Hi! Sorry if this is a stupid question. I received an email with a job offer. First there was an email from ZipRecruiter notifying me that I didn’t get a job that I had applied for, then a second email from an “independent lawyer” with a new job offer. He stated that he appreciated my interest in the job offer but it was given to someone else and that he had a new offer for me. He was explicit in what the job entails, potential pay, and benefits. He requested that I resend my name, phone number, and address. Before I did that I wanted to find more information. I tried to find more information, although nothing comes up. The email is a personal email it seems. He also texted me from a phone number, which I was unable to link to anyone. I am probably being paranoid but I want to make sure that it is safe. Is there a way to ask for more information regarding his background before accepting?

B4 Associate working in tax tech, MCOL, make about $63k a year. This is my first job out of college, and have been there a year now. I like what I do but there is a lot of stress for numerous reasons, I can tolerate it but it’s way more stress than I’d like to have in my day to day life.
A recruiter has reached out to me and there’s an industry tax tech job available that I meet the qualifications for and after reviewing myself it seems like I’d be doing similar work to what I do now. Salary range for the position is between $90-120k a year hybrid work environment and about a 45 minute drive from my house.
Is this too good to be true? Do I go through the interview process and see what happens? Should I hang on longer at B4 and just ignore the opportunity? I’m just unsure of what to do. Today I had my second encounter with trying to locate something that should logically exist and does in fact exist on paper on paper. A catch basin near the corner of a building where storm water takes about a 45° turn. Our first attempt to locate it was with a metal detector and a trenching shovel. Got it singing but couldn’t hit anything. I had the idea to check county GIS map where they have nearly complete published records of stormwater pipes and structures. They had NEZD and an invert from 2001. Coming off of existing control set by a different surveyor and the control being used for the project we are working on yields a probable hit with a cut of nearly 1ft to the rim. Dig dig dig and check again, fill 0.15, several jabs with the shovel and no hits with the metal detector tell me it’s not there. I come up with a Hail Mary idea, resection off of two other catch basins with published NEZD and try that (i don’t need to be exact just close enough to find it and get shots for the CAD techs and engineers). Punch everything in and I hit about 1ft off of my previous attempt, similar cut. Dig dig dig and check again, cut another 0.3 so I dig a bit more and sure enough I hit a grate that had been covered by soil and mulch and roots for who knows how long.
A few months ago I had to try and find a sewer manhole and had plans showing where it is supposed to be. Any other nannies feel like they can’t do anything “just to be nice” or else it becomes part of your responsibilities?
For example, the kitchen trash is full and I could very easily take it out but I know that if I do it once I’ll be expected to do it all the time. It’s happened too many times with too many nanny families for me to chance it.

I really hope Hoyo notices that double banners arent nearly enough at this rate, otherwise we are regularly gonna see wait times of over a year in versions 4.x and beyond...
For reference, Eula wait time has been over 500 days and Hu Tao holds the current record of time between reruns at 441 days.

Hi! I want to preface what I’m about to ramble on about and say that I do understand that I’m in a good situation compared to many people my age. I do feel fortunate to be in this position.
However, at this moment, I am very unfulfilled with my major and career choice. I graduated last May with a co-major in Communications and English with a minor in Marketing. I thought these would be employable majors for someone who didn’t really know what they wanted to do. However, I have come to realize that my major was too broad, resulting in a lack of specific or captivating interests on my resume. I’ve been working for a "start-uppish" private equity firm as a marketing coordinator for the last year and kind of hate it. Since I work remotely and don't have anyone with marketing experience overseeing my work, I feel that I'm missing out on valuable career development opportunities. My boss is 70 and doesn’t understand how social media operates and it’s like going to war with him once a week. Not to mention, I was juggling a full schedule (40 hrs) and only making an hourly wage of about 16/hr. Anyway, with some new licensing issues with LinkedIn, we mutually agreed to shorten my hours to part-time.
This brings me to my next point. Currently, I'm undergoing ground school training to become a pilot. My dad is a captain at United, and I've found the initial in-flight experiences enjoyable so far. I appreciate various aspects of this potential career, such as having clear objectives and goals to work towards every day. It's different from marketing, where you constantly worry if people will show up to your promoted event or not. However, I do have reservations because I tend to overthink things. What if I turn out to be mediocre at flying? And as a woman, what if I want to start a family someday? Will a partner be okay with a mother who isn't at home every day? I guess I kind of have to think about these things now, which is kind of wild to me.
This all brings me to my main problem in the first place. Learning to fly is SO expensive. While I have some savings, with my current job becoming part-time, I need to explore other opportunities to cover my expenses in the meantime. It doesn't have to be a glamorous job; I just need something that helps me meet my current financial obligations. I am currently living at home because I can't afford rent and flying lessons. Should I search for multiple part-time jobs, or should I look for a full-time job? Most of the job interviews I'm getting are for sales-related positions, but I already know I won't excel in that field. If I'm not enjoying marketing, I can't imagine doing well in sales.
I apologize for the lengthy message, and I'm unsure if anyone will take the time to read it or if it even makes sense. But I genuinely appreciate your attention and guidance regardless. Thank you.

I've been running my own homebrew campaigns for over 5 years now. I've had basically the same group since day 1. I'm interested in running this campaign for a new group of players on a separate night and I wanted to gauge interest as I know how difficult it can be to find a game, especially when you don't have experience and as a teacher by trade, I would love to bring new people into a game I love.
I don't want to give away too much about the campaign and the world in a public post (I don't want my current players freaking out if they see this) but I'd be happy to answer questions through DMs/the survey.
What I can divulge is that the emphasis of my campaign is storytelling, worldbuilding, immersion and HOPEFULLY moments that can instill feelings and emotions for my players. DND for myself is basically my only creative outlet as I think it's safe for me to say that I'm not really the typical player.
What I'm looking for in my players is the ability to contribute, make decisions, have thoughts and emotions besides KILL that THING and to make this game an enjoyable place for others participating. I will provide direction and options, roleplay avenues, terrible voices and hopefully memorable characters but it's your job as players to decide what to do with the info provided and there's nothing I hate more than to constantly ask "What do you want to do next?"

Ya title not that great but please listen before you decide my fate.
I female (16) and my step mom (40) don’t get along. When I don’t do something right I will get yelled at when she does I will fidget and avoid eye contact. I’m autistic so it’s really uncomfortable to make eye contact. My step mom knows this but makes fun of me and mimics me when I do.
I get overwhelmed easily and have had a few meltdowns in the past year cause I was being overstimulated. When I do I try and ask to take a break or let me calm down but she just gets more upset and I often will run to the washroom and lock my self in so I can calm down. I remember having a very bad day and wanting to go home but my step mom refused to let me call my mom or even talk to her.
All that being said I don’t see her as a mother at one point I did but not anymore. She used to take me everywhere before my sibling was born and she started taking her everywhere. I understand that cause she is her first born child. But then she would include my dad and leave me at home well they went on trips. I was okay with that just kinda sad cause I only see my dad every other weekend and felt like she was taking my dad away.
My dad has told me many times he is sorry that she does this and doesn’t take me (before you come for his throat my step mom makes most of the money he dropped out of high school so doesn’t have the greatest job and spends it on our “father daughter date nights” he takes me out to dinner and to do stuff)
My step grandma(? I think that’s what you would call her) Anyway she used to spoil me rotten and I was so grateful and told her she didn’t have to. Now when my half sister came obviously all her love and attention was to her now and I understand that 100% nothing wrong with that. But now when I do get cards from my step grandma they aren’t even signed I’m not going to lie it kinda hurts but it fine I can deal with it.
Now when Mother’s Day came along I just put “Have a good Mother’s Day Lily from Annie (fake names)” when she read that she gave me a weird look and said why didn’t you just put mom? I didn’t say anything and she went on to say I have know you since you were six you should be calling me mom by now. I said I don’t feel comfortable calling you mom sorry. She got really upset and stayed in her bedroom the rest of the day. Im feeling bad about it now so AITA?

Hello Reddit! I'm starting a fresh D&D 5e campaign and looking for dedicated players to join the adventure. I love introducing players to DnD and am primarily interested in new players committed to a long-term engagement. Some slight experience won't exclude you but longtime players and veterans would not be a fit for the pace and vibe I am running. We will be doing one of the Starter Set modules as a way to introduce people to the 5e system.
The game itself is set to begin in the next 2 weeks, with sessions taking place at 8pm EST on Fridays, occurring weekly and lasting each session lasting between 4-5 hours. We'll use Discord and DnD Beyond to play. I like to adapt my games a bit to try unique elements and character-backstories for a more immersive experience, aiming to create a friendly, engaging, and enjoyable atmosphere where players actively engage in roleplay and invest in their characters.
As the DM, I value collaborative storytelling and emphasize roleplay and character development over constant combat. Sessions may vary between RP or intrigue and combat although I still feel most aspects are represented. While I mostly adhere to the rules, I embrace the "Rule of Cool" for added enjoyment. My goal is to create a fulfilling experience through captivating story arcs, character growth, and friendly banter, sprinkled with humor and shenanigans.

I was approached today by the manager of a pub where my abusive ex is currently working. He worked there back when things went down as well, so I know his manager and the owner a bit. She told me she'd heard some rumors and wanted to find out if they were true.
I told here about some of the things he did to me and how he would hunt for women in his workplace and how he would get them drunk to the point of no longer being able to defend themselves.
She asked some REALLY specific questions about what happened behind closed doors. So it seems his behavior is becoming more violent with his current girlfriend and potentially their child. So we're gonna team up and get CPS involved etc.
Feels gooed to finally have other people see him for who he is. He's def gonna loose his job over this and his continuous lying and manipulating.

Similar to another post floating around here, figuring I'd see what parts managers who may frequent this sub think
I've worked the parts counter for many years now and most of that was at a Nissan dealer with CDK on the West Coast being paid hourly. About a year ago now I moved to Texas and started a job at a BMW dealership out here. It took about a month for me to get into gear and be shown a bit of the ropes about this dealerships processes and such, as well as familiarizing myself with the catalog before being the top salesmen month after month.
When I say "top salesman" we are paid on department gross so it's not like we're competing with each other directly, but I still cant help but feel I'm doing something these other two dudes are not doing considering the margin difference in sales - in April, for instance, I moved 100k more than both of my coworkers who have worked here for years and outside of that it's typically always a good 50-60k over. Again, where we may not be competing against one another straight up, when it comes to making the most money in parts for this dealership and moving the most stuff, it is me who is doing it and with good accuracy as well. On that point it's also worth mentioning that I typically never have a lot of outstanding SOR's, the stuff I order gets put on the cars or picked up by customers.
I'm making decent money here - more than on the West Coast, we have a good corner on the market being the only BMW dealer in the area, but it's not quite what the manager advertised when it comes to salary - close, but not quite there.
If there are any PM's who frequent this sub, would you consider this achievement, going from no BMW experience to being the top salesman every month, raise worthy after a year?

I was the head of the marketing team for a music tech startup for a solid three years. However, in November, I unfortunately was a part of a layoff. I was lucky to quickly land a freelancing gig with a different tech music startup, where I've been doing social media management. Initially, they promised me a full-time position, but it's been six months now, and the promise remains unfulfilled.
While the financial aspect is stable since I'm making the same amount of money as before, I can't help but feel like I've taken a step backward in my career. The work environment is undoubtedly better in this new role, but it's highly siloed, and others on the team are incredibly hard to reach. These factors have led to a lack of motivation and a sense of procrastination, which is completely unlike me.
I'm fully aware of how fortunate I am to even have a job, considering the current circumstances. The guilt of not being grateful for the opportunity weighs heavily on me. However, recently, I've found myself completely engrossed in my passion for gardening. Every spare minute I have is spent learning about plants and design, and I can't help but wonder if this could be something I could pursue as a career.
The idea of transitioning into garden and landscape design is both exciting and daunting. On one hand, I'm afraid of giving up something I should be grateful for, especially considering the privileged position I'm in, making a decent living and doing someone's dream job. On the other hand, the thought of being able to work on something I'm truly passionate about fills me with a sense of fulfillment. I do have a BFA in fashion design so I do have some experience with design processes but obviously this is an entirely new field.
How do I move forward from here? Should I take the leap and explore a career in garden and landscape design, or should I keep my somewhat stable job in marketing? Any insights or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Since it has been 1 year that I started golfing next month I thought it was nice to reflect back on the past year. But I start to feel I'm a bit behind in terms of progress, but everyone in my surroundings keep saying I do great... So I rather have some honest feedback from some strangers.
June 2022 I started with a 2 day beginners course, and I immediately was hooked! I also had a good connection with the pro so I decided I want to follow more lessons with him. Since I had some success with my own company and I really need to start working out more before I get a heart attack when I'm 40 (I never did a workout or played sports in my life) I decided that I was going to play golf with an unlimited budget. Got some clubs fitted, splurged on clothes and a S62 watch and booked a standing weekly appointment with my pro. I also joined my local business club so I could play unlimited for ''free''...
The last year I played 3/4 rounds a week, got private lessons every week and have an additional training session on the driving range.
When I started I already expected to be terrible since I'm extremely out of shape, but I slowly starting to get the hang of it. I score consistently in the 90's from the middle tee, according to my local course charts that should put me at around HDCP 35, my garmin tells me I'm at 32.9. At first that sounds like some really good progression after less than a year of golf, but considering I splurged more than 8k EUR on this sport so far and I'm training my ass off I'm starting to feel I'm actually REALLY terrible at this sport. My pro keeps insisting I'm making very good progress, but yeah I pay about half his mortgage so of course he's cheering me on...
So please, give me some honest feedback about my progression. And I would like to hear more ''first year'' stories to compare myself.
