To be honest, I don't want to truly be gone. Maybe everything around like a reset. Ever since I was a child things weren't that great. I live in a country where hitting a child is still accepted as long as it's to discipline them (or what I think so). My mom is strict in a way that she's the who actually gets a say to this family rather than my dad. We are a family of four, my mom, dad, me and my younger sister (2 years younger). My dad works, and she is a housewife and takes care of us, but she really loves to hit me all throughout my life, but it lessened once I turned 18. I learned my ABCs with her hitting me on the head multiple times, pulling my hair, hitting my head on the table that my lips would have a wound. I remember one day, I refused to speak at all as she was teaching me since I was tired, I wanted a nap (I was 3 that time as I remember this is a blur) my sister was sleeping so I wanted one too. But my mom got so mad and started yelling, pulling my hair, pinching me making me cry; and this next thing she does happened multiple time throughout my life is that if she hits me hard and I cry loudly she would yell, pinch or cover my mouth and says if I cry louder and disturb anyone I would get hit. She then grabbed me by the hair and dragged me outside locking me out the gate for a while, as I begged her to let me in. This memory has stuck to me ever since it came back and haunts me to this day, and my mom doesn't even remember or validated it when my sister asked about it when I told her.

There are similar things that happened to me that way, I know I was a very naughty and a handful of a child, but I don't think I deserve what I get is all, I get my basic needs met which is great but I was just a child that time, which is unfair. I never get my emotional needs just like when I fell off and got hurt I already had that ringing feeling in my head and she hit me on the head even harder. Or if she caught me crying instead of comforting she scoffs and mocks me that I always do it for attention or I'm doing some self-pity over myself. I was a great student when I was younger, before high school I had medals and achievement, I still had a few when I was in high school though.

In high school though things went more downhill. I just fully explored social media, the internet and some "interesting" content. My parents never let me use gadgets when I was younger and try to keep me safe from it. I was exposed to these, and I have met a few people online who used me as something for pleasure, and one day before I truly interacted with anyone online I discovered "smut" which is a fanfic, or literally a written porn. I was curious and took a video of me doing it (masturbating). It was shameful and wrong and my parents saw it, mom was hysteric, my dad was crying. I was truly ashamed, but what's unfair for it is my mom shamed me, called me names like slut or whore she thought I showed it to anyone but I never did I just couldn't defend myself since she never wanted me to "talk back". Those stuck to me up to this day, I turn for any sexual attention online before I turned 16 and as I grew older my sexual drive fluctuates so much but I grew up to stop asking for this type of attention. They became harsh with everything now stricter too, they don't trust me, I have no room to grow or fully change, my mental health worsened and I never felt more alone. I grew depressed, and suicidal thoughts that I went through with 4 unsuccessful attempts to OD (that no one is aware of), and cuts my wrists where my parents saw and called me selfish. Mom's selfish for calling me that, she said she's the who's supposed to do this since we have and full family while her mom passed away and her dad's not present with her mother's friend taking them in with her brother. I had a surgery around 4 years ago and my only thought I still have for it is that I wish I never woke up.

I don't have anyone to run to, my dad's emotionally absent, my mom's abusive, I got no close friends, and I'm not close to any of my relatives and I know they'll side with my parents since no one liked me. And I am stuck in a household like this. I'm failing in college, I don't have a job, I'm failing in life overall. I feel like a burden. I had dreams. All I have is my online friends, and my ldr boyfriend and his wonderful mum that loves me more than my own mother.

These people are the only people I'm hanging on now for 3 years now and that's why I don't want to be fully gone. They made me learn to be more human, and grow as a person with my own personality and such. They validate my emotions and became my family. I wish mental health is important here and therapy's not considered as a taboo or people would see you as an insane person. I know to myself that I suffer some mental problems, it's either depression, bipolar, bpd. But my friends point out I might have adhd or autism, since some of them have this and are diagnosed. I don't really want to believe that I do since I just think maybe it's in my head, or I might burden people more if I discover I have this.

I want to apologize for all but I wish whoever's younger or anyone who would be reading this please do your best in life, get some friends even just a few that you could rely on, it's nice. 30yr F- hit my head REALLY hard on the pavement yesterday to the point where i heard that high pitched ringing noise with muffled voices(like what you see in the movies). i ended up going to the hospital a little after because when i laid down to ice my head i started to get dizzy so i knew that was a telltale sign i should go. i get to the hospital and they checked my head to see if there was a gash and i was told there was a tiny scratch. next they take me for a cat scan and an x-ray for my elbow that got thrashed. long story short, 2-3 hours later i ended up just walking out without waiting for the results of anything because i felt as if they were neglecting me as well as discriminating against me. so i didn’t get to know what was wrong if there was anything. the doc came in to have me sign papers and was just telling me to rest but that he didn’t think i had a concussion because i would be dizzy and lightheaded, along with a headache and sensitivity to light. which i was nodding my head in agreement that i had all of that. except maybe light sensitivity. i’m pretty sure he was underestimating how hard i actually hit my head. my girlfriend witnessed it and heard the ‘traumatizing & disturbing’ sound it made. so my question is, do i possibly have one? the only symptom i have is frequent dizziness when i lay my head back, too fast or do any type of movement too quickly while standing. of course i’m sore but that’s it. how long will this dizziness last?

Since learning about mbti I have not been able to stop thinking of the question of why the distribution of personality is the way it is, and what factors could play into changes with it.
I want to be clear that I am not and do not want to pit type against type. I view the 16 personalities as a successful evolutionary development that has allowed our species to prosper and become the most dominant animal on the planet.
I do not have proof that can back this up, hence the hypothesis; but I will present correlations that could be explained by my hypothesis. I’m also sure that the evidence to refute or confirm this already exists within Myers Briggs data itself, and other organizations that have large personality datasets, but I do not have access to this data.
Why the distribution is as it is:
To explain this I’m going to divide the personalities into 4 groupings based on the top perceiving functions and explain in a few words why I think this distribution is beneficial for all of us.
Si Dom and Aux (SJ) 46.1%
Se Dom and Aux (SP) 27%
Ne Dom and Aux (NP) 19%
Ni Dom and Aux (NJ) 7.9%. Percentages from myersbriggs.org
SJ types insure we do not repeat past mistakes, and plan with continuity with what has worked best insuring the tribe prospers. We are nothing without a working memory connected to what has worked in the past and knowledge and ability to repeat what works.
SP types react to changes real-time and provide solutions for problems that the tribe encounters. If we are unable to quickly react to change, our tribe will not be successful as change inevitably occurs.
NP types provide options for what could work, and ideas of what may be successful in the future. If we are unable to generate new ideas for the future the tribe may not progress as quickly as we could.
NJ types provide a path and plan forward that the tribe can follow. Without a path and a plan forward we may flail around and not progress on a clear path forward to the future.
Based on what I have written the personality distribution of the 4 perceiving types seems to make sense to me, and I’m not going to elaborate further.
What causes the distribution to be as it is:
I next thought about what mechanism could be in place setting these percentages, and what could influence it one way or another. It could be that it is genetic alone and the percentages are somehow baked into our DNA, but I have not seen any selection patterns in families and this would be too slow of a process for change and not allow for quick pivot to a distribution of different types. If however the changes were based on epigenetic influences, it is possible that personality could be impacted more quickly and based on more than a slow evolutionary genetic process.
Hypothesis:
Parental age at conception of child through epigenetic processes influence the percentage of children born with specific mbti personalities.
I will point to a couple items that correlate with what I’m saying, acknowledging that this is not proof:

1. Descriptions of children based on birth order

I remember way back in sociology and looking at the differences in children based on birth order. After finding mbti, and now seeing it clearly I can see the cognitions in my own kids and those of my family and friend’s kids. I know many will disagree, but I firmly believe each personality is locked in at birth. I don’t believe for one minute that the behaviors attributed to the order of kids are primarily tied to how they are parented and due to the way parents treat them differently.
Looking over for the words to describe 1st born children it seems clear that SJ traits are listed, where traits attributed to other types SP, NP, NJ would be more represented in the middle and young children.
I don’t see this as a factor of parenting, or the order of the child, but it correlates with the age of the parents. 1st children will be born to younger parents then middle and subsequent children.

1. Parent age impact on ADHD

I have also read the correlation for many years of older fathers having a higher incidence of children with ADHD.
The correlation that I’ve seen, but don’t have concreate data on is that intuitive, NP followed by NJ have the highest rates of ADHD; it seems SP types would be represented as well.
I understand that diagnosis has improved and has undoubtedly lead to an increase in ADHD numbers as well, but I don’t believe this is the sole cause of the seen increase.

1. Political leanings

I’m sure this may generate a chunk of response, and there are certainly many other reasons for this division, but I still wanted to include it as it may account for some of the differences seen. This article and the data is ‘in general’ I am well aware that any type can have any particular political leaning however I do not disagree with this article explaining the general trends:

1. Country differences

After looking at the US, I wanted to look at the whole world and see if any patterns emerged:
As 16personalities mention themselves, the data they have is skewed with a larger representative of intuitive, but the skew should occur in all locations showing possible still valid differences between countries.

I tried to find a source for average age of parents to children in general for all countries, but I could not find it. Most research is tied to first child alone, though we know the mean age is of course going to be older then the first child, and I found this helpful graph

I wanted to compare this data to the areas that stand out from the 16 personality data. South America stood out as a higher percentage of intuitive compared to the rest of the world. When we look at the previous graph; for reasons that I did not dig into (economic, religions, war), Columbia, Mexico, Costa Rica, and Chile all had an average of older births in 1970 then much of the rest of the world. This correlates to the higher intuitive percentages recorded from those countries (I also understand that everyone who takes the 16personalities test is not 50, and I do not know how quickly these counties transitioned to younger births, but it still stands out.
I didn’t look at African countries in detail, but I expect that the average age of parent is younger then Europe and South America. No data is available for China either, but with the one child policy of the last 30 years there have not been 2nd children to skew an average older which may mean that the average age of parents in China has been lower as well.
Is it possible that the age of parents contributes to the selection of personality?
I am not saying that 18 year old parents can’t have an NJ, or 50 year old parents can’t have an SJ, but as a whole I hypothesis that younger parents have a higher percentage of SJ children and older parents have a higher percentage of NJ children with SP and NP falling between them.
As mentioned I believe the data to refute or prove this already exists in personality databases. The question of parental age was likely not included in these datasets, but it would still be possible to see if there is a trend of change from year to year which would correlate to the age of parents over time.
What does all of this mean?
I’m concerned if this is accurate that the distribution that we currently have could change and it could actually change very quickly evolutionarily speaking.

Looking at the last 250,000 years it looks like the average age of a mother at conception was 21-26 years. As the previous Image 4 shows we have pushed the mean age of a birth from 27, fifty years ago to 31 today. Based on the data above this is a gigantic change in a very short period of time, and one that has likely not appeared in human history prior.
Maybe I’m crazy, but I can’t stop seeing connections, though maybe they really aren’t there. Still there has to be a reason for the distribution and some mechanization that could result in a different distribution.
What would happen if we have more people offering up possibilities and more people presenting many more paths to the future? What would happen if we became less tethered to what has worked, and more quickly push for change? Is some of the conflict that we see today being amplified by a changing demographic of personality?
I can't believe that this topic hasn't been discussed before, but I couldn't find it anywhere. I might regret this post, but it's only reddit.

Hey everyone! This is the part that I was most excited to write. This is also the one that I had the most trouble writing. I found out I don’t know how to write wedding scenes because I haven't been to that many. I think I did ok though. I had an idea of what I wanted this part to be about, but it just ended up running away from me. I feel like less of an author and more of a transcriber for these parts sometimes. “I want you to think about this.”
“I am! And I want to go through with it.”
They had been having this argument for the last two hours. Ever since the news came in about that big slave ring bust and the resulting adoption crisis, Jacob had wanted to do something about it. So, he pitched an idea to Tal’ven.
“You can barely keep yourself alive, let alone another person!” she shouted.
“If you’re talking about the caffeine overdose, then that was one time! You even made me swear off energy drinks!”
She paused for a moment. He did have a point. He hasn’t even touched the stuff since that happened a week ago, despite having the habit of drinking them for well over a year now.
“And even then, I managed it on Earth well enough. Trust me, I’ll be fine.”
“I still don’t like you doing this by yourself.” She said, still hesitant about the whole idea.
“What if we did it together? Adopting, I mean.” Jacob said desperately trying to find a compromise.
Tal’ven thought about it for a minute, going over the idea in her head. It was a good idea, one that he must have spent some time thinking about if he brought it up so confidently. The only issue that she saw was- “Wait, you have to be married in order to adopt together.”
Jacob froze at the mention of marriage. He stood there for so long that she was afraid that something was wrong with him. Before she could do anything, he loudly swore, startling her.
“Just my luck to have this plan ruined." He started rummaging in one of the kitchen drawers. "I was planning to do this when we went to Jim’s later today, but screw it, we’re doing it live,” he said as he pulled out a box. As he got onto one knee, he opened the box. Inside was a golden ring with a beautiful diamond front and center.
Tal’ven was too shocked to respond. She brought both sets of arms up to her mouth covering it in a very human gesture. “How long have you been planning this?” she asked tears starting to stream down her face.
“Right after the caffeine overdose.” He chuckled. “It seems like life has a way to make you reevaluate what’s important, and you’re the most important thing in my life. So, what do you say? Would you like to spend the rest of yours with me?”
“Yes!” she shouted before enveloping Jacob in a bone crushing hug. After finally being released from her vicelike grip, he slipped the ring on her finger. “A perfect fit, how did you know?” she asked.
“I snuck your finger measurements while you were sleeping two days ago.” She gave him a look. “I know, I know. It makes it sound creepy, but I wanted to surprise you with it,” he said hastily. “So… when do you want to get married?”
That simple question then spawned a discussion that lasted well over two hours. Jacob wanted to just walk to the nearest courthouse, get the paperwork done, and have a really nice meal afterward, preferably at Jim’s. Tal’ven, on the other hand, wanted to go all out for the wedding. She started looking up traditional human wedding practices, along with the sspyno ones that were similar enough to be integrated into the ceremony that she was already planning.
“I don’t see why we have to go through all of the pomp and circumstance, and besides, it’s not like I have anyone from my side to invite,” Jacob said, trying to shoot the idea down as quickly as he could.
“Well then, I guess I’ll have to invite twice as many people then!” responded Tal’ven stubbornly.
The conversation went on and on, until they finally settled on a couple of things. The first thing they settled on was the date, one month from then. It would give them time to iron out all of the kinks of planning the wedding, in addition to give everyone that Tal’ven wanted to invite time to get there. The also agreed on the venue, and the size of the wedding. Due to them wanting two completely different things, they ended up compromising on a small wedding with no more than twenty people invited. They then started discussing who they would even want to invite. Tal’ven mentioned inviting her parents, and Jacob immediately went pale.
“What’s wrong?” Tal’ven said, looking worried.
“I forgot to ask your parent’s permission for this little stunt I’ve pulled,” whispered Jacob, looking worse than when he overdosed on caffeine. Before she could ask why that was such a big deal he said, “that’s a big thing in human culture, you’re supposed to meet your soon to be in-laws before you propose.”
“Honestly, I don’t think that they will mind. Heck, they’ll probably be thrilled to find out that I’m finally settling down. The only surprise will be that you’re human… probably.”
Jacob looked a little better than he had a second ago. “Ok. I just would rather not piss off some people that could kill me without even trying.”
“Oh you’ll be fine!” insisted Tal’ven. “In fact, let’s call them right now to tell them the good news!”
What little color that returned to Jacob’s face immediately drained away again as the call went through.
Jacob had managed to survive meeting Tal’ven’s parents despite his greatest fears. The month passed rather quickly in a blur of trying on tuxes, tasting wedding cakes, and hiring Jim for catering. He was standing at a traditional human altar with Jim behind him as his best man. He tugged on the collar of the uncomfortable tux he wore while he waited for the ceremony to start. As the doors to the venue opened, Jacob was left speechless. Tal’ven walked in, and the first thing that he noticed was that she was wearing jewelry, blood red with white accents to clearly meant to help the color of her scales become more vibrant. The second thing that he noticed was that she was being escorted by her father, an older sspyno with the same red scales of his daughter, just more muted. Jacob didn’t fear very many things that could physically hurt him, most of his fears were things like being forgotten, and memory loss. He doubted he would ever get the nerve to tell the older sspyno that he was one of the physical fears. It didn’t help that this was the first time that they were meeting in person. He felt a reassuring pat on his shoulder from Jim.
After what felt like an eternity waiting for Tal’ven to get up to the altar. The officiator, a male taurian with fir that reminded Jacob of a cookie and cream milkshake, started the ceremony. “Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to celebrate the union of Jacob Groen and Tal’ven of the Blood Vipers clan…”
The rest of the ceremony went by in a blur, until it came to the part where they would give their vows. Tal’ven decided to go first.
“When I first met you, I thought that you were the biggest jerk in the galaxy. You were mean and rude, and you made me question what I was willing to do for a paycheck.” That got a chuckle out of the crowd. “But, spending the last year with you has made me realize that you are actually a sweet, caring person who will do anything for the people that you love, and I feel honored that you would be willing to include me in that group. I promise to be there for you in all things and support you until my dying breath. I will move mountains for you.”
Jacob wiped a tear from his eye. “Thank you. I really mean that. When I first met you, I was in a bad place. I thought you were the next in a long line of government mandated babysitters that would do nothing more than fulfil the obligations of their job. But you were different. You actually cared, and you never stopped caring. I don’t think I can thank you enough, or ever repay you for helping me out of that deep, dark hole that I dug for myself. I promise to support you in all things, and to be the best man that I can. I will do this until my dying days.”
The officiator took this as his cue. “By the power vested in me by the government of the station, I pronounce you husband and wife.” He turned to Jacob. “You may now kiss the bride.”

I have had a lifelong complicated relationship with my mother who has been an addict for going on 20 years and is riddled with undiagnosed mental health issues (one of which i suspect to be BPD with comorbid NPD). While we have had some positive moments throughout the years we have faced even worse traumatic ones from her untreated addiction and mental health, recently our relationship has taken a down turn for the worst and I have attempted to regain my sanity by drawing boundaries around communication as it was becoming too consuming. However upon me trying to draw these boundaries they have repeatedly been disregarded. My approach after this has been to save my words and energy and jump to blocking. Upon me doing this she has been sending relatives/flying monkeys to message me in attempt to get me to communicate with her using the line “she’s just worried about me and wants to know that i’m okay” as a manipulation tactic for sympathy and so she can remain the victim at all costs. I have unblocked her saying I am fine then blocked again, something I only did to ease my other relatives from her pestering them. Fast forward to now 2 days later, she has now taken to calling me off blocked numbers leaving voicemails saying to call her back.
When this change in relationship first started I didn’t think of NC being the solution but with where I am now I honestly don’t know what other option there is? I have asked nearly 4 times in the last 2 months to have my boundaries respected and they haven’t been. How do you know when enough is enough? How do you know when it’s reasonable to give them another chance?
She needs serious mental health care and rehab, the emotional incest and enmeshment is so incredibly unhealthy for me and a dynamic that i’m not interested in having in my life. In the past I have let her “off the hook” for so much, mainly because i feel bad about her addiction and struggles but i feel like i am finally seeing all her manipulation tactics for what they really are and i no longer can unsee them. In the past she would apologize after issues so I also saw this as her being willing to try and improve, but really all it is an empty word with no meaning behind it that she can use to manipulate me and rope me back into forgiving her.

We have about 200 windows servers, 180/200 in Azure... other 20 are in offices on VMware hypervisors.

All servers are puppies, each serve their own purpose and aren't redundant. They need a maintenance window for patching due to data load schedules, client demands, etc.
We use Azure automation and update schedules for patching servers.
non critical 2 days after patch Tuesday, and critical a few days after that (to split things up in case Microsoft releases something that will take us down).
We have a maintenance window of 3 hours, scheduled with the entire company where one engineer babysits the servers two times a month. Marks any failures and manually remediates (usually about 10 failures of some sort, usually resolved by manually running the update)
For third party applications, we use automox. This patches things automatically like google chrome, adobe, whatever isn't covered under OS level patching. These don't need reboots.
For major vulnerabilities, we have reports from our vuln scanner and take those on as projects. For instance, Tableau having a critical vuln and needing to go up a version.
This whole process takes 2 engineers (sysadmins) a good bit of time during the month to get everything 100% compliant.
Boss is saying that we need to do more with less, and that we can't devote our only sysadmins to this task. We need to find a more scalable and automated way to handle this. He wants a write-up on how we are going to 'fix it'.
Am i insane, or is everything pretty streamlined? I don't know of another company that does things with less manpower and more servers, am I crazy?
workstations are reporting to Azure as well and are in update rings, and the users can snooze the update but sometimes something breaks on a laptop and the helpdesk need to manually remediate.

I have about 22k in CC debt. All of which besides 2 cards are pretty old (2020 and older) All but those two of the accounts were opened when I lived with my ex and we shared money and expenses. The two most recent accounts were opened in 2021 when I was single. When I opened these cards, I made a dumb mistake and used my mother's income as well as mine on the applications. My income was pretty low due to health problems. I was 28 and young and dumb and dealing with a mountain of issues. Looking back I know I shouldn't have used my mom's income. I wasn't thinking about having to file Bankruptcy in the future and I was living with my mom at the time. I know now her income shouldn't have been counted. I had a high credit score at the time as well. I don't know the exact amount I put but the inflation could be upwards of 25 thousand. The two accounts I opened are credit cards. One holds a balance of $1,600 ( Wells Fargo) and the other $4,500.. (Citi Bank). Being these were opened in 2021, I know they will see my low income on my Statement of financial affairs and if they compare it to my application trouble could arise. I know they could object. I know nobody can give me a definite answer, but what are the chances these creditors would put the money and effort in to object these small of debts and check my original applications? I know a lawyer would be helpful in this as well. I'm trying to pull the funds. In the meantime options from other with experience would be really appreciated.

The advance of the amendment was being slow, and getting it to pass the US House of Representatives was not at all easy, while Douglass and the Liberals held an obvious and clear majority the President struggled to get his Party to stand unanimously behind the passage of the bill, with a minority of them either voting against or voting present, that made things harder, and while they gained support from some Federalists they still were trying to ensure the passage of something that had only been made law in some States, which obviously showed the fact that many still opposed it.
President Douglass could count on Sumner to do his best to sway enough votes, but that was nothing more than a blind faith on the Massachusetts Senator, it was hard to know whether or not Charles could actually get Southern Liberals to vote in support for female suffrage, as many of them were still more conservative than the more radical parts of the Party's Northern wing, even if there were some Suffragists from the South who Sumner wished could do enough as to sway the vote in the region. There was also the need to sway Federalist support, Webster had presented himself in support of it, but not his entire party was supportive of it, just like the Liberals they also had to deal with some members who opposed such radical change.
Outside of Congress the likes of Sojourner Truth, Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan Anthony were calling for a major meeting in Seneca Falls, just like 21 years ago, Lucy Stone has even told the New York Tribune about the upcoming Convention being the biggest convention in the history of the suffragist movement, and that Frances Ellen Watkins Harper has managed to get many African-American women to travel to the town in New York and that there may be over 3000 attendees, more than triple of what the Suffragists had managed to get in Worcester 18 years prior, she has also said they will start a national campaign for the petition to the US Goverment for the passage of the amendment. It's hard to know how sucessful the Women's Loyal National League will be on their work, although a few State legislatures are thinking about passing their own suffrage laws, regardless of what the Senate does now.
It's now time to see if the President will succed in this front, or if he will fail on this Herculean task.
