term roleplay that I've been writing for 11 years so I have a lot of character development in place for certain characters (not the detective, he is completely your own to create, backstory and all). I'm looking for someone detailed and descriptive in their writing; I'm not looking for a Shakespeare novel but I don't want one-three liners either. I play multiple characters so I'm looking for someone willing to do the same so I'm not talking to myself. The only characters you don't need to play are my OC and the boy within the prompt which follows - I take these on board. I do not bite so feel free to ask at any point if you are unsure! My OC is named Rochelle who is 25 years of age, she has long blonde hair and hazel eyes, standing at 5'2" like yours truly. I'm happy to provide any further OC information via PM or just discuss this further there.

It is the year 2143 and over the past couple of years, but much more recently, there’s been a lot of concern and worry in families around the county/state you live in due to people in their twenties disappearing into thin air. This concern had grown so high that this was now being discussed on a much wider scale. All media outlets were reporting on the disappearances every chance they got in the hopes that one viewer or listener had information on at least one of the individuals and would get in touch. Nobody ever did. Eventually, the police created a detective agency to help themselves out with the cases. Detectives had been door to door multiple times around every single neighbourhood in the county/state and there was still no luck whatsoever. The police were about to give up on their search and make all of their cases cold but your boss Craig, a 54-year-old man, sent you on the final investigation to stake out at a mansion down, what everyone always believed to be, a deserted road overnight. If this investigation came back empty, all the cases would run cold. He knew it would be a dangerous mission, lives were at stake and if anyone who willingly lived at the property found out the police were literally on their doorstep, every single victim could easily be shot and killed. This meant that before you left, Craig gave you a few undercover outfits to wear to choose from, all coming under a homeless-type attire to try and gain sympathy and a room, even if just for one night. One night could be all that stood between you and solving the case. You finally arrived at the creepy-looking mansion after two hours of driving, arriving at 11 pm. The sky was pitch black, rain pouring down from above and very quickly soaking you to the bone. You knocked on the front door of the mansion to see if there was any response or to see if this place truly was deserted but, to your surprise, the door opened after a few minutes. When it did open, you were greeted by a young boy at 16 years old standing in the foyer before you. He wore a full black suit fitted with a white tie in a cravat knot. The boy held confidence in the way he stood but you noticed, after studying body language as part of your intensive training, there wasn't a slither of confidence in his eyes. "Can I help you, Sir?" He asked tiredly. Once he spoke, he glanced up to the beating rain then looked back at you while he awaited your response.

Despite your opinion, he is unanimously a great golfer, just not great enough to hang with the best in the world a second time. This just shows how well conditioned these pros are both physically and mentally, they’re on another level. They’re consistently in headlines, accustomed to the pressures of golf media, but more importantly they are constantly prepping and playing in huge events. Block hasn’t felt that pressure, he hasn’t had to play with the world on his shoulders, he doesn’t have the mental fortitude of a PGA pro. This all equated to him finishing dead last at 15 over par prior to the weekend, and considering the leader after two days was 12 under par, he wasn’t on the same planet as the rest of the field. Despite the missed cut, and several news media outlets attacking his character, he stayed at the course for 3 hours post round to sign items for the kids. Sure he has made some snobby comments, but overall this story has been good for golf. It has brought tons of eyeballs to the sport, and created a narrative for non-golf people to follow. I have followed multiple install guides and can't seem to get xone working. I have an old xbox one controller (no bluetooth) with an xbox wireless adapter and an 8bitdo ultimate wired controller, both of which require xone to work on steam deck. I have tried guides that have me go through all of the steps manually, and I have tried the script that is supposed to install and update automatically. My controller firmware is up to date and the controllers work fine on windows pc and xbox one. My USB hub works fine with all other accesories and dongles. I have factory reset my OS several times.

Looking at picking up a decent rod for the first time and i live near the factory outlet for fenwick, so i could get a brand new world class 4wt for $75. I also have the option of a fenglass 4wt for $80. I’m currently using a walmart fly rod. I have a reel with good line already so I’m just looking for a rod at this point. Any experiences or opinions would be great.
Edit: I am open to other brands as well, mainly thinking fenwick since I can get them brand new for a steep discount. Price range is under $250

I bought two LG 60s off eBay, sold as new. Compared to my old V60, the old one had the IMEI etched into the cashback, the new ones only have a white sticker with the IMEI and "Made in China" The old one had a rubber gasket around the Sim tray, the new one is a different shape in that area with no place for a rubber gasket nor does it seem to be water tight. Now to the biggest issue, the old one had perfect flat, immaculate glass front, on the new one you can see various imperfections and undulations. Did they change the factory, are they using different grade parts? All three phones are the LG 60 US variant for T-Mobile.

Stalemate.
How he hated the word.
What an awful state of affairs. To think his glorious army couldn’t subdue the humans. The fleet and those soft admirals and captains had brought them to this moment.
Always trying to slow down any progress.
Always trying to delay.
Caught up in infrastructure and supply. Endless counting. Endless reconnaissance. Endless prattling.
But no more.
The dead human had been their salvation.
A malfunction had cast him off course and rapidly depleted his air supply. The soldier had taken his own life before having to suffer the agonizing consequences of slow decompression.
The plans he carried had been verified. The window to strike with the information they had was closing. A knockout blow could be delivered to the humans at minimal cost to their own forces. It was perfect.
He would convince the Emperor at the next meeting. He had too!

Stalemate.
The Emperor of Ten Thousand Stars could hardly bear the infighting of his advisors. Let alone the actual war.
Not for the first time he lamented his lot in life. He had been trained to rule as an able administrator. Not a warrior like his brother. Or his famous father who had struck so deep at the humans and their holdings. Both gone now but their ambitions could not be so easily reigned in even after their deaths.
A 230 year war was winding down with no victor.
History would remember him as a wimp. A loser. A weakling. The Empire might very well be dissolved from within. Every noble on every planet would see any negotiations as a ripe time for overthrowing him.
Or so it had seemed.
The High Marshall of the Infantry had conceived a daring strike with information they had gleaned from a dead human military courier. He had carried immensely important information about a buildup of something of vital importance to the humans.
He was no warrior but he was no technocrat either. He couldn’t quite understand the importance of two planetary sized factories being destroyed.
But he understood numbers.
To put such resources into not one but two stellar factory hubs? And then to lose them both? The loss in industrial capacity would be immeasurable. It could collapse the humans and their republic. The loss of such great technical and manufacturing hubs had brought galactic powers to their knees in the past. No reason to think it wouldn’t work on the humans.
He gave his blessings to the strike.

Stalemate.
The war was lost. The High Admiral of the Navy was certain of it.
Former High Admiral he thought to himself.
It wasn’t that the plan was terrible. It was the sheer cost of moving such a large amount of ships and supplies. And at such breakneck speed. How could you move, gather, organize, and push with 9 fleets in less than 4 weeks? How do you even coordinate such a thing? There would be losses just from disrupting the set timetables for supply and patrols. The humans would notice.
These army fools were great at their own narrow expertise. But were wholly unable to grasp the intricacies of void combat and its logistics.
It takes years to build a simple cruiser. A complex dance between hundreds of competing noble bureaucracies to enable thousands of workers and tons of materials, equipment, and supplies to be ready and stockpiled just to ensure everything goes smoothly. Months to fill out the roster. Months more of training. Months still of drills and shakedown cruises. And then you have to keep them alive in battles long enough for that cruiser to start being able to reliably learn their roles and their limits.
He was positive that the plan would work but he simply could not believe that the two manufacturing nodes were so poorly defended. He would lose assets that were sorely needed on other fronts. The game of logistics was a game of expertly navigating catastrophe. And the plan would be all or nothing. That isn’t how you run a campaign even if it was foolproof. There was no proof success would bring down the humans. Hadn’t the last 230 years proven the humans staying power?
The army simply used their infantry forces as fodder. Wave after wave. Brute force. But a navy had to be smart and strategic with its resources. Elegant in its maneuvers. Decisive in its actions. To overextend was death for a fleet. And this would be the mother of all overextensions if it failed. 9 fleets were at risk. Every strategic reserve was being thrown in. They would win but at what cost?
And now, he mused, here I am. Hoping for the best of the people who ruined his career. Was it really so bad to negotiate? The Empire would probably go through violent convulsions but there had been no usurper in over six thousand years. It had always worked itself out.
He really hoped they knew what they were doing.

Madness. Stupidity. How could so many be so blind?
It was almost certainly a trap. How could it not be? A courier ship just happens to fail. The occupant just happens to hang himself right as his air runs out? The identity easily confirmed. The personal effects were spot on.
It was all too … convenient.
The courier shouldn’t have carried such detailed plans. Though it would be a perfect way to ensure operational security of a defect in their command. He admitted that openly. But … it was simply too perfect.
It was obviously a ruse.
But you can’t convince people who do not want to be convinced.
The Emperor saw a way out of the war he never wanted to inherit and enter history as a mighty Emperor. The High Marshall could retain his position and be remembered in history as a great commander. The High Admiral had been relieved but his main objection had simply been the extent of the plan rather than the obvious bait. Other advisors and technocrats had all sided with the Emperor. Everyone wanted a way to maintain their position. And no one seemed to think on the implications if they failed.
No one listened to him simply because he was not of noble birth. He had risen to his ranks with painful attention to his work. Nothing he pointed out had even hit a nerve with anyone.
Human patrols were noticeably lacking aggression. Why?
Human naval raids had decreased by nearly 18%. Why?
Reduced ship counts in human convoy runs had been observed. Why?
The human munition supplies to 5 different systems had dropped by nearly 55%. Why?
WHY! WHY! WHY!
Where the hell was it all going!?
A counterstroke was in the works. But he and his intelligence assets had no idea where and when. And they wouldn’t have any reserves to stop such an attack if their own attack failed.
It was hard not to think that it was coming immediately after the deployment of their best strategic reserves.
What would they really find at those coordinates?

Stalemate.
To think it might be finally ending. All of it.
The General stared at the corpse lying on the table.
His old friend. His old battle companion.
It was finally over.
The General looked over his shoulder to ensure his staff had left him alone as he had ordered. He took off his hat and jacket. Untucked his shirt and rolled up his sleeves. And began to clean up the corpse of his friend. A man who had once saved his life on a distant battlefield. It was the least he could do.
The strain had been too much for him. The trauma of it all had driven him to drink. Eventually costing him his marriage. His career. Everything.
He couldn’t even hold onto a job in any of the industries that so sorely needed labor. The despair and the drink eventually had driven him to rage.
And that rage had led to him murdering 2 workers at his local pub one day.
The verdict had been unanimous. The sentence? Death.
But the General had conceived of a new way to honor his friend. Let him get one more blow at the enemy. The corpse of his friend had to be just right.
His friend was now a Colonel in military intelligence. He would be carrying papers to that effect. He carried a digital letter to his wife letting her know he had put the drink behind him. Tickets to a local opera on Halcyon IV. An address tablet filled with appointments with important individuals.
He also carried a report too valuable to send over an open ftl comm line. A very important report. A report that would lead to the end of the war if the enemy bought into it. But they wouldn’t find a largely undefended strategic manufacturing hub. Mines, ftl inhibitors, and death would be all they found there.
The General began rolling down his sleeves. The corpse was cleaned up a bit. But not too much. And it was good they had hung him. It would be that much harder to ascertain anything amiss.
The General wondered what peacetime might be like finally. War was all he had known.
He chided himself. There was still a war to fight. No guarantee the enemy would even believe any of it.
He sure wouldn't.

Alright, so my (18f) close friend (17f) picked up smoking half a year ago J
And I... kind of disapprove... a lot.
I found out she started smoking when I met up with her after her school ended later and mine ended early, and we went to go shopping. She came over with a few of her friends who were on their way home, and all of them had a cigarette in their hands. I suspected from the beginning that she was stressed out over school, and then the few friends she'd gotten all smoked, so she both felt pressured in order to socialize with them and felt pressure from the school to get some sort of outlet. This she confirmed when I asked her.
Now, looking back, I can see I probably didn't handle the situation very well, which is why I'm making this post, but I made it clear to her that I did not agree with her choices. Every time she took out a cigarette I'd send her a disapproving look and she'd smile sheepishly before lighting it. I'd refuse to step outside from parties let her smoke, bc I knew she wouldn't do it alone (these were private parties where I knew everyone, I wouldn't do this if there was a danger of her going outside with a stranger). I'd groan or verbally berate her every time she brought it up.
I want to explain my reasoning: her friends were pushing her into to it, so I thought she might need a friend to also keep some sort of leash on her so she at least wouldn't go further into the hole. I knew I couldn't and shouldn't make her stop if it wasn't on her own accord, but hopefully I could help the problem from growing bigger.
She never showed any signs of being annoyed (unless it was playfull) at me, but a few weeks ago I finally realized how uncomfortable it could be. The next time we were together, I told her I really wanted her to tell me if I crossed a line, and I'd shut the f up. I would much rather know what is going on with her and not share my opinions, than her lying to me to make me think she was doing better out of fear or annoyance, when she's in fact not doing good. She promised me I wasn't being overbearing and that she'd always want to talk to me about it (actually, that I wouldn't be able to stop her from talking about it to me) to which I hope she wasn't just saying. I think she meant it.
She's started a stop-smoking course and I bought her a little book that apparently should help you keep track of your process, and encourage and motivate you. I read a bunch of fun facts about the appearance part of not smoking (like your scars heal quicker and you're less prone to wrinkles), and some about the health part (that after 5 years you're half as unlikely to get health problems regarding the heart and after 10 you're as likely as a non-smoker. After 15 years you're half as likely to get lung cancer and after 20 you're as likely as a non-smoker) which seemed to encourage her.
Now, the problem with this is, I feel like I can only be so judgemental over her lifestyle without her beginning to seriously get tired of me.
She sent me a snap a month ago gushing about how romantic it was that this 25-year-old man who was on his way home from his business party at his firm sat in the train for way more stops than he needed to because he thought she was so attractive that he just had to speak to her. He was okay with her being 17 and even kissed her after walking her home. At the time I just thought it was a red flag that he was so much older and didn't care that she was 17, but now I'm seriously disturbed by the fact that he has her address. I don't think he was a predator, luckily, but still. And this was right after a seriously disturbing kidnapping case as well. I just laughed at it at the time, because I didn't feel like I had a right to tell her I didn't think it sounded quite well, but I have paid attention to wether or not she mentioned him again, which she didn't so he's luckily out of the picture. Otherwise I would've told her my opinions on it.
So, to sum up: how do I help her? how do I support her? where does the line go from supportive to overbearing? what would you smokers who're trying to quit like to hear from your friends?

Within two months of getting it the inverter pump shorts the fuse, can't even get a code read because every new fuse I kept putting in there kept shorting. Replace that.
Then the fairly new 12V dies. I replace that.
Then the hybrid battery, refurb, but in good condition and less than a year old, starts losing life percentage at a rate of like 2-4% every couple of weeks until it reached critical levels. I replace that with a greenbean which is doing okay so far.
Then my combination meter dies. Okay, I replace that.
Now my inverter pump died again, this time stranding me in the middle of nowhere on a 90+ degree day in Texas with like 90% humidity. Working in the sun fucking killed me.
On the same day the air outlet damper servo motor started dying, the tell tale clicking noise behind the steering wheel upon braking tells me so at least.
I've owned this vehicle five months. This honestly probably isn't even everything that I've replaced, it's been so many issues I can't even remember all of them. The inverter pump, servo motor, and combination meter were all in the last two weeks. I've thrown about half or more of the value I bought this car for into the car so far. To me, since the only mechanical issue I've had break is the water pump, there has to be a central cause within the electrical system. This car was owned by two previous owners who took good care of it and regularly maintained it, the first one owned it for 16 years. The previous owner threw in a brand new inverter pump in the box for me along with a bunch of other stuff (roof rack etc) when I bought it, which tells me he probably experienced inverter pump issues too.
Anyway, what the fuck is going on? I don't have $150 for a diagnosis from a dealer, how could I diagnose myself? Is there a way to fix this or is this car just so kaput it'd be better for me to find something before it fully dies on me?
