This is super Long!!
AND
I’m not sure if this post is within the scope of this Subreddit… but I will try again.
Ok so my original post was removed before I was able to defend/ explain my side of this story. This was definitely not our brightest moment and I am in no way proud to sit here and tell everybody I was once addicted to heroine. It’s actually really hard due to the fact of what was said in the comments of my last post. But that isn’t why I am here. I’m not here to talk about my past and how I need to fix that issue because I’ve done that. That being said if you could please put yourself in my shoes and look at how my SO and I were treated during this time when we needed support and compassion, not betrayal and fake love from my MIL. MIL did try and manipulate the whole situation for no good reason other than to make herself look like she cared and make herself out to look like the “hero”. So this is another story but with a bit more explanation and background.
So me (31M yes,I forgot my age) and my SO (32F) have been together for about 4 years. Shortly after we made things “official” I found out that she was a long term heroine addict. She has been using for 10+ years. I explained earlier that at the time I was having trouble sleeping at night, but not why, but it was due to drinking too much red bull and I was on Adderall for my ADD. I drank to come down every night and when I found out about my SO and her heroine addiction she started openly doing around me so I became more and more interested in it over time because I seen how it just put her out!! I had to drink almost all day to barely fall asleep, so when I say inevitable, I mean if something is in your face like her shit was in mine, it more likely than not, is going to end up being very difficult not to try. Most people who have a heroine dependency know it only takes once or twice to be hooked. Kinda like someone eating ice cream in front of a lactose intolerant person. Not at all, I know, but I’m not trying to get too deep because I’m really here to talk about my MIL so don’t linger on our addiction.
So 2 years into our relationship my SO gets a feeling she could be pregnant. It wasn’t planned and I wish it could have waited until we were committed fully to sobriety, but that wasn’t in our cards. My MIL caught wind of my SO believing she was Pregnant and on Valentines Day gave Her a pregnancy test and a Flower. The results were in fact positive and we absolutely knew it was time to grow up and do better. MIL said she understood and made us believe we could confine in her and she would have our backs and she would Pray for us.
MIL called CPS on us when she was AROUND 7 months knowing we had a plan!We explained our situation and to CPS and they told us that they ultimately were not able to look into our case until LO was born. So she in essence tried to get him taken away right off Rip. It was later in the pregnancy when we found out we were expecting (LO Birthday is 6/27/21) so only giving my SO less than a month to find a doctor, to see Dr, and make a pretty drastic lifestyle change is definitely a little harsh. Maybe SO took a minute to get on Suboxone but how can you try and fuck with someone knowing they are putting in an effort to get better? And behind their back? (Rhetorical questions,To me it’s BS)
Anyways, she was all supportive to our faces but after we left or whatever she was off telling people we were 100% going to lose our LO. She told her sisters, her co-workers, and anybody else who knew us that we were handing rights over to her after birth because we couldn’t kick our addiction. She continued to fill her house up like she was truly going to come home with our LO. MIL completely child proofed her home to set the scene for her lies and delusions. We didn’t know. We thought MIL was just being extra and buying stuff for herself for when we “came to visit” but, nope!! She told people that “there was no way CPS will allow them to take that baby home” and “they plan to hand custody rights over to me before leaving the hospital” I even heard she had no faith that when our LO was born he wouldn’t have to go through withdrawals. All of which were UNTRUE. She KNEW SO was getting help so MIL wouldn’t have to be stuck raising our LO. We didn’t want that, we planned on getting Sober before baby came and that’s exactly what SO did. Unfortunately I wasn’t sober until after, but there wasn’t a time where both of us were using, one of us has always been sober taking care of our LO.
We did talk to everyone, even CPS, before leaving the hospital that needed to be informed and we were cleared to take him home! MIL still somehow convinced my SO that our LO was better off in her care and so CPS was called again to write up a “legal contract” (it was written with a marker on yellow lined tear-away type of paper) stating she had temporarily guardianship of our child for 6 months. All this entitled MIL to do was to go to his Drs appointments without us and to make critical decisions for him without our consent. Nothing else, we were not limited to seeing our LO or anything like that. She just needed to feel less like an idiot so I let her have her victory.
It didn’t last but maybe 2-3 months and she realized how time consuming and difficult it was to raise a newborn. She wasn’t able to do any housework and her sleeping schedule was abruptly interrupted and she just couldn’t handle it, so we of course, took him back and have been caring for him 125% since then like we always planned on doing.
Months later I don’t know what the reason was for my SO to be in her mothers closet, but she came across photos, along side court documents motioning to get full custody of our child. These were like the photos you wait an hour for at your local supermarket, but they were of my SO and I asleep with our LO in our arms, sleeping himself. Every picture it was one of us nodded off, looking as though we were high as a kite, looking after the LO. When In actuality we were napping with our NB, just like most new parents do, I’m sure!! But!!! she was snapping pics of us without our permission thinking she could carry out this delusion of us neglecting our LO.
She never admitted to doing us dirty, never once did we make any kind of remark, request, or even have a need for her to think she would be raising our child. She just needed everyone to see how great of a person she would be for stepping up. She needed validation for some weird reason.
As I speak my so is getting a text from her aunt saying MIL plans on taking in a homeless woman. AND SHE PROBABLY ISN’T EVEN HOMELESS!! Like she really has a problem!!!
My parents think she is unhinged, hopefully this completes the picture.

TLDR: my workplace f*cked me over and made me too depressed to do anything about it, i feel stuck
I don’t really know where to start. I’m f21 and have studied physics and worked as a research assistant at my university for the past three years.
In hindsight there were rad flags right from the beginning (that I happily ignored because the work itself was great). My PI was extremely busy plus he had health issues so I didn’t see a lot of him. He delegated (not officially) all his responsibilities in managing and teaching me to his phd, that was relatively young for a phd, 25 at the time.
That worked okay for a while until we were sent on that multiple month work trip. My PI told me the day before they had to change my contract for that time. I asked him what that’ll change and he told me it’s just a bureaucratic amenity because I’ll be abroad for so long. Within five minutes of that question I sat at the secretary and everyone urged me to get it done quickly, and the secretary was pretty harsh to me telling me I need to get my stuff in order and it’s my responsibility to come for the contract in time. (I don’t know why they set up the contact that late I agreed to the trip months in advance but I think the phd never communicated that to the PI and usually I got sent the contracts by mail). They didn’t even give me a copy of the contract and I had to sign I had no official affiliations to my university.
We were there for four months. Just me and the phd. I had to borrow an absurd amount of money to pay for the hotels we were staying at, thousands of euros. My contract was only for 20h although I worked much more at that time (and the country I was staying at was much more expensive than my home country), the PI told me they can’t hire students for more hours but I’ll get a daily allowance (abt 35€ a day) which I was ok with.
Well when I tried to send my receipts to the secretary they told me was responsible, I didn’t get a response for weeks. Apparently (and nobody had known or told me that, the phd repeatedly told me to send it to the unresponsive one) a completely different secretary was responsible for the kind of contract I had and the secretary I sent it to just ignored it cause she didn’t feel responsible. After about two months I got an angry mail from her to stop messaging her and send it to xy instead.
I was in debt about 8000€ at that point and my salary was 1000€ a month after tax. I repeatedly asked my PI if I will get that money back and if I will get the allowance and he said yes and not to worry. The phd only told me to not be hysterical and that I’m annoying everyone.
At a debt of about 12000€ I finally started getting money back, but the secretary said there is no allowance for the contract I’m in.
To say I was freaking out at that point is an understatement. And that’s not even where things really escalated. About a month before we went back my PI told me in a meeting that there had been several complaints from other students and other staff who found it was unfair I was working there. It was apparently so many students (he called it a mob) that the head of our group told him to cancel any further contracts, since it’s unfair to other students not having a job there and I shouldn’t get paid for learning (?!?). So they gave me a heads up about being let go after that semester…
Right. Then there was let’s say “romantic advances” from the phd. After I told him hard cut, I didn’t want that, his behavior towards me completely flipped. Before we worked great together and he’d frequently tell me he enjoyed working with me and i was doing good, when he did criticize me he did it in a respectful manner.
After that he’d flip out over everything. He’d be purposely be destructive, patronizing and demeaning. He’d frequently compare me to a child that needs to be disciplined. Once even making and argument that I should’ve been beaten by my parents. Telling me he has to be extra harsh to me now to reraise me or else I won’t be able to function in any other workplace. He’d tell me I mustn’t come to work when it’s been a few days since i was sick because I’m too stupid to recognize my symptoms and I’m just antisocial trying to make everyone in the office sick (he did that with other medical stuff too, making fun of me, asking me if I’m like this because I had adhd, telling me whatever medication I was taking didn’t work because I seemed slow (that was when I told him I couldn’t come to work that day because I had an epileptic seizure and needed to go to the doctors). When I told him that behavior was crossing a line he told me that’s just his way of criticizing me and I’m entitled for asking him to treat me in a certain way, that I just can’t take criticism and then he’d usually attack my character telling me everything is a character flaw after that.
We were back at home at this point but I still had a few months of contract left. He’d then also try to separate me from my PI, flipping out telling me I lack respect for talking to my PI about organizational matters (even though the phd had no official supervisor role and couldn’t officially decide anything about me). He’d tell me it’s my fault the work trip cost too much and it’s my fault he might not get an extension of his contract cause of the lack of project finances, even implying I gave him a bad rep at the institute because someone had supposedly asked him how long he was still allowed to stay. That I ought to talk to him because our PI is annoyed when I don’t, etc. Telling me I shouldn’t be under the impression we are colleagues and that I ought to treat him as a figure of respect, making absurd claims about conversations we had months ago claiming they were proof I lacked respect for him.
He did that whole thing to another female student before me too, trying to force her salary back after she felt too uncomfortable to work with him.
I finally went to my PI telling him I didn’t want to work with this phd anymore, explained what had happened. And though he was understanding he seemed pretty uncomfortable and told me he won’t choose sides, but I don’t have to come for my last month of work.
I still have a thesis to finish that officially the PI is the supervisor of, but I need a lot of info and data from the phd and sometimes I feel like he purposely withholds infos. Not giving me the login data to the employee cloud, not giving me access to the paper from the work trip (that I’m on too…) etc. I’ve never seen the daily allowance and I am still missing over a thousand euros from the hotel expenses. The phd then told me I should stop complaining because I was paid in experience. I feel stuck, I have financial issues and the whole thing made me become clinically depressed.

I've found out how detriment my shortness is to my life and I gotta uncontrolledly compare myself to others in various respects except height to compensate for my bad feelings brought about by my shortness and I think to end them all, limb lengthening surgery is unavoidable.
I am 23 y.o this year and I am only 162-163cm as a Chinese.
The only good things God gave me are my background(Shanghaiese, living in one of the richest CBDs of Shanghai), my intelligence(I am not being pretentious and don't want to brag about how high my IQ scores were which will make me look like a dumbass to common people who do not know Psychometrics, well but if you don't want to hear me out how high those scores are, then I think my two gold medals on American International Kangaroo Math Competition can evince myself as smart, although I took the papers at home), my face(well I am not sure if it can be militated against but everytime when my face was in question everytime my face was said to be good, by my relatives, my pedestrians, my classmates, and my gfs, one of which said she fell for me just because of my face, etc.), and my personality(I took Big Five Personality test and I got highest on 80 percentiles on Agreeableness and 70 percentiles on Openness. But I am very introverted) as well as my singing skills(I was recommended to sing a song in the graduation ceremony of my HS by my classmate).
Except these, the only bad thing I have is my height, which impresses every woman that I am a short man and I think even if I date them they will be just like 'You are short. I admit you are excellent but sorry I can't date you you are really short', not to mention I am living in the most toxic environment(because China is the most toxic country when it comes to heightism).
And yeah, believe it or not but i think I may be the man who is feeling most inferior all over the world. I can't even tolerate others saying my handwriting is NOT GOOD, others not replying my messages in a group chat, ask if there is no one caring about me or if I am a shitty person there, etc. I think this feeling is very related to me shortness.
I am a frequent browser of LL forum. My plan is to do a quarilateral lengthening to get up to 175+cm.
I am not saying China's average height(even for 00s young men) is 175+cm but there are discrepancies of height between regions of China and Shanghai indeed has a 175+cm average height. I can also afford Paley's Option 5 which will obtain me 16cm but I gotta do an arm lengthening surgery

I don't want this to be too identifying so I'll keep the description of events vague.
Several years ago my partner's family 'helped us' buy a home. The scenario is a little weird, but we were moving internationally for my partner's career, and without consulting (or even pre-warning) me my partner's family announced that they'd put a down payment on a house for us to live in, in the new country.
I was uncomfortable with the situation as we'd not discussed the issue at all and I wasn't sure if we could even afford the mortgage, but it was awkward because the house was framed like a gift to us, and my partner was relieved to have a home sorted in our new country. The house was directly represented to us as 'our' house, and so I also understood what a privilege it was to be able to contribute to our own mortgage rather than pay rent.
But problems began almost right away. It took me a few months to find a job in the new country and my partner was very stressed paying the bills. When I found a job, he asked that I provide him with my full income each fortnight to cover my contributions to the mortgage and bills. As my pay rose amidst promotions over the years, so did the sum he asked for. Eventually when my salary rose to be equal to his, I persuaded him to 'let' me keep a portion of my income in a separate savings account. Otherwise, he has insisted that he be responsible for paying the bills, which he does out of his personal account that I transfer money to.
Recently my partner is looking to move again for his career, and we are weighing the options of what to do with our home. Amidst this, it has come out that 'our' house is actually purchased and owned by my partner's family trust. I'm honestly flabbergasted. Over the past several years I've contributed over $300,000 to what I believed were mortgage payments and home renovations. My partner has now revealed they view that money as rent.
This has obviously caused a huge problem in the relationship. I'm not happy about being in my 30s and having no assets to my name, and I also feel like I've been douped into a rental situation which has significantly limited my prospects to build up any assets of my own. I've naturally relayed these concerns to my partner, but he refuses to engage with me on this and is really just feeding me non committal answers until I drop it. I just want to know what the legality of all of this is?
I've never signed a rental agreement, so I'm not sure if I can just be declared a renter? I don't even know how I want to proceed, but my biggest worry is that if either one of us decided to bail on the relationship I'll be completely fked over financially.

Doing some tax planning for my parents as they are retiring and just wanted to see if from what I understand is correct since they want to sell their primary residence.
Background: Parents have two homes one purchased 30 years ago and a rental property purchased 10 years ago.
They plan to sell their principal residence/my childhood home today and of course given this is their principal residence they will claim PRE and no tax on capital gains on their primary residence.
After they sall they may potentially move into part of the rental property (could also buy a condo or move somewhere else to retire) but assuming they move into the rental property. Of course this is considered change of use of the rental property and considered a deemed disposition at fmv in the year they sell the primary residence and move into the rental property.
However, they can elect to defer this tax liability based on subsection 45(3) and not pay capital gains until the actual eventual sale of the property. And file a letter applying subsection 45(3) in year of sale.
The part that I want to get some clarity on is that the election allows up to four years to be designated during the rental period. Does this mean that for example if my parents end up selling the property after owning for 20 years (10 years rental and another 10 years primary) the calculation for PRE means that when the property gets sold they can say 14 years primary and 6 years rental and upon sale the capital gains liability will be 6/20 years rather than 10/20 years?
If someone has any advice or knowledge on this that would be great. Just want to confirm, parents don’t have to pay a deemed disposition tax liability immediately and defer until it is sold and they can get an extra 4 years as principal residence.

Just trying to learn the situations that could lead to me needing to move at short notice. The other reasons in the legislation are a lot easier to understand (ownefamily moving in, owner selling, etc), but I can't figure out whether turning it into an Air BnB would fall under a legal reason to end things. My place used to be an Air BnB just before we moved in, so a bit more relevant to me than the average person.
The legal reason to end a periodic tenancy that this may fall into is:

The premises are to be converted into commercial premises for at least 90 days by the landlord or owner.[1]

In this Stuff article, someone from Harcourts Queenstown said:

“Changes to tenancy law mean a landlord can’t just get rid of a sitting tenant to put their property on Airbnb any more. They have to wait until the tenancy ends before they can do that.”

But this Crockers page says:

A landlord would be allowed to terminate a periodic tenancy by giving at least 90 days’ notice if the premises are to be converted into commercial premises (for example, to be used as an Airbnb).

The Crockers page was written in 2020 before the bill passed, but the part they are talking about did not change in the final text. I think insurance companies at least tend to consider Air BnBs as commercial premises too.

if she sees this, it'll be a very awkward situation, but here goes.
i met this girl, alexandra, in a college debate tournament at upenn in the middle of february. for reference, i go to harvard and she goes to princeton. she was very good at debate. i was not. thanks to an odd series of unexpected wins for me and my partner, we got matched up against each other.
we were trolling, and so my partner spouted some bullshit about how the judge should vote for us because we were immigrants, even if we debated worse (i'm indian; alexandra is italian-american, a la tony soprano). somehow, the judge bought it, and we won, even though we debated the actual topic worse. i emailed her afterwards to gloat, one thing led to another, and we ended up talking all night (we knocked her out of the tournament; we got knocked out ourselves two rounds later). she complained about the shitty judge and how much she hated people like us who "made a joke of debate". we sent 42 emails that night.
after the tournament ended, we kept talking on email (about debate). eventually, i asked her for her snap (she was also, may i add, gorgeous). we added each other. we continued our conversation from email, at first, but eventually the long paragraph-style responses turned into just normal talking and snapping. she wasn't a big part of my life at this point, though; just another girl who was cute and interesting to talk to. i learned some stuff about her -- she's crazy smart, but has pretty basic music taste, but she's solid at dancing; i also learned all about her family and that kinda shit. the normal 'getting to know you' phase.
i think the kicker came during spring break (march 9th, around half a month after the tournament). i went back home to india for the break. while i was jetlagged and up at 4am, i ended up talking to her every night. those conversations made me fall head-over-heels in love with her. i don't really know how it happened, it just kind of did; at some point, all the love songs suddenly became about her. i had dated girls before, but i don't think i've ever loved a girl until her.we talked about our futures, and what we wanted to do and be, and just 2am deep conversation type stuff; in other words, it was a much more intimate friendship than before. we had the red heart on snap and everything.
i will note, however, that, while talking to her was great, around this time it went from a 50-50 balance to me starting around 70-80% of conversations. that made me anxious; as i fell more in love, and the prospect of being with her became more tantalizing, i became more and more preoccupied with each conversation, playing it over and over again in my head. vacation also messed with my head; i had hours with nothing to do, and i filled them in no small measure with thoughts, dreams of her.
i also used to flirt with her a lot over break. she always took it in stride; sometimes she flirted back, sometimes not so much. she used to talk a good amount about her exes though, and also about how cute she thought she looked.
it's so hard to tell how much of this was reciprocated, because she was honestly a pretty closed person. she's not very communicative about her emotions, about what she really thinks; i often had to cut through a dense layer of sarcasm to get to her real meaning.
but, at some point, things came to a head. i asked her to call me once; she responded by saying, "coffee?". like an absolute moron, i replied "i'm not a coffee guy personally." i didn't even realize she was asking me out to coffee -- i thought
she was asking whether i liked coffee or not. she screenshotted that, which tipped me off; but by then, it was too late.
a couple days later, then, i asked her out on a date myself. she did not reply to me for a day and a half. then, she said, "sorry i was really busy with work!"
i reply, "lol np i thought i scared u off"
"LMFAO no. fw the blouse? "
what the fuck? (she never replied to the date thing by saying either yes or no).
after that, i lay low for a while. just casual flirting, nothing crazy. im still madly in love.
you know what, i'll skip all the details of the next two months.
basically, we grow closer as friends, but then some other guy asks her out on a date. she doesn't respond. he keeps texting her for a week; she declines in the end. but this dude triggers my own insecurity about her. my own clinginess comes back with a vengeance, and i basically start spamming her hoping she'd reply. eventually, things blow up on the day before her birthday; i keep chatting her, she doesn't reply. i became super frustrated and text her phone number (which she gave me).
she asks why i felt the need to text her even after she didn't reply. i'll admit i lied here -- i said i texted her for some work-related stuff, in order to save face. she called me on the bullshit. i doubled down and then asked her how she knew i was the one who texted her (i gave her my number at some point, but i didn't remember it then). in response, she said she "couldn't deal with this" and unadded me on snapchat. i then texted her saying, "I get if u don’t want to talk but i like being friends w u and i don’t want to lose that."
she blocks me. then, as a last resort, i send this email:

i promise that this is my last time ever talking to you. i just wanted to say the things that i always left unsaid.first of all, just about our last conversation: yes, i was lying. i know i shouldn't have. i texted you because you weren't replying. i didn't realize you had my number. im sorry.

My sister has a 8 months old baby boy ( same age as my baby). His dad is a narcissistic a*hole. He tries to control my sister and distance her from her family. He even forbid her to visit certain family members. They are not living together but he signed the papers about being the baby’s dad so my sister can’t make any decisions about the baby without him. For example for the daycare application in our country (Hungary) the dad’s signature is also needed and he won’t sign so my sister has to stay home without money, so she will be financially dependent from him. He often threatens her that he will take the baby to India (where he’s from). He is also trying to gaslight her to believe that she is not a capable mother. They are constantly fighting, she is in therapy since the birth, our mom is a nervous wreck because of the situation.

I sometimes feel like the rules I had growing up, was worse than the actual abuse from ex stepdad. He would get mad when we cried, yelling into our face towering over us etc. And other scary things. This will be an essay length read, so thanks in advance if you read it.
And it’s like my mom and him didn’t compromise, it was more like they combined their rules than agreeing on some.
Just to name a few:
My mom worked as an environmentalist, so “save the plant” “reduce, reuse, recycle” stuff. She didn’t let us use plastic, straws, paper bags….with a few exceptions. And if she saw trash on the ground in public, she most the time just HAD to pick it up.
And both her and my stepdad were eco groovy, so biking or walking only to school, which was around 5 miles combined each day. We ran errands on bikes if it was closer than 5 miles: the bookstore, market, even to hiking trails. When my mom started letting us bus in middle school with HER money, my stepdad threw an adult tantrum. He seemed to enforce the rules more than her, very rigid guy.
We had a 5 minute shower limit, and if we went over my stepdad would threaten to make us cut our hair…since that takes up most of showering. He didn’t allow make up, not even in high school, it was luck for him to only complain about it. (Didn’t matter if you were a girl or boy.) He didn’t allow shaving, he got pissed when I was 12 and tried. He gave naturalist vibes. He didn’t even like my mom wearing lipstick. I am still shocked at 21, seeing my mom wear make up, because I didn’t know she was into it. Ages 5-15, we were living with my ex stepdad. When I was around 6, my mom was trying to teach me how to shower on my own, and my stepdad yelled that I’m old enough to know and she’s wasting water. So I didn’t properly learn until later on. (Side note: he also interfered with her teaching me how to tie my shoes, because he didn’t like her teaching me the “bunny ears” way, he wanted the other way, even though “bunny ears” is easier for me. I wore Velcro mostly because of that).
My mom and stepdad were both very anti screens, the tv was off 98% of the time. We had one of those old fashioned 90’s tv’s, no cable purposely—even though between both of them it was affordable—we just weren’t allowed enough tv for it. My mom turned on Little House on the Prairie, when we did laundry, and like I said..stepdad enforced it more and would yell “I thought you didn’t like them watching tv!!”. My mom took any screens we had away, when we stayed home sick, because “if you are well enough to use a screen, you are well enough for school”. And if we had a fever for a week, then she’d allow us to which Christmas classics. For the most part, we weren’t allowed to use our phones in the car, because she’d prefer us to look out the window, than electronically isolate ourselves. I got my phone at 13, but she said “that’s my phone, you’re just borrowing it” a lot. I was 15 when I got full autonomy over it….that’s when we left ex stepdad as well. When my older brother was 17, he was being toxic online (btw he had to fight for his social media privilege), I was 14 at the time and my little sister was 12. And because they didn’t want him using our devices, we got punished as well, group punishment I guess. Except for my ex stepsister who’s my age, she got to keep all hers. My sister and I’s only Christmas present from them that year was 1 hour screen time, and that’s it then we had to give it back. I just realized how much I wrote about this, so I’ll move on but just know there’s more.
My mom was a health nut, only allowed fast food once a year after our Christmas pictures, like a tradition. My stepdad couldn’t control himself around chocolate, so we weren’t allowed to have that in the house. If there was ice cream in the fridge, we had to ask permission, or we’d get yelled at. And most the time we only had vanilla ice cream in the house, we’d use chocolate sauce sometimes. (There was exceptions to not having chocolate in the house). The most sugary cereal we were allowed was mini wheats, or Cheerios we could add sugar into it. We were only allowed that healthy wheat bread. My siblings and I were forced to make our own lunches from 3rd grade on, while my stepsister was allowed to buy lunch at school. While all the other kids brought cupcakes during school/class parties, my mom only let me bring fruit or other healthy snacks. My stepdad didn’t even like school parties or movie days, he was professional, and complained that school is for learning not wasting time.
All these rules were from 5-15. There’s so many other rules I had growing up, just the things I wasn’t allowed or the activities I was forced to do: archery from age 6+, orienteering from age 7, backpacking from middle school-high school, ice skating. All this on this post seems to have a bigger impact, than my stepdad actively abusing me, screaming that crying is for babies when I was 5…and everything. Having such a restrictive life was hell. Oh, also no video games even the non violent ones. 7:30pm bedtime until I was 13, 8pm until 15, wasn’t allowed to play with legos. So many rules I don’t think it’s possible to get through them all.
