Fextralife has a more tabulated approach on the info that helps you get a quick glance on what you are looking for with lesser clicks but may have only concise information compared to Game8. For example, If you are looking for an item drop from a small monster, Fextralife will show you drop rates and which map to visit for your hunt. Game8 will give you a little more and show you the areas in the map where these small monsters are located. Intro If you're a beginner to the game or the series in general, the beginning sections and tutorials will naturally be quite overwhelming. Take things one step at a time, find a weapon that fits your play style best and enjoy the ride until you get a decent amount of monster hunts in to familiarize yourself with the game. There will be tons of things to tweak and learn about on this game and no single article can give justice to the complexities of how to fully optimize your experience so additional research is recommended. Treat this article as a supplementary guide. Efficiency Tips Enjoy the story and progress through the main quest line as soon and as often as you can. The reason for this is as you progress through the story and your hunter rank increases, more equipment upgrades will be available to you along with the ability to upgrade the base defense of your gear further which unlocks incrementally as you increase in rank. The more defense you have means the more hits you can take and less healing items you consume which you can spend learning the monsters moves and hitting it. Work on the 🏆 Beat-up Construction Kit as soon as possible and unlock all camp site locations on each map so you can fast travel conveniently closer to your target's location. Materials List and Locations can be found here on Game8 to search for your gear and quest requirements. Browse it or simply drop the item you are looking for on the search bar. Blights and Status Ailments Explained and their Cures is explained best in GadgetGabe's Top Voted answer from this GameFAQs forum. Use this wisely to cure yourself ASAP and stay at tip top shape for your fight. You can eventually customize your item load outs when hunting particular monsters. Register an inventory and radial menu layout that is best for your hunt and tweak it accordingly if you are working on a solo hunt or are in a group. You can set up your action bar (the bar that uses the left and right d-pad) too. Learn about monster elemental and ailment weaknesses, weak points and parts that you can sever to improve your success rate in a fight. E.g. Flash bombs work well on monsters in flight. Severing a Pukei-pukei's tail makes the monster incapable of it's wide poison gas attack. Monster Elemental and Ailment Weaknesses and Immunities credit to Pro Game Guides. Monster Hunter Rise explains monster elemental weaknesses well but does not give too much of a description of what elements the monster utilizes against you. To learn that and build the right resistances, refer to the Fextralife MHR Wiki. As you progress through your hunts, make sure to pick up any hunting helpers and golden/gilded spiribugs along the way. You will need 500 and 1000 respectively for the trophies 🏆 Hunting Helpers Plate and 🏆 Golden Spiribug Plate. If you want to farm Spiribugs exclusively, this video shows an excellent route while displaying some skills on speedy map traversal. When you are in town, there will be times when you will be prompted that a sale is ongoing from the two merchants. Always take action on this prompt and participate in the lottery that is only available during this sale to progress towards the 12 room decorations you need to win as part of the 🏆 Sturdy Padlock. If the grand prize of the lottery is a room decoration, you have to roll a Jackpot (different from a Bingo) to win it. The fastest method to earn zenny is by participating in the 2 Star Low Rank Event Quest - Gotta Hoard Fast!. It can be done with a group in 1 minute and rewards you with a Golden Egg which you can sell to the merchant for 20,000z. Use whenever you are short on money. This is also the best quest to use if you want to trigger merchant sales quickly and roll on the lottery. Using your silk bind/aerial moves to deliver mount damage (indicated by a blue cloud background on the damage inflicted) is a good tactic to learn and master. Arekkz Gaming's Monster Riding Tutorial video explains this well. You can also scout the area where you mount the monster and bump him into special areas on the map that will deal extra damage. High Rank Quests An Armorcharm and Powercharm will now be available to purchase from the two item merchants. These work as permanent stat increases as long as you have them in your Item Pouch. When you reach HR7, you will eventually be able to upgrade these charms into Armortalon and Powertalon. These stack and you may repurchase Armorcharm and Powercharm and hold all four items in your Item Pouch. Decorations will unlock from the Smithy and the Melding Pot will unlock from the item merchants. This would be a good time to study the skills you have available in conjunction with your armor skills and start creating defensive/offensive load outs based on what you are up against. For talisman crafting via the Melding Pot, craft out the desired skill you need and use accordingly. Once you have your talisman of choice, always roll with Melding - Wisp of Mystery and Melding - Rebirth (unlocks last on a higher HR). They will cost more materials to craft, but will also have better chances of a Rarity 7 Talisman with more skills and better decoration slots. Prepare status resistances/immunities depending on the monsters you are up against and build up defense, elemental defense and even add elemental attack against them as well. Take note that elemental attack increases on skills only increases an existing element on weapons (or elemental ammo for bowguns) and can not create an element from a non-elemental weapon source. For more on elemental damage and elemental resistances, see Fextralife's articles linked accordingly. Armorskin and Demondrug and their corresponding Mega version are items consumed once and will last until you faint or complete the quest. Invest in them as soon as you have the zenny to afford them. You will need to farm Pale Extract from the monster Khezu or purchased as a rare find in the Argosy to craft the mega drugs. You may also choose to deploy the meowcenaries to fight a Khezu to increase your item farm. Master Rank Quests and Sunbreak Content With Sunbreak comes a whole new base map and two new locations to explore. Like the base game, there are a number of trophies that involve you interacting with the townsfolk and the goods and services they have to offer. Refer to this video guide for a checklist of what you need to be doing after every quest to cover the trophies 🏆 Snowy Cohoot Minipouch, 🏆 Secret Honey Jar, 🏆 Unbreakable Bag, 🏆 Solid Padlock, 🏆Polychrome Acorn and 🏆 Sojourn Necklace. 🏆 Solid Padlock requires another set of items you need to win in the lottery but take note that the Gargolda Statue only starts appearing after you take a picture of it. Take a daytime expedition for a photo of the creature. Gamer Guru's video shows you how to do it. Refer to Game8's Eurekacorn article for more ways on farming Eurekacorns for your Polychrome Acorn trophy. Efficiency Tip: Target an expedition with a Herb Node in the Frost Islands together with a Khezu Node for both Eurekacorns and Pale Extracts. For efficient map traversal, unlock the alternative camp sites on the two new Sunbreak areas along with the new buddy recon points. You will have to unlock 2 recon points per map, for a total of 12 for 🏆 Buddy Whistle. Darcblade has an excellent video guide to cover this. Crown Hunting 🏆 Mini Crown Plaque and 🏆 Gold Crown Plaque will most likely be the last trophies you will get in the game as these are very grindy to obtain. These entail slaying or capturing the smallest and largest versions of each monster, awarding you a gold crown on your Hunter's Notes. An alternative grouped view of all your crowns can be found in OPT -> Multiplayer -> Guild Cards -> View -> L1 for Hunting Log. Unlike MH World, Rise does not include a crown notification in the points reward section after a hunt. You will have to check your Hunter Notes manually. You do get a prompt of "Monster Size Updated" right after the kill or capture though as your best indicator of a possible crown. Crown Hunting Tips and Drop Rates explained by Luke Albigés of TrueAchievements Efficient Strategy You will want to clear out all the crowns you can possibly obtain from the quests with the 100% chance or boosted crown rate quests. For everything else, learn how to crown snipe to save time and not waste too much time on normal sized targets. If your are sure that your target monster is not a crown size, abort your quest and start a new one. Take note that you need to capture/kill 10 monsters of each type for their respective monster scroll to progress on your 🏆 Sturdy Padlock so anything close to a perceived small or large crown would be worth the kill. The Sunbreak Expansion and Master Rank buffs up the crown monsters appearance rate to as high as 10% for large and 6% for minis. You are best saving the crown hunt for last as you have to tackle Anomaly Investigations for the Sunbreak 🏆 Bahari's Hand Wound Birdie, which entails you earning and spending 3000 Investigation Coins as rewards for these type of quests along with clearing out every single Master Rank quest for the 🏆 Record of Utmost Valor - Master and clearing out 1-4 star anomaly quests for the 🏆 Painting - Crimson Nightmare. There are a total of 7 1-star anomaly quests to unlock and 8 quests for 2-4 stars. There is a good chance that you will be earning majority of these crowns along your progression towards these three trophies with minimal crown cleanup. Videos for Monster Measurements As of this writing, there seems to be a lack of content on Large and Mini Gold Crowns for MH Rise. Below is video clips to give some clues on how these monster sizes will look when you encounter them. Monster sizes with 100% chance drop quests will be excluded from this segment. Kiranico has an excellent large monster guide which also displays the recommended quest to participate in with corresponding crown percentages. Anomaly Investigation quest monsters have fixed sizes and will never yield any crowns. The normal Anomaly Quests will share the same 6% small and 10% large crown chance as the MR quests. Refer to the Gold Crown Shield segment of Powerpyx's guide for the full list. Powerpyx's guide for all Relic Locations shows these well. There is a correction to the linked article however, as it is mentioned there that the Rampage Relics unlock after collecting all 10 other Relics per map but is incorrect (unsure what triggers rampage Relic availability but I had access to them at 5 star quest availability on Village and Hub quests). To track the relics you have collected already, go to OPT -> Info -> Hunter Notes -> Notebook. Other Useful Information Affinity vs Raw Damage is discussed well on this steamcommunity forum. The difference between KO/Stun and Trip is explained will in this article. Note that KO and Stun status are the same (in game and articles call it one or the other so this can be confusing) but Trip status is different. Critical Boost at level 1 raises damage dealt by critical hits by 5%. Your critical hits are already at a base amplified damage of 25% (not mentioned in-game). This could be deceiving due to the in-game skill definition. Palamutes and Palicos you bring on the hunt increase your ease and efficiency and are best slotted with the best gear for your playstyle. Game8 has an excellent buddy guide that discusses end game builds. Use the Basic behavior if you are running a melee focused buddy and Follow if you are using a ranged buddy. This is discussed thoroughly by CheaterMcCheat. On solo hunts, don't let the common combo of 1 Palico and 1 Palamute mold you to run with that as there are several builds that utilize 2 Palicos or 2 Palamutes in one hunt. For example, you may want to use a double Palamute with C Jelly Travel Bag X weapon on the Best Equipment For Sunbreak (Ranged)segment. Accompanied with the Palamute Silkbinder, this build can provide excellent monster control. Ordering Motley Mixes in the canteen nets you dango tickets as a reward. Claim it from the chef after some orders and use the tickets with hopping skewers on your harder hunts. Latent Power skill is triggered by an internal timer upon monster encounter and attack animations and is explained here on Fextralife's wiki. Auto-shoutouts are useful for your party and even yourself. You can program these auto shoutouts via OPT -> Multiplayer -> Chat Menu -> Triangle and click on the field under Text to program what you want to shout-out, choose the box under speech timing to choose the condition. These conditions aren't fixed and you have more to choose from. The most useful ones are the auto shoutouts for "When you set a trap" and "When a monster is limping" where the monster enters the blue icon state and is capturable if it is not an elder, apex or afflicted monster. Light Bowgun Light Bowgun Basic Moves and Ammo Types credit to Phemeto Pay attention to the color of your reticle. An orange reticle tells you that your ammo type is in its ideal range and will deal its intended damage. A yellow reticle means your shots will hit, but will be significantly weaker. The Fanning Vault Silkbind skill is best used with your Wyvernblast special ammo. Press circle while you are directly under the monster to plant a bomb directly on it. You will be replacing this with the Switch Skill Fanning Maneuver for end game builds. Ammo Details can be found by going to Items and Equipment (opt button) -> Equipment Info -> Ammo Details (square) You will normally run out of your full magazine of your most desired ammo. To minimize returning to camp, bring the materials you need to craft that ammo and set it on your radial menu. Also, avoid bringing the ammo type you never use to keep your ammo menu as decluttered as possible for efficient ammo switching. It is encouraged to bind the ammo you use and their craft commands in your radial menu as well. Recoil is the delay between firing shots (different from Reload delay). Lower recoil = Faster Attack Speed Deviation is the drift of the bullets when you fire. If you have a weapon with deviation, it will travel center for a medium distance then swerve to the L or R depending on the strength of the deviation. Targeting "No deviation" is ideal. Decorations can be crafted to reduce Reload, Recoil and Deviation. Light Bowgun Weapon & Armor Skills Bombardier skill does not work with any ammos, including sticky, cluster, or wyvernblast. Normal/Rapid Up skill improves Normal Ammo damage by 5%/10%/20% and stacks with the skill Rapid Fire Up which enhances rapid fire damage also by 5%/10%/20% Great Sword Recommended Switch Skills are Tackle, Rage Slash (RS), and Adamant Charged Slash (ACS). All three can tank monster attacks (no knockbacks) and negates roar effects. Tackle is the bread and butter during roars and quick monster attacks since its easy to trigger, You can use Adamant Charged Slash for positioning, and Rage Slash to land your last charged attack on your desired direction, which True Charged Slash Skill cant do. How to Unlock: Adamant Charged Slash - Unlocked by crafting/upgrading 8 different Greatswords, no duplicates. Replaces the Hunting Edge skill. Rage Slash - Unlocked by completing the quest "Grasp the Greatsword" (HR5 Quest). Replaces the True Charged Slash skill. We’re both in our early 20s. Im sorry for the long post, just want everyone to get a clear picture of the situation. You can skip to the end if you want.
I’ve been with Cam for a few months now. When we met, it was like sparks were flying. It was an instant connection and we would always say we met at the right time. We both were getting out of our party stage and buckling down on more important aspects of our lives.
3 weeks ago we had an amazing weekend. We opened up so much to each other and just stayed inside the house enjoying our presence. He told me he wouldn’t be able to see me during the week bc of work and i understood. We work opposite schedules and he lives far away so i didn’t ask to see him at all during the week. 1st weekend came and he told me he couldn’t see me bc he had to help his friend with his mom. His friend mom had cancer so again, no trying to convince him to come. Memorial Day he only texted me good morning and then when he got off work but was silent. The next day, he came into my town because he had to give his brother something (his brother lives in my town) and stopped by. He told me that over the weekend he went to say his final goodbyes to his friends mom and she passed away on Memorial Day. He started crying and i comforted him. I only saw him for maybe 20 minutes before he said he had to go to see his friend. We kissed bye and he said he would see me soon.
That week he had a tooth removal procedure and the funeral but Saturday told me he had his bag packed to come over. But suddenly he tells me his mom is freaking out on him and he can’t come. He lives with his parents and i can tell they have a big say on what he can and can’t do. I mean i get it, one we’re both Hispanic so that’s a whole different story when it comes to parents and 2. You live under their roof, you follow their rules no matter how old you are.
I got annoyed bc since Wednesday, he was telling me he would come see me everyday but then something would happen that he couldn’t but i never showed annoyance towards it. I didn’t put any blame on him, i just said i was sad bc i kept getting my hopes up to then feel let down but i understand it’s been a crazy + tough 2 weeks so to just not tell me that he’s coming until he knows for sure. The comment he made after i said that just made me feel like his parents had something to do with it. He told me that i do live far so he understands why his parents be tripping out on him. Then he said to just give him a good day to drive his truck down here and he’s sorry, that he’s not trying to bail on me. When he comes to see me, he always drives the “family car” which is a newer car and never his truck bc it’s old and he’s nervous to drive it so far. He drove it here once and told me he had to fill it up twice and it was almost $100. For him to tell me he needs to find a good day to bring his truck here just tells me his parents don’t want him driving to my city so they probably aren’t letting him use the family car knowing he can’t take the truck to see me. That would be $100 everytime for just a few hours. He had also been a little distant, he was taking longer to respond and wasn’t being as expressive, he would always send me snaps and voice notes but stopped and just being closed off.
The next couple days we were okay, but then Monday night, things just started to feel off. On Tuesday our communication was basically none and he just didn’t seem to be all there. Wednesday i asked if we could talk and just said i noticed he was being distant and if he still wanted to pursue something with me. That I’m wondering if there was anything he wasn’t telling me and i just want to be able to support him in any way possible but feel like I’m in the dark. I’ve just had this intuition feeling that part of his behavior had to do with his parents and wanted to see if he would tell me.
It took him 6 hours to respond and he told me I it’s been a difficult few weeks and has been dealing with everything. That i haven’t done anything wrong and been great and he doesn’t want me to feel like I’m on the back burner but he needs to change some things about himself and thinks it’s best if he stays to himself. He would feel bad dragging me along and I’ve done nothing but show him love. It’s just not good timing and he doesn’t want to lie and string me along.
He caught me off guard. He did this once, about 2 weeks in, he got in trouble with his dad because we were on the phone at 4am and he tried to run away but we talked about it and he admitted he was scared but that we were in this together. He says i deserve a lot and he wants to give it to me so he needs to focus on him so he can focus on us. Since that conversation, he didn’t try to run away until now.
This time feel like that but only this time, he didn’t engage with what i said back. The only part he responded too was one of me saying that i needed my game console back as family is visiting and i needed it to distract the little kids. He told me he would give it to my friend who lives in the same city as him. That to me also just showed signs that he either can’t or isn’t allowed to come to my city. But then I said why couldn’t he bring it, he took it so he needs to bring it back and he said he works doubles the next few days but will stop by on Tuesday.
I just said okay and we haven’t talked since then. That was earlier today and idk. Something inside of me just says this isn’t over. Who knows if he’ll come on Tuesday but i don’t plan on reaching back out to him until then. I’m not going to post on social media and try to make it seem like i want him to notice me. We have each others locations and he hasn’t turned his off for me either.
I know Aquarius has a tendency of running away when things start getting serious and with all the stuff he’s had going on, i just think he feels overwhelmed. I still also feel like his parents are playing a heavy role. The thing about cam, he won’t tell me things over text, only in person. Like with his friends mom, i just thought he was helping his friend out and it wasn’t until i saw him that i found out it was to say his last goodbye.
When he comes over, I’m not sure how to act. I want him to come inside but i don’t want to push him too hard. I know once we’re in person, he’ll most likely open up. I think the no communication until then is a good idea but it’s the seeing him in person that i don’t know how to approach. Is this just him pushing away because he stressed? What is my best course of action right now. I just don’t believe this is a case of losing feelings, this is something deeper than that.

The next couple days we were okay, but then Monday night, things just started to feel off. On Tuesday our communication was basically none and he just didn’t seem to be all there. Wednesday i asked if we could talk and just said i noticed he was being distant and if he still wanted to pursue something with me. That I’m wondering if there was anything he wasn’t telling me and i just want to be able to support him in any way possible but feel like I’m in the dark. I’ve just had this intuition feeling that part of his behavior had to do with his parents and wanted to see if he would tell me.
It took him 6 hours to respond and he told me I it’s been a difficult few weeks and has been dealing with everything. That i haven’t done anything wrong and been great and he doesn’t want me to feel like I’m on the back burner but he needs to change some things about himself and thinks it’s best if he stays to himself. He would feel bad dragging me along and I’ve done nothing but show him love. It’s just not good timing and he doesn’t want to lie and string me along.
He caught me off guard. He did this once, about 2 weeks in, he got in trouble with his dad because we were on the phone at 4am and he tried to run away but we talked about it and he admitted he was scared but that we were in this together. He says i deserve a lot and he wants to give it to me so he needs to focus on him so he can focus on us. Since that conversation, he didn’t try to run away until now.
This time feel like that but only this time, he didn’t engage with what i said back. The only part he responded too was one of me saying that i needed my game console back as family is visiting and i needed it to distract the little kids. He told me he would give it to my friend who lives in the same city as him. That to me also just showed signs that he either can’t or isn’t allowed to come to my city. But then I said why couldn’t he bring it, he took it so he needs to bring it back and he said he works doubles the next few days but will stop by on Tuesday.
I just said okay and we haven’t talked since then. That was earlier today and idk. Something inside of me just says this isn’t over. Who knows if he’ll come on Tuesday but i don’t plan on reaching back out to him until then. I’m not going to post on social media and try to make it seem like i want him to notice me. We have each others locations and he hasn’t turned his off for me either.
I know Aquarius has a tendency of running away when things start getting serious and with all the stuff he’s had going on, i just think he feels overwhelmed. I still also feel like his parents are playing a heavy role. The thing about cam, he won’t tell me things over text, only in person. Like with his friends mom, i just thought he was helping his friend out and it wasn’t until i saw him that i found out it was to say his last goodbye.
When he comes over, I’m not sure how to act. I want him to come inside but i don’t want to push him too hard. I know once we’re in person, he’ll most likely open up. I think the no communication until then is a good idea but it’s the seeing him in person that i don’t know how to approach. Is this just him pushing away because he stressed? What is my best course of action right now. I just don’t believe this is a case of losing feelings, this is something deeper than that.

So last July 2022 i was caught cheating and i was immediately taken back, only for her to not trust in me anymore and kicked me out in November for a break. She then tried to move on from me but kept coming back until January she fully committed to coming back. Even though she came back she became extremely avoidant and we would constantly go back and forth because i would get extremely anxious and wanted to be there for her. But she turned a lot of things down such as dates or outings and put her head in books,school, and friends so it was getting pretty difficult for me especially since we would end up seeing each other only once a month. She would never tell me when she felt down from the cheating and instead just ignore me for hours and that would always make me feel anxious and insecure. Anyways, she finally agreed to see me consistently in May and we did that for 2 weeks, it was her birthday month so i got her a gift and we celebrated her bday twice and i would bring her a coffee every morning before school up until she went on a birthday trip for the last two weeks of may. But when she came back she lost all respect for me and didn’t want to talk at all because she didn’t “know what i did” during her trip and took it out on me because of the cheating i did 10 months ago. So she avoided me but spent time with friends and that frustrated me so much because i was excited to see her. So i decided to let go, and she was okay with that saying thank you for everything and saying sorry for being selfish. I thought it was going to be ending in good terms until i activated my Instagram again and she had a problem, she was very insecure dming girls if i slept with them and made me block girls so ultimately i decided to delete my Instagram and Snapchat. So when i got it back she was upset thinking I’ll be getting friends back and i asked her do you want to talk about us instead of that because i loved her i didn’t immediately wanted to find anyone new and still don’t, so it didn’t seem necessary when i was pulling away but she still didn’t want to talk about that but instead she said “not today” like she has been since the break. So i got upset and blocked her, but i feel like my emotions got the best of me and we just both needed to detach from our old relationship for a bit so i unblocked her from Instagram. But now, i see that I’m blocked everywhere but Twitter because she doesn’t know my account. My question is do you guys think the relationship is worth saving since it feels like she’s been giving up? I feel like it’s a little weak of me reaching out through Twitter because it’s a last resort but idk it’s been a month since i blocked her.

I started a channel for relaxing lofi music a week ago and generally use thumbnails that have aesthetic landscape backgrounds with simple text like "Chill Lofi Vibes" across it. Spotify uses thumbnails like these and I found 2 other channels that use them successfully as well.
Most lofi youtubers use anime thumbnails though, which kind of seems to be the lofi brand, and I found some really good looking images I could use. Now I'm not sure if it would hurt to mix things up and try out some anime thumbnails.
Changing thumbnails later won't work, since I use them as background images for the videos themselves as well.

I was scared and wondering why would they put this on the tv the screen cut to black for a good 6 minutes with a engine noise it cut to Anais locked in a car going off a river the car was slowly sinking with nobody in it the car kept on sinking then filling up Anais standed on one of the seats but she didn’t make it and drowned
At this point wondering if this was real but then I Nicole buried alive a bomb was strapped on her neck she started to suffocate and she passed out but suddenly she woke up looks down and noticed the bomb was at 60 seconds she started trying to break the coffin but then a bunch of maggots started getting on her and getting in her ears and nose she cried and then the bomb went off right where Richard was about to save her Richard also got blown up to then the episode ended

SG is my weekend relief auditor. Works a couple weekday shifts as security as well. He patrols the halls, and walks the parking lot, on the lookout for Trouble™. And tonight, he found it. He comes back in from a walk around the lot, then goes out to the patio. Moments later, he returns.
SG: "I just caught a guy pissing on the patio."
Me, internally: "Oh joy. So this is how tonight's gonna be, huh?"
Me: "A guest?"
SG: "Yeah, he's in room 762. Will you confirm for me that there's someone in that room?"
Me: "Yup. Looks like there is indeed a guy in there. Checked in tonight."
SG: "So, what do we do?"
Me: "I'm inclined to call the cops, but I know tonight's MOD is still awake, so I'm gonna let him decide."
MOD tells me that as per AGM - yeah, he called her - we're to give them one chance to return to their rooms. She'll see about charging them a damage fee tomorrow. If they don't go? Cops. Alright. Fine.

It's Thursday. Which means it's not Friday. So things shouldn't be that bad, right?

Cast: Me, Security Guy(SG), PU(that's a surprise acronym that will be relevant later), Drunk Guys Three. Any names mentioned have been changed to protect the moronic.
SG is my weekend relief auditor. Works a couple weekday shifts as security as well. He patrols the halls, and walks the parking lot, on the lookout for Trouble™. And tonight, he found it. He comes back in from a walk around the lot, then goes out to the patio. Moments later, he returns.
SG: "I just caught a guy pissing on the patio."
Me, internally: "Oh joy. So this is how tonight's gonna be, huh?"
Me: "A guest?"
SG: "Yeah, he's in room 762. Will you confirm for me that there's someone in that room?"
Me: "Yup. Looks like there is indeed a guy in there. Checked in tonight."
SG: "So, what do we do?"
Me: "I'm inclined to call the cops, but I know tonight's MOD is still awake, so I'm gonna let him decide."
MOD tells me that as per AGM - yeah, he called her - we're to give them one chance to return to their rooms. She'll see about charging them a damage fee tomorrow. If they don't go? Cops. Alright. Fine.
We make sure the desk is secure, and SG follows me outside.
Me: "Evening gentlemen. So, I just got off the phone with my boss, and I've been instructed to inform you that the patio is closed because some people don't know how to behave like adults in fucking public. This is your one and only chance to go to your room."

I really need some advice and ideally some calming down! Our girl is nearly a year old, and has been crate trained since she was 3 months. In the day she sleeps around the house but at night she always sleeps in her crate and has had 0 issues with it for the past 9 months. We've gone away and left her with a very well trusted dog sitter. This is not the first time we've left her overnight.
Yesterday we had to leave for our train at 5.15am, the dog sitter was getting there at 7. She's been left alone in her crate in the house for 2/3 hours before with no fuss, just never at that time in the morning, so I wasn't worried about her. She would normally just go back to sleep.
Fast forward, dog sitter arrives, we dont hear that she's stressed or anything like that so all is good. Last night we get a message that she's howling in her crate after being put away for bed. Very weird. About 30 mins later she's still going, dog sitter has let her outside etc, it's not a toilet problem. so we suggest opening the crate door so she can roam th bkitchen, then apparently she howls and jumps at the baby gate trying to get upstairs. AI art helps fill in the blanks and saves some time for artists like backgrounds and stuff. And writing, writer's block gets practically eliminated.
These are very great inventions and I for one cannot wait to develop my artistic sense good enough to allow me to utilize these things as well.
Although, going back to a previous post I've made, translations are still a far cry. Well, a far cry last I've checked. Hopefully it got to be a bit better. I for one am still for human translators but knowing the integrity issue for many official translators I understand if that one would come to replace them. I do wonder how the scanlation community would handle that but eh, I'll just see if HobbyDrama has anything for that in the near future.
So back to my main topic, AI Art and Writing. Very big pushback from the art community and the writing community, which I take is very liberal and filled to the brim with the woke. Them "LGBT romance is always a new hope while straight romance is a toxic mess with relationships beyond salvation" people.
And my question was that is they against these new tech because of the fact that they're gonna be out of a job or livelihood? Like I get the threat but if these writer's striking can have their jobs be done by an AI that's not even, I'd like to say useable but I am certain some peeps are making their scripts with AI and a touch of human touch as well, but we'll it's not really being used by the bigwigs...yet. And the fact that that option is available is a threat to them and they just don't seem all that talented then. That's me two cents for these writers. I've experienced better stories on the comment sections of writing prompts than what these folks striking were putting out.
But I also understand that having one's worked be treated like just cheap labor is wack. Pulp writers were paid lowly wages. If anything, it's the Japanese animators who needs to get workers rights not these Starbucks drinking car toting living in California peeps. If they at least had the work ethic and integrity of the Japanese.
So next is Art. Elitism I say. One can argue that it's stealing art but all art is stealing. Techniques, processes, ideas. Tarantino once said, "Great artists steal" and that's something I agree with. References for the sake of reference sucks but if it is done with intent to move the plot forward, yes.
Although I'm on the fence of AI art should join art contests and such but that is beyond me.
As a consumer, I enjoy a good story, some good art and maybe a bit of variety. Something that I really hope this tech would bring out to people.

I'm tired of my mother taking out all of her frustration on me. I've been keeping my calm for a few years of this but yesterday was the last straw. She starts whining about my brother or some other issues totally unrelated to me out of the blue and then projects his faults onto me.
My brother was unemployed for four years after graduation while i was in high school, he failed his junior and senior years twice due to lack of motivation and declared he didn't want to work, saying some very harsh stuff to our parents. School was okay as I used to be top of my class each year but after that I havent really achieved anything academically except getting into med school and leading a few healthcare related organizations. I don't study as much as I used to but still get good grades in med school.
He finally has a job at a startup but mom whines that he doesn't earn as much as our cousin, who's younger than him and got a job right after graduation with the same degree. Or she'll complain how he doesn't listen to hedo anything for her and eventually shift all of his shortcomings on to me. There's a limit to how much you anger can take quietly so I snapped and when I raised my voice the entire family turned against me telling me to stop shouting. Yet no-one asks her to calm down when she goes off every single day.
I'm tired of this, I loved my mom a lot, I go all out to celebrate her, birthdays/mother's day and all. Even threw her a huge surprise party by calling all of her friends and family from different states, made handmade gifts for her despite having exams. My brother barely even wishes her. He only talks to her out of necessity, he's that way with me too but that's an entire other post. I feel like a fool, I've just made myself her punching bag by saying I love her so many times and by being so close to her. Years of trying to get her to understand her mistake, she doesn't even want to accept her faults. Every time we fight and when I talk to her a few days later she makes excuses saying she was stressed and we're close so I should be understanding. We've had the same conversation for years and she says she won't do it again but only when I refuse to talk to her, she never does since she doesn't actually mean it.
I literally have to spell out her mistakes every time after which she either blames stress/menopause, ignores me or shouts out a 'sorry' and storms off. And my dad can go without talking to me for months, probably even years. I can't do this anymore, so as much as this hurts me, I'm thinking of going no contact with them.

My brother was unemployed for four years after graduation while i was in high school, he failed his junior and senior years twice due to lack of motivation and declared he didn't want to work, saying some very harsh stuff to our parents. School was okay as I used to be top of my class each year but after that I havent really achieved anything academically except getting into med school and leading a few healthcare related organizations. I don't study as much as I used to but still get good grades in med school.
He finally has a job at a startup but mom whines that he doesn't earn as much as our cousin, who's younger than him and got a job right after graduation with the same degree. Or she'll complain how he doesn't listen to hedo anything for her and eventually shift all of his shortcomings on to me. There's a limit to how much you anger can take quietly so I snapped and when I raised my voice the entire family turned against me telling me to stop shouting. Yet no-one asks her to calm down when she goes off every single day.
I'm tired of this, I loved my mom a lot, I go all out to celebrate her, birthdays/mother's day and all. Even threw her a huge surprise party by calling all of her friends and family from different states, made handmade gifts for her despite having exams. My brother barely even wishes her. Okay, thank you guys for all the awards and gifts. I really appreciate it. I can't thank you guys enough. And don't worry, I paid for a nurse for a month for my MIL's care. I have no vendetta against her. I cannot leave her like that. Now onto the update. Yes, he got the papers, he called me yelling that this must be some kind of fucking joke and demanded me to come back. I kept my cool and told him I will be going through the divorce. I do not care about him or his mother. He has abused me and exploited me enough. I want my freedom. It is his mother. He can take care of her. He called me bunch of names. He said I was selfish and cruel for leaving an old sick woman by herself. I was not being a good wife. I told him he can talk to my lawyer if he needs to. I am done. I have hinted him about the divorce a long time ago when I stopped kissing him before going out. Maybe he didn't notice it because I was just a maid for his mother and not his wife. I explained that I hired a nurse for her. I don't care what he says or does, I will not be coming back.
He tried to gaslight and guilt trip me. He said that I am a c-u-n-t. He now doesn't feel guilty about cheating on me. Honestly, I don't care at this point. He can go fuck anyone else for all I care. I have been mentally checked out of this relationship for a long time. I got a call from his mother. She also tried to guilt trip me saying, she doesn't not want a stranger touching her. I told her I am sorry but I cannot waste my life away for nothing. She is in good hands. She is mad at her son because she thinks I am leaving him because he cheated. I don't have energy to explain things to her so I just said, my decision is final. Tell your son to sign the divorce papers asap. Because the more drags this matter, it will only waste his money because I have receipts that I was his mother's caretaker. I will very much likely get alimony because of it.
Also a lot of people asked me why it took me so long to leave. It was not easy. I had no money. It is costly to file for a divorce. And to hire a lawyer. Not to mention the time and emotional strain it causes because of the divorce. I have been struggling with depression and anxiety for a long time. It took me 1 year to get my shit together and leave. Plus when you have been with someone for a long time, they become a pat of you and thus it is even harder to leave. People don't always show who they are until way too many years down the road. Nobody has "abuser" written on their forehead. It would be easier to date if that was the case. Anyways, I will provide you guys with updates if something interesting comes up. First off I know this will sound incredibly one sided, but my vacation was ruined by a friend who I suspect has some mental health problem that she refuses to address.
The vacation was planned and discussed on what we wanted to do for the week. It had a mix of mine and her ideas which were agreed to. My ideas when it came to the holiday were basically pushed out and her ideas were at the forefront. If I even tried to maybe suggest something else or anything that was my suggestion to do she would throw a tantrum. She threw a tantrum when I finally got chance to do something I wanted to do. This was on the last full day too.
She left me by myself in a bar to go hiking at night. I suggested going in the day time as we were in party/going out attire with sandals and the hiking was obviously on a huge incline. Not only that I thought it was a bad idea her going by self in the dark. I suggested walking in the day with me so I could see the landmark she wanted to go to too. She refused and walked quickly off and then told me to “find a bar” and she’ll meet me there. I found one and bought a cocktail and there were people that made me feel a little uneasy. I had one guy check up on me and asked why my friend had left me alone and if anybody made me feel uncomfortable to speak to him. We planned to eat that night. After half an hour she came back from her hiking and then threw another tantrum and said she wasn’t going to eat, I shouldn’t of been drinking (she was like this the entire trip) and we were going back to the hotel. I didn’t eat until 7am the next morning.
She had a huge issue with me having one alcoholic beverage. We were on vacation I don’t drink much anyway. She full on judged me for drinking and then the next night downed an entire bottle of wine and got wasted. It was okay for her to drink and get wasted, but not okay for me to stay in town and have one drink.
She kept calling people in our hotel room and locking me out to call them. This was for over 2 hours.
She wanted to get back to call someone on our last evening out and when I said I wanted to go to a bar for one drink for a final evening drink she full on argued with me in a street full of people who looked at her in disgust and she gaslit me in front of everyone. She tried to twist the narrative that I was horrible and I shouldn’t criticise her and how she doesn’t drink (she downed a bottle of wine the night previous) and so we weren’t to drink as it wasn’t a good idea. She went to bed early after going back to the hotel and I stayed in the hotel lobby angry at the audacity. I kept up to date with family of this vacation whilst she slept.
She then criticised the fact I do CBT for my anxiety and I should just “love myself and fix myself instead of asking others to fix me” She also said she “fixes herself and doesn’t need to be fixed” (haha clearly)
She also casually threw the N word around multiple times by singing songs that contain the slur. I was disgusted. She didn’t see an issue with it. She’s not of any black ethnicity either.
When we arrived home she accused my dad’s friend (an airport transfer taxi driver) of probably leaving us stranded at the airport and how he wasn’t trustworthy to her. He picked us up alright and got us home safe. Made her look like a fool
For these reasons. The N word is pretty standard to cut someone off in my eyes alone, but please pick your travel partner wisely.

I (m26) recently went NC with my whole close family as I realised I have no bond, emotions or connection to them as a result of absentee parenting throughout my life.
My parents divorced when I was 1, so I've only ever known seperate families. I lived with my mom 90% of the time and saw my dad every other weekend.
My mom was a successful property lawyer who, when I was 10ish, moved into a mansion (5 bedrooms, all ensuite, 3 living rooms, think wisteria lane in the UK) with my step-dad and had to pay the mortgage of this as a result. This meant she basically worked her entire life to pay upkeep. My routine consisted of waking up, going to school (mom would be gone by the time I wake up), coming back from school, making myself food, playing pc in my own living room, and going to bed. I think I would speak to the people living in my own house maybe once a week, and even then it would be a passing hello. We would never eat together as we would eat in our own living rooms, and never did anything together on weekends either.
My dad on the other hand was a successful insurance salesman with his own business making 6 figures, but never seemed to spend any of that on me and my sibling and I, as I only remember eating tesco value food and receiving the worst dodgy no-thought gifts as a kid (think wrong size rollerskates from a car boot sale, a freebie 'highlights of bbc comedy' DVD, or a single off-brand lego set that I played with for years because that was the only thing I got). He would only spend time doing what he and my sibling wanted (outdoorsy, nature, exploration type things) and effectively dragged me along as a requirement not as someone else to join in. I never had fun because he never took the time to know me and understand what I might have wanted (toys, indoor bonding time type stuff) but I put on a face so that he thought I was okay.
My sibling (now 30 or 31) has suffered in many ways with mental health, bullying in school, and the need to academically excel. This all culminated in them taking 95% of the limited attention of both parents, so I've always just felt like spare parts to them. It's not their fault, but it just contributed to me being the discarded child. It also helped their bond with both parents, so now they call them both multiple times a week (sibling lives abroad) which has often brought up as spat in my face by my parents.
I will assume that you are the same as me, where you have one or two CRITICAL moments in your childhood that truly define your relationship with your parents. For me, mine all centre around my dad. He was diagnosed with parkinsons around 10 years ago, but he never told me - he did however tell my sibling and also his ex-wife (my mom). So nearly a year after they found out, they were discussing it idly in conversation and became the ones to reveal that my dad had a life-destroying illness. I have never been so stunned in my life, I remember the colour draining from my face and being unable to speak as I saw the faces on my mom & sister as they realised they were the ones that have uncovered this.
He did similar things by forgetting me at other crucial moments. I've only ever had one grand parent (his mom) as the rest died before I could remember, and she died a few years ago. He forgot to tell me that she died. He called me the day before the funeral and said 'what time will you get to the funeral' to which I remember answering 'who's funeral?'. It was 2 minutes before I walked into my office. He didn't forget to tell my sibling.
He also got married to my step-mom at some point and never told me, so just one day he was remarried and that's it. He didn't forget to tell my sibling.
A few years ago my mom told me she had a cancer scare and wasn't in the clear yet. My honest thoughts to this were that I didn't care about it. No one wants a stranger to get cancer, and that's exactly how I felt - I didn't want this stranger to get cancer, but I don't think I would care if they did?
I have been acting like I love and appreciate them since as far as I can remember as a performance for them, however after I came back from uni I struggled more and more to perform to keep them happy. One of the things that tipped the scales for me was the inability to watch any (and I mean any) movie containing a bog-standard family without crying and breaking down, because I would just wish that I had something similar. In my mind I literally begged for anything, I begged for a family that actually cared for me and understood a thing about me.
Conversely, since I came back from uni they have both been very communicative and tried to be a part of my life by asking about current circumstances (work, boyfriend, friends etc) a lot. It's clear they want to have a good relationship with their son from now but they represent the symbols of neglect and abandonment in my mind.
I recently tried to reconcile with them by explaining to them my feelings about my childhood, and quite importantly said that I felt they 'owed me' for giving me no love, no attention, no care, no parenting as a child. I had discussed this with a therapist and we concluded this was a reasonable way to wipe the slate clean, to get my parents to acknowledge and reimburse their failures, so that we could potentially find a way to start again. I'm really determined to buy a house but I can't do so without their help, so I asked for any contribution towards a deposit for that from both of them. Both of them reacted poorly, said that they didn't do anything wrong and are outraged that I would ask them for something like that.
After this happened I realised they don't care about how they treated me, and they want to try and have a relationship with me without acknowledging the past. I couldn't accept this as a conclusion so I told them how I felt and have now cut them both off and expect to never speak to them again.
Several people have guilted me for doing this, saying my parents don't deserve to be abandoned by their own child, but it doesn't really phase me currently.
AITA for cutting them off? Do they deserve another chance to start a bond with their son after 26 years of ignoring him?
