Hey all! How's your weekend treating you? Hope it's well! I'm over here just waiting for a disaster for me to clean haha. I've seen some pretty nasty things and it blows my mind how people do the things they do. I'm pretty relaxed and open and I'm more interested about you! Some basic things I enjoy hearing about are games, music, people, life, problems, you! Send me a song, I'll listen. Tell me about a game. Maybe I've played it! You want a miny nasty story? I guarantee it was one where I had a crappy time 🤣. Looking forward to hearing from you and happy holiday!

2023.05.28 18:51 Redder_Creeps Mario's Tunnel Of Doom: my take
This is probably the only time i've ever said and will ever say something like this, but honestly: this episode was pretty garbage so for my first ever episode review, i'll just go through it step by step.
1) One Shot Wren: He's getting a few seconds of screentime only for a quote? Really? This is starting to get old, let the guy show up and actually do something already. I've seen a post in the sub about this video that said how he could have solved the relationship between Mario and Meggy and i honestly agree, but if the writers will just keep mentioning him then sorry, but he's not going anywhere with this. I admit, i do appreciate that he's getting more screentime, but I feel like he can show his potential if he somehow gets to interact with the main cast in the future
2) Meggy in general during the episode: Now, i'm not one to complain about her, especially because she WAS one of my favorite characters, but i gotta admit that this episode just showed her at her worst. Also she fights with Mario. Again. And this time she actually was in the wrong too, because as Mario said at the end: "If Mario wasn't endangered, they would have never acted brave!" (i'll touch on the bravery aspect in the next point) and so far Meggy never got as far as to take the credit for these kind of things, so yeah i guess you could say this episode was the straw that broke the camel's back.
3) Luigi and Tari: Surprisingly i feel 50/50 about them in this episode. On one half i am completely fine with them; them finally standing up for themselves and not be scaredy-cats anymore is actually pretty good character developement for them, especially Tari who recently suffered this fear aspect the worst. But on the other half, I feel kinda "meh" about this whole mini-characterization arc. Because let's be honest with ourselves for a sec: we all know it won't be a thing anymore in the next episode.
Overall, the episode is good on paper, but kinda bad in execution. I feel like i've made my feelings on the relationship between Mario and Meggy for this episode pretty darn clear, while Luigi and Tari's training before entering Mario's Tunnel was kinda cringy (especially Meggy acting pretty cringy too, but still).
So my score on this is 4.5/10. Now excuse me while I see this post most likely age pretty badly

2023.05.28 18:49 feelingprettypeachy 29 [F4M] 🔮 fade into you, I think it’s strange you never knew 🔮 USA
Hey, just your average confused life-crisis post.
Well, half-kidding.
I was in an accident 3 ish months ago and it’s looking like I will be in a wheelchair for a long time. Hard to face at 29, but I can’t do much about it other than move forward.
So, before the accident I had a normal boring job, educated, a social life, traveled a lot, etc.
I am currently trying to figure out how to get back to those things. And because I am spending so much time alone and unable to do much, someone to text would be so nice!
I’m really into gaming, I play a ton. Currently playing tears of the kingdom, I was playing persona 3 before that.
I love animals, baking, painting, reading and watching movies/shows too. I have a dry sense of humor but I promise I am very very nice.
I’d love to talk to someone who can hold up their end of a conversation, who can ask questions and who wants to get to know me as a person. I don’t care what you look like, but I do tend to like people who are interested in similar things. I also would ask that you be close to me in age (like no younger than 27 and no older than 40)
Oh, also I’m left leaning, have tattoos and piercings. A lot of people give me grief about that on the internet for some reason.
So, give me your best weird introspective questions. Let’s talk about our deepest secrets or share photos of our meals or whatever.

2023.05.28 18:48 Weebru_m UN Centre for Learning and Surgery Medical Group RP
Hi folks, I'm looking for people to join my newly launched RP group based on the likes of Grey's Anatomy, HouseMD, ER and other famous medical dramas!
The year is 2025. Following the release of the UN Special Investigation report into the Coronavirus Pandemic 2 years ago, the global community was shook as the report alleged that the COVID-19 virus was indeed created in a lab and furthermore accused China of deliberately releasing the virus on the global population. Immediately after the release of the report global leaders were quick to condemn China in the strongest of terms, and swiftly China was isolated from international markets and diplomacy. The previously rich superpower swiftly tanked in economic rankings.
In reaction to this, a devastating coordinated international event occurred - where mass casualties of civilians were bombed, stabbed, shot or ran over across all NATO countries and many developed worlds who condemned China. Hospitals became overwhelmed simultaneously as the world looked for answers as to who was responsible. China denies involvement - however an insurgent group "The Crimson Dawn" based in China has quickly rose to prominence and claims responsibility.
Recognising the urgent need for a centralized hub of medical expertise, the United Kingdom, the United Nations, and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) joined forces to establish the UN Centre for Learning and Surgery (UCLS). London, with its rich medical heritage, strategic location, and world-class healthcare system, was chosen as the ideal host city for this ground-breaking institution.
The establishment of UCLS aims to create an internationally recognised Level 1 Trauma Hospital capable of providing the highest level of specialised care to victims of large-scale international incidents. Its primary objective is to serve as a center of excellence, fostering collaboration among medical professionals from different nations and disciplines, while also enhancing the training and education of future healthcare providers.
With substantial financial backing from the UK, the UN, and NATO, the UCLS is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, cutting-edge medical technologies, and a highly skilled multidisciplinary team. The hospital's design incorporated the latest advancements in medical architecture, ensuring a seamless workflow and optimal patient care.
The UCLS is hoping to become an international beacon of hope and healing, ready to respond swiftly and efficiently to any large-scale incident occurring across the globe. Its mission extended beyond immediate emergency care, encompassing the entire spectrum of medical services, including surgery, critical care, rehabilitation, and mobile healthcare - working in collaboration with the UN Peacekeeping Force to deploy physicians to all corners of the globe if needed.
Recognising the importance of continuous learning and knowledge dissemination, the UCLS prioritises research, innovation, and education. It has established collaborative partnerships with leading medical institutions, universities, and research centers worldwide, facilitating the exchange of ideas, expertise, and best practices. The hospital will become a hub for medical training, hosting workshops, conferences, and symposiums to foster excellence and promote global medical advancements.
The UCLS's dedicated staff comprised a diverse mix of highly skilled healthcare professionals from various countries, representing a wide range of medical specialties. These experts brought together their extensive knowledge and experience to provide comprehensive, compassionate, and culturally sensitive care to patients, regardless of their nationality or background.
This new major hospital is set to open its doors soon - so what role will you play in saving lives?
Drop me a message for how to join

2023.05.28 18:46 No_Personality_3446 2 weeks Tuscany & Amalfi: Safety, transport, and itinerary questions
Hey everyone! A friend and I will be travelling to Tuscany and Amalfi Coast for 2 weeks in June. I'm hoping to get some advice about our itinerary: from safety, to transportation, and general itinerary questions.
I've frequently travelled alone as a single female—even to remote places like in Siberia, but so many people have told me about theft, etc, around Italy that I've become a tad bit worried! We will have large suitcases (with cameras and laptops for work) and generally stick out like tourists even if we dress low-key, etc. I'd be grateful for any tips on the below, or general feedback about our itinerary :)
Day 1: Arrive in Florence at 11 PM alone (with 1 big luggage + backpack). Will it be okay to take a taxi from the airport to Airbnb—or is it better to book a private car?
Days 2-10: Hopping around Tuscan towns and renting a car. We'll be staying at different hotels/bnbs/Airbnbs. Is it generally okay to leave stuff in the car—or should we take everything from the cars at the end of the day?
Day 11: Drive from Tuscan town to Rome. Train from Rome to Naples, then private car from Naples to Sorrento or Massa Lubrense. Is it best to book train tickets in advance (e.g. via Italiarail?) How is the train station in Naples and what should be aware of? Has anyone taken a taxi or private car from Naples to Sorrento—and can recommend a car company?
Days 11-14: Amalfi Coast (Amalfi, Positano, Sorrento, Ravello, Capri) with no car. Will likely do taxis or ferries due to time constraints (rather than bus). Wondering if 3 days here is a bit rushed? And how inconvenient it will be with large suitcases?
Thanks all and happy travels!

2023.05.28 18:46 CutestCuttlefish Tips on Hardware (or Software) for testing Web based AirPlay (and chrome cast)
So I need to add chrome cast and airplay support to a web project that uses video.
I have a solution for that but no way to test it since I don't watch TV since like 7 years or so (just not that interested) and thus don't have a chromecast dongle and have not touched the Apple ecosystem in over a decade.
So I'm looking for a cheap solution to test the airplay (mainly) thing if it works and look for bugs - the usual. Is it an actual apple TV or should I get a Mac mini to remote into to startup xcode and a fake apple tv device? What has worked for you and what are your suggestions for this use case.
For Chrome cast I'm just gonna setup a fake TV on Android Studio (ADM) and run that locally to connect to. If you have any good reason to not do this (not "I don't like it" but more like "This will break in production because A, B and C), or have better solutions, let me know, but I think it will be sufficient.
OS: Linux - which is why I can't get xcode proper on my machine and was thinking of getting just a cheap second hand mac mini to run apple stuff on for testing (which is what I've done in the past but wanted to check if there were better ideas)

2023.05.28 18:36 Dark-Shiro Bottlenecking and Upgrade Order List on Overwatch with Sapphire 6700 XT and 2015 Build (i5-6600K + 16 GB DDR4 2400)
Looking to reach 300-400 FPS on 1080p and 400-500 FPS on 720p for Overwatch 2 (low to low-medium settings), minimum latency enough for Top 50 ladder. In the process of upgrading parts as summer job pay comes in (want to upgrade tightest bottlenecks first).
Any budget or high value (FPS per dollar) CPU, RAM, SSD, gaming monitokeyboard suggestions would be greatly appreciated, or just reliable brands.
PCPartPicker Part List Current Upgrade Order is
6700 XT, Alienware AW2523HF 24.5" 1080p 360 Hz (from 60 Hz Office Monitor), CPU (from i5-6600K), RAM (from 16 GB DDR4 2400), SSD (from 1 TB HDD), a budget TKL keyboard.
Swapped out a GTX 750 Ti for a 6700 XT, BIOS reset, reinstalled Windows instead of DDU. Got roughly 250-300 FPS on 720p Overwatch 2 bare minimum settings and 60-80 FPS on 1080p (+20 FPS from the 750Ti). Not sure if unoptimized settings are playing a role or if it's all bottlenecking from old parts.
Any budget or high value (FPS per dollar) CPU, RAM, SSD, gaming monitokeyboard suggestions would be greatly appreciated, or just reliable brands.

2023.05.28 18:36 bostonronin Recommendation for Batocera, Moonlight, PS2/PS3 on a 4k TV?
Hi All,
I've started looking at a few options for a MiniPC for Batocera and streaming on my 4k 65" TV. Looking for something that can handle PS2 games comfortably, PS3 would be nice. Plan to also use it for Moonlight to my regular desktop running a 4070ti elsewhere in the house for Steam.
I'm a little stuck on how fancy it needs to be. Something like an HX99G seems like overkill, but I'm wondering if there's anything out there Also, I keep seeing little things here and there about Miniforums and Beelinks having overheating problems. Should I be looking at a more mainstream manufacturer like Dell/Lenovo?

I'm starting my degree in just over 3.5months and I'm looking for some recommendations of what to study now. The modules I'm taking don't have a reading list but there is descriptions of what I'll learn in each module.
https://www.birmingham.ac.uk/undergraduate/courses/physics/physics-bsc.aspx. Modules include Classical Mechanics and Relativity and Mathematics for Physicists. I'm either looking for a book recommendation or just a direction to study in. Thanks
I've done A level maths and physics, but not further maths. I'm not 100% on how this equates to American education, but I think I've completed calculus 2 but not 3.

2023.05.28 18:32 ThrowAwayHolidayFail How much longer should I (25f) keep waiting for my depressive partner (28m) to improve? I feel like my life is on pause.
TL;DR: My fiance is in a difficult situation with his job, but he doesn't take any steps to change the situation sustainably. He burdens me with a lot of emotional load caused by this and it is going on for a while now. I start to wonder, if I'm wasting my time waiting for his improvement and if it may be better to end it soon.
Hey y'all! This is my first post ever on reddit. I hope, I do follow all the rules :) (and sorry for the length. I didn't know how it shorten the story)
My fiance (m28) and I (f25) reached a point at which I wonder, if our relationship even lasts. We met 5 years ago and started out as aquaintances. We did so much together, travelled a lot, did all kind of fun activities and it was just great. We hit it off so good and about 3,5 years ago we started dating, moved in together and got engaged. It was great, we never had a major fight about anything, we share the same morals and got along with chores etc as well. We still did some great trips, however about half a year ago, this all changed.
My partner has always had some issues since I know him and I start to wonder, if they will ever get better (or if I should even expect improvement). He is in psycho therapy for almost two years now for his depression and they work on a holistic solution (addressing other issues, taking a close look on the family dynamic in his childhood and this kind of stuff). I think, that the therapy did help him, but I start to doubt, that the therapy will do enough for him. (It feels so bad and wrong to say it that way.)
Since I know him, he does always struggle with his job. He is a hard-working and skilled, experienced and educated, but only in crafts. He did not go to college after high school, because this was his wish (and I think, that this is completely fine). However, he hasn't found a job yet that he really likes, that's why he changes his job every few years. He doesn't put a lot of effort into finding a good job though. I tried to talk to him about the importance of a propper application, but he doesn't really see a point in them anyways and hates writing them. His plan is to write them thoughtless and get some jobs that may promise to be right and then find another job this exact way, if the previous one wasn't the perfect job for him. He won't go to school neither, which would allow him to do other jobs as well, because he doesn't like school. Honestly, I kept quiet until now, because I had hoped, that he would eventually find a good job and this problem would've solved itself. Hoewever, this did never happen.
The other issue, that affects me, is his inability to overcome his own bad emotions without pulling everyone around him down too. He doesn't want to do this and he feels really bad about it, however it still happens and I can't see improvement. It basically means, that no one else can enoy themselves, if he isn't in a good mood too. He doesn't provoke fights or is mean, but one can really kill the vibes, if they sit in a corner and go with "Why do you even bother asking me?!" or "*shrug * Whatever, I don't care". I am certain, that he does not do it intentionally, as I have seen this to be normalized behaviour within his family. He doesn't know how to regulate himself. I did try to communicate this with him, but he only understands it as "Suck it up and shut it up". Which is not true. I believe, that one can communicate negative emotions and yet still don't burden there loved ones with a constant bad mood. And he currently is always in a bad mood due to his job situation and I'm walking on eggshells to not get one of these snappy responses for any "stupid" or "pointless" question. I try to cheer him up and try to plan things, to distract him, encourage him to apply for another job etc. I don't know how to handle this anymore.
Today we came home early from the only vacation we could have together this year, because we can not take other vacation days at the same time together. We only did half the road trip, then on the ride to our next destination today he missed our exit (I even pointed it out to him previously, I really don't know, why he simply didn't took it or respond to me at all) and we accidentally went on the highway and had to drive quiet a few miles in the wrong direction. He said, that "This was it", took the next turn possible and we went on our way home (but he did miss a few exits too, which caused us to drive quite some miles extra, I didn't dare to ask for his reasoning, because the mood was icy). I offered to drive, since I do not want to spend the day on the road going wrong ways only and just accepted that he wasn't in the mood for holiday (this was not the first time, we quit something I really appreciated and wanted, because he wasn't feeling it. I did agree to adjusting the plans to accommodate him though). He finally agreed, and spent maybe half an hour looking for jobs, while I was driving. He finally threw his phone down and announced, that there were no good jobs available at all.
I feel so rejected by this, because right now, he is chilling with his friends in the garden doing a BBQ (maybe he's talking with them about his problems, making this time anyhow "productive" idk), instead of using our remaining holiday time to improve his situation. I'm torn. On one hand, I feel like, he should put his big boy pants on and finally write some neat applications and really put some effort into finding a job (or even going through some extra education to qualify for better jobs), even though, he may not like the process of doing this tasks. I did encounter tasks, I really did not enjoy, too to reach a higher goal. However on the other hand, I don't know what's going on inside of him. After all, he has depression and I don't. I will never experience the feeling, so I am hesitant to judge. It seems that he is not following his weird job plan that avoids writing applications and further schooling out of nowhere. He surely doesn't do this for fun. He is suffering a lot too right now and I doubt, he would maneuver us into this situation, if there was an easy way out. So I feel like, pressuring him into it, may not help anything and would only increase the stress for both of us.
On the quiet remaining ride back home today, I did question myself, how much longer I should keep waiting for him to finally get better. I think, that mid- to late-twenties is a good age to finally get your stuff figured out. When else will he? I feel like I waste my precious time by constantly adjusting and lowering my expectations according to his mood. I don't want this life for sure, but I really do love him (or at least, how he was at the beginning). I am hesitant to approach him or to even tell him, that he should figure his life out or else I'd leave. I think, that this pressure would block him only more so and won't produce anything benefital. I can't bring it over my heart to present him an ultimatum like this, because he might currently be going through something I don't understand.
Please, don't get me wrong. My partner may sound rude and reckless in this prescription, this is only because I'm describing problematic situations. He generally is kind and he acknowledges most of his wrong-doing. When we got home today, he apologized for ruining the trip and said, that I was so kind to him the whole ride back even though he acted that way.
I would love to hear your insight on how I could handle this and how I could help him efficiently. I know for sure, that I will be planning my next few trips without him. However, I don't know, how to gently tell him how I feel and I don't know, what I should tell him, which improvements or changes I would be expecting in the near future.

2023.05.28 18:29 AdOutside622 Should I leave my job and risk burning a bridge?
I am currently working remotely in a job, and while it has been a decent experience, I feel that I am not learning as much as I could be. Additionally, the remote work has been getting to me. As an already not so social person, it has been very isolating and hard on my mental health. I have been hoping to move to a different, in-person job, which might teach me more and help more with career progression. However, I recently learned that my boss will be taking a leave of absence early next year, and expects me to cover for him. I feel that, if I stay, this will be a good opportunity to prove myself to him, and perhaps get a good rec letter for a grad program that I am applying to. And additionally, if I were to leave, I feel that I would be screwing him over, as he was counting on me to cover for him during this period.
My question is -- how bad would it be to leave anyways, and risk burning this bridge? While I think I could possibly get a good rec letter from my next employer, I am worried that screwing my boss over like this might blow back on me in the future. The company I work for is a reputable one in my field.
But, I don't know if I can deal with this situation much longer. There are personal circumstances that I don't want to go into that also make this remote work situation really hard.

2023.05.28 18:29 TravelAwardinBro So I’m just a moron right? Magenta Max plan really costs $80+ a month? I paid off my phone and monthly cost is still the same
Basically I have an IPhone 11 mini I got a few years ago. I signed up with the Magenta Max plan and received the phone.
It showed up in the app as an addon and showed how many more payments I had dedicated to it. I had around $120 left and decided to just pay it off.
Well.. my bill moved exactly nowhere and I’m still paying $80 a month. I was under the impression it would just drop me down to $50 since each payment showed a reduction in the amount owned by around $33 towards the phone.
So I’m an idiot right? Think I’m going to switch carriers and get a better rate

2023.05.28 18:29 MrNavinJohnson Nepotism; My First Chat with AI
I wanted to discuss the topic of Nepotism today and rather than throwing out a random flag here on
conspiracy as per usual, I decided to give AI a shot today.
It felt dirty and I've had no desire until today to open this door, but like someone's Grandma once said, "you don't know until you know."
Here's how it went for my first three free questions to Chat GPT:
ME: Is there an occupation or profession in the world where nepotism does not have a major influence upon the selection of those who work for an industry or company?
AI: As an AI language model, I cannot definitively say that there is a profession or industry where nepotism does not play a role in the selection of who works there. However, there are certain fields that may be less susceptible to nepotism due to their strict requirements and objective evaluation processes. For example, professions in medicine, law, and academia typically rely on extensive education, training, and standardized testing to determine qualifications, which may reduce the influence of nepotism. Additionally, some countries and organizations have policies that prohibit or strictly regulate nepotism in hiring and promotion, which can help mitigate its effects.
ME: Can you be specific in your claim and site examples of how professions in medicine, law, and academia typically rely on extensive education, training, and standardized testing to determine qualifications, which may reduce the influence of nepotism, and to what degree this is mitigated?
AI: In the field of medicine, individuals must complete rigorous academic programs and receive extensive training before being able to practice. Medical schools require high academic achievement, rigorous entrance exams, and often interview processes to determine who will be accepted. After medical school, aspiring doctors complete years of residency training, pass rigorous licensing exams, and undergo evaluations to ensure competency and professionalism. This process ensures that the selection of doctors is based on objective criteria, rather than nepotism.
Similarly, in the legal profession, individuals must complete a rigorous education and pass a bar exam in order to practice. Legal education typically involves earning a law degree from an accredited institution, which requires high academic achievement and passing a standardized entrance exam. After earning a law degree, prospective lawyers must pass a bar exam to practice law. This rigorous and objective evaluation process reduces the influence of nepotism in selecting lawyers.
In academia, individuals typically must earn a PhD and demonstrate scholarly achievement before they are hired as professors. PhD programs often use standardized exams (like the GRE) and rigorous evaluation processes to determine who is admitted. After earning the degree, candidates must demonstrate scholarly achievement through publications and other achievements in their field before being hired as professors. These objective requirements and evaluations help reduce the influence of nepotism, although it certainly still exists in some cases.
While the rigorous standards and evaluations in these professions do serve as barriers to nepotism, it is important to note that the effects of nepotism are not completely mitigated. In some cases, individuals may still receive preferential treatment due to connections or family ties. Additionally, it is important to remember that these professions are not immune to other forms of bias or discrimination that may affect hiring and promotion decisions.
ME: Is there evidence to support that those groomed into top positions within their respective fields are provided access to better guides through said challenges along the way, and that after these rigorous challenges are completed satisfactorily within each example sited above, that this is where the power of nepotism lies; regarding the hiring and promoting?
AI: There is some evidence to support the idea that individuals groomed into top positions within their respective fields have access to better resources and guidance, which may provide them with an advantage over other candidates. For example, individuals who have grown up with parents or family members who are doctors or lawyers may have access to better resources and guidance throughout their education and training.
However, it is important to note that the rigor of the challenges and evaluations that individuals face within these professions is designed to minimize the influence of such advantages. The evaluation process for these professions is typically standardized, and the criteria for success are objective and well-defined. While individuals who have had access to better resources may have an advantage early on in their education or training, the rigorous evaluation process and objective criteria for success mean that only those who are truly qualified will succeed in obtaining positions of power within these fields.
Regarding the hiring and promoting of individuals in these fields, while nepotism can certainly play a role, it is generally considered to be unethical and can even be illegal. Most professions have strict regulations and codes of conduct that prohibit the use of nepotism in hiring and promotion decisions. In many cases, nepotism can damage the reputation and integrity of the profession, and as such, is typically discouraged.
CONCLUSION: I guess what I set out to prove was that there is no magical
no-pass line when it comes to Nepotism and Quid Pro Quo in the selection of who makes it to the top within any single industry. That question came up this morning while reading an article on the WEF and observing how ludicrous it seamed to me that anyone believes that any of them has any interest at heart beyond their own frenetic self-interests and that the sheer audacious postering of NGO's as decission-makers when it comes to matters of world economic, political and health issues.
I clearly had time on my hands this morning. Just wondering what your thoughts on Nepotism are and if the dumbing down of the American educational system had everything to do with those standards AI was so quick to point to were the main gate-keepers to positions like medicine, law and politics.

2023.05.28 18:27 LibraryWorldly2885 what percentage of boys like shakespeare went to grammar school?
I read that only 25% of men in shakespeare's day were literate, but stratfordians always say shakespeare "almost certainly" went to grammar school because it was free and he was entitled to. But how many boys in his day who were entitled to a free education just didn't go, or only went for a year or two? is it fair to say that if literacy was 25%, school enrollment would have been around the same? are the odds that he attended school changed by his location, socioeconomic background, or the fact that his father was illiterate?
thanks!

2023.05.28 18:26 mybigfatgreekaffect the modern 'author bio' is so morally and aesthetically disgusting that it is simply not possible that anyone who manages to complete it in full can write properly
the four things you never want to know about anyone ever, namely, where they went to university (i mean seriously holy mother of jesus), what they studied there (shoot me in the fucking face) whether or not they have a cat and what their sexual orientation is
these four things form the basic structure of the modern 'author bio' which is requested prior to publication from literary journals which surely imagine themselves to have some kind of aesthetic orientation
or not??????
honestly i am all in favour of higher education, domestication, and sexuality (broadly speaking) but how can people bring themselves to write this information down like this? what is happening in their brain?? what conceivable cognitive processes can these people be undergoing when they write down the university they went and the subject they studied there in this little box to go next to their writing>?
HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE

2023.05.28 18:25 elihu_iverson Looking to become PA-C (non-medical background)
Hi all! I’m new to this community. Growing up, I wanted to be a doctor but decided against it due to my anxiety about math and the immense amount of school/debt I’d have to take on.
But I’m 33 now and thinking about going to PA school to become a PA-C after realizing that it’s a much better fit for what I really want to do: help people with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS) and the constellation of conditions associated with it, including autism and ADHD. I was particularly inspired by my wife’s recent diagnosis with EDS, and by her PCP — a PA who is one of the most incredible and empathetic practitioners I’ve ever met.
I am currently working a corporate desk job and have been writing freelance for an online health publication for 8 years. I have a Bachelor’s in English and a Master’s in Linguistics. I don’t have any formal education in medicine, but have stayed close to the field and regularly network with people in the medical field due to my freelance work.
I would love any advice on how I should transition to becoming a PA, especially whether it’s possible (or even recommended) to begin school part-time while continuing to work full-time to support myself.
Thanks so much for your time and understanding!
