42 [M4F] FWB.....Dating Isn't Your Jam but want a man's sexual attention.
2023.05.28 17:23 VinnyFromTheBlock1 42 [M4F] FWB.....Dating Isn't Your Jam but want a man's sexual attention.
Totally understand you live a very busy life with work and/or family. You have a very successful career and you don't have time to date. You've done the dating thing and it's just not for you. The typical conversations and exchanged pleasantries. You're looking for something different, maybe someone to do stuff. Like a last minute flick your gf's don't care to see...or check out a new restaurant that you've heard had splashing reviews. However, at the end of the day you have urges and needs. You crave a man's touch and how he explores your body. You want someone you have familiarity where you feel comfortable. Comfortable enough to sexually express yourself and show your animalistic side. Why can't you have your cake and eat it? You want the sexual connection but you want your freedom too.
If you're curious or have a busy life let's talk. This could be a conducive friendship. I'm 42, very chill and laid back. Tall, attractive, with a sporty build. Have a great sense of humor and can carry a witty conversation.

2023.05.28 15:45 MrsDarcy1200 Am I bad at my job?
I graduated in 2022 with my bachelor's and started working in the finance department of a small solar company. Most of my job is just categorizing transactions in quickbooks and creating bills in bill.com. I started as an intern working 20 hours/week in 2022 and this year I started working 30 hours/week. I will have been at the company for 1 year in June.
Our manager just got a monthy bonus approved for our team if we meet certain criteria each month. We each have our own criteria to meet to earn our own bonus. The bonus is an additional $375/month for the rest of this year, so $3,000 total that I could potentially earn. One of my criteria is to make less than 5-10 mistakes a month.
This feels completely unattainable to me. On a slow day, I might have 25 transactions in Quickbooks and 5 bills in bill.com. Let's say it's been a slow month and I've only done 500 QB transactions and 100 bills. So of the 600 total "events" from that month, I need to make less than 10 errors, an error rate of about 1.67%. And by the end of this year I'm expected to get my errors down to 5/month, making the error rate down to 0.83%. Keep in mind the company is growing so the average number of transactions will be increasing over time as well.
An example of an error might be that the customer name is incorrect on a bill I entered, or I entered the wrong category for a credit card purchase.
The finance director and my manager have really been drilling into me that I need to sharpen my attention to detail, and I have been trying very hard to make less mistakes. I have multiple lists of checks that I go through to try to prevent a incorrect entry, and I go through my QB transactions twice a month and my bill.com entries at least once a week to try and catch errors before we get to the month end review.
I am still making 30-40 errors a month.
About half of these mistakes are flat out wrong things that I entered and didn't catch. The other half are mistakes that I wouldn't know to catch due to my lack of experience, or the director decides she wants things done a little differently and it takes me a bit of time to get used to a new process. Like I said, the company is growing so every month there are little tweaks that are made and I find it difficult to keep up with everything.
I don't know if I should request to get this 5-10 mistake criteria changed because it's unattainable, or if I'm just a bad accountant and should take this as a sign that I'm not cut out for this.
Does it seem like I'm bad at my job or that this is a very hard standard to reach?

2023.05.28 10:23 LondonAnaesth Hiding Errors Efficiently - report into 2021 recruitment mishaps withheld by HEE
Recruitment into anaesthetics in Autumn 2021 was marred by a series of errors, euphemistically described as ‘significant incidents’. Candidates were given the wrong scores. Incorrect emails were sent out, and offers were made and then immediately withdrawn. There were concerns raised about the communications style used with “potentially distressed candidates”.
An urgent enquiry was convened to find out what went wrong, and what lessons could be learned. The target date for its completion was 26th November 2021. This enquiry, which was chaired by Professor Russell Smith, was given access to all the relevant documents and information, and the enquiry panel was made up of representatives from HEE, the Royal College of Anaesthetists, and trainees.
But that report has not yet seen the light of day. And our Freedom of Information (FoI) request for a copy of the report has just been rejected. The reason given for this rejection is that NHS England are planning to “publish the report when all normal channels for review have been completed and the contents of the document agreed and approved ….. it will be published in its final form in due course”
What’s going on?
Given that it’s over two years since the enquiry was set up then this delay in publishing their report is completely unacceptable. We have appealed against the refusal of the FoI request, on two grounds - irrationality and public interest.
‘Irrationality’ is a phrase lawyers use instead of the more plain “nonsense!” This enquiry was intended to run quickly and to complete its report within a month. Certainly before the next round of recruitment was to take place. So is it credible that nearly two years later it is still awaiting approval? Irrationally is more correctly defined as a reason “...
so outrageous in its defiance of logic or of accepted moral standards that no sensible person … could have arrived at it.”
The second ground is Public Interest. Have the recommendations of the report been put into action? Has the handling of data on spreadsheets been improved? The available evidence suggests the opposite. This year HEE were forced to issue
yet another apology - after they invited the wrong candidates to interviews. Once again, they say they are trying to “
identify the reasons for this mistake at an organisational level and to take any further steps necessary to deliver as fair and robust a recruitment process as possible”. At least they didn’t ask us to ‘bear with them’.
We teach doctors to be open and honest when they make mistakes. And we expect the organisations responsible for their education to act in a similar manner. They need to demonstrate that they have taken actions to correct any performance deficits identified. This report, set up to ensure organisational learning, needs to see the light of day, and we need the reassurance that it has been “actioned”.
Watch this space.

2023.05.28 09:37 Noghbuddy The Spirit of...
I ran into a bit of writer's block writing the next part of Secret Chord. It wasn't helped by this weird anthology rattling around in my head. So, I decided to write it down to get it out of the way. I hope you enjoy it, or even take it as a series of possible writing prompts. I only had more ideas about the bootlegger of the story, so we'll just say everyone else is up to interpretation and imagination. Let me know what you think.
And yes, I do have a strong fascination with music. Why do you ask?
---------
Radio is a beautiful thing to Jack Rushing. The ability to reach the common man wherever he may be and bring to him the comfort and pleasure of music, the up-to-date latest news of the wider galaxy, or the simple human connection of Jack’s interludes. Now it wasn’t radio exactly, but the semantics were unimportant. What was important was broadcasting out to the galaxy at large wherever humans may be. To bring together those lonely souls adrift in the wider-
A crash brought Jack out of his reverie. His short fik assistant dropped a box after tripping over a wire. “Careful with those! We haven’t saved those yet!”
“Yes, yes! Sorry.”
Pinching the bridge of his nose Jack replied, “It’s fine. You’re doing fine, Kos. Just watch where you’re going. Now bring those here, we’re about to go live.”
Kos recovered the spilled cardboard sleeves and deposited the box on the small table beside Jack. He stood and thumbed through the selection. This box alone could buy a new cargo hauler, and the cramped studio held crates of these black-market treasures. Kindly donated by a mysterious benefactor.
He drew out a couple records and a tape then handed them to Kos. “Alright we’re gonna start with ‘Sixteen Tons” he said pointing to each song number, “Then ‘Pride and Joy’, ‘Midnight Rider’, ‘East Bound and Down’ and we’ll end with…” He dug around and exclaimed, “Ooh, this.” He handed the vinyl to the fik trying to juggle everything who shuffled into the next room. Jack could see through the glass as Kos began to set everything up, while he put on his headphones and adjusted the mic. The per-recorded program from the night cycle was ending.
With a thumbs up from Kos, Jack punched a few buttons on his console before the vintage “On Air” light blinked to life.
“Good morning, O’ wayward souls, I’m Jack Rushing back again with another slew of songs once thought lost to time. Our generous benefactor, Mr. Suit-and-Tie, continues to comb the seedy underbelly of the galaxy at large to bring you nothin but the best. Meanwhile, me and Kos, my stalwart companion, are broadcasting live from beautiful downtown Nondescript. This is the Spirit of Radio bringing you ‘Sixteen Tons’ by Tennessee Ernie Ford.” Jack pointed through the glass to signal Kos to start before muting the mic.

Cooking was an art as much as a skill. Bo had cooking in his blood. History was repeating itself, as Bo’s ancestors worked as a ship’s cook to gain passage across the Atlantic, so too did Bo book passage across the sea of stars by working as the ship’s chef.
Some people say a man is made out of mud, A poor man’s made out of muscle and blood…
Bo adjusted the volume on his pad so he could hear it as he worked. He was finishing up cleaning after the ship’s dinner and moved on to his special project. He promised Mephla a specially made dinner for two. The felinoid had taken an interest in his cooking. She enjoyed watching him cook as much as eating what he made. He knew she’d arrive any minute, so he set out on some prep work.
Finding ingredients was a novel challenge, but not impossible. A passable replacement was possible with just about anything, but it took Bo the better part of a year and half seeking them out. Salt was salt, thank God, but others he had to be a bit more creative. It seemed the galaxy preferred lard to butter. Probably due to the ursdains or the mostly carnivorous population, but he could work with it. He was most proud of his most recent discovery of a little root-bulb that mimicked garlic damn near perfectly. He’d been jonesing for garlic-bread for years now, and now he could finally scratch that itch.
He began setting up his mies en place and pre-heating his oven and prized possession. Well, one of them anyway. His father always said all he needed in the kitchen was a chef’s knife and a cast-iron skillet. Turns out he was right. Those two have taken Bo from one side of the galaxy to the other. The damn electric stove-tops still irked him, but he could manage.
Just as he was finishing up breaking down the…bird of some description, The calico felinoid entered and leaned against the doorway. She didn’t say anything, just watched with a self-satisfied smile. Or maybe that was just how her face always looked. God, he loved that face.
Bo was particularly proud of the little mound of pasta he’d created. It was too labor intensive to serve the crew at large, but he’d made a little batch just for tonight. Maybe one day he’d be the one to introduce dried pasta to the galaxy, but for tonight it was a special treat for a special woman.
*****
Curiosity is what drew Mephla to the diminutive human. She saw him duck into the kitchens of the ship one day and had to know what he could possibly know about food. Peeking in reviled a pleasant scene of a craftsman in his element. The way he felt or smelled each ingredient before staring off into space or closing his eyes. He once told her he could picture how a dish would taste just from the smells of the ingredients. Of course, this didn’t stop him from sneaking tastes of each step while he worked.
Yeah I love my lady, She’s long and lean, You mess with her, You’ll see a man get mean.
She loved to watch him work; from cutting and slicing veggies, herbs, and meat to how he juggled different pots and pans to combine, split up, then recombine the food in some ritual of flavor. One of his favorite phrases was “Don’t waste flavor.” Whatever that meant, it worked. He busied himself with roasting what he called “the star of the dish” while simultaneously preparing the “landing spot” of the plate.
He began slicing the fowl and placing it over some sauce covered…something. She’d eaten enough of his food to trust him. Humans (at least this one) enjoyed meaty, fatty flavors. This suited Mephla just fine.
“Oh. Almost forgot. How could I forget?” He turned and retrieved some buttered-bread concoction and placed two on each plate. It smelled divine. She entered his temple and stood behind him, holding him tight from behind.
Nuzzling the top of his head she said, “You keep cooking like this I’ll end up as big as an ursdain.”
She’s my sweet little thang, I’m her little lover boy.

Freedom was a dangerous business. Bill Elliott stared at the representation of the guard cutter currently scanning and searching every ship passing through this jump point. Not normally a problem. Not unless you happen to be haulin’ a couple tons of human contraband bound for less-than-legal ports. The next system over had the hyperspace lane entrance that’d set Bill home-free.
But I’m not gon’ let ‘em catch me, no I’m not gon’ let ‘em catch the Midnight Rider.
“I’m tryin’ buddy. I really am.” He grumbled at his radio. He adjusted the number nine cap on his head then climbed out of his seat. His rig was a supped-up cheap cargo hauler. It’d fit in just about anywhere in the galaxy, but it was packing a drive big enough to rival…well a guard cutter.
He clambered to the cargo hold to take another count of what he had. Most of the crates and pallets were labeled in code. It’d be just about the worst code one could come up with for fooling humans, but luckily the Galactic Community didn’t seem to recognize names like Marlboro or Jack Daniels. Bill’s world as a bootlegger was made of these not-so-subtle code names, including his own name.
Finishing taking stock, including the smaller cases labeled “Colt” under the floor panels, he checked on the hulking drive core awkwardly crammed in the engine bay and bleeding out into the cargo and extra crew bays. With no epiphany found Bill walked back to the cockpit and fell back in his seat.
His options were limited. He could turn around and make a few extra jumps and extend his delivery by who knows how long. Which would also be suspicious as all Hell trying to avoid a GC cutter. Or he could gamble and pass through the checkpoint, hoping beyond hope they don’t decide to pick his ship apart bolt by bolt.
East bound and down, loaded up and truckin’, We’re gonna do what they say can’t be done.
Bill chuckled, “Yeah. Let’s watch this ol’ Bandit run.” He waited for the last ship in line to jump out of system before warming up his drive. This is what the burner tags were for after all. He got the green light then put the hammer down.

Enterprise is the lifeblood of any organization or business. Rohan Singh thought of himself as quite the enterprising human. As humanity was cast to the four winds, Rohan wept for the lost spirit and culture, and would do anything and everything he could to seize back control of humanity’s spirit.
Rohan eased back in his chair, propping his feet up on his desk. He pulled a cigar out of his coat pocket and lit it. The Galactic Community was no stranger to financial wheeling and dealing, however the human had a couple perks to leverage. First was a fresh perspective. A stagnate market was one just begging for any flashy new enterprise. Which led to the second: adaptability. So rote was supply and demand that any upset could cripple an unsuspecting business. And upset he did. With an army of felinoid lawyers and ssypno investors Rohan quickly build company after company within shell company after shell company.
It started simply with human-made chachkies and knick-knacks sold for inflated prices, but quickly built capital for larger ventures in ship flipping and Rohan’s favorite: casinos. There is no better cash cow than the scientifically perfected art of mass gambling. With a large influx of cash, he had the freedom to invest in…less reputable opportunities. Tobacco, alcohol, and guns sold the galaxy over. Keeping his plantations and stills secret was an ever-present challenge, but one that paid dividends. Guns on the other hand were a harder business to stay in. Oh sure, human “slug throwers” were quickly becoming popular. The demand was there, but Rohan couldn’t keep a steady supply. It seems most of the humans with the know-how simply went into business for themselves. Rohan could respect that, but he’d need one with loose scruples on the payroll. Then was the matter of drugs. How did human drugs react to alien physiology? That could open a whole new-
This next song goes out to Mr. Suit-and-Tie.
Money Money Money Money… Money!
Rohan grinned. Sure, his wealth was reward enough, but there was still his goal of humanity’s spirit. He rose and was about to key his intercom when it buzzed to life.
“Sir, the Spirit of Fortune is pulling in, and Mr. Liberty is here to see you.”
He keyed, “Send him in.” He stood then went to face the window behind his desk. It showed a view of the cyan gas giant the small station orbited. As if on cue the Spirit of Fortune began to slide into view. The massive casino ship was the first of what Rohan hoped would be a fleet. It was a cruise ship on steroids. He could imagine a Las Vegas of various ships drifting from sector to sector generating unimaginable wealth. And of course, cleaning up some of his less-than-sterling cash-flow.
He turned back to watch the approaching man pass the mirrored water features lining Rohan’s opulent office. Mr. Liberty wore a fitted suit and smart glasses and handed Rohan a pad.
“Sir, we’ve found another ring. This one operating at the edge of ssypno space.”
Taking and reviewing the pad Rohan answered, “Perfect! Do we know their source?”
“Not yet, sir.”
“I see. That’s alright. Buy whoever you can and once you have an account of everyone tip off the GC through the usual channels. I’ll put a personal bonus on every human you and your people liberate.” He handed the pad back.
“Of course, sir.”
“Good. Get going. No time to waste.” With a nod, Mr. Liberty strode back out through the front doors.
Rohan turned to observe the Spirit of Fortune once again before crushing out his cigar and keying the intercom, “Hold all my calls and meetings. I’ll be in the vault.”
“Yes, sir”
He walked to the side of his office where a hidden door was. Opening the side panel, he placed his eye up to the retinal scanner and pressed his thumb to the DNA analysis needle. With a silent hiss the door slid open, and he descended the stairs to the heavily armored room. Inside was a vast collection of human paraphernalia.
Paintings, sculptures, and general artifacts lined the walls and adorned pedestals. This quite possibly was the largest collection of human relics. Stolen and sold on the black market, Rohan made it his mission to ensure every piece of humanity’s spirit, its soul, was once again in human hands.
He slowly walked the aisles until stopping at a small sculpture of the Buddha.
“Greed is bad, eh? If that were true, you’d still be a ssypno trophy.” He slowly gazed around at his collection. He could picture the museum of humanity and its accomplishments. A vast temple that the dispersed humans could visit, and remember who they were. Know their true nature and heart. The preservation of its soul. “I’m not proud…” he spoke to the Buddha, “But it must be done.”

2023.05.28 09:24 userwiths To which game is Dishonored 2 closer, Dishonored 1 or DOTO ?
I've been thinking for a long time if I should buy Dishonored 2. Did a few play playthrough of 1 and was in love with it. After that managed to get Death of the Outsider, and had quite the opposite experience.
I feel level design was my main issue, because no matter how big the map/area is it felt much more restricted in the sense of different approaches to the objectives compared to 1. The clearest example I can come up with is the "House of Pleasure" in the first game, so much ways to go about it. Can't remember any mission in DOTO that has given me this feeling of freedom.
Already tried reading/watching reviews, sadly it looks like the only two ways to find out for myself is to either play it or watch a full playthrough.
So, id like to here opinions on whether Dishonored 2 is closer to 1 in regards to level design or rather closer to DOTO.

2023.05.28 08:19 FrankieCheech001 COLLEGE STUDENTS BEWARE OF CARDINAL GROUP, GREYSTAR, & KEYSTONE HOUSING SCAMS!
TO ALL STUDENTS: Avoid renting an apartment from TREMONT, THE BRYN, or THE POINTE in State College, or any property managed or owned by CARDINAL GROUP COMPANIES or GREYSTAR, or KEYSTONE PROPERTIES in all states! These are
predatory businesses, that target college students. Although
GREYSTAR reflects a "warning" on their website to avoid any association with properties that prohibit potential Tenants from viewing their apartment before Leasing, that is exactly what
GREYSTAR employees do!
THE BRYN at 601 VAIRO BLVD in State College, Pennsylvania is a "slum property", and so is THE POINTE at 501 S. VAIRO. They forbid potential Tenants from viewing apts before paying them multiple months of rent in advance, and signing a Lease. They only allow the view of a "Model", which is nothing like the actual apartments that look like "crack-houses". They scam people by making false representations about the
true conditions of the apartments. Their Marketing Manager is
WENDY DONOVAN. She lies to potential Tenants about everything. She has also stated that they will not, under any circumstance, allow potential renters to see their apartment before they actually take possession of it, even if the apt is vacant.
THE POINTE'S Regional Manager is
ZACH LOVETT. He carries out the same RACKETEERING SCAM that
CARDINAL GROUP does at
THE BRYN and
TREMONT, both on VAIRO.
These properties will lie to potential Tenants and say there is only 2 apts left and they need to put a deposit/sign a lease fast to ensure they have an apt. They'll ask for approximately 3 months rent, or multiple months, in far advance. In the Illinois case, the VICTIMS discovered that they'd paid for an apartment that did not exist, on the day the Victim Tenant moved-in. The apt was uninhabitable! There was
Black Mold throughout, filthy, black carpets, although the Marketing Manager,
KATIE LIBERMAN LOVETT said that the apt and ALL apts are "deep steam cleaned". She and other staff make false claims about doing extensive cleaning to avoid
COVID-19 exposure, especially if a previous Tenant vacated in a short period of time before the new Tenant(s) moved in. This is also false! These misstatements and misrepresentations are all part of their
scheme to defraud. THE POINTE does the very same thing. Although they are owned and managed by different companies,
ZACH LOVETT, THE POINTE'S Regional Mgr. and
KATIE LIBERMAN LOVETT, CARDINAL GROUP'S former Marketing Mgr at
THE BRYN and current employee of
CARDINAL GROUP, are married, and carried out the same
scheme to defraud. These predatory businesses will take their time to repaireplace old, non-working appliances.
THE BRYN had ALL non-working appliances at the time the Plaintiff in the Illinois lawsuit moved in, although they claimed that they had ALL
updated and up-to-date appliances. Their webpage reflects that as well, but the appliances were 25-27 years old and NOT working.
CARDINAL GROUP staff will then tell Tenants, "Too bad! You signed a Lease! Pay us or we'll send you to collections!" They will also delete Tenants MAINTENANCE WORK ORDERS so that there is not a "paper trail" and no evidence, in their efforts to further their scheme to defraud.
THE BRYN, along with it's
Owner, HAIM SABAN, CARDINAL GROUP COMPANIES, CARDINAL GROUP MANAGEMENT, and the
CEO, ALEX O'BRIEN, KATIE LIBERMAN LOVETT, and
VALERIE HERRERA are being sued in the state of Illinois, Federal Court Northern District of Illinois, Case# 1:21_CV- 4324.
HERRERA is a
CARDINAL GROUP MGMT. employee and worked/works at
THE BRYN. If you're a Penn State student, or you know of any student who has been been defrauded / scammed by these people / predatory businesses, contact PSU's Student Legal Services.
Do not contact LAURA ROBBINS, Attorney in State College. She has claimed that she "handled" legal disputes on behalf of
THE BRYN. She's also a liar.
Beware of Attorneys that don't "sound right". It is also important that those who have been scammed by these people, file an online Complaint with the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office. It takes about 7 minutes to complete! \**CARDINAL GROUP COMPANIES, ALEX O'BRIEN, and CARDINAL GROUP MANAGEMENT ARE ALSO BEING SUED IN DENVER, COLORADO for the same Racketeering Scheme, Scheme to Defraud! They are involved in another Class Action Lawsuit filed by*
Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro LLP in Seattle, Washington. \**BEWARE OF ANY PROPERTY OWNED/OPERATED BY CARDINAL GROUP, OR GREYSTAR (HAS SIMILAR LAWSUITS AGAINST THEM).*
Last, do your research. There are not many Student Housing properties Off-Campus, that have not been recently sued in the past, or have pending lawsuits against them by the Pennsylvania Attorney General, for defrauding and scamming college students!!! A quick "google search" or accessing their website, go in the upper-left-hand corner, enter "State College" in the Search bar. There, you can see some current cases. You can contact them directly as well. That online Complaint is important! They can't do anything unless they know about it.
****Most important: Know your state's eavesdropping/tape-recording laws! If you do business with these slumlords & fraudsters, make sure you tape-record every communication with them. Courts and Jurys love tape-recorded evidence; it's indisputable! Here's an article about the Denver, Colorado Class Action Lawsuit against CARDINAL GROUP COMPANIES & MANAGEMENT:
https://coloradosun.com/2021/10/29/cardinal-group-management-lawsuit/ There's also posts on Reddit.
There are also fake positive Reviews for these slum-properties on Google and Yelp, by staff members. \***REMEMBER: SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING!! And contact an Attorney if you've been scammed by them OR if you've rented from CARDINAL GROUP or GREYSTAR at any time after 2010: Fill out this form for updates on the Class Action Lawsuit in connection with "RealPage". 2023.05.28 08:10 DirtyDeath69 Towers of Midnight review
Wheel of time book 13 - Towers of Midnight (Or, A Memory of Light part 2/3)
Courage to strengthen Fire to blind Music to dazzle Iron to bind
Spoiler free section-
I expected alot from this book because of things it implied. But, damn it felt like the biggest betrayal a wot book has given me. It's not the worst book by any means. It's just the book that dissapointed me the most, because I had huge expectations. I love many parts of it, but that ending I waited for 3 books was given way too abruptly. Also that boring start to the Perrin storyline was too annoying to sit through. I could forgive that structure because Sanderson was dividing 1 book to 3. But god damn, did it have to be that frustrating?
7.5/10
Spoiler filled section -
"In that day, when the One-Eyed Fool travels the halls of mourning, and the First Among Vermin lifts his hand to bring freedom to Him who will Destroy, the last days of the Fallen Blacksmith’s pride shall come. Yea, and the Broken Wolf, the one whom Death has known, shall fall and be consumed by the Midnight Towers. And his destruction shall bring fear and sorrow to the hearts of men, and shall shake their very will itself."
I honestly didn't want to write this review. I'm already in 23rd chapter of the last book. I couldn't wait at all. Anyway, here's something I could spare.
Lan I liked the 2 became 5, 5 became 12 and 12 became 1000s chapters. But it'll be an understatement to say I was highly disappointed in the "golden crane flies to tarmon gaidon" moment. I thought it'd be something big. But I guess being realistic has its problems.
Rand I absolutely loved every part he was in. I wanted more of him. But it was probably good that he wasn't much in this book. The way he literally walked to the hall of servants with 26 Aes Sedai shielding him was cool af. I really disliked how he put forth the breaking seals argument. But now I get why he did that.
That moment he walks to Tam and hugs him, then cries, is probably my favourite scene from the book. Made me tear up a little ngl. Him starting to fix things was really a great role to have in this book. And that shadow will not have Maradon moment was freaking amazing.
His conversation with Nynaeve was such a great moment. It felt like her character reached her end point after this and her Aes Sedai raising to shawl. God I love her so much.
Egwene Man, how could one book make me love a character so much then the next book she becomes annoying? Egwene is just that. This book ruined a lot of her character. I said it in my previous review that she's becoming a bit like Elaida and it's clearly shown here. The power has corrupted her mind ngl.
I mean I could understand not allowing Rand to break the seals, he needed to give more explanation. But, tying Perrin up in the middle of a Saidar battle? Is she even human? What if Perrin didn't know how to control wolf dream? That part made me dislike her alot.
I love how Perrin just vanishes Balefire and Egwene is stunned. "It's just a weave" She finally uses this technique to get a forsaken in her defeat list.
Perrin I loved many parts of it ngl. But as Mike's book reviews said, it was something he should have done in like Lord of Chaos or something.
The trial was fine, but the things leading upto the trial was abomination. Like dude we've been spoiled about the meeting with Galad in previous book. Why stall it so much? After the trial tho it gets better.
I freaking love Telaranrhiod fights. They're a treat to read. Such a fun way to battle.
The weapon making scene was gorgeous. I didn't realise till I read someone mentioning how the hammer was like Mjonir that I realised the name Mahelenier or something was a reference. Now I call it Mjolnir in my mind.
Slayer needed to be defeated in this book man. We already have way too much to do in the last book. I don't even like the villain except for the mystery of how 2 people could be 1.
I already talked about how Egwene was insufferable when she tied up Perrin. I freaking loved it when he put her on her place by saying "it's just a weave". Superior dominance.
Mat I started to see the changes in Mat in this book. Sanderson really didn't fully get his character. It felt weird reading him most of the time. I was mostly anticipating him in big role in this book but damn if this book wasn't a disappointment.
Of course he has to talk with Elayne and have most of the book being in Camelyn doing nothing. Elayne was better in this book. Tho that Perrin execution part had me rolling my eyes.
The reunion of Mat and Perrin was underwhelming tbh. Also I'll spoil that other taveren reunions are just as underwhelming.
Then we arrive at the snakes and foxes tower. It was good to read mostly but was over too quickly. The ashandarei escape was a nice one. I always wondered why would they give him that when he didn't ask. Idk, something just didn't click with me in this part. I wished it to be longer and explore the world more.
Aviendha Actually forget about any favourite moments I said before. The rhuidean moments never fail to leave my jaws hanging. God damn that was some heart wrenching scene. Showed how the Seanchan are the only compelling villains in the whole series.

2023.05.28 07:04 Fictionarious Quick overview of the ProRights position (and of its compatibility with Reddit's content policy)
Today (well, a few days ago, anyway) marks the
second time that polite explanation/defense of the ProRights position on reproductive rights (abortion necessarily included, of course) has been maliciously reported by "pro-choice" users and subsequently censored by mods over on
abortiondebate (this time with the assistance of some Reddit admin or another, evidently not doing their due diligence in reviewing the position, any statement I have ever made pertaining to it, and/or Reddit's own policies). In honor of this occasion, it may be warranted to provide a brief restatement of the position, review its general compatibility with Reddit terms of service, and observe its obvious relevance to the aforementioned debate in any (unbiased or free) public forum.
What are the motivations for and intended consequences of the ProRights position?
As ProRights advocates, we believe that
nobody should be forced to become/remain a parent to any child (in any capacity) against their present will. They should not be forced into parenthood by the government. They should not be forced into parenthood by their partner. They should not be forced into parenthood by some act of conspiracy between the two. Likewise and therefore, there is no basis for forcing them to undergo or remain in any of the biological processes that typically or necessarily precede parenthood (coitus, impregnation, gestation, or delivery). The compulsion of the initiation or of the perpetuation of any of these conditions/events, either by force or by fraud, is categorically a
moral wrong, and the best-of-all-possible-societies are those that adopt reasonable and effective policies specifically to discourage and prevent the occurrence of these varieties of reproductive coercion.
The morally-incidental fact that humans are a viviparous species presents a notable (but not remotely insurmountable) practical challenge to this effort. As a technologically advanced civilization, we have the ability to provide both of the following improvements to justice "according to (or under) nature":
- Medicine (drugs and/or surgery) to allow the pregnancy-capable partner to safely and humanely abort/end the life of their child at any point in its gestational development, or, if ultimately justified, to allow either partner to safely/humanely end that life sometime shortly after its delivery.
- Cheap and effective tests to verify the claimed or assumed paternity of the pregnancy-incapable partner.
The moral impetus for
both of these provisions is, in fact, identical: enfranchising people with maximally symmetric rights under the law. Pregnancy-incapable partners have the effective right not to undergo or remain in a state of pregnancy, by virtue of being incapable of it. Pregnancy-capable partners should, therefore, be granted this same right as soon as is feasible. Pregnancy-capable people have the effective right to be totally confident that their forthcoming children are
really theirs, in every case, by virtue of being susceptible to it. If they have also been granted the right to abort said pregnancy, they also have a postcoital right to end their forthcoming parenthood status/role in real terms, in tandem with that. Pregnancy-incapable people should, therefore, be granted these same rights as soon as is feasible.
As a morally advanced society striving to establish a reasonable combination of freedom and justice in a Rawlsian sense (or, justice "
over nature"), we have the obligation to provide
both of these improvements, to members of both biological sexes where appropriate.
The first of these improvements, of course, runs afoul of the common notion that fetuses and/or neonates should be considered legal persons with their own intrinsic right-to-life. The ProRights position explicitly rejects and refutes this misapprehension, on the basis that neither of these undeniably human entities possess (or have ever possessed) an
identified sense of self, of the sort that would allow them to function as a member of any society on even a basic level (use language, form autobiographical memories, self-regulate one's behavior in relation to others, etc).
That is, we recognize that legal rights (including the right-to-life) are a
social construct formed via some hypothetically-collaborative estimation of justice, and propose that these rights be formulated with the express purpose of benefiting/protecting present-and-former members of society proper (ie, not exclusively-prospective ones).
We therefore propose that, in practice, it is
most reasonable (practical) to ascribe general right-to-life as beginning with the second month of life after birth, to all those fetuses/neonates which have likely reached a level of "situational" self-awareness that necessarily precedes (by a year or more) the emergence of any identified self.
Does ProRights advocacy violate Reddit content policy?
Reddit is a place for creating community and belonging, not for attacking marginalized or vulnerable groups of people. Everyone has a right to use Reddit free of harassment, bullying, and threats of violence. Communities and users that incite violence or that promote hate based on identity or vulnerability will be banned.
It warrants our explicit consideration:
does formally arguing against the general right-to-life of zygotes, embryos, fetuses, or neonates younger than 28 days, constitute an attack on a marginalized or vulnerable group of people? Does it constitute harassment? Is it a threat of violence?
Perhaps we should click on the link elaborating on this matter:
Marginalized or vulnerable groups include, but are not limited to, groups based on their actual and perceived race, color, religion, national origin, ethnicity, immigration status, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, pregnancy, or disability. These include victims of a major violent event and their families.
For each of the examples of marginalized or vulnerable groups cited, the group is distinguished by the configuration of some obviously morally-superficial characteristic. Is sense-of-self such a morally-superficial characteristic? Since this list is not exhaustive, it is hard to state with
complete certainty that fetuses and neonates younger than 28 days old are not on it. What we can state, with categorically greater certainty, is that both of these (fetuses and neonates) would reasonably be on this list (or not on it)
together.
This is because a conceptus only becomes
less vulnerable with the passage of time (it is most vulnerable immediately after it begins to exist,
according to the statistics) and both are equivalently helpless/vulnerable from the practical perspective of an adult human being, or even a six-year-old child.
Which of these two groups is most popularly marginalized? Given that the most commonly-occurring debate involves the contested personhood/right-to-life of the fetus (with the right-to-life of neonates being near-universally assumed) the fetus is the human entity subject to the most explicit marginalization (or, dehumanization, in the moral sense of the term humanity).
So, if we are being at all reasonable in our estimation of whether neonates younger than 28 days old qualify as a marginalized or vulnerable group of people, we might look to see whether or not unborn fetuses so qualify (as either marginalized, vulnerable, or people, strictly speaking). The continued existence of both
prochoice and of
abortiondebate provides a rather clear and unambiguous statement that it is within the scope of the Reddit content policy to discuss and even "promote" the deliberate killing of fetuses, by whatever justification. In light of the aforementioned fact that fetuses have a monotonically-decreasing level of both vulnerability and popular marginalization, we can conclude, by elimination of factors, that an honest questioning (and answering) of whether neonates are people in the first place (of the kind that should be regarded as possessing an intrinsic legal right-to-life, and on the basis of the presence/absence of
morally-substantive criterion commonly cited by moral philosophers, such as sentience, sense-of-self, consciousness, viability, etc.) is also within the scope of the Reddit content policy.
If a serious philosophical defense of filicide/infanticide is good enough for Peter Singer and Mary Anne Warren, then it is good enough for the rest of us.
Is ProRights advocacy obviously relevant to the debate surrounding abortion, specifically?
Yes, although we can state this a
bit more strongly. The ProRights stance represents a kind of
Hegelian synthesis of the extant stances/arguments on the
ideal reproductive rights of self-identified and self-directed sexually mature human beings (the pro-choice and pro-life stances, respectively). We acknowledge that children younger than 28 days old do not exhibit any of the requisite features/capacities of personhood that would merit any associated right-to-life, and that it is impossible for them to be considered a member of society in any honest or simple descriptive sense. Subsequently, we recognize the prior moral imperative to equalize the naturally-unequal distributions of burdens and boons associated with pregnancy-capability (
all of them), via a rising tide that lifts all boats.
As its founder (myself) has discussed
elsewhere, the
generating impetus for the debate surrounding abortion is fetal personhood. If there were no pro-lifers (that is, nobody that believed fetuses were people deserving of the right to life), there would be no more debate. The debate itself lives or dies on the
fundamental contested question of when it is most reasonable to infer that this personhood and associated right-to-life emerges, exactly.
Some assert that it should emerge at conception.
Some assert that it should emerge at birth.
ProRights advocates assert that personhood emerges continuously but in recognizable stages over the course of months and years of early childhood development and socialization. We put forward the conservative stance that the "right-to-life line" should be drawn approximately one month (28 days) after birth, as a extremely cautious lower boundary and gross
under-estimate of the actual time required to develop any appreciable identified self, and so as to facilitate the provision of equal reproductive rights (veto power) to the biological mother
and biological father, either of which may express dissent to the outcome of remaining a parent to some extant child (for any reason, and in whatever sense).
It is simply the provision of a different (wildly ahead-of-its-time, apparently) answer to the
same essential question.

2023.05.28 06:43 TrinitySucks Deactivated Due To Background
I got in a back and fourth cussing match via text messaging with my father over a Will he decided not to probate for obvious reasons. When I told him I was just going to pay to probate the will myself and blocked him he reported me for harassment in Tinity County Texas even though I was 1000 miles away in Denver at the time cuz he knew the podunk small town law would listen to him. I didn't know I had a warrant out for my arrest till some cops ran my ID when they were checking on me for sleeping in a Walmart Parking lot and I got picked up on the warrant. They offered me time served and no fines or court fees if I plead guilty so I was like sure whatever. Then a few weeks later I get deactivated. The charge was a Class B Misdemeanor Harassment cuz we were using very educated speech in our argument but it's obnoxious cuz he was the one keeping it going till I blocked him and he got pissed off. Lol.
Anyways, anyone ever get reactivated after a deactivation due to a background check? Even if not I will just keep disputing it in the hopes I get someone who reviews and and sees I been dashing for years, hundreds of dashes a week with very minimal customer problems, always fraud when when I did get a contract violation. Always top Dasher with a 5 star rating at the time of deactivation. Its not the end of the world. I am figuring out Instacart and they didn't deactivate me, I am just getting super sick of grocery shopping. It's just lame AF DoorDash is like this and deactivated me over my father being a whiny little B cuz he didnt want to honor his grandmother's will. He used a tiny small town police force that is such a joke they made a reality TV show out of their antics when I was 1000 miles away when this happened. I just pleas guilty cuz their is no winikg in Trinty County and i would have ended up with the charge and a bunch of fines regardless. I am ALWAYS a super professional Dasher who never gives customers a problem even when they being psycho. I am SOOO sick of shopping for groceries even though it pays waaay better per mile.

*attempt 3 - it's a total overhaul of what I had before
Dear [editor],
THE MOURNING STAR is a fantasy novel complete at 92,000 words, that will appeal to lovers of “Only a Monster” by Vanessa Len and … I am the author of two published flash fiction pieces in the Scapegoat Review and BarBar Literary Magazine. I am seeking representation from you as ________
Nero is proud, human, and without a single memory of who he is or why he woke up in Hell as a slave to the Master of Insanity. In order to gain freedom, he’ll have to do the unthinkable—absorb other souls. Though remaining a slave in a world rife with power-hungry demons isn’t just worse, it’s dangerous. Besides, after his first absorption, he realizes something about himself. He likes the taste of power.
When the Sin of Pride, Lady Eve’s, ball is interrupted by flesh-eating shadows, Nero sees an opportunity to elevate his lowly standing. He agrees to help her find who did, venturing across the realm of the seven Sins. With a porcelain beauty that cracks along the edges, Nero is drawn to Eve. She reminds him of a part of himself he wants to forget. A human part. Things go awry during the journey, though, and Nero is sold to the greater demoness of Lust, whose savage beauty is a weapon. Amid losing what little pieces of his identity he has to torture, Nero discovers a plot to overthrow Eve and the axis of Pride. Believing power can save him from ever being taken advantage of again, Nero escapes and uses the information against Eve. They set out on a journey once again to save the axis of Pride, but this time Nero can’t resist Eve’s pull. Rather than fight the vulnerability, Nero embraces it, and realizes that he’s been fighting for something more for a while. Something others would destroy if they saw it. Something sacred, like love.

2023.05.28 01:33 heloap I bet there is a HIPPA class action suit here against the VA…if a lawyer would take it…
We all here have recently been or will subjected to various Compensation and Pension Exams. I personally in the last few years have noticed a very troubling precedent the VA has set for veterans with claims utilizing contractor and independent third party health care professionals to complete these exams.
As you may or may not know the VA has VBA and VHA departments, VBA is benefits admin and not subject to HIPPA, VHA is healthcare and subject to HIPPA. Prior to the VBA moving to 100% outside contractor provided C&P exams, Veterans would have a C&P exam, requested by VBA, to be completed by VHA. Since VHA is covered by HIPPA, the veteran has the right under HIPPA to obtain the record of the examination completed by VHA for your claim being that they are health care related examinations, completed by licensed health care providers, and result in generated health care records and medical opinion. Your right to obtain this in 30 days is not waived by VBA.
Also, Prior to contract C&P Exams a veteran could obtain these C&P exam records from a VHA facility within 30 days after the exam by signing the form as they left their C&P appointment at that facility… and as the HIPPA law requires VHA to oblige to.
Here is the HIPPA Law, and it’s clear.
https://www.hhs.gov/hipaa/for-professionals/privacy/guidance/access/index.html The link below shows the DBQ forms that the VA requires to be completed by the contractor.
https://www.benefits.va.gov/compensation/dbq_publicdbqs.asp Since VBA is not utilizing VHA for C&P examinations, they send C&P exam requests to contracted companies, who then use third party independent licensed health care providers to complete the forms (DBQ’s) the VA requires from these exams. These providers are required to provide you with the records they generate as they pertain to you by HIPPA law, within 30 days.
VBA has explicitly instructed these contract companies, who instructs the third party providers, and veterans, to deny requests by the veterans to obtain the results of these exams.
“You’ll need to request a copy of the final exam report. You can’t get the results at your exam or directly from the provider.
To request a copy of the exam report, you’ll need to fill out a Freedom of Information Act or Privacy Act Request (VA Form 20-10206).
Get VA Form 20-10206 to download
You can submit the form by mail or in person. “
Ref:
https://www.va.gov/disability/va-claim-exam/ The VA requires Veterans to file “privacy act” requests to obtain these exam results, which takes 4-6 months minimum to receive, even though they are digitally created, maintained, and distributed to veterans via a file on a CD.
This prevents the veteran from knowing exactly what the third party licensed health care provider submits to the VA contracted entity, or for them to even discuss it with the veteran, thus violating HIPPA laws regarding access to personal health information.
This all sounds mundane in nature until you realize that the VA contracted companies pay the third party health care providers by the quantity of Disability Benefit Questionnaires (DBQ’s) filled out, and not by the quantity of appointments completed.
This means that the VBA is knowingly allowing VA contracted companies to schedule an undefined amount of DBQ’s to be completed in an single exam by a single third party provider.
Recently in April, I was scheduled for no less than 10 of these DBQ’s/exams to be completed in a single appointment which lasted less than 30 minutes.
The VA states, in every decision that the examiners who complete these exams review the “entire record” for every condition claimed, but I can personally prove this does not happen. They make this assertion because the examiner must check the box that they have done this.
The veterans subjected to these abbreviated appointments, that are often utilized to deny claims, have no idea what is included in the records the VA is utilizing to make their decisions. If the information in the DBQ is incorrect, the VA will still utilize it and weigh it as conclusive, and the Veteran has no way to correct it prior to a claim being decided.
This means Vets then have to go through lengthy appeals processes to simply correct a record that was completed by a third party who is financially incentivized to complete as many of these forms as possible.
The majority of veterans that deal with VBA have this same complaint, and it needs to be broadcasted out for awareness.
Veterans should know and have the ability to correct/validate any health record VBA is using to decide a claim that the Veteran has filed prior to a decision being made. HIPPA law requires 30 days for that health data to be provided. Waiting 4-6 months to obtain these records simply allows the VA to be vague on why they deny claims, and not give the Veteran the means to refute an exam that was inadequate until it’s too late. I believe this is a violation of HIPPA at a minimum, I believe it’s intentional design and it’s infuriating.
