Comizahual was a woman of great dignitiy and extraordinary beauty.
Her people adored her, and they were happy to obey her, for she was a natural leader.
She was a sorceress, and worked wonders with her magic arts.
She was different from the women of the Lencas and other Indian tribes in all sorts of ways; but the strangest thing of all was the whiteness of herr skin.
When she first appeared in the land of the Lencas, she travelled far and wide.
Followers flocked to her banner.
Then she built a palace in Cealcoquin, the loveliest and most fertile part of the land, and began to rule.
She was a strict ruler, with many servants and soldiers, but anyone could appeal to her if they felt they had been treated unjustly.
For some time there were still tribes holding out against her, but Comizahual led her troops in battle and defeated them, so that they too became part of her empire.
Comizahual's magic powers made her all the stronger.
One day she rose into the sky and disappeared for many hours.
When she came back she was carrying a rock with three outcrops that looked like faces, a magic talisman that put her enemies completely in her power.
THere were rocks with faces all over Cealcoquin, some like people and others like animals, many of them pumas.
Pilgrims came from far away to pray to them, and the most revered of all were the puma heads.
Comizahual never married, but she had three sons, bearded men who loved her dearly and held positions of great power among the Lencas.
They had skins of white like Comizahual, and some say that they were her brothers, not her sons.
Many years passed, and the Jaguar Princess grew old and weak.
In the end she fell sick, and people feared that she would die.
She still issued orders from her bed, but she no longer could get up and walk.
At last she felt death draw near, and called her sons and loyal chieftans to her.
Sadly they all gathered round.
"Soon I must leave you," she told them. "
My sons shall govern my realm between them.
Their rule shall be strict, but fair, and my people shall obey them as they obeyed me.
Do not quarrel, my sons.
For you can preserve your kingdom and protect your subjects only as long as you live together in harmony.
You must neither give unjust orders, nor tolerate injustice in others.
Help the poor, my sons, and make my country rich and strong."
Her sons could not bear to think of losing their mother.
"Stay with us, mother," pleaded the eldest, stepping forward.
"Our people need you."
"No, my son," replied Comizahual, gently but firmly.
My time on the Earth is over.
Fate wills it so.
Here, take my crown, and carry me into the streets so that I can take leave of my people.
The servants raised the bed and carried it outside.
When the people saw their Jaguar Princess, they rushed out and surrounded her, weeping and asking her blessing.
Suddenly a bold of lightning split the sky, and the air shook with thunder.
Everyone threw themselves on the ground.
And at that moment Comizahual vanished, and a bird with colours like the rainbow blew up into the sky.
"She has turned into a bird and gone to heaven," cried the Lencas, full of fear and awe.
Even since then the Lenca Indians have worshipped Comizahual as a goddess,
and every year they hold a great festival in honour of their Jaguar Princess.

2023.06.03 08:54 thePOVofExisting This post is copied from my notes just now of what I wrote down after waking up from an INTENSE round of dreams. Pretty trippy stuff lol. Also hilarious. I’m leaving in all the insanity and typos and non-sensical things that happened naturally while trying to get this one written down.

My dream
Bouncing trough realities, channels. Seeing reality from the “inside”, moving though lives. There were “maintenance workers”/who also in this reality are DMT elves to us
The silver 50’s looking trailer thing (that area had the “vibe” or feeling of a 1940’s’s atom bomb / fall out boy type area if that makes sense at all - it felt like I was taking a break off scenes on a set but a set that had “40’s/50’s vibes lol) that was zapping the area and felt like electricity was producing the power to our reality. It felt like someone was tampering with something earlier in my dream causing some sort of “short” or misfire, or maybe I was briefly SCTYALLY “unplugged” for maintenance /one layer outward/the 4th dimension. I saw some sort of residual of that world.
Everything looked “more” than 3D as if inside another dimension, reality was projected from all angles , making each “slice” of “reality” more “detailed” with “information” so it just naturally gave everything an odd shape that is hard to describe, but it involves how much information is available to see that gives our vision and reality the “3D” or “more” than 3D “visuals”. I will also include that vision also felt like more of a physical part of myself and each otheevery thing/every “file” of information projecting reality, the electricity of life, being powered in these bursts of electricity. I felt like I was covered in eyes or being “conscious” from all angles.
Someone was changing my “channel” and was flipping through my lives. I saw myself be everything I wanted to be or could have been or will do while also somehow being aware of what’s greater than myself or “behind” me/life/poweringn this reality. As all life is happening simultaneously, we just have certain “viewers” or “players” visiting each of our lives and playing as them occasionally. At one point I became the “best” version of myself and I was Ryan gosling.
I’m fairly certain we are in an all knowing, all powerful alien reality matrix, or are inside a powerful consciousness an Alien child’s science experiment in another “life”/slide of reality where we are her science experiment for an 8th grade science class and she was required to using basic “elements” in her reality, 1) create basic small new life, 2) open up a beginners small worm hole and or black hole, either will be accepted 3) display basic levels of evolution within her “colony”/reality/box of life. 4) create a basic “neuron” which to them is a “spark” but also contains life giving properties
Idk how or why but also the fact that this “life” exists, ties into some sort of made up story down in “earth lives”/our current “channel of reality”, because everything ties into itself, for forever, inward and outward, everything that is forever is all one both inside and out. Like an ouroboros. This is what life is. It expands outwards and inward infinitely powered and connected to each dimension and life and reality forever inward and onward and outward and backward and forward it’s all anything can do. Layers of “information” and “reality” almost sort of “sloughing through” in a way during both for only one instant moment in “time” or the one “first slide of life”., like slide of film you put in a camera or this square clear things you put on stuff under microscopes
This channel is being powered by her science experiment which ironically enough is also what’s powering hers but also not at the same time because everything exists all at once bc it’s all that’s possible so everything that CAN happen does exist in some way and always will. This means that dead loved ones are never gone. They are always alive and with you and every version of yourself with them exists at all times. You just need to reach them by thinking about them and sparking up their “life” again by causing a neuron to fire that contains basic i formation about each channel

1yo male cat
Only other pet is his brother (also male)
No prior health issues
100% indoors
Up-to-date with worming and vaccinations

My male cat was calling out for me whilst in his litter yesterday and he did not pass any urine. This happened about 5 times.
I took him to an emergency vet yesterday and they said that there's no blockage. They did no other tests and sent him home.
I took him to a local vet this morning and they were able to easily express his bladder, they said there was still no blockage. They ran a urine analysis and they said there was no Uti, urine crystals or blood. They said it was weird that he couldn't urinate because they couldn't fine any issues, but gave us an anti-inflammatory to take for a few days just in case. He urinated on the floor this morning (never happened before), but it was just a dribble.
Any ideas on what to do? He's eating normally, he's not lethargic, he's mainly on a mixture of royal canin wet and dry foods, he also has a clean stainless steel water fountain with filters changed regularly.

I have been looking at getting one of 3 Ultimate Ears CIEM Models… My choices have come down to 7 pro, RR, And 11 pro. I am a guitarist who plays live, little singing, and loves to listen to music… Looking for the best all around one to play live and to hear great music without any low ends or high ends being too muddy or unable to be mixed and lost… Any experience with either to help me make my decision. As of now my biggest choice is the 11 pros, and it's the 7 pros with one extra bass which might be better for general music listening and not as great for live playing on guitar but worth it. Let me know.

2023.06.03 07:29 GraceAppleMarble It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover: Is anyone else confused?

SPOILER ALERT. DO NOT READ ON IF YOU WISH TO NOT SPOIL THE STORY FOR YOURSELF.

TRIGGER WARNING: Subject revolves around domestic violence and abuse, please be aware.

After finishing this novel, I could not tell if I even liked the book or not. Surrounding the hype of this series, I was expecting a love story. Plain and simple. To my surprise, the book threw me for a whirlwind of emotions.

I do not understand the novels' popularity. Does it stem from the weight of the piece, how its content has surprised them, or what? Please answer this question.
I did exactly what the author wanted me to do; I fell in love with Lily's abusive husband, Ryle. I did not fall in love with Atlas as much and I felt that the journal entries although a good idea to connect Lily's past to the present, it seemed a little out of place and unrealistic to me.
I have seen other posts critique the way there are not as many parallels drawn between Ryle and Lily's father by Lily throughout the book. I think this is an intentional choice because Lily swore to NEVER be with ANYONE like her father, but she did find that. She was in denial that she fell into the cycle that she despised between her father and mother.
Lastly, the novel has ultimately made me mad at myself. I wanted Lily to take Ryle back. I feel as though that is what I would have done. Then, in the novel where she speaks about how abusive relationships are a cycle and how "it ends with us," I think it just broke me.

She wrote about something so true and it scares me to think that people are stuck in these situations because of how easy it is to be on the inside of it all. On the outside, we are so quick to say "dump him!" Everyone processes things differently and until you are on the inside, you will never know what it's like to be that person in that relationship.
Overall, I am heartbroken, not even her getting together with Atlas in the end made me happy. I think the book all happened too fast for me to process the emotions that I was feeling. I am in shock at what I just read and the thoughts that it has made me think scare me.

The censorship of books happens around the world every year, but the fact that it happens here in the U.S. – a country that brags about its freedoms, with one of them being “freedom of speech” – is flat-out ironic. It is humiliating to the point where the people running this country might as well send the Bill of Rights through a paper shredder.
According to ALA, American Library Association, book censorship has gone up drastically, a 40% increase in the past year. If one were to look at the books being censored today, one would notice a trend: the censorship of anything with LGBTQ+ content, popular issues, and people of color.
Book censorship is not a new thing. To Kill A Mockingbird, a novel by Harper Lee is one of the oldest, most challenged books in the country. Ever since being published in the 1960s, the book faced both love and criticism. In early attempts to remove the book, many campaigns used a part of the story, the rape allegation, and the n-word usage as the reasons to get the book removed from shelves.
Using the rape allegation, a small part of the whole story, as the main reason to get the book removed shows how people do not read the books they challenge. If they did, they would have realized the main focus of the book is not the rape allegation, but the experiences of the main characters as they both grow up realizing the world is not so good and pure after all. Harper Lee’s use of the n-word was not random. Its use made the book a realistic depiction of the America that existed back then and in many ways still exists today. There is no denying that the use of the n-word in the novel can make the readers uncomfortable; in fact, it should be. Being uncomfortable shows that one acknowledges the history of America and a problem ingrained in its DNA – racism. Simply avoiding discomfort out of one's own desire is ignorance at its best. Choosing comfort is to bury the past deep under the soil, praying that it will decay over time when really, it is planting seeds of disaster. If books like To Kill A Mockingbird – books that offer different perspectives into peoples’ lives – are removed from shelves, the people of this country would be limiting their understanding of those around them.
Books that contain LGBTQ+ content are big targets of this censorship. This Book is Gay by Juno Dawson and is on the Top 13 Most Challenged Books of 2022 according to ALA. The book is challenged for being sexually explicit, its LGBTQ+ content and some adults even accusing it of pornographic material. However, the book’s main purpose is to serve more as a manual for those who have questions about sexuality, sex, or gender. In many past interviews, Dawson expressed that as a former teacher in sexual education and wellness, she felt that sex education for the LGBTQ+ community was underrepresented, especially since most of the sexual education taught today centers around a male and a female. Removing a book like This Book is Gay from the shelves, is essentially removing the representation that many people look for in today’s world. When a book like This Book is Gay is displayed on shelves, it is not just a book; for many, it is a beacon of hope.
It is true that some young adult books contain illicit passages, but to accuse an author of writing pornographic material to children is absurd, more or less a stretch. People need to realize that most if not all writers have some sort of relation with children. In the case of author Jean Kwok, she had to come to a Pennsylvania school hearing to speak against the banning of her own book, Girl In Translation. She made a clear point at the hearing that she is a mother, and, as a mother, she asked the board if would she write porn knowing her children would read her books one day?
There are many things people can do to fight against book censorship. It all starts with being more active in the community. Attend local meetings that have a say over the whereabouts of books such as city board meetings and school board meetings. After all, the board members oversee local library operations. Pay attention to the news, especially local news. Most importantly, vote! Not voting can increase the chance of letting a piece of legislation that ultimately harms the public’s interest get passed under their noses. If there is a book that is in the process of being removed from the public, speak up about it at the meetings. Although some states are not as big as other states when it comes to book censorship, it is important to keep it that way. One way residents can do this is by contacting their local representatives and asking them to reaffirm their position on book censorship.

2023.06.03 05:26 Tartarium Two friends of mine disappointed my in one night

This is a type of post I never wrote before. Today there was a hangout from people of my degree. We had dinner together and we drank alcohol. One of my closest friends lost her wallet during the night, and it was so bad, I am still feeling sorry for her despite everything. I went with her to the police, to the restaurant, stayed with her while she talked with the police.
After she cancelled her cards and kept walking with the rest of the people, another friend of mine started making advances on me. I just said yes to everything and we kissed a lot of times. I only started saying no when he wanted to go to my house and "be intimate with me" (his words).
Our walk ended up in a fast food restaurant, where I said my final no to him and after that he just kinda ignored me. Along with him, a lot of other people ignored me (including the other friend I mentioned before) and I realised that no matter how close I am with these people, they don't really care about me, I am just someone to spend time with laughing.
My closest friend was the biggest blow, she lives in the same area in the city I live, and yet she asked an uber to another zone of the city without telling me, I only found out when I actually talked with her.
I am beyond shattered, she really did take me for granted for the whole night, and then ignored me and would go away without telling me unless I approach her. This reslky shows how much people I know care about me.
