2023.03.24 03:27 Due-Violinist5278 HELLO FOLKS!!!

My name is John. I'm currently in recovery from opiates after a 20 yr battle. Fentanyl kicked my ass these past few years. I lost everything, but gained the chance to live a life of peace, freedom, and happiness, on a daily basis after only 3 months. I am trying to start a community of folks that r sober or trying to get sober that can educate and inform eachother. A place to show our talents, the beauty if living without fet, and what has worked. This page has made me some great connections. And I'm just trying to engage anybody who wants to join that wave. Today marks the 3 yr anniversary of my sister's death from fentanyl. Today for the first time I cried and found old footage of my gf and best friend and sister. All dead from fentanyl within a few months. It's killing 225 ppl per day in america on Avg. Follow my page I put in link. And check out this tribute I made for them showing their beauty and their talent. https://youtu.be/A17icWkdH-o

2023.03.24 03:27 braaandon13 [US-CA] [H] CIB Virtual boy games, CIB Earthbound Gotcha Force Kuon Rule of Rose, CIB Pokemon games GB-3ds, Gamecube Games, PS1 RPGs, Sega Dreamcast games, Good variety! [W] Paypal FF, Zelle, possibly Paypal G/S

im not sure if just an excel sheet text list is enough, so I pasted the full list here. It is extremely long so im hoping it isn't a disaster to scroll through. I recommend viewing here for the best experience. I am mainly accepting PayPal FF, Zelle, and even better if you have local cash in Los Angeles. Will consider PayPal GS depending on the deal! Some of these prices may be dated. If there is a price that is dated im happy to chat and negotiate :) Lmk if you have questions!

2023.03.24 02:36 Possible-Pack9699 Breath of the Wild Pitch Meeting

Producer Guy(PG): So, you have a Zelda game for me?
Screenwriter Guy(SG): Yes sir I do. And this one's gonna be called Breath of the Wild and be a completely open world game.
PG: Amazing. So what happens in this thing?
SG: Well the game's gonna start with Link waking up from a hundred year coma with Zelda telling Link that her powers are dwindling and Calamity Ganon is about to rise once again.
PG: Again? What happened?
SG: Well you see 100 years ago the king of Hyrule feared the return of Ganon and enlisted four of Hyrule's greatest warriors to become champions to help fight Ganon should he return, along with unearthing these ancient mechanical robots called Guardians and Divine Beasts each piloted by the Champions.
PG: Oh really? So who are these champions?
SG: Well there's Urbosa of the Gerudo tribe, Mipha of the Zora tribe, Daruk of the Goron tribe, and Revali of the Rito tribe.
PG: Well I can't wait to see these guys in action.
SG: Actually not really all they're gonna do is just sit around and talk with one another and barely even get the chance to fight.
PG: Why?
SG: Well because Ganon corrupted the Guardians and Divine Beasts and killed the four champions and severely injured Link and the Master Sword which forced Zelda to seal Link in the Shrine of Resurrection for him to heal and placed the Master Sword in Korok Forest to heal and sealed Ganon in Hyrule Castle for a hundred years.
PG: ... What?
SG: So anyways, now that Link is awake again, he needs to traverse The Great Plateau which is a safe haven from the Guardians and reclaim his lost Sheikah Slate abilities.
PG: And what are these abilities?
SG: Well there's bombs, Magnesis which grabs metal objects, Stasis which holds items in place and can be hit to move them, and Cryonis which is useless.
PG: Well ok then.
SG: And after Link reclaims his Sheikah slate abilities, he meets up with the ghost of the former king of Hyrule who tells Link to defeat Ganon at all costs.
PG: Well it's gonna be hard for Link to defeat Ganon after having just woken up without proper items.
SG: ...
PG: Something wrong?
SG: No no, everything's good.
PG: I mean I was kind of hoping you would say your catchphrase after that. The one you say basically everytime.
SG: Well anyways, the King also tells Link to go find Impa in Kakariko village who was with Link 100 years ago.
PG: Wouldn't that make her like 120 years old, how is she still alive?
SG: She just is.
PG: Well ok then.
SG: So Impa tells Link about how Ganon took over Hyrule thanks to corrupting the 4 Divine Beasts that killed the Champions, so Link has to travel to each of the Divine Beasts and free them from Ganon's control, and also rescue the spirits of the Champions as well, on top of finding his missing memories scattered across Hyrule.
PG: Sounds like a lot to do.
SG: Oh just wait until I tell you about the sidequests and hundreds of Koroks to find.
PG: What?
SG: Nothing. So Link's able to travel to any Divine Beast he wants to but here's the order I wrote down.
PG: Ok.
SG: So first is Vah Naboris, Urbosa's Divine Beast, and Link has to speak with the leader but only girls are allowed inside.
PG: Well it's gonna be hard for Link to get in huh?
SG: No it's pretty simple, he justs wears women's clothes and that works.
PG: Aw dang it. Thought I had you there.
SG: So Link meets with the leader Riju, and she tells Link she'll help defeat the Divine Beast if he recovers her lost Thunder Helm that was stolen by the Yiga Clan. So Link breaks into their hideout, fights Master Koga, and gets the helmet back.
PG: Ok.
SG: So then Riju helps Link shoot the Beast's legs with bomb arrows allowing Link inside where he defeats Thunderblight Ganon and saves Urbora's spirit giving him Urbosa's Fury.
PG: Amazing.
SG: Then there's Vah Ruta, Mipha's Divine Beast, and Link meets up with Prince Sidon who was Mipha's younger brother.
PG: So is he super old like Impa?
SG: No he basically looks and acts like a 20 years old.
PG: Huh.
SG: So Link meets up with the king and Sidon tells him that Link can help them defeat Ruta, but they don't like Link all that much.
PG: And why's that?
SG: Well it turns out Mipha had a crush on Link but was too shy to actually tell him and you, she gets killed shortly after.
PG: Well it's gonna be hard for Link to convine them to...
SG: But they eventually come to terms and Link and Sidon face the Divine Beast and shoot shock arrows at it.
PG: Wow you're really testing me right now.
SG: And so yeah, Link defeats Waterblight Ganon, saves Mipha's spirit, and gets Mipha's Grace. So next up is Vah Rudania, Daruk's Divine Beast.
PG: And what's the deal with this beast?
SG: Well it and Goron village is located on Death Mountain and it's super hot up there like instantly set on fire hot.
PG: But let me guess the solution to the problem is super easy...
SG: But thankfully Link can drink fire res potions and get flameproof armor to protect him
PG: angry grunt
SG: So Link has to save Yunobo, one of Daruk's descendants who helps Link climb up Death Mountain to reach the Divine Beast by you know, shooting himself out of a cannon to launch at the thing.
PG: Oh launching yourself into the enemy is Tight!
SG: It sure is. And so Link gets inside the Divine Beast, defeats Fireblight Ganon and rescues Daruk's spirit, and gets Daruk's protection.
PG: Fantastic. And what about the last Divine Beast?
SG: Well this one's called Vah Medoh, Revali's Divine Beast. And Link has to find this Rito Warrior named Teba who's planning an assault on the beast but Link has to prove himself first.
PG: How so?
SG: By hitting several targets in one go but it's pretty simple if you have enough stamina.
PG: sighs
SG: So then the two fly up to the Beast and knock out it's shield generator allowing Link to get inside to fight Windblight Ganon, save Revali's spirit, and get Revali's Gale.
PG: Wow, ok. That sure was a lot you story right there.
SG: Oh you don't even know the half of it sir. But I'll save that for later.
PG: Oh god.
SG But before Link can go fight Ganon, he has to recover The Master Sword in Korok Forest now that it's healed up.
PG: ... were there any inconveniences?
SG: Well other than the fact Link needs at least 13 hearts to pull it out is one but other that it's all good. So now Link is ready to fight Ganon at Hyrule Castle.
PG: And what's the castle like?
SG: Oh it's super eerie sir. Just a ton of corruption and monsters everywhere but it's also brimming with awesome loot as well.
PG: Oh wow wow wow wow ... wow.
SG: And so Link meets Ganon at the top of the castle and the final battle against Calamity Ganon begins, but not before the Four Champions use the Divine Beasts to knock Ganon's health down to 50%, and then the battle begins.
PG: Amazing.
SG: And so yeah, Link kills Calamity and Dark Beast Ganon, Zelda is saved, and the spirits of the past are laid to rest with Link and Zelda looking forward to rebuild Hyrule.
PG: The place has been decimated for 100 years and no one's ever rebuilt anything?
SG: Not at all so it'll make for a sweet moment at the end. So what do you think?
PG: Well it sounds like a great game, and all those main story missions will really drive the players forward to see everything.
SG: Yeah. ... Except not really.
PG: What?
SG: Yeah you see everything I just told you after leaving the Great Plateau was completely optional and players can just go right to Ganon and beat the game in like an hour.
PG: Oh my god! An hour!?
SG: Yeah beating the game is actually Super Easy, Barely An Inconvenience.
PG: ............................. what?
SG: Actually now that I think about it, maybe the game could be beaten in half an hour sir.
PG: Half an hour?! Is that even possible?

2023.03.24 02:32 Advanced_Falcon_2816 Grand Theft Auto is no stranger to add-on content,

Grand Theft Auto is no stranger to add-on content, but the latest in a long line of leaks suggests Rockstar might be taking a bit of a different approach for the long-awaited sequel — splitting up parts of the game to repackage as DLC.
The rumor comes from established Rockstar leaker Tez2, who says Grand Theft Auto 6 is currently targeting a release in holiday 2024 “which has been pushed back multiple times.” Tez2 adds the game may be pushed back again, into to 2025.
Furthermore, Tez2 claims Rockstar is considering breaking up the game’s content into post-launch DLC, to ensure the game can meet a release date. If GTA 6 launches in 2024, it will be a whopping 11 years since the last release in the franchise.
This wouldn’t be an unprecedented move from Rockstar, considering the approach the studio has taken with GTA Online, incrementally releasing massive updates and new story content. Notably, however, GTA 5 didn’t feature any additional story content, just updates to the Online portion of the game.
GTA Online GTA Online has managed to stay relevant for a decade with consistent updates, and it makes sense Rockstar would pivot to that same approach to single-player content.ROCKSTAR Taking this approach would let Rockstar more easily hit whatever internal timeline is established for GTA 6, and provide a road map of content to make post-launch more appealing to players. Interestingly, this isn’t the first time this kind of rumor has been brought up by Tez2, as last August the leaker reported GTA 6 would “expand over time,” adding on new cities after launch.
The easiest approach would be to create content that ties into both the single-player and multiplayer aspects of GTA 6, and creating new cities in-game could do just that. New locations could be fully playable in the online portion, while also adding on hand-crafted stories and missions. This would allow Rockstar to continue the overwhelming success of GTA Online, while story content could help attract new players or those that might not care to engage with multiplayer.
This tactic of splitting up elements of the game as DLC is something Nintendo has been using for years, to great success. Mario Strikers: Battle League, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Mario Kart 8, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and Nintendo Switch Sports, have all seen scheduled add-ons for new content, even years after their initial release. At this point, it’s not clear how much of a live-service element there will be for GTA 6, but this Nintendo-like approach would allow Rockstar to retain players who are primarily interested in single-player experiences.
GTA 5 Although GTA 5 never received single-player DLC, Rockstar’s director of design said in a 2017 interview the studio would “love to do more single-player add-ons for games in the future.”ROCKSTAR Nintendo stands apart from other developers, though, in that typically these updates are free or bundled with a Switch Online subscription. It’s a smart move, as games like Mario Strikers, which would typically have a very short shelf life, suddenly provide players with more of a reason to stick with it for the long haul. It also allows Nintendo to continue to sell its older, first-party titles with minimal discounts.
There’s no video game property in existence bigger than Grand Theft Auto, and a report in 2020 estimated GTA Online made a staggering $600 million in 2019. Even in 2023, it continues to hold an enviable place in the sales charts month after month. The popularity of GTA Online has only continued to increase over the years, and that mainstream success is exactly what’s poised to make GTA 6 such a massive success.
Breaking up content into DLC lets Rockstar bring GTA 6 back into the conversation every six months, year, or whatever release timeline suits the studio and the community best. Seeing a big GTA 6 update in a State of Play or other presentation will likely bring thousands of players flocking back to the game, and considering GTA 5 and GTA Online are still alive and kicking a decade later, it’s easy to say Rockstar is hoping for lightning to strike twice with GTA 6.

2023.03.24 02:22 TommiacTheSecond It took a while... but I finally beat Engage.

Engage was a lot harder to get into for me compared to a lot of Fire Emblem games, and usually they are very quick to draw me in. Only two titles have actively pushed me away from enjoying it, Engage and Fates.
I adore the franchise and have been a fan since Path of Radiance, and it's great to see the series return to form and back to its core routes here, especially after Three Houses' unique (although bizarre) class tweaking. The classes feel a lot more refined and the use of Emblem Rings to aid combat mechanics works really well - but story and characters make up the other half of a 'good' FE game, but unfortunately Engage falls flat on its face here.
The story might be one of the worst in the series (not the worst, I think that still goes to Fates), and the rest of the entire game suffers from it. Characters are cookie-cutter stale, the voice acting is heartbreakingly bad, and the lore is numbingly boring, clumsy, and kinda stupid. I know this is a common complaint at this point, but I don't think even Reddit can do justice to express how awful the story is here.
It's a shame too, because this concept has so much going for it and the potential is there. They were so close, but its a rushed story catering to a very specific audience. If you are that audience, then fantastic, you've got a very good FE game here - otherwise, if you are committed to picking this game up for yourself, get it solely for the combat mechanics, as that's where it shines the most.
I did enjoy what I had with Engage when I started completely ignoring everything that wasn't the battle missions itself, but it did become numb when you get to the final few chapters, that you end up getting excited just to finish it rather than the thrill of the conclusion.
Overall, my rating for Engage is a 4/10. Bang, bang average - sweet gameplay mechanics let down by a mediocre everything else.

2023.03.24 02:04 AlternativeZucc The campaigns.

I posted this on steam, but I figured if I wanted to get more feedback I should send it here as well. The campaigns are disappointing, there is no denying this. (TL;DR at the end) The Italian campaign tries quite hard to replicate Ardennes Assault while improving on what it had. It fails, although not spectacularly. The North African campaign while inoffensive, does leave a bit to be desired as well. So why is this?
In my personal opinion there are two sides to this, gameplay issues, and narrative issues.
Here's what I mean, On the game-play side what made Ardennes Assault work so well? It is in essence, a blueprint for the Italian campaign after all. What it understood however was variety, and allowing the player to influence missions. When you encircled a German territory in Ardennes Assault, not only does it make surrounding missions easier. As the retreating Germans don't buff their forces in nearby sectors. It also changes how the mission needs to be approached. Even something as simple as giving the enemy higher veterancy troops can change what I need to do when I'm entering the map. In Italy, what happens if I've encircled some Germans? I have to play more skirmish missions, and I can walk forward uninterrupted rather than playing, yet again, more skirmish missions. On the same four maps at that.
Another issue here, hearkening back to the issue of variety are the skirmish missions. As stated above there are four maps the game can choose from. Combined with four different objectives. This means that "Technically" there are sixteen different types of skirmish mission that are available. However, two of these are mutually exclusive with defense/offense. At that, the rest are completely by-passable by rushing light armor straight into the enemy base. Destroying their man production building before their re-enforcements have a chance to even spawn.
This is not possible in Ardennes assault, or the linear campaigns of CoH1 or 2. It's simple in said linear campaigns that the first and second game have. Just place artillery, mines, or even limit what the player has access to. In Ardennes assault, they placed Pak 44s inside of the German base. Meaning if you wanted in, you'd need control right outside of said base long enough for mortars to de-crew these guns. The fact that this was not done in CoH3 is a massive oversight. As there is little reason not to take either British, or USF Armored divisions trivializing what few mission types there are in the game.
"Ardennes Assault has a similar amount of skirmish missions too!" I may hear some thinking. This is true, Ardennes has roughly half of its missions as Skirmish. What is different however is that they are, each and every single one, unique. Once you beat one, it doesn't happen again in that campaign. And, when you load up a new one their locations change. This discounts the amount of Germans that have retreated to the location as well, which can also change how the mission is played. When I've needed to encircle my opponent's headquarters for the fourteenth time on the same four maps it's hard not to just run them over with early Stuart call ins. Which wouldn't be as egregious if there were unique Skirmish missions for capturing cities. Which is another point where the Italian campaign fails with variety.
As well, the linear and skirmish missions lack any change or input from the player. This can most easily be seen with Monte Cassino itself. When the idea of taking Monte Cassino comes up, Valentini urges the player to use caution around the abbey, and attempt to not harm it. Which to the games credit in real life the abbey was bombed. However, upon entering the mission. Regardless of the player's actions on the world map the abbey is bombed and destroyed. Imagine for a moment, if the player listens to Valentini and chooses not to bomb the abbey on the world map. That the abbey stays up, and the Germans have a more heavily fortified position on top of the hill. Maybe even the poles who assist you on the map can't break through to the top of the hill. In exchange, however you have increased partisan support as you climb. Or, if you haven't taken Anzio by this point? That the Germans themselves start hammering your troops with railway fire. There's very little communication between the overworld Italian map and the Battle layer outside of call ins. Which leads to a less rich experience over all.
That's enough bullying exclusively the Italian Campaign though. Now, it's time for the second half of my TED talk, I thank you for sticking with me for so long. We're about halfway through.
Narrative is important in any game, and can help dress monotony. Take the first game for an example. Most of the missions can easily be boiled down to a simple "Take the point, then defend." What makes it so memorable and fun however is the narrative behind it. Carentan is one of the best mission chains in RTS history and it's carried almost exclusively by its narrative.
Taking a look without the dressing it's actually a very bland two missions: In mission 1, take the town.
In mission 2, hold the town.
Not very interesting is it?
Now lets add the narrative into the mix: Mission 1, USF Paratroopers get caught out while attempting to enter Carentan. They move forward to establish a forward base in a church. Then spread out to take and hold the town until USF forces in normandy can meet up.
Mission 2; USF Paratroopers holding Carentan are against stacked odds defending the town. They manage to hold the three bridges into town until they are eventually overrun and forced to back up to their rear headquarters. On the ropes they barely survive long enough for the Division in Normandy to arrive. They then, together, take back the town and rout the attacking German force.
Which sounds cooler?
This is a failing that both the Italian and DAK Campaign suffer from. The Italian campaign in a less major way as its biggest failing here is not really explaining why we're at a lot of locations. Anzio and Monte Cassino are the best here. We're at Anzio because that Railway gun is shelling our boys. We're at Monte Cassino because it's the linchpin in its defensive line. Although as a whole, it's understandable as tying together missions in the more sandbox style Italian campaign is somewhat difficult. Again though, Ardennes Assault managed to make it work. In a single mission no-less, think about it. The ardennes assault tutorial did more than teach players the game. It set up the men who ran our divisions. We also got an after action report describing their reactions to each mission, and how they felt about the losses they sustained. In 3 we have Norton, Buckram, and Valentini. None of which have anything closely similar. Unless you count them giving missions or very few scripted sequences.
The DAK campaign is so, horribly, terribly, disgustingly, miss-written. We play as the DAK but the story is told from the perspective of a UKF Irregular? Most of the cutscenes are about this irregular writing to his family in a village we know very little and consequently care little about? I understand what they were thinking, trying to tell the story of a village as it passes between UKF and DAK hands throughout the war. And the treatment of Jews while it is under DAK control. This leads to two massive failings though. Firstly, we don't care about anyone we're playing as. Sure, Rommel is cool. But he's such an unhuman character. In the first game we see Men fighting with each-other, fucking around, being people. In the second we hear officers lamenting how pointless losing these men are. Or celebrating a hard fought victory. I don't care about Rommel because, I don't get to see him interact with the men. Only himself, he doesn't feel loss, camaraderie, confusion, fear, he's a man cool under all circumstances. Which could work if he had other characters to play off of.
Secondly, nobody cares about the story of the city because we don't care about the man writing the story. I genuinely believe that if the DAK campaign was a UKF African campaign this could have been aa great as CoH1. A man joining the UKF to free his home from the Germans. Being beaten back, time after time, only to learn that the Brits have bombed his village. The entire reason he's fighting? How would he have reacted after the Desert Fox's first major defeat? How would he react at learning the Germans have taken a small Jewish boy? That his wife could possibly be a partisan in real danger? We never really learn because we never play as him, and more focus is on the village than any real characters in the story. Which is an absolutely massive loss narrative wise.
This right here is the biggest failing in my opinion. Say what you will about balance, AI, buggy game design. Casuals generally play an RTS firstly for its campaign and then timidly move onto the PVP side of things. If the Campaign is lackluster however? If they never finish it? What's the point in coming back. And as it stands, nothing in the story makes me care about anything that is happening in either campaign.
I'm posting my thoughts here because I want to start a discussion. Not a hate train, I'm certain we all want Relic to improve, so how can they? Does anyone disagree? What do you all think? Remember, that you're allowed to have an opinion and I'm genuinely curious to see what people think.
(TL;DR) The campaigns provide a lackluster experience through two fundamental flaws. Weak interaction between the Italian Map, and the Battle Map. And a weak narrative structure that leaves people caring very little for anything that is happening. A weak campaign drives players who may otherwise play multiplayer away.

2023.03.24 01:59 Similar_End1089 New Player - Maxed Out Gems What to Buy?

I wanna preface with, it has been YEARS. I playwd back in the first generation and mained a gravekeeper deck because of the control and fucncionality. Now coming to master duels, ive come to understand link, pendulum and the like. With my advantage of being a new player and getting a crap ton of free gems from the missions, i essentially want to maximize my spending of them, to obtain the best cards/structure decks currently available. I love doing solo mode because i dont have to battle sweaties (heard the games now aways are way quicker and fast paced than my gravekeeper days), so with that said, what pack, secret packs, special packs or structure decks should i be dumping my 12000 gems into right now, with the anniversary being here? What decks are viable in competitive, but doesnt draw away from fun? I wanna experience everything master duals has to offer, but i also want to be smart about the free gems. Thanks in advance!

2023.03.24 01:52 Advanced_Falcon_2816 Grand Theft Auto V Loads Up To 92 Percent Faster On PS5 Than PS4 In Early Tests

Grand Theft Auto V is notable for all kinds of reasons. It's the most expensive video game ever made, and also one of the very most successful, by any measure. It sold so well that Rockstar kept the online service for the 7th-generation (PS3 and Xbox 360) releases of the game going from release in 2013 until late last year. It had moved over 150 million copies as of last August, in fact.
That number has surely gone up since then, and it's probably going to continue going up for years to come thanks to the updated re-release that's now available on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles. We've already written about what's included in the re-release, but the short version is that it adds higher-quality assets, ray-traced lighting, and 60 FPS options to the exclusively-30-FPS console releases.
ssd sony ps5 2
Unfortunately, another notable aspect of GTA V is its interminable loading times, especially on the consoles. Well, arguably the biggest change this console generation has been the move to solid-state storage instead of the spinning rust used previously. Both families of 9th-generation game consoles support disk I/O tens of thousands of times faster than the 8th-generation consoles.
Naturally the new release of GTA V reaps the benefits of that in its load times. Over at IGN, they put the new release through its paces and found that load times are drastically improved across the board. Selecting "replay mission" can find load times as much as 75% faster on the new system, while loading autosaves was slashed from over two minutes to around 20 seconds on Sony's latest machine.
ign gtav ps5 loading
As showcased in IGN's video, the difference upon starting a new game is even more mind-blowing. On the PlayStation 4, it took 2 minutes and 18 seconds to load from the menu to the new-game heist sequence. Performing the same operation on the PlayStation 5 took just eleven seconds. The player was able to get halfway through the mission on the PS5 by the time the older system finished loading.
We feel it's likely that this enormous improvement isn't merely the work of the fancy SSD, but also that of the PS5's potent Zen 2 CPU cores as well as some software optimizations. Players of GTA Online may recall that an enterprising developer found a simple optimization (arguably, a bugfix) that slashed loading times by 75%. Rockstar even paid out a bug bounty to the developer.
We still haven't heard back from Rockstar on when or if these improvements will be finding their way to the PC version of the game, nor whether there will be a charge for the update if they do. It seems likely that Rockstar is gauging the playerbase's reaction to such a thing. You can pick up the refreshed release on PS5 for $10 right now, or on Xbox Series XS for $20, but both prices will rise to $40 after three months, so get while the getting's good if you're not willing to wait a few years for GTA 6.

2023.03.24 01:50 Open-Satisfaction-36 Is defending Massawa the final quest of Joao Franco?

I was just going through all the mission trophy items of the 5 admirals and I noticed that while the final trophy item aka the A rated armor for every other character is given after completing the final quest from the og SNES game, for Joao you get the armor after defending Massawa from Turkish fleet. In the SNES that is only 2/3 way through his storyline, after which he would deliver Enrico to Japan then search the Americas teaming up with Catalina and finally battling the neo atlantians. So did they shorten his quests for this game?

REMINDER: Bind your account!

Please remember to bind your accounts and take note of your UID, member code, server location, and any information related to your account (e.g. amount spent, student roster, etc). If anything happens to your account (e.g. losing access, unauthorized access), you will need to provide as much info as you can to Nexon's customer support email. Guest accounts that are unbound will be extremely difficult to recover, perhaps impossible.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

[01] When does the server reset?
For global, dailies reset at 19:00 UTC and weeklies reset on Sunday.
[02] Should I re-roll this account?
This will depend on your priorities with PvE, PvP, or both, but you can generally see the “ideal” units as Iori, Hibiki, and Tsubaki for most content, while Shun and Haruna are great for PvP.
[03] Who should I spend my elephs on? Who should I mystic unlock?
At the start, prioritize spending your blank elephs on getting Serina to 2-star for the increased healing stat, Tsubaki to 3-star for the extra tankiness when she is reloading. It is generally advised not to spend your elephs on increasing characters to 4-star and 5-star ratings, since there is only a stat increase and the amount of elephs needed is quite high.
[04] What do my support students’ stats do?
Aside from increasing the stats of their own skills, support students will provide additional stat boosts to your striker team. The specific increase(s) can be viewed by clicking on “Support” on the right side of the team formation screen.
[05] What should I buy in the shop?
[06] What does the “leader” position do?
This is purely cosmetic, as it changes which student’s chibi shows up on the map.
[07] What benefits are there to joining a club?
  1. Students assigned to assist with TA cannot also be selected to assist with JFD.
  2. 20 credits are rewarded every minute by setting assistants.
  3. The specific unit that is borrowed can be only used once a day.
  4. There's a fee of 40,000 credits, when borrowing a assistant student.
  5. The donor receives 50,000 credits instead; even though the fee is 40,000 credits.
  6. The fee can only be received 20 times a day.
[08] How does the pity system work?
You need to pull, at a minimum, 200 times in order to get 200 recruitment points that are redeemed for the character you want. The recruitment point system does not carry over from banner to banner, it is only shared between banners that are concurrently running.
[09] Why can’t I find my friend’s club?
While the servers’ updates are separated from JP and global, the global servers are separated further into smaller divisions. You need to be on the same server as your friend, which you can check from the home screen: top-right menu button > account > version info. The server must be the same.
[10] When is X banner coming? Should I save for X student?
We never know for sure, due to the fact that global servers are on an accelerated schedule compared to JP. Please refer to this guide for some more info.
[11] Should I use Pyroxenes to refill my AP?
If you want to prioritize progression, the first three daily refills are decently valuable, this is because the Pyroxene cost of refilling will increase for every three refills. If you are focused on character collection or future banners, you should be saving your Pyroxenes.
[12] Why can’t I buy X student’s eleph in the shop?
You can only buy elephs of students you own.
[13] What should I craft?
At the start, prioritize crafting cafe furniture until your comfort is maxed out, then students’ gifts, then whichever upgrade materials you need. The crafting system is the only way to get furniture and gifts at the moment.
[14] What is the “Anniversary” in account settings?
This is your birthday, used for characters to wish you happy birthday.
[15] When will the beginner guide missions for Nonomi end?
This is a permanent addition, so feel free to take your time with the tasks.
[16] What is the best place to farm EXP?
You can run any map to farm EXP, as the EXP gain is equal to the amount of AP spent (i.e. 10 AP spent = 10 EXP gained). You should be looking at the stages that drop the equipment upgrade materials that you need.
[17] What is the “Secret Tech Sheet” in the Total Assault shop?
This is used to upgrade a student’s (non-EX) skill to level 10.
[18] Is it worth doing a raid if I can’t pass X difficulty level?
It is always more efficient to clear the highest difficulty you can finish instead of failing/forfeiting a higher difficulty.
[19] Can I claim the Limited Students through exchanging Expert Permits? How often does the Expert Permit shop resets?
You cannot get the limited students via this method. You will still need to pull for them. There's no specific mentioned but it's expected to be monthly.

2023.03.24 00:55 EjmMissouri Christ our Passover is Sacrificed for Us

After this post on the Sanctuary service we will get back to the issure of the 2300 days of Daniel 8. I took this detour through Daniel 9 and the Sanctuary Service to provide the background informaton we will need to righly interpret what the angel meant when he said that after 2300 days then the sanctuary will be cleansed.
In this post we will look at two of the annual feast days, Passover and the feast of First Fruits also known as Pentecost. These two feasts, as we shall see, foretold the death of Jesus and the beginnings of the harvest of souls into the new born Christian Church, and were accurate even to the very day of these events, and in the case of the passover, even to the very time of day that Jesus would die on the cross.

Christ our Passover is Sacrificed for Us

One of the greatest evidences that Jesus is the promised Messiah, God Himself in the flesh, is the prophecies of the Old Testament. These prophecies declare in unmistakable language exactly who Jesus is and what His mission would be.
One of the largest, most comprehensive and detailed prophecies in the Bible compose much of the books of Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy. It is the Sanctuary service itself, a vast prophecy of Christ presented in types and symbols that was acted out by the priests of Israel.
Now let me illustrate this for you using the Passover and its associated feasts and ceremonial Sabbaths as an example. The entire Passover festival was in effect a Passion Play – a prophetic foreshadowing of Christ’s death, as it is written;
1 Corinthians 5:7 Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us.
Let’s start with a general overview of the Passover itself.

The Exodus

The observance of the Passover began with the birth of the Hebrew nation. On that last night of their Egyptian bondage, God commanded them to prepare for an immediate release. He had warned Pharaoh of the final judgment, and he directed the Hebrews to gather within their homes. Having sprinkled the doorposts of their homes with the blood of the lamb, symbolic of the blood of Christ, “the Lamb of God” (John 1:29, 36), they ate the lamb, roasted, with unleavened bread and bitter herbs.
Exodus 12:11 And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the LORD’S passover.
That midnight all the firstborn of Egypt died. Then, as it is written in Exodus 13:31, the king sent to Israel the message;
Exodus 13:31 Rise up, and get you forth from among my people, both ye and the children of Israel; and go, serve the LORD, as ye have said.
The Passover was the opening feast of the yearly round of religious services. It was both commemorative and symbolic; not only pointing back to the deliverance from Egypt, but also forward to the far greater deliverance which Christ was to accomplish for us, freeing us not merely from the bondage of Egypt, but from the far more terrible bondage of sin.
The sacrificial lamb represented none other than Christ Jesus our Lord. Thus the apostle Paul was moved to write; “Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us.” (1 Corinthians 5:7).

The Flesh and the Blood

It was not enough that the Passover lamb was slain, but its blood had to be applied to the door posts of the home. Likewise, it is not enough that Christ died for our sins, but his cleansing blood must be applied to our own hearts. We must be cleansed by the blood of the Lamb of God, by the blood of Christ.
The Passover lamb was to be prepared whole. Not a bone of it was to be broken. Prophetic of the fact that as Christ was sacrificed for us, as he died on the cross, not one of his bones would be broken. This wholeness was also representative of the completeness of Christ’s sacrifice for us.
The flesh was to be eaten, nothing being left for morning; signifying the fact that a mere profession of belief is insufficient; (many will say Lord, Lord in the last days), we must also be constantly receiving spiritual strength and nourishment from him through his word. Jesus said:
John 6:53-54 Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life.
And to explain his meaning he said;
John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
The Passover lamb was to be eaten with bitter herbs, commemorating the bitterness of their bondage in Egypt, and also symbolic of the bitter fruits of sin – the sins that Jesus bore for us on the cross.

Purging the Leaven

It was expressly commanded in the Passover law that no leaven was to be found in the houses during the feast, symbolic of the fact that we must all remove the leaven of sin from our lives. And so, we find the apostle Paul writing to the Corinthian church;
1 Corinthians 5:7-8 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

Set Apart for Death

And just as the Passover lamb has for centuries been taken from the flock a few days before it was to be slain, and set apart from the other lambs, a lamb marked for death; even so a few days before Jesus was to be crucified, the Sanhedrin marked him for death.
John 11:53-54 Then from that day forth they took counsel together for to put him to death. Jesus therefore walked no more openly among the Jews; but went thence unto a country near to the wilderness, into a city called Ephraim, and there continued with his disciples.
Jesus was seized at night by the cruel mob and condemned by false witnesses. The following morning they took him to Pilate, and Jesus was brought into the Roman judgment hall. But the Jews, the Bible says; “went not into the judgment hall, lest they should be defiled; but that they might eat the passover.” (John 18:28).
Jesus had already celebrated the Passover with his disciples a day early, because, according to the Passover law, the Passover lamb was to be slain the evening of the 14 day of the month of Abib. And in the year that our Lord was crucified, in the year that Jesus our Passover was sacrificed for us, that day, the 14th of Abib fell upon a Friday, for the Scriptures are very clear that the following day was the Sabbath day according to the Commandment. The 7th day of the week. (Luke 23:52-56).

An Appointed Time

It was not by chance that Jesus was crucified on a Friday, the 6th day of the week. For 1500 years God had ordained in Leviticus 23:6-7 that the day following the Passover was to be kept as a ceremonial Sabbath, thus signifying the fact that Jesus, the real Passover, would be offered the day before the Sabbath.
There was also an appointed time when the Passover lamb was to be slain. It was to be killed in the evening. (Exodus 12:6). Jesus our Passover, as he hung on the cross, an offering for sinful man, about the ninth hour the Bible says, cried “It is finished,” and died, an offering for our sins. At this very hour the Bible tells, when the priests would have been preparing to slay the Passover lamb, suddenly there was an earthquake, thundering, and lightning, and most notably of all, “the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom.” (Matthew 27:51).
The shadow had met it substance. Christ our Passover, the true Lamb of God was slain. The symbol had met with reality. Do you see? Do you understand? The entire Passover service, far more than being a simple memorial of their deliverance from Egypt, was an acted prophecy. The Passover service was nothing less than a passion play. Every year for 1500 years the Jews acted out in this service the events of the crucifixion. The whole service was a prophecy. The whole Passover service was in effect a Passion Play.
While the Passover lamb they slew each year was a shadow of Christ our Passover, the very fact that the Passover lamb could only be slain on the 14th day of the month of Abid was a prophecy that Jesus, the true Passover Lamb would give up his life for us on that very day, and not only on that very day, but also (as we have seen) at the very time of day prophesied in the service.
The one unanswerable argument that Jesus is the Messiah is that he died on the cross the very day, the very time of day, that God had said the Passover lamb was to be slain.
It is God himself who fixed the dates for the celebration of each of the 7 annual feasts, each foreshadowing an aspect of Christ’s ministry on our behalf. The entire system of sacrifices offerings, and rituals, are a series of acted prophecies of the gospel.

A High Sabbath Day

And there is more. The day following the 14th day of Abib, whatever day of the week that happened to fall on, was a ceremonial Sabbath day. Thus, it was not by chance that in the year that Jesus died, the Passover came on a Friday, the day before the 7th day Sabbath. Neither was it by chance that the ceremonial Sabbath, the 15th day of the month of Abib, came that year on the 7th day Sabbath of the Lord. It was symbol meeting reality. Shadow meeting substance.
The apostle John says;
John 19:31 That Sabbath was a high day.
A high day? This is what they called it when a ceremonial Sabbath connected with one of the feast days chanced to fall on the 7th day Sabbath.
Four thousand years earlier, when God had finished the work of creation, he pronounced the finished work very good. And Jesus is none other than our Creator. On that day when Jesus had finished the work of creation and pronounced it very good, the Bible says; “he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.” (Genesis 2:2).
It was a mighty work to speak the world into existence, and it is no lesser work to take a people sunken in sin and recreated in them the image of God. When Jesus died on Calvary, crying out “It is finished,” the work of redemption was completed on that Friday, the 6th day of the week, and just as he rested after the work of creation, Jesus rested in the grave all through the sacred hours of that holy Sabbath day.

The First Fruits

And there is more. Very early in the morning on the day following the ceremonial Sabbath the priest brought a very special offering and a special service took place. Do you know what it was called? The 14th day of the month of Abib was the day the Passover lamb was killed. The 15th day was a ceremonial Sabbath. And the day after the ceremonial Sabbath, the 16th day of Abib, the first fruits were waved before the Lord. Here is the resurrection in types and symbols and shadows.
1 Corinthians 15:20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.
And there is more. After fifty days there was to be another ceremonial Sabbath (see Leviticus 23: 15-21) after which the harvest was to begin. (Leviticus 23:22). This was the day of Pentecost, the beginning of the harvest of souls into the Church, the disciples being the reapers.

2023.03.24 00:35 McTime50 Deep Dive of Team Needs/Contracts and Possible Draft Prospects at Each Position

Feel free to correct me on ANYTHING and bring up any draft names, player details, or any important piece of info I might've missed or got wrong.

Hope this sparks conversations! Used PFF and Sportrac for a lot of references.

QB
Name Age Contract Expires in Comment
Sam Howell 22 2026 5th round selection in the 2022 draft. I'd be lying if I said Howell didn't spark excitement. Once upon a time, he had a 1st round grade and then played a year at college without any of his weapons. Very limited sample size but right now he's number one on the depth chart. It's his job to lose.
Jacoby Brissett 30 2024 Jacoby was the bridge at Cleveland while the team waited for "You Know Who" to be allowed to suit up. In that time, Jacoby actually performed admirably, with a 2:1 TD/INT and an 82.6 PFF grade. He'll bring proper competition at training camp and should Sam Howell not show up ready for the NFL, we'll definitely be seeing more of Brissett.
Jake Fromm 24 Reserve/Future Signed when Carson broke his finger just so we had a QB3 rostered. Will be fighting for a roster spot come training camp.
Needs - It's expected that Sam and Jacoby battle it out in camp for the number 1 spot. Look for Washington to find a solid QB3 to wait in the wings however, whether it be Jake Fromm or a day 3 draft pick

RB
Name Age Contract Expires in Comment
Brian Robinson 24 2026 Brian Robinson got shot twice in the preseason, then proceeded to play week 5 onwards and become a headliner for our running game. B. Rob had already been looking to leapfrog over Gibson on the depth chart before the incident, and now that he is 100% it stands to reason that we're gonna see bigger and better performances this season.
Antonio Gibson 24 2024 Oh, Gibson. A dynamic playmaker that had a small fumbling issue that spooked fans and evidently the coaches as well. I think Gibson is a very underrated back and is an important part of the offense. Hard to say if we re-sign him after this season, however.
Jonathan Williams 29 2024 Didn't see much action till weeks 16-18. Great motor and ran hard those weeks. Not quite a needle-mover and at 29, might not get another contract.
Needs - With McKissic unlikely to return and Gibson's contract coming up, it makes sense for Washington to pick up another Day 2-3 RB to be RB3 or even eventually replace Gibson.
Possible Draft Prospects

TE
Name Age Contract Expires in Comment
Logan Thomas 31 2025 Logan Thomas hasn't been quite the same since his injury in 2021. He was shaping up to be an underrated gem at the TE position for us and then had a down year. The hope is that Bienemy can utilize him better.
John Bates 25 2025 4th round selection in 2021. Better blocker than a passer, but is good for a splash play here and there. Solid talent on the field.
Cole Turner 23 2026 5th round selection in 2022. Barely saw the field, but his potential to be a receiving threat is there. Look to see more of him this year.
Armani Rogers 25 2025 Undrafted QB-turned-TE. His athleticism at the position really impressed the coaches, and they're willing to let him show them that he can handle more.
Needs - Logan Thomas isn't getting any younger, and between two largely unproven talents in Cole and Armani, it's not out of the realm of possibility that Washington adds another piece to Bienemy's favorite position on day 2 and onwards.
Possible Draft Prospects

WR
Name Age Contract Expires in Comment
Terry McLaurin 27 2026 Scary Terry. Our WR1.
Curtis Samuel 26 2024 Samuel missed 2021 with soft-tissue injuries but had an actually decent bounceback in 2022. A lot of flashy plays and his change of direction is no joke. Looked electric on the field. Perhaps too much emphasis was put on using him by Scott Turner, but it's clear that Samuel has a lot of value. The question is if it'll be enough to re-sign him in 2024.
Jahan Dotson 23 2027 1st round selection in 2022. Stud. Finds the ball and makes plays. What more do you want out of this kid?
Dyami Brown 23 2025 3rd round selection in 2021. Deep threat that has yet to truly break out in the NFL. Had a couple flashy TDs against TEN this year. Hopefully reuniting him with his college QB in Sam Howell will spark something.
Dax Milne 23 2025 7th round selection in 2021 draft. Punt return duties in 2022. Kid did not pass the eye test whenever he tried to return the ball and consistently had the team starting at the 10 or 15.
Marcus Kemp 27 2024 Signed to replace Cam Sims.
Needs - WR is likely Washington's second-deepest position group. It should be noted however that both Curtis Samuel and Marcus Kemp's contracts are up after this season, and between Dyami Brown not quite breaking out just yet and Dax Milne being a very underwhelming receivepunt returner, I don't think it'd hurt to add another young guy who could either develop to replace Curtis or become an instant impact starter of special teams over Milne. Possibly a round 3 selection using the compensatory pick.

OT
Name Age Contract Expires in Comment
Charles Leno 31 2025 Starting LT. Decent tackle that looked worse than he was due to horrid interior play. Gave up 8 sacks on the year. The team should be looking to find a younger replacement.
Cornelius Lucas 31 2024 Backup that played at RT. Did decently.
Andrew Wylie 28 2026 Signed in free agency to be the new starting RT.
Drew Himmelman 26 2024 Signed in free agency likely to be depth.
Trent Scott 29 2024 Signed in free agency likely to be depth.
Needs - Not a particularly young group. Andrew Wylie comes in to play RT, so I believe Washington would look for some to play on the left if they go the OT route in rounds 1-2. However, it should be noted that prior to 2021, Wylie played OG. Getting a RT of the future and moving Wylie inside isn't an insane idea. Lots of ways to go about retooling the offensive line.
Possible Draft Prospects

IOL
Name Age Contract Expires in Comment
Nick Gates 27 2026 Signed in free agency. This dude can play G or C. Should Chase Rouiller be unable to, I can see Gates snapping the ball in the Wes Schweitzer role. Otherwise, competing with Norwell for LG.
Sam Cosmi 24 2025 Cosmi at guard???? Coaches think he can do well in that role, and with Wylie taking over RT duties it seems like Cosmi will be your new starting RG to replace Trai Turner.
Chase Rouiller 29 2025 Starting center that missed a lot of time to injury. The same injury has been nagging him for a while, which is unfortunate because when healthy he was one of PFF's top centers.
Andrew Norwell 31 2024 Started at LG last year, but is gonna see some competition in camp. Might be relegated to depth.
Saahdiq Charles 23 2024 Depth guy that filled in weeks 4-7. Only gave up one sack in that span. PFF grades were Not Great.
Tyler Larsen 31 2024 Backup center. Took over for Chase until he got injured himself. Performed inconsistently in the position.
Chris Paul 24 2026 7th round selection in 2022. Saw the field once in week 18.
Needs - The offensive line was one of Washington's biggest problems last season, so expect to see them address it all throughout the draft. Free agency addition Nick Gates alongside Sam Cosmi (now inside!) may help, but I wouldn't say precludes Washington from even trading back up the first and picking up a guard or a center in the second/third.

DT
Name Age Contract Expires in Comment
Jonathan Allen 28 2026 Stud.
Daron Payne 25 2027 Stud. Got his bag this offseason after a career year.
Phidarian Mathis 24 2026 Unfortunately had a season-ending injury at the beginning of the season. Hopefully a good comeback season in 2023.
John Ridgeway 23 2026 Picked up off the Cowboy's waiver wire, this dude has motor like no tomorrow. We've all seen him wrestle move Damien Pierce against the Texans. Good young guy to have on that line to develop.
David Bada 27 2024 International player signed to a 1-year deal. Good depth guy.
Needs - After the Payne re-sign, and Mathis/Ridgeway coming in last season, DT is undoubtedly the deepest position group on the roster. I don't foresee Washington drafting another one (but you never know with this FO).
---
EDGE
Name Age Contract Expires in Comment
Chase Young 23 2025 2nd overall selection in 2020, he had a stellar rookie year, got injured in his sophomore, then proceeded to take most of 2022 before seeing the field again. Once he trusts his leg again, he should have a FULL bounceback season.
Montez Sweat 26 2024 26th overall selection in 2019, Montez has been a consistently good EDGE. Watch for him to have a career year with his contract coming up a la Daron Payne.
Shaka Toney 25 2025 7th round selection in 2021. Backup. Played 7 weeks in 2022 and did just ok.
James Smith-Williams 25 2024 7th round selection in 2020. Rotational player, backup. Did ok.
Casey Toohill 26 2024 7th round selection also in 2020. Made a nice tandem threat with James Smith-Williams.
Efe Obada 30 2024 Depth guy.
Abdullah Anderson 27 2024 Depth guy.
Benning Potoa'e 26 2024 Depth guy.
Needs - Montez Sweat is the next big re-signing on the horizon for Washington. Coupled with (hopefully now 100%) Chase Young, the EDGE group is shaping up to be pretty strong this season. However, if you take a look above, a LOT of backups are out after this season, so a day 2-3 pick is in the realm of possibility. There needs to be stronger talent beyond just Young and Sweat.
Possible Draft Prospects

LB
Name Age Contract Expires in Comment
Jamin Davis 24 2025 Drafted to be MIKE but worked better outside. Improved heavily as the year went on.
Cody Barton 26 2024 Signed in free agency to replace Cole Holcomb, who had been improving at the MIKE position for the team.
Drew White 24 2025 UDFA picked up in 2022, never saw the field.
Khaleke Hudson 25 2024 5th round selection in 2020, saw the field only 5 weeks in 2022. Special teamer.
De'Jon Harris 25 2024 Special teamer.
David Mayo 29 2024 Special teamer and back-up LB.
Nate Gerry 28 2024 Practice squad guy.
Needs - Jamin Davis was drafted in the 1st round to be a MIKE. Didn't work out. Holcomb took a big step up in the MIKE role last season. Got injured and left in free agency at the season's end. Cody Barton signed on a 1-year deal. Beyond Jamin Davis, LB is still one of Washington's most anemic position groups. Jack Del Rio's scheme puts more emphasis on CB than it does on LB but it would be nice to see this group get just a bit beefier.

CB
Name Age Contract Expires in Comment
Kendall Fuller 28 2024 CB1, Kendall Fuller has been really good at corner for us. Contract however is on the horizon.
Benjamin St-Juste 25 2025 CB2 who had been improving more and more until he had an injury in 2022. Look for him to continue his upward ascent in 2023.
Danny Johnson 27 2025 Did a little special teams and stepped up a little during regular play. Did pretty well!
Cameron Dantzler 24 2024 Picked up in free agency on a prove-it deal. Look for him to prove it or leave next year.
Tariq Castro-Fields 24 2026 Barely saw the field in 2022.
Christian Holmes 25 2026 7th round selection in 2022. Instant impact on special teams. Look for him to have an expanded role in 2023.
Needs - Kendall Fuller's contract is coming up and there isn't an enormous amount of talent beyond Benjamin St-Juste. A corner has been heavily mocked to us in the 1st and/or 2nd, so I would expect to see one go in those spots. Another point I want to bring up is zone vs. man. Jack Del Rio's scheme is predicated more on Zone than Press Man. Kinda the reason why William Jackson struggled last year and got traded. Now if the talent and tools are there, they may pick up another press prospect but I would look more into zone guys.

Kamren Curl 23 2024 PFF highest rated safety. Kam Curl had a breakout season and is only gonna get better
Darrick Forrest 23 2025 This dude had not 1, but 2 highlight interceptions in 2022. Darrick Forrest always seems to be where the ball is and the secondary could always use more of that.
Percy Butler 22 2026 4th round selection in 2022. Instant impact on special teams and likely going to be a starter in 2023 as Kam movies into a Buffalo Nickel role.
Jeremy Reaves 26 2024 You all know the story. All-pro special teamer.
Needs - Kam Curl has really come into his own as well as D. Forrest and all the other young safeties. PFF had them highly rated a bunch last season. I would expect day 3 picks here, just because you can never have enough good special team players with upside.

2023.03.23 23:55 VICXIII I've done and fuck up! Chapter 43 part 2

The Recon Team had traveled 2.2 Mi. So far, they hadn’t encountered a scouting unit from the advancing force. Not even the reading Bla`ol was getting from the satellites showed any movement on their part. Valè had even Comm’d Command Center to see if the satellites were in working order, and what she got was the same info Bla`ol gave her. The advancing force hadn’t moved from its location. Valè didn’t like that at all. Her gut was telling her something was off. The corner of her HUD began to blinker, notifying her that someone was trying to reach her via Comms. Answering her Comms, the tiny image of the Champion appears in the corner of her HUD.
“Did you find something, Champion?”
Valè asked as she signaled to the rest of the Recon Team to stop.
“Junior team leader Valè, I have found a hollowed-out cave-like pathway inside the tree. My…Gift scanned ahead and showed me it would place us about 3/5 a mile above the advancing force. This location would make a perfect sniper nest. I mean, look out to recon from.”
As the Champion gave his report, next to his image appeared several images and 3D images showing Valè the hollowed-out cave. As the images and 3D images changed, something caught Valè’s eyes. Her gaze focused on the image. The image stopped and expanded, showing scrapping marks on the tree bark. The scrapping didn’t look natural. It looked almost as if something had drilled its way into the tree.
“Have you found any signs of tracks or recent movement near the cave?”
Valè voiced her concern. The cave looked too artificial, and she feared an advancing scouting unit had created it.
“No, there are no signs of movement of any kind. What are your orders, Junior team leader Valè?”
The Champion's reply was simple and straight to the point. Still, Valè was concerned about this cave. Something about it seems off.
“Have you found another path that will take us closer to the advancing force?”
Valè asked, hoping there were other pathways. The Champion shook his head and spoke.
“Not unless you want to jump off the edge of this branch and land in the middle of the advancing force or take a thirty-minute detour.”
Valè clicked her tongue. They were pressed for time. Deciding on the fastest route, she went for the cave.
“Wait for us to arrive at your location, Champion. ETA to your location is five minutes.”
The Champion nodded in acknowledgment and cut the Comms. Valè turned to the Recon Team and spoke.
“The Champion has found a path for us. Move it on the double!”
The Recon Team moved with swift grace and stealth, their movement going unnoticed by the creature that grazed on the massive tree. The only animal that noticed their actions was a mid-sized slimy predator who, thanks to the Recon Team, had failed to catch its prey.
The Recon Team reached the massive cave. Their faces behind their helmet were painted with awe and surprise. All of them were thinking, “what or who made it?” Standing above the cave-like entrance, Gabriel turned off his “cloak” and called to the Recon Team.
“It's a clear path, Junior team leader Valè. Just watch your step. It has quite the slope.”
Everyone's gaze turns to the Champion and then back to the cave. Something just didn’t sit right about it. One of the Recon Team, Vijatà, spoke.
“Are you sure it’s safe to go in?”
Vijatà said what everyone was thinking. Gabriel jumped off from the top of the cave and slowly descended in front of the Recon Team. While doing so, he spoke.
“Yes, you just have to watch your step.”
Everyone turns to Valè, waiting for their orders. Valè took in the information she was given and weighed her options. With the bit of time they had left and the need for information, Valè decided to enter the cave.
“I know everyone is not liking the feeling this cave is giving off, but we are pressed for time. We march forward. Champion, please take the lead. Vijatà and V`yx, with me in the middle, be ready with your Gifts. Bla`ol, I want you behind me, ready to deploy a construct and have your sensor watching our backs. Yoremedia and Ùzonal, both of you on our 6. Anything that pins the wrong way on Bla`ol sensors, I want you to delete it from existence.”
Everyone nodded and got into position. While everyone was getting into position, Valè gave Command Center an update on their current path and the massive cave. Like her, those in the Command Center found the cave odd and warned them to proceed with caution. With her update to the Command Center done, Valè joined the formation and glanced at the massive cave entrance before diving in.
Everyone marches towards the Creepy cave. The group walked silently, their steps being the only sound inside the cave and, occasionally, the sound of them stepping in a puddle of a very sticky liquid. As they walked, they scanned for any threat and took in the strange yet eerie world surrounding them. The cave walls were covered by a glowing sticky goo :maxbytes(150000):strip_icc()/optaboutcomcoeusresourcescontent_migrationtreehuggerimages201508_joseph-michael-glowworm-cave-photos-5-ea27eebbaab54a2e8be6e822bbf5fd4d.jpg)that dripped from every corner. At first, they had not encountered the glowing goo. It was only recently that they began to see it. Walking behind everyone, Yoremedia kept her eyes on Gab`riel on and off. On their way here, she had a small glimpse of what was bothering Gab`riel. His rotations inside the Transport that had brought him here had left him with symptoms of claustrophobia. The symptoms were now mild, thanks to the cycle he had spent with Healer of the mind Zè. Still traveling in something the size of a Transport still left Gab`riel irritated and annoyed, making him use a meditation technique that Healer of the mind Zè had taught him.
Yoremedia sighed. The meditation worked, as Gab`riel said, but his body still responded to being confined. She wished she could do more for him, but her paws were tied behind her back alongside her tail. Something moving caught Yoremedia’s eyes. Something she found odd as her HUD or Bla`ol’s hadn’t warned them. Turning her head and rifle, she looked at whatever caught her gaze. Slightly above the group were large pockets of whatever the sticky goo was. Her scanners show that the pockets of goo were made out of sucrose, water, and small amounts of Glucose and fructose. Whatever this goo thing was where sure to be sweet, very sweet. Suddenly, the cave’s floor moved, making everyone jump into a battle formation. The walls of the massive cave began to constrict, bringing the glowing world around them to life. Everyone was on edge except for the Champion and Bla`ol. The Champion’s eyes scanned the walls, ceiling, and floor while Bla`ol’s Mecha’s onboard sensors and scanners did the same.
“Clear! The tree is just breathing!”
Both the Champion and Bla`ol screamed, cutting the tension that filled every one of the Recon Team. Slowly lowering their rifles, everyone let go of the breath they were holding.
“Recon team, we detected elevated heart rates and spikes in your adrenaline levels. What’s going on?”
Comms Officer Unjerstrinia's voice and image came through a level 5 Comms. Her concern was evident on her young Litrigon face.
“The tree gave us a bit of a fright. It turns out trees can breathe.”
Valè said while trying to get her heart rate down. This place just rubs her the wrong way.
Comms Officer Unjerstrinia’s ears twitch for a bit, confused by what she heard, and her bioluminescence also shows a bit of confusion. Still, she places that confusion in the back of her mind. She needed to know if the mission was still viable.
“Acknowledge Recon Team. Is the mission a no-go?”
Valè turns to the people still looking at the tree, scanning it, and asks.
“Champion. Bla`ol. Is it safe to move on?”
Bla`ol looks at his sensor readings and scanners. Everything shown to him was green. The only life signs inside the massive cave were the seven of them. Turning the Mecha’s outer speaker, the male Tiverno spoke.
“Everything looks green. Nothing out of place.”
Valè nodded her head at the reply. Turning her attention back to Comms Officer Unjerstrinia, she spoke.
“We all green here, Command Center. The mission is still a go.”
Comms Officer Unjerstrinia nodded and spoke.
“Understood, Recon Team. We will continue to monitor your progress. Goddesses speed and good luck.”
The Comms ended, and Valè turned to the rest of the Recon Team. She was about to give the order to continue but noticed the Champion still looking at the cave. She was about to say something when the Champion spoke.
“Vijatà move three steps to the right.”
Gabriel spoke. His deep voice echoed in the massive cave, stunning those behind him for a second. It took Vijatà another second to process what she heard. But by the time she did, it was too late.
“What do yo...Ahhhh!” What in the Eight Agony Plains is this icky goo thing!?”
One of the large pockets of goo had burst open, dropping all its content on top of the Tubinestian female. The image of Vijatà covered in glowing sticky goo was too much for the group of mixed children of the Empire. Every single one burst out laughing.
“Hahaha! Look, Sis, your dream became true!”
V`yx screamed, which only made her other litter sisters laugh louder.
“Demon fucker! When I said, I wanted to be bathed by something sticky! I didn’t mean this shit!”
Vijatà said with apparent rage while trying to get the goo of herself. This, in turn, only made the rest of the group laugh even louder. The only one that wasn’t partaking in Vijatà misery was Gabriel. He had just finished scanning the pocket of goo that exploded because of the tree breathing, and he could not believe what he saw. Being disconnected from the net, he had not been given a clear sign of what he had been walking through, even with his passive scans scanning ahead. All he got was what he believed to be natural tree juices. He finally understood what he was seeing when the pocket of goo or blue glowing alien maple syrup completely covered Vijatà. No, he first needs to check his theory out. Countless imitations had fooled many Humans and even his father, but if this turned out to be maple syrup, then one of Humanity's many Edicts would be complete.
“Could this mission get any worse?” Vijatà thought. Not only was she scolded by her older litter sister, but her attempts to get the Champion's attention had also failed. She knew before the crash the Champion would always find it amusing when Team members gave him compliments or straight-up flirted with him. But now, anything she tried or said would only get her a slight smile or complete indifference. Beeping from her HUD added more salt to her already bruised ego. It warned her of the goo going into her rifle and gunking some of the components. She was about to swing her rifle around and see if that got the goo out of it when the Champion grabbed her by the wrist.
“Champion?”
Vijatà asks, confused by the Champion’s action. The Champion said nothing. Only the slight glow of his helmet disappearing answered her. Vijatà looks down at the Champion and notices him scanning her paw with his deep, glowing eyes. The Champion's action made everyone stop laughing and pay close attention to what he was doing. This time it was Valè turns to ask.
“Champion, is that goo dangerous?”
The Champion did not answer as his tongue was busy licking Vijatà’s paw. Everyone's jaw would’ve hit the floor if it wasn’t for their helmet holding it in. Vijatà was over the moons. The Champion was licking her paw with feverous lust. Even through her armor, she could feel the Champion’s tongue gliding over her scales. Oh, how it felt. How she wishes she could rip her armor off and feel his tongue between the crevices of her scales. The Champion’s tongue moved away from her palm and began to lick her fingers. This made Vijatà’s legs tremble and sent a chill down her spine to the tip of her tail. It felt like hours. The Champion’s tongue over-stimulated her senses almost to the breaking point, but the Champion stopped before she could reach that oh-so-sweet climax.
“Oh, hell yeah! That is most definitely maple syrup!”
The Champion screamed in his cradle tongue. His voice radiated a joy that burrowed into everyone's core, pulling those stunned by his little act out of their daze.
“Recon Team, what in the name of our Divine Goddesses is going on over there!? And why in the damn Eight Agony Plains is team member Vijata’s vitals showing signs of extreme sexual arousal!?”
Once again, the voice and image of Comms officer Unjerstrinia rang and appeared inside every Recon Team member’s helmet. Still, in a bit of a daze, Valè shook her head, trying to get her bearings. But what she had witnessed had left her in a state of shock.
“Recon Team! Report!”
This time, the voice and image that came through weren’t Comms officer Unjerstrinia but Supreme Commander Yesleta. The authority and power behind Supreme Commander Yesleta’s voice was the sledgehammer that broke Valè out of her shocked state.
“I…well…the Champion…he licked? Something…from team member Vijatà’s paw?”
Valè words were full of confusion and shock. Even as she spoke, it sounded like she could not believe what she was saying. The image of Supreme Commander Yesleta shows her raising her eyebrow. Yesleta knew something was off when she felt Gabriel’s disbelieve, followed by his intense enjoyment. Just what in the damn Eight Agony Plains was he doing?
“Gab`riel, mind telling me what you are doing? We are all dying to know.”
The voice of Yesleta came through the outer speakers of the Recon Team helmets. Her voice echoed in the hollowed-out cave tree. Making the hairs on the back of Gabriel's neck stand on end. Gabriel cursed internally. His need to find out about the maple syrup had made him forget where and with whom he was. Taking a deep breath, he faced everyone and spoke.
“Ah, yes. What is currently covering Vijatà is a substance Humans call maple syrup. This substance was processed from trees called Sugar maples. Sadly many milleni….sorry I mean, thousands of rotations ago, the trees, alongside many flora and fauna from Humanity's cradle home, were…went extinct. Finding something similar to maple syrup has been placed in what my people call the Humans Edicts. These Edicts are very important, to the point that finding one would make all of Humanity move.”
Yesleta saw countless emotions running through Gab`riel’s face through the cameras on the Recon Team helmet. His expression was similar to when someone was rewarded by the Divine Goddesses when that person had achieved something remarkable. On any other occasion, she would be curious and willing to listen to Gabriel explaining these Edicts. Yet here, and now she could not let whatever these Edicts were, take precedence over the mission in paw.
“Champion Gab`riel, whatever these Èjïtcs are, do not outweigh the current mission. I hope I do not need to remind you of what is currently approaching our location.”
Yesleta's voice wasn’t low or harsh. Yet it carried an authority that made Gabriel slightly flinch. Feeling Yesleta’s disappointment through their link didn’t help Gabriel either, but he couldn’t control this. It was part of him; it was in his DNA. Still, Yesleta was right. They have more pressing matters to attempt too, plus he could always find more maple syrup now that he knew what he was looking for.
“No, Supreme Commander. There is no ne……What the fuck!? Everyone move!”
Gabriel screams at the top of his lungs while pulling Vijatà, who was standing next to him, into his arms and jumping into the air. The rest of the Recon Team, too, jump back just in time to see a set of very familiar tentacles. Gabriel flips in the air and lands on the cave ceiling. Cursing, he materialized his helmet and looked at the hideous creature before him. In his moment of lax judgment, Gabriel had not been paying attention to his passive scans, which were screaming at him about a massive worm measuring 70 meters long and 40 meters high approaching them. He only noticed the gigantic worm when his senses screamed at him of the danger below their feet. The worm rose from the massive hole it created. It opens its mouth, revealing countless razor-sharp fangs and tentacles.
“Is that a fucking Agony Demon! How the fuck did we miss that!?”
Vijatà screams while being carried bridal style by Gabriel. Seeing this creature, she, alongside the Recon Team, understood why they all felt odd inside the massive cave. They were walking through an Agony Demon’s nest!
“The tree! The Tree’s Essences was masking it from our HUD and scanners!”
Bla`ol screams, his voice amplified by Mecha’s outer speakers.
“We’ll deal with that later. Light the fucker up!
Valè screamed. Every member of the Recon Team heard her orders. The sounds of their regular rifles coming to life are heard, and what follows soon after are the sounds of rounds going at Mach 15 echoing inside the cave. The Recon Team had begun fighting the monstrous worm.
The rounds pierce the horrendous creature's flesh, making it scream in pain. The beast retaliated using its massive tentacles. The Recon Team members dodge the incoming attack with grace and great dexterity. Yesleta watched the battle that had just ensued and could not believe her eyes. An Agony Demon had escaped their detection and made it home inside the massive tree.
“That's not an Agony Demon! It's a native species of this planet!”
Gabriel's voice came through everyone's Comms. Hearing his outrageous outburst almost made those fighting the beast lose their footing.
“What do you mean it's not an Agony Demon!? Look at it! Sharp razor fangs! Countless tentacles and hideously ugly! That is most definitely An agony Demon!”
Vijatà, who Gabriel was carrying, screamed what everyone was thinking.
“Exactly that. I scanned it. Its genetic makeup matches the beings of this world.”
While Gabriel gave his explanation, he sent his findings to the Command Center. Those that read the information provided by him were surprised. The creature was indeed a native of this planet. Yesleta, with her ability to absorb more data, read the complete data package that Gabriel had sent. The creature was unique, to say the least, and it was a bizarre example of convergent evolution. She sighed. She knew later on that Momola`n would throw a fit over what she was about to order.
“Is it possible the cave is this creature's home, and when everyone entered, it felt threatened. But as it stands, we don’t have the luxury to make the creature flee. Recon Team, you have the green light. Eliminate the threat in front of you.”
Yesleta gave her order, making everyone move into action. Gabriel kicked off from the ceiling. Beams of superheated plasma shot out from his helmet—burning tentacles aimed at the Recon Team. The massive beast roared. It turned its attention to the one that attacked it and spat a foul-colored liquid. Gabriel easily dodged the foul liquid thrown in his direction. The simple-minded creature, annoyed at the tiny being flying around it, began to pay complete attention to it. Which, it turns out, signed its doom. Yoremedia and her team members Ùzonal and Bla'ol fired their rifles and mounted arm cannons. Their rounds rip large meaty chunks off the beast. The beast roared, enraged by the pain it felt losing its flesh, but in its simple-mindedness, it only saw the flying being about its head attacking it.
“Hot bone!”
Bla`ol screams through his Mecha helmet while throwing an aerodynamic cylinder he created with his Gift at Yoremedia. Catching the cylinder, Yoremedia began injecting her Gift into it. The power of Divine light fills the cylinder, and soon it begins to glow.
“Frag out!”
Yoremedia yells out, throwing the cylinder out at incredible speeds. The cylinder flew, cutting a path straight to the creature. The creature's tentacles began trashing around more violently due to Gabriel burning its mouth. A tentacle was about to smash the cylinder into pieces when countless shadows rose from the ground slicing the tentacle into ribbons.
“That was close!”
Ùzonal, the other male member of Yoremedia’s team, screams out with his paw stretched out. Moving his paws in a circular motion, the shadows match it creating a rotational dome around the cylinder. The now shadow missile cut its way deep into the creature, making it release a horrendous scream. Cracks began to form around the shadows covering the cylinder. Soon light began to radiate from it, and then a blinding explosion happened, releasing billions of nanites into the creature. The nanites flew everywhere, attaching themselves to whatever they came into contact with. Soon the power that Yoremedia injected into them reached a boiling point creating countless explosions. Where once used to be flesh was replaced by smoky white bones. A shriek of despair rang inside the cave, almost deafening the Recon Team. The hideous creature thrashed violently, aggravating its wounds and releasing a vile-colored liquid that began to eat away at the floor. Not knowing what the liquid would do, Yoremedia and her team jumped back and continued to fire their rifles and arm cannons.
Valè and her litter sister V`yx ran around firing their rifles while dodging the spit, tentacles, and falling debris the creature was throwing around. As she ran, a glowing light covered V`yx. Thanks to the covering fire her older litter sister Valè provided, V`yx gathered her Essence into her Gift. Extending her paw, she fired a glowing missile of light. The missile crashed into one of the many tentacles, spreading its light throughout the massive beast. The light ran like wildfire on the beast covering it completely, and soon, the gigantic worm began to lose strength. Its violent trashing slowly dies down. V`yx smiled. Her Gift had weakened the disgusting creature, but not completely. It still had some fight left. It smashed two of its tentacles into the ceiling sending large chunks of bark into the floor below. Both Valè and V`yx dodge the incoming debris. They weave with trained perfection, the tentacles, falling debris, and the odd-looking liquid; they dodge it all. But avoiding a chunk of bark the size of a Transport, Valè found herself alone with her back against the cave wall. Tentacles race toward her with the intent to end her. Power rose inside Valè. Her Essence reached its peak and was released with great force. The force tore the tentacles apart and any debris near her. Around her, a blue shield was created, blocking anything that wished to harm her.
“Vijatà, get down here now while I have my Gift up! We need to put this thing down now!”
Valè screamed into her Comms, carrying her voice to her other litter sister. Vijatà was having the time of her life. The Champion had licked her fingers and paw clean off, which almost made her come, and now she was being carried by him while flying around. It felt off being at the mercy of the Champion, but she wouldn’t lie. It was thrilling to no end. What's more, in the position she found herself in, her paws could grab onto the undersuit of the Champion. The suit had a similar texture to her armor, making it easy to feel what was underneath.
“Vijatà, get down here now while I have my Gift up! We need to put this thing down now!”
Valè annoyed, and pissed-off voice rang next to her ears, destroying Vijatà's joyful and wonderful moment. Vijatà sighed. It was time to get back at what she was good at, and that was killing ugly Demon fuckers. Hopefully, once she was done and the Devine Goddesses allowed it, the Champion would return to cleaning her again. With her goal in mind, Vijatà taps the Champion’s shoulder. The Champion stops firing plasma beams from his helmet and turns his attention to Vijatà.
“I got to go. Thanks for the cleaning, Champion! Once this is done, can we continue where we left off? I still hav….”
“Vijatà! Get your fucking tail down here, Now!”
Valè’s voice booms into Vijatà’s Comms, making the young Tubinestian woman jump. Annoyed, Vijatà looked over her shoulder and saw the battle below. Her litter sister V`yx had weakened the creature with her Gift, but it wasn’t enough to bring it down. Turning to the Champion, she winks, which the Champion could see as her helmet wasn’t tinted yet. Running her fingers down the Champion’s helmet, Vijatà spoke.
“See you later, Champion.”
Pushing herself off the Champion, Vijatà fell to the battle below. With unparallel skill, Vijatà twisted her body, dodging the creature’s tentacles. A tentacle was getting dangerously close to her. Extending her arms, Vijatà pushed herself away from the beast and flipped in the air, catapulting her high above the creature’s head. As she flew over the creature's head, Vijatà grabbed her rifle and began to rain supersonic rounds down onto the beast. The rounds pierce the creature’s skull, destroying a section of its skull. The beast started flailing its tentacles violently over its head, forcing Vijatà to change her landing trajectory. Landing on the creature’s back, Vijatà almost lost her footing as the back of the creature was covered by some type of slippery substance. Bearly maintaining her balance, Vijatà was able to slide down the creature’s back and land next to her older litter sister.
“You took your damn sweet time! Link up with V`yx so we can bring this thing down now!”
Valè said through gritted teeth, as keeping her Gift up against the constant onslaught of attack from the creature’s tentacles was draining her Essence rapidly. Not missing a beat, Vijatà looked at her HUD, searching for her litter sister V`yx IFF. The HUD painted her nearby, running toward her Vijatà scream.
“To the Goddess of War, we pray!”
“Mighty Catteyutiria, we call forth your wrath!”
In the distance, V`yx voice booms.
“Bring down those that stand in our way!”
Vijatà continued to scream as she got closer to her litter sister.
“Shatter their will to fight with your ever-growing might!”
V`yx voice sounded closer to Vijatà now. V`yx and Vijatà were only a few feet away from each other. Putting their rifles away, they ran toward each other with their fists held high.
“Let the sound of your War drums ring! Catteyutiria’s Smite!”
Both Tubinestian women scream while their fists collide. A large amount of Essences was released by each clash. The ringing of their fists echoed across the massive cave, and the large amount of Essences covered the gigantic worm. The worm began to lose strength. Its tentacles which it once used to rend the cave ceiling and floor apart, were now strewed on the cave’s floor motionless.
“Bring it down! Before the debuff runs out!”
Valè screams to every member of the Recon Team. V`yx and Vijatà grabbed their rifles and fired at the massive worm. Valè, now with some breathing room, joins her younger litter sisters leaving the cave’s wall behind. Yoremedia and her team focused fired onto the gaping hole they created, tearing every organ exposed.
Gabriel had stopped firing his plasma beams when Vijatà and V`yx had used their Gifts in a combo or k'i'ik'el kechmekatl. He had read about it while studying **“**MagIc~.” It was an ability of those from the same family, alongside similar Gifts, could perform. Giving a prayer to the Goddess they had an affinity to, just like Vijatà and V`yx had prayed to Catteyutiria, would amplify their Gifts, creating a more potent reaction and boosting their Gifts. Seeing the k'i'ik'el kechmekatl was interesting yet bizarre, like everything that dealt with “mAgIc~” still, seeing it in person and reading it about were two different things. The application and deployment of these unique abilities would change the playing field of any battle, just like what was happening in front of him.
Everyone was fighting the ugly as-sin worm…or, to be more precise. They were curb-stomping it to death. Dodging a round, Gabriel took notice of something. The Recon Team was fighting the creature in front of them as if it was an Agony Demon which was bad. At the beginning of the fight, he had been cautious in using his abilities. As throwing balls of plasma or using the Spear of Terra replica would’ve destroyed the cave…something the Recon Team was doing by themselves already. Sure, they were cautious with their shots, but this creature wasn’t built like an Agony Demon. Rounds flew through the beast, tearing flesh and destroying whatever was on the other side. He needed to finish this fight before they brought the cave down.
“Everyone pull back!”
He screamed. The voice of the Champion came through everyone’s Comms. No one bothered to second-guess what they heard. Every member of the Recon Team jumped back with amazing speed. Helmets began to tint as an extremely bright light engulfed the cave. A massive ball of plasma sat above the Champion. With one swift motion, he throws it at the beast below. The ball of plasma flew toward the creature, who was still under the effect of V`yx and Vijatà's strange ability. The eyeless monstrosity could not see what was approaching it. It could only feel the scorching heat for less than a second before turning into ash. The massive ball of plasma flew past the gigantic worm, leaving nothing behind, not even ash. Seeing the beast turn to nothing, the Recon Team began to relax but still maintain vigilance.
“Recon Team report.”
The voice and image of Supreme Commander Yesleta came through. Vale turned her gaze to the corner of her helmet. There she saw her Supreme Commander, as always displaying power and dignity worthy of her position. Raising her tail for a salute, Valè spoke.
“Supreme Commander, the immediate threat has been neutralized. Team members V`yx and Vijatà have used a significant portion of their Essence, but nothing an Erol fruit can’t fix.”
Yesleta nodded her head. She had seen the battle play out thanks to the cameras on the Recon Team helmets. In less than two minutes, the massive creature had been brought down, and no one had suffered any significant damage. Satisfied with the result of the battle, she spoke.
“Regroup and continue with your current heading. We will continue to monitor you. Lastly, Champion Gab`riel, I hope another “event” doesn’t occur. Supreme Commander Yesleta out.”
Gabriel flinched at Yesleta's last parting words. He had been listening to the conversation in case of any new orders, yet all he got was a chewing. A chewing that would continue once he got back if what he was getting through their link was true, which always was…maybe if he took some maple syrup to Yesleta, the chewing wouldn’t be as ba…
“Hey, where is all this coming from? Champion Gab`riel, what did you call this thing? Matlè cirit?”
The voice of Vijatà derailed Gabriel’s train of thought. Turning his attention toward the young woman, he saw her eating Erol fruit that replenishes their Essences and an ankle-deep stream of blue glowing maple syrup running down the cave’s floor.
“I think it's matle cirit, and can you just sit and eat your Erol? We need to get our Essence back, or did you forget we have a battalion of unknowns approaching us.”
Gabriel turned his gaze to the one that had spoken. Sitting around a boulder-sized bark was Yoremedia, her Team members Ùzonal and Bla`ol, Valè, and the one he was sure had spoken V`yx. Everyone had taken their helmets off and were waiting for V`yx and Vijatà to finish their fruit. Seeing everyone taking a breather, Gabriel decided to continue to “examine” the maple syrup. After all, he needed to be 100% certain it was maple syrup. Flying toward a wall, Gabriel scanned it for anything that would affect the flavor. Finding nothing, he began to sample the maple syrup. His tastebuds when into euphoria all the sweet things Gabriel had tasted up to this point could not compare to this type of sweetness. A ping from his passive scan notifies Gabriel something is happening to the hole the worm came out from. Flying to the massive hole, he began to scan the interior of it and noticed the odd-looking liquid the worm had used was rapidly deteriorating. Landing on the edge of the hole, Gabriel detected several fault areas. Something he didn’t like, as the smallest amount of force would shatter the bark and flood this cave with a sea of maple syrup. Opening the Recon Team’s Comms, he spoke.
“Junior team leader Valè, we should begin to depart. I have finished scanning the hole where the creature appeared, and it shows significant damage done to it. The possibility of breaking and flooding this cave with maple syrup is high.”
Information pops up from Valè’s forearms' 3D display. The leader of the Recon Team reads the data and wrinkles her brow; she doesn’t like what she is reading.
“Ya’ll heard the Champion. Let’s move.”
Everyone nodded, and their helmets began to close around their head. Gabriel began to walk toward the group to get into position when his passive scan showed a familiar scan. The scans were the same as the ones when the tree was about to breathe…

2023.03.23 23:55 VICXIII I've done and fuck up! Chapter 43 part 1

Discord
had some tech problems posting this chapter, but I finally was able to post it. Now I want to give thanks to Killian and Mac from my discord for their help in editing and grammar errors. Now back to the show.
One by one, every recon team member enters the Transport. Taking a seat, Gabriel sat facing the back of the Transport. Yoremedia and her Team sat on a row of seats to Gabriel's left. She noticed something off about him. His legs were spread wide, and his elbows rested on his knees. His eyes were focused on the back of the Transport as if he was in a trance. She was about to say something when her litter sister, Vijatà, smacked her on the shoulder. Yoremedia turns her head and, with annoyance, stares at her younger litter sister. Vijatà, on the other paws, had a massive grin on her face.
“Were you just checking out the Champion’s cannon?”
Vijatà asks with smugness in her voice. Yoremedia was confused as to what her litter sister was talking about. To Vijatà, Yoremedia’s confused look was a form of playing ignorance. A laugh escapes her lips, and her boisterous voice gets the attention of those around her.
“I knew you had it in you, Sis! No female could resist that beast resting inside the Champion’s pants! Like, you can even see the veins being traced by the tightness of his armor! Mmmm, so nice.”
Those taking a seat froze halfway when they heard Vijatà's loud voice. No one moved. Even the pilot, who was finishing the pre-fly check, also froze. Yoremedia and Vijatà stare at each other, one with a wide grin that looks like it would fall off her face. The other one had her jaw open, looking ready to go through Transport’s floor. They stared like that for minutes until a massive boom echoed throughout the Transport, and Vijatà's painful cries united with the enormous bang. Behind Vijatà stood Valè, whose lilac color scales and bioluminescent had turned to a deep crimson color as if she had bathed in blood.
“Sit the fuck down, Vijatà! And stay there! So, help me, by our Divine Goddesses! If you utter another word while we travel, I will have you demoted and on cleaning duty for the rest of your life! Think for a fucking second with your brain, not your twat! That is a Champion you are talking about. You damn brainless idiot!”
Vijatà held the back of her head, and a bump began to form. The young Tubinestian female violently turns her head around and stares daggers into her older litter sister. It was clear that Vijatà wanted to retort, but the intense rage filling Valè’s eyes made her reconsider. Seeing her younger litter sister finally using her brain instead of what she had between her legs, Valè turned to Champion Gab`riel and spoke.
“Champion, I am sorry for my Team member's action. I hope you have not taken her words to heart. She is young and has yet to learn how to interact with a male properly.”
Valè spoke with an apologetic and sincere tone. Everyone was now gazing at the Champion, who only stared at the back of the Transport. The only two other males inside the Transport knew the look the Champion was displaying, pure annoyance. Ùzonal and Bla`ol, alongside every male in the galaxy, knew how it felt to receive unwanted approaches or remarks from a female. Comments such as the one Vijatà made were so common that many females would receive a blast of Essence to the face before they could finish their sentence. Sighing, both Ùzonal and Bla`ol began to get up from their chair. The Champion needed comforting words from a fellow male. They needed to stick together, or else the females would get out of paw. As they got up, the Transport began to shake, surprising everyone.
“What in the Eight Agony plains is going on!?”
Screams the pilot over the Comms. Everyone in the back of the Transport was rocked back and forth, and thousands of scenarios ran through everyone's mind. Did the approaching battalion of the unknown begin attacking? Was the massive branch they found themselves on finally giving out? Everyone's training started to kick into gear, and they began to prepare for the worst when they heard the screams of Yoremedia.
“Gab`riel, you need to stop!”
Everyone turns and sees the Champion tapping his right foot up and down extremely fast. The force of his foot tapping was the cause of Transport's now violent shaking.
“Gab`riel, stop!”
Yoremedia screamed while she placed her left paw on Gabriel’s left shoulder. Gabriel’s right foot stops, and he turns his attention to Yoremedia.
“Oh hey, Yoremedia, did you say something?”
The Transport slowly stopped rocking. Everyone now had their eyes locked on Gabriel. Even the pilot had come down to check on what was going on.
“Gab`riel, are you ok?”
Yoremedia asked with concern. Gabriel looked at her puzzled, and a second later, realization hit him. Exhaling, he spoke.
“I…I just don’t like enclosed spaces. How soon are we heading out?”
Yoremedia’s eyes widened, and she understood Gab`riel’s odd behavior when he sat down. Turning her gaze to the display on her armor forearm, she began to contact the pilot. The familiar sound of Comms rings behind her, turning around. Yoremedia sees the pilot, a female Armitito, and everyone else staring at them. Ignoring the looks she was receiving, Yoremedia spoke.
“What are we waiting for? Are we ready to fly?”
Yoremedia's voice was stern and assertive, making the pilot step back before she spoke.
“We are ready. I just need to check the landing gear in case the rocking didn’t damage it.”
Yoremedia stared at the pilot, who had yet to move from her location. Sensing the other occupants’ stare, the pilot looks through her helmet’s visor. The rest of the Recon Team stared at her. Seeing this as a cue, the pilot headed to the cockpit and checked her 3D display for possible damage to the landing gear. The display came up with all greens, and she began the start-up sequence.
The lights in the back of the Transport changed to green, letting everyone know it was time to depart. Everyone began to sit back down again. Valè looks at her younger litter sister Vijatà giving her a clear warning. Vijatà just sat down and rubbed the back of her head while V`yx chuckled while sitting next to her. Valè turns her gaze back to the Champion and her litter sister, Yoremedia, who had sat next to the Champion and was talking to him in a low tone. Valè saw the concern on her litter sister's face, and her bioluminescent radiated a color of uneasiness. Valè felt a bit of anxiety. The Champion’s actions were similar to those of Team members whose PTSD had been triggered. She knew of the aftermath of the battle with the Yossu and how the Champion was critically injured, but the detail of his battle or what had happened to him was kept under a very tight leash. Valè understood the reasoning: a mortally injured Champion and being stranded on this planet would plummet the crew's morale to the point that more than half would not survive past a cycle.
The 3D image of the Transport flying grabs Valè’s attention. The Transport was already in the air. Taking a seat, Valè decided to keep a watchful eye on the Champion. Ùzonal and Bla`ol saw how Valè reacted and looked at the Champion. The Champion was whispering to Yoremedia. The Champion still looked annoyed and uncomfortable, yet he looked calmer compared to a few seconds ago. Ùzonal and Bla`ol Looked at each other for a second and decided to join Yoremedia. Having other males around might help the Champion relax.
*****
The Transport had flown cautiously and carefully, making a five-minute trip to their LZ into ten. Still, those ten minutes were hell for Gabriel. Even having Yoremedia and her two teammates around him, Gabriel still felt uncomfortable as the memories of his time inside the shuttle started kicking in. The memories only faded when Yesleta used their link to talk to him. Now disembarking the Transport, it was a battle to convince her that he was fine.
(Kitty-cat, I am fine.)
(Gabriel, I could sense your discomfort through our link. Don’t you lie to me.)
Gabriel could only sigh. He was thankful for Yesleta being worried, but now wasn’t the time for this. He and the Recon Team needed to get their butts into gear. Taking a deep breath, he spoke in their link.
(Yesleta, kitty-cat, I’m fine. The doors to the Transport are open, and I don’t feel so closed in. plus, if it makes you feel better. I will see Zè once this mission is over.)
Gabriel could feel Yesleta's Indecisiveness through their link. She wanted him to return as she thought she was putting him in danger, but on the other hand, sending the Recon team without his unique abilities was another type of danger she was sending the Recon Team into. After a minute or so, Gabriel felt Yesleta come to a conclusion.
(Fine, the moment you touch base, I want you to see Zè. No deviation. Just walk to the Healer of the mind field office and talk to him. And you better keep the link open.)
Gabriel could only chuckle for a bit before he could reply.
(I will don’t worry. I got to go now. I am the last one left inside the Transport.)
Gabriel said as he got close to the Transport’s door. The ray of light from the system's star tilted, notifying everything that night would soon arrive. As he stepped outside, he saw the rest of the Recon Team fully loaded and with their helmets equipped. Light engulfs Gabriel’s head, and everyone from the Recon Team is surprised by the sudden burst of light. As soon as the light appeared, it banished. What replaced it was a simple helmet with interesting markings and a visor-shaped “T.” Behind the visor, everyone saw The Champion’s glowing eyes, which sent shivers down their very souls.
“Are we ready to head out?”
Gabriel's deep voice broke the soul-chilling grasp that every Recon Team member found themselves in. Valè being the first to be free from the chill that took hold of her soul, spoke.
“Ah…Yes, Champion…we are ready.”
Gabriel was confused by Valè’s reaction but paid no mind to it. Walking to the group, he began to fire off his Combat Mods and link himself to the Recon Team’s electronic combat system. Valè’s HUD flickered for a second then the world around her changed—colors she had never seen before painted the world around her. Leaves were more vibrant. She saw the tiniest insects flying around or crawling on the ground. All painted in different colors. The flow of sap inside the massive tree was free for her to watch. Just what in the name of her Divine Goddesses was going on? She looked around at the rest of the Recon Team, but they were as confused as her…except for Vijatà, who was playing with her paws, trying to touch the new colors around her.
“Junior team leader Valè I have linked myself to the Recon Team’s electronic combat system. Everyone will see and hear the world around me as I do and will be able to keep track of me once we head out. Lastly, I have set this to the lowest settings. The different light spectrums, radio waves, and the bioelectricity of various living beings should not overwhelm your senses. Just don’t stare too long, or you’ll get vertigo.”
Hearing the Champion’s explanation, everyone turns to him with awe and amazement. They were seeing the world around them as how a Champion would. Even Valè was taken a bit back. She saw a world only privy to those blessed by her Devine Goddesses as Champions. Yet something in the back of her mind was nagging at her. What did the Champion mean by keeping “track” of him?” Before she could ask, the Champion disappeared, leaving no trace of himself.
“Champion?”
Valè asks with concern as the scales on her back begin to rise. Yoremedia and her Team hear Valè’s concerned voice and turn to where Gabriel should’ve been. They see nothing as if the massive being that is Gabriel was never there, to begin with.
“Over here, Junior team leader Valè.”
The deep voice of the Champion came from next to Vijatà, who jumped in surprise. Everyone jerked their heads toward the disembodied voice, yet they saw nothing. Suddenly a silhouette of the Champion appears, making Vijatà do a backflip and fly a few hundred feet in the air before landing.
“What in the Agony Plains is that!?”
Vijatà screamed at the top of her lung as she landed. A small chuckle could be heard from the silhouette, and soon the silhouette began taking color, and the Champion appeared.
“Forgive me. I did not consider the delay your electronic system would encounter once I linked with it. Your tech is a bit outdated compared to what I have.”
Again, everyone was surprised, not by the Champion disappearing, but because their system could not pick him up. Goddess of Science Inelina created the HUD and electronic combat system to track and pinpoint any type of Agony Demon, even if it had shifted or phased from their reality to an adjacent plane, making it “invisible.”
“Champion, how did you mask yourself from our systems!”
Bla`ol screamed. The Tiverno male excitement could not be contained, even with him wearing his heavy Mecha. Gabriel turned his gaze to the over-excited male. Seeing the Champion lock his eyes on him made Bla`ol flinch a little.
“One of my many Ge…Gifts are the ability to control electromagnetism in its complete form. Allowing me to create a bubble that copies the electromagnetic fields of particles of whatever is around me. Kind of like, see a rock be a rock type of thing. So when your HUD was scanning, the bubble copied its spectrum and turned me invisible to your system.”
Bla`ol was left speechless.
“Junior team leader Valè. Permission to scout ahead?”
The Champion’s voice broke the stunned daze everyone found themselves in. Mentally kicking herself, Valè scolded herself for quickly losing track of what she came to do. Turning to the Champion, she spoke.
“Champion, I want you to scout ahead of us, but please don’t stray too far. We are only 3.4 Mi away from the advancing force. That’s pretty much a stone's throw away, making it easy for any of their scout units to come this way. Lastly, keep the channel open. I don’t care how mundane something looks. I want you to notify me ASAP. Everyone else maintains scouting protocol. Bla`ol, your Mecha has more computing power than any of our armors. I want you to monitor our real-time movement and advancing forces using the satellites.”
Everyone nodded to Valè’s command and began to move. The Champion disappears, but everyone quickly sees his transparent silhouette. As the group progressed, Valè turned to her Comms and ordered the pilot’s Transport to depart. The Transport took off and flew back to the Command Center. With that done, she gave a simple report to Command Center: Recon Team heading out. Command Center's reply was simple, Goddess speed and good hunting.
