And I still had the BEST day!!!
For about 3 days before our wedding the forecast was calling for rain, but it kept changing so I held out hope. My (now husband) kept saying “don’t stress, you can’t change the weather” but let me tell you…I was stressing. Checking the forecast every hour and feeling so bummed out. On the morning of, it was cloudy but looked bright enough that I was still hopeful. I really really hoped the storm would blow past us. But as I was getting ready, it just got darker and windier, and eventually started lightly raining. I accepted that I was going to have a rainy wedding, but I was NOT prepared for the torrential downpour that was about to start…
My photographer reassured me that cloudy conditions make for great photos and I had no choice but to put full faith into her and roll with it.
About 10 mins before our ceremony was going to start, it started to rain and when I tell you it rained, I mean biblical, monsoon, heaviest rain I have EVER experienced. And you know what? It didn’t matter! I had the BEST time, we said our vows, we cried and kissed and laughed and danced and our photographer captured the most incredible shots. Looking back, I can’t picture it having gone any other way. It was perfect.
So for anyone who is stressing about the weather, I am here to tell you that you will have the best day, whatever the weather, and the only thing you can do is embrace it and have fun!!!

Right so we've all seen the leech barometeknow they crawl up when its gonna rain But have yall noticed they point in the direction the storms coming from? I noticed this while a bit blitzed and seeing them all pointing in the same direction

It seems like in more and more areas, we have a glut of solar energy during the day, and high demand without solar production in the evening. There's a big movement for grid scale storage and for home batteries to accompany home solar. But most of my power usage is my heat pump. I know thermal storage systems for heat pumps exist, but where are the affordable home systems? In the summer, I'd love my heat pump to run when the sun is out, storing the cold to be used when the sun goes down. And on the hot side, we could cool water at night to take the heat from the heat pump during the day. It can be made more efficient by being integrated with weather forecasts. It's not overly complicated, we just need commercial systems that will do it.
Is there anything on the horizon?

This was the last week of school, and I am in south-eastern VA. My elementary school (I teach 4th) was supposed to have a bunch of fun, outdoor activities yesterday, today, and tomorrow. We had to move our picnic inside today, which I think was the right call given that we have many asthmatic students and staff (me included) and lots of others with health concerns. Here's the interesting thing though:
Our school nurse was the one who sent out an email to all staff saying "No outdoor activities, not even recess". Luckily our school has good ventilation and the air quality for our area was not as bad as it is in NY, PA, or even Northern VA. I just find it weird that it was our own school nurse, not the district as a whole, deciding to make the call to do everything inside. We have gotten no direction from anyone really about what we should be doing in this, let's face it, really weird weather.
So how has your district given you guidance? Or has their been none?

I haven’t travelled much at all aside from Florida. I am looking for a tropical, luxury (or just average nice) resort for a couple in late 20’s. I was hooked on Atlantis Bahamas but looking at the forecast it’s very rainy there in June. For the amount I’m spending I want the best chance of good weather 😭
Anyone been to Bahamas in June? Or can recommend anywhere tropical for end of this month. I’m reading December-April is best for most islands but I need a little vacation asap.
In Canada so I’m looking for somewhere that’s under a 5 hour flight if possible. Appreciate any recommendations!
