2023.05.31 14:42 MisterDifficult271 Too soon guys: An Obituary.

TL;DR: Talking Heads singer Kurdt “Thomas Yorke” Cobain dead at 27 x 2. New Order, World Peace and his huge songs catalog.
That was originally a comment, but I need to discuss that matter.
TOO SOON GUYS. It’s been decades since then, but it’s still a delicate tragedy what we’re talking about.

OBITUARY: Cocaine dead at 27 x 2 or something.
“NIRWANNA” leader Kurdt “Thomas Yorke” Kobain died by suicide by jumping into a pool with lots of cables used to record live covers of songs by the name of said name; in a beach dating program by MTV.
Kurd is survived by Daughter, Mother, Dad (NOT FATHER) and many other family progenitors that nobody really cares about.
More importantly, Kurdt is survived by his four band members; who effective now create the novel band New Order.
Kurdt was the most prolific musician of all time, being the brilliant mind behind all #1 songs, from aliases ranging from Billie Eilish to “Weird Al” Yankovic.
Ah, and he’s the son of Frank Sinatra with Marlon Brando (Who are apparently alive? Based on the information above.)
There will be a tribute concert in the deceased’s birthplace in Compton, CA.
The center of the concert will start in Compton, stretching to the east through all US, crossing the Atlantic and invading Europe; and to the west through the Pacific, capturing all islands, Siberia, China and Indian sub continent. Both fronts will circumvent Earth and join forces in the Middle East, who will now fight over OK Computer x KID A, though the reduction in excess deaths is not confirmed, perhaps even causing more destruction. But don’t worry! No one cares.
South America and Africa won’t participate in the World Tour, as always.
Summing up to an impressive total of 4 billion people (while the other 4 billion wonder what the fuck is happening); the event will be the largest gathering of united fans and bystanders, shaping a new era of world peace, with no more borders and the only currency “Head Coin”, with the legal tender equivalent of one head given.
Confirmed songs include:
-Love Will Tear Us Apart
-Viva La vida
-Supermassive Black Hole
-There Is a Light That Never Goes Out
-Reptilia
-Dramamine/Trailer Trash (they couldn’t pick one)
-Good Morning Captain
-Linger
-Waiting Room
-Never Meant
-Coffee & TV
-Carry the Zero
-In Between Days
-Dig Me Out
-Demons Sing Love Songs
-Pat’s Trick (less known one sure but they love Kurdt’s woman falsetto.)
-Short Skirt/Long Jacket
-Harder. Better. Faster. Jonny.
-Teenage Riot
-Where Is My Mind/Here Comes Your Man/Vamos (Puñeta!)
-Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away)
-Needle In the Hay
-Steak and Black Onions
-Cannonball
-Here Comes the Rome Plows
-Nailed to the Blank Spot
-Little Fury Things
-Hooch
-Party Rock Anthem
-AND MAAAAAAAAAAAAAANY MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORE!
But enough of the brightest future that awaits us. Now ending this obituary:
Kurdt will be always remembered, his weird eye, his crazy kitten smile, the chicken voices in his head.
His wealth will be dedicated to his charity NGO “Jim Morrison Haters for the end of the Noel-Liam Gallagher conflict.”
His remains will be cremated and the ashes scattered over Jim Morrison’s grave.

2023.05.30 18:14 Luxniom 10 Days / 11 Nights Tokyo Trip Report (5/5 to 5/15) - Asakusa to Kyoto to Shinjuku/Shibuya

Original itinerary here for reference. We planned this trip primarily with Halal food in mind, along with regular sight-seeing locations + shopping for Switch games, clothes, and souvenirs
Overall notes / Takeaways * I rate our trip a 9/10. It was a great time with the authentic halal Japanese food, seeing all the cool sights & places, and experiencing a very nice environment + culture.
First part of the trip - East side of Tokyo: Asakusa FRI 5/5 Arrival HND arrival was around 2pm, and we got to the hotel around 6:30pm. From there: We were able to start off our trip with Ramen for dinner @ Ayam-ya Halal Ramen Tokyo –> Senjo-jii and Nakamise Street at night (which was not crowded at all at night)
Notable Highlights Part 1:
Notable Mid-light:
Second part of the trip: Kyoto * Mon May 8 continued: Hotel arrival around 4pm –> Downtown Kyoto shopping (Surugaya) and clothes @ Coco → 7/11 dinner (taxi here would have been really helpful to go to once of the local restaurants, as I started getting foot pains)
Notable Highlights Part 2: * Experiencing all the nature on WED was our favorite part of this portion, especially the rivers! We did not realize the “20 minute walk” would end up a 45 minute hike as we were not prepared, but it was a very fun going up and taking breaks at all the stops.
Last part of the trip: Shibuya/Shinjuku * Thurs May 11 continued: Reach Shibuya @ 6:30pm → Shibuya Scramble once –> Walk to Yakiniku @ GYUMON –> back to Shibuya Scramble and see Hachiko + Tower Record –> grab Chestnuts –> Starbucks at night with upper view of Shibuya crossing
Notable Highlights Part 3:
Noteable Mid-light: Harajuka and Takeshita street were cool to window browse, but we didn’t find anything we actually wanted to purchase here. It made me realize, like our second time at Akihabara, that window shopping isn’t as fun as actual shopping. -Aside from the Gundam @ Odaiba, we didn’t get too excited about anything else here. If we visited here first / sooner, we may have had a better time (along with keeping an eye out for more Gundam merch earlier throughout the trip). There was a nearby amusement center that was on our original plan to visit too. But at this point, I think we ran out of gas.
Notable Low-light: * The last hotel for me, especially with its location being furthest out from nearest station and not being as nice as the first two hotel.
Other notes
*more review/input on food commented in original plan here

2023.05.30 17:55 ThatsFakeDawg As a local, here are some tips to have the best day possible at [Kings Island]!

Rides:
It is very easy to ride all the coasters here in one day, and that is mostly thanks to the ops. I personally don’t think a fast lane is necessary, especially on a weekday. However, there are still a couple rides that can get nasty waits: Flight of Fear, Invertigo, and Backlot Stunt Coaster. Plan your trip accordingly.
If you want to cool off on a hot day, Congo Falls almost never has a line and is a guaranteed soaker, this is the best option of KI’s three water rides in my opinion.
Here’s a quick list of rides that are worth checking out if you’re interested: Drop Tower, Delirium, Windseeker, Sol Spin and the Kings Island and Miami Valley Railroad.
Food:
Kings Island has tons of good food options. I’d recommend eating at the Miami River Brewhouse, Coney Barbecue, Skyline Chili, Grain & Grill or the Chicken Shack.
My favorite thing to eat here is the blue ice cream, the stands in Action Zone and Planet Snoopy can get long lines, but Ralph’s Ice Cream across from Shake Rattle and Roll never does.
Park Expectations:
The fireworks show will close The Beast 15 minutes before it starts, you can wait in the queue while the show is going on, but you’ll miss the fireworks show for your Beast night ride (Mystic Timbers is a better night ride anyway).
Planet Snoopy is a very good kids area if you’re visiting with kids, they have lots of quality family attractions, some of which adults can ride too.
The theming is solid for a regional park and it’s very well maintained. The park layout is very simple and easy to follow, but The Bat and The Beast can be a little tricky to find.
I don’t know how helpful this was, but I hope it at least gave you a little bit of extra information for your visit. Thanks for reading and have a Kings Island Best Day!

Max is eliminated in an 8-6-1 vote
He is not able to finish all the pasta and is automatically eliminated. He makes a cry of despair, saying that he ate all that food for nothing, then weeps. He tells Ella to win & gets on the Boat of Losers. Ella is happy that she will be competing with her friend, & Jasmine is the same.
The episode opens with Chris stating that this is going to be the final and most dramatic episode of the show. After eight weeks of fierce competition, the competition will finally come to an end. Two campers remain and only one will be left at the end of the day, with a check for $100,000.
In the confessional, the two finalists voice their thoughts in the confessional.
Ella says that she has had an amazing time here making new friends & being with the nature. She says that she has made many new friends, gushing when she says Beardo. She hopes to be remembered for her cheerfulness & love of animals.
Jasmine says that while she's glad to be here, it certainly hasn't been easy. She says that while most of everyone was good, some people were annoying, some weird, & some just plain vile. But she says that she's happy to have made the friends that she has & wants to be known for her kind but competitive nature.
Chris welcomes back the campers who were voted off and tells them to sit in marked bleachers to show support towards the camper they want to win the competition. Scott, Scarlett, Zoey, Brick, Anne Maria, Harold, & Owen all sit in support of Jasmine. Meanwhile, Staci, Sierra, Cameron, Sadie, Beardo, Dawn, Katie, Trent, Izzy, Geoff, Sky, Max, & Alejandro sit in support of Ella. Alejandro is pissed, as he has a black eye, a shaved head, & a drawn-on face. When Jasmine sees this, she snickers, which turns into full blown laughter which everyone participates in besides Alejandro, who looks as if he is about to explode. In the confessional, Alejandro says "Mocked! Ridiculed! For the crime of having a strategy!
Harold asks how he feels about his girlfriend making the finale, & Beardo says that he's happy for her. Chris then asks the finalists to tell the other campers what they would do with the money if they won the competition and why they think they deserve it. Jasmine says that she will spend the money on college & investing in her cage fighting school/flower shop. Ella says that if she wins, she will donate C$ 25,000 of her winnings to charity, then share the winnings with everyone. Owen & Scott move to her bench for completely different reasons. Scott asks if Beardo is just there because he wants the money, which makes Beardo angry. He says that while Ella is his girlfriend, he loves her charity plan & the fact that she has a heart of gold. Besides Scott, everyone "awws" at this, & Harold gives Beardo a high five.
Chris then announces the final challenge: the Rejected Olympic relay. First, Ella must wear a chicken hat while Jasmine must wear a cow hat. They must climb a flagpole and grab a flag from the top, which makes Jasmine confident. Next, they must cross a three-hundred meter balance beam over a gorge carrying an eagle's egg. Ella remarks that it doesn't seem too bad, but Chris reveals that man-eating sharks are waiting for them in the lake below if they fall off. The last part of the race is a long-distance run to the finish line, where the first person to cross wins. The race begins as Beardo accompanies Ella, while Zoey & Harold accompany Jasmine.
Jasmine tries to climb her flagpole but is slipping due to Alejandro greasing it. Zoey rips a piece of her shirt off to clear it away, which Jasmine thanks Zoey for. She tells her to keep going, as Ella has just grabbed her flag. Both girls hit the ground, & start running.
In a brief flashback, Chris is attempting to test the balance beam stunt with a new intern because all of the other interns had died already. He starts to cross the beam, but Chris distracts him, and he falls to the man-eating sharks that promptly devour him. Despite that, Chris believes the stunt is safe enough.
Jasmine reaches the gorge, with Zoey & Harold heading to the other side. Harold asks Chris why they need to carry an eagle's egg, getting no response. Ella reaches the gorge, & Beardo enacts a whole crowd of cheering which makes Ella blush. As the two cross the gorge, they are suddenly attacked by incensed eagle parents, who attempt to get their eggs back. Everyone is petrified, until Beardo makes a sound effect of fish jumping in the river way below. The eagles swoop down, eager for a meal. When everyone gets past the gorge, they cheer on Beardo before running again.
At the finish line, Scott worries that Ella will lose, which means he won't get any money. Alejandro says that he put laxative laced cupcakes marked for her from "Zoey" which should be kicking in any minute if she ate any. Sierra hears this, & throws him into the confessional, locking him shut with a tree branch on the outside. As Alejandro is yelling to be let free, Staci gives Sierra a fist bump. Max has an idea, but he needs Chris's megaphone. Izzy says she'll go ahead & grab it.
The finalists near the finish, tired out. Beardo & Harold are crawling, with Zoey still running, but tired. Izzy comes back with the megaphone, along with Chris's giant fan that he uses for his hair. Izzy uses the fan which causes her hair to fly back. Izzy asks how she looks, & Owen says that she looks great. As they share a kiss, Ella & Jasmine near the finish, & one of the girls wins Total Drama Island.
Vote for Jasmine or Ella to win, & feel free to come up with any plot points!

JBL interrupts and tells Rey that his win at the Royal Rumble was a fluke and it should really be him in the main event of WrestleMania. JBL challenges Rey to put his title shot on the line but Rey doesn’t want to do it. JBL however goads Rey into it by calling a coward and slapping him. Rey says if beating JBL is going to prove his win at the Rumble wasn’t a fluke then fine, he’ll do it. Rey Mysterio wins and keeps his dream alive.)
World Heavyweight Championship:
Randy Orton (c) vs The Undertaker
(After the Royal Rumble, Randy Orton celebrates his victory over Chris Benoit and says that he’s going to WrestleMania as the World Heavyweight Champion! He tells the WWE universe that he’s going to forever edge his name in history when he walks in and out of WrestleMania with the World Heavyweight Championship. Orton continues to run his mouth until a familiar sound goes off… GONG! The Undertaker appears, Chokeslams his bitter rival and signals that he wants the World Heavyweight Championship. The Legend Killer demands that The Undertaker be suspended since he could’ve injured him as well as prevented him from competing at WrestleMania. Teddy Long instead tells Orton that not only will The Undertaker not be suspended but he’ll be defending his World Heavyweight Championship against The Deadman at No Way Out! Orton is furious and says this shouldn’t be happening since he was done with Taker after Armageddon, claims WrestleMania deserves the future of the company going into the event as champion and fears that might not happen if The Undertaker injures him. Orton tries to get out of the match by pulling all sorts of tactics that don’t work. During the match, Orton accidentally dropkicks the referee. The Undertaker then Chokeslams the champion and gets ready to hit him with a Tombstone Piledriver to finish this off until Kurt Angle appears from the crowd and delivers an Angle Slam to The Phenom! Angle then puts Orton on top of The Undertaker and with the referee regaining consciousness, he makes the count. 1,2..3. Last Man Standing Match:
Ric Flair vs Triple H
(The battle between two former best friends and all time greats happens at The Grandest Stage of Them All. Ric Flair says that Triple H turning on him and taking pride as if he ended his career is what drove him to come back and cost Triple H what matters most to him, the WWE Championship. Flair says The Game has always wanted to be Ric Flair and for as great as he is which he’s known for 4 years how great he is, he’ll never be The Nature Boy! Ric Flair challenges Triple H to a match at WrestleMania 22 and The Game accepts. Triple H says while the old man’s career was dying, he revived him by creating Evolution, kept Ric Flair relevant when he no longer was and saw him as a father figure until Ric started becoming a thorn on his side, a distraction he realised he had to bury. Triple H says Flair is a clear symbol of the past who’s hanging on for dear life, living in a fantasy land and he promises to destroy him once and for all. Triple H asks to up the stakes and make it a Last Man Standing match which Flair accepts. Triple H vows to leave Flair in a bloody mess, put him down for good and leave WrestleMania victorious. Flair says he may bleed but he’s bled enough to the point Triple H will have to beat the holy hell out of him to keep him down. In a bloody and brutal affair, Triple H finishes the match off by smashing a bloody Flair over the head with his sledgehammer to win the match. After the match, Triple H looks down at a battered Ric Flair but actually nods in appreciation to his former mentor. The Game hints at a face turn 👀.)
Women’s Championship:
Trish Stratus (c) vs Mickie James
(After months of being stalked with a lot of creepy vibes as well as being attacked numerous times, Trish Stratus has had enough and wants to face Mickie James at WrestleMania. Same story, same build and same match. Mickie James wins the Women’s Championship clean to end Trish’s long reign.)
Hardcore Match:
Shawn Michaels & Mick Foley vs Vince & Shane McMahon
(After months of being told that he screwed Bret Hart who’s entering the Hall of Fame the night before this event, being told he’s not the same man and being cost title matches, opportunities and the Royal Rumble, Shawn Michaels snaps and kicks Vince McMahon in the face the night after the Royal Rumble. Vince retaliates the week after when Shane McMahon returns and The McMahons beat the holy hell out of HBK with The Spirit Squads' assistance. Vince & Shane promise to make HBK's life a living hell until he admits that he really screwed Bret Hart in Montreal! Shawn pretends he’s going to admit it but then goes through how much it was truly Vince McMahon who screwed Bret, Vince orchestrated the plan and Vince is responsible for the most controversial moment in WWE history! Michaels says he’s got a partner who knows this and wants to help him beat the hell out of Vince & Shane at WrestleMania. Vince laughs thinking no one has the guts to team with Shawn. Shawn brings out… Mick Foley! Foley says that everything Shawn Michaels is saying about the Montreal Screwjob is true, he was there that night in Montreal and he no showed the next night because Vince behaved like a coward. Foley says that for years he’s wanted to beat the hell out of Vince whether it be for that night in Montreal, how he’s treated Linda, the talents on the roster and how he treated him when he was the Commissioner of the company 5 years ago. Vince is furious and tells Foley there will be hell to pay for him too for even daring to align with Michaels and says the match will be a Hardcore match at WrestleMania! In a chaotic and bloody encounter that has interference from The Spirit Squad, Michaels and Foley win after Michaels delivers an elbow drop to Vince McMahon through a table while he has a trash can over his head.)
The Undertaker vs Kurt Angle
(After No Way Out, Kurt Angle explains on Raw that he cost The Undertaker the World Heavyweight Championship for two reasons. The Deadman cost him the main event of WrestleMania by eliminating him in the Royal Rumble. The other reason? He saw it as an opportunity to get another opportunity, a chance to end the streak at WrestleMania! Angle says right now he’s the best damn wrestler on the planet, he’s a wrestling machine and that freaking streak is his to break, it’s true, it’s damn true! The Undertaker responds and accepts Angle’s challenge and tells him that at WrestleMania, he’ll dig a grave for him like he has others, his day of reckoning will come and he’ll not live to regret his actions at No Way Out. Angle says he isn’t intimidated by empty threats and promises to snap Taker’s ankle as well as his streak. This is essentially their 30 minute classic they had at No Way Out in real life but with The Undertaker coming out on top after delivering two Tombstone Piledriver’s to Kurt Angle in order to go 14-0 at WrestleMania!)
World Heavyweight Championship:
Randy Orton (c) vs Rey Mysterio
(After his win over The Undertaker at No Way Out, Randy Orton is happy and smiling. He insists that The Legend Killer is rightfully entering WrestleMania as the World Heavyweight Champion no matter how hard Teddy Long tried to ensure he didn’t. Orton then promises that he’ll crush Rey Mysterio like a bug at WrestleMania and end his fairytale dream while Eddie will actually be looking down smiling at the sight of it no matter what narrative Mysterio is painting. Rey interrupts and says Orton is a coward and nothing but a disgrace to legends like Eddie Guerrero. Rey insists dreams do come true at events like WrestleMania and promises to win the World Heavyweight Championship in dedication to his friend Eddie Guerrero, who’ll be inducted into the 2006 Hall of Fame. During the match, Orton attempts to cheat but Rey counters, hits him with the 619 and instead of delivering a West Coast Pop, Rey hits a Frog Splash and pins Randy Orton to win the World Heavyweight Championship! Michael Cole shouts “MYSTERIO WINS THE TITLE!” Rey celebrates on the ramp with Chavo Guerrero and Eddie’s wife Vickie, fully dedicating his win to the late, great legend that is Latino Heat.)
WWE Championship:
Edge (c) w/Lita vs John Cena
(John Cena wins a Fatal 4 Way Match against Kane, Big Show and Shawn Michaels to earn this match against Edge at WrestleMania. Cena promises to regain the title Edge stole from him at New Year’s Revolution and leave WrestleMania for the second year in a row as the WWE Champion. Edge says there’s no way in hell is Cena going to take his moment from him and tells him he isn’t some sort of transitional paper champion the way people think. Edge vows to show everyone who’s ever doubted him that he deserves to be at the top of the mountain and promises to leave Chicago as the WWE Champion. In a very competitive main event where the crowd is booing the hell out of John Cena, Cena is smashed over the head with brass knuckles by Lita when the referee doesn’t see. Edge then Spears Cena and pins him to surprisingly retain the WWE Championship! After the match, a pissed off Cena attacks Edge, hits him with an FU through the announce table and then delivers an FU to Lita in the middle of the ring as WrestleMania 22 draws to a close.)
Notes:
(It’s announced that ECW will be returning and will now be a brand in the WWE starting in June!)
(Edge attacks Mick Foley on behalf of Vince McMahon and leaves him swimming in a pile of his own blood. This writes the Hardcore Legend off TV.)
(Randy Orton is suspended for 30 days after violating the wellness policy.)
Backlash 2006 (Raw)
Date: 30/4/06
Location: Rupp Arena, Lexington, Kentucky
Intercontinental Championship:
Shelton Benjamin (c) vs Rob Van Dam
(After WrestleMania, Shelton Benjamin turns heel and attacks Rob Van Dam for costing him his moment at WrestleMania in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match. Desperate for revenge, Van Dam challenges Benjamin to put his championship on the line against him at Backlash and the champion accepts. Benjamin cheats to retain by putting his feet on the ropes during a roll up.)
Eugene vs Umaga w/Armando Estrada
(Umaga debuts on Raw the night after WrestleMania 22. He wins here in a 3 minute squash match to showcase his dominance.)
WWE World Tag Team Championship:
Kane & Big Show (c) vs Carlito & Chris Masters
(Carlito and Chris Masters form an alliance and target the World Tag Team Championship. During the match, Big Show turns heel and Chokeslam’s Kane which allows Carlito & Chris Masters to win the titles.)
Shawn Michaels vs Shane McMahon w/Vince McMahon
(After WrestleMania, a pissed off Vince McMahon says that the McMahons aren’t done with making The Showstopper's life a living hell. Vince announces that at Backlash, Shawn will be facing his son Shane in a match to teach him a lesson! During the match when the referee is knocked out, The Spirit Squad interferes and they attack Shawn Michaels which delights Vince McMahon. After they do so, Triple H comes down to the ring. McMahon is happy to see The Game as he’s been trying to recruit him for weeks to end Shawn Michaels' career and asks him to smash Shawn over the face with his sledgehammer. Triple H goes to hit Shawn but instead… hits Vince McMahon! Triple H then beats the hell out of The Spirit Squad with his Sledgehammer. Shane McMahon then attacks The Game from behind but of course Triple H is helped by Shawn Michaels. Triple H hits Shane over the face with the sledgehammer, he walks into Sweet Chin Music, the ref regains consciousness and makes the cover for Shawn Michaels to win this match. After the match, Shawn Michaels and Triple H stare each other down and… do the DX high five! DX is back!)
Women’s Championship:
Mickie James (c) vs Trish Stratus (Double Count-Out)
(This match ends in a double count-out after Trish legitimately dislocates her shoulder. Mickie James attacks her still and leaves Backlash on top.)
WWE Championship:
Edge (c) w/Lita vs John Cena
(After WrestleMania, Edge gloats about beating John Cena in the main event of WrestleMania. He claims that he’s just further solidified legendary status on his name, proved he deserves to be on top of the mountain and proved after questions were asked after New Year’s Revolution that he’s better than John Cena! Cena interrupts and says while Edge is still the WWE Champion, he’s still also a complete jackass who needed help to retain his title, claiming it’s Lita who well and truly wears the pants in the relationship. Edge takes offense to this and claims Cena is just coming up with excuses to deflect losing to him. Cena goads Edge into facing him at Backlash in a rematch by making comments about Lita having more balls than Edge. During the match, Edge attempts to cheat until… Mick Foley’s music hits! Foley comes down and puts Mr Socko on Lita who’s trying to help Edge cowardly win again like she did at WrestleMania. This distraction though is enough for Edge to turn around in an FU from Cena. John Cena then pins Edge to win the WWE Championship! Backlash draws to a close with Cena celebrating after winning his second WWE Championship.)
And that's part 41! I hope you guys enjoyed it and loved my swerve with Edge leaving WrestleMania with his championship. I'll be back very soon for my next part where we'll see ECW reborn, an iconic Money in the Bank cash-in, and a far better SummerSlam 2006. Stay safe and stay tuned!

2023.05.29 01:07 BIGBOOSTING Sandals Royal Curacao Review

Just got back from Sandals Royal Curacao! This is a long review. I took over this subreddit to make it as informational as possible about the resorts, so here we go! Please feel free to ask any questions if I missed something.

Room:
We stayed May 22-27 in a Sunchi Swim-up Club Level room (HSUP). We were in Sunchi Building 8, which is the last building on one side of the resort. We stayed in 1253, which is the second-to-last room on the first floor. All that to say, Curacao is a long resort and you'll definitely get your steps in! But we were also right next to the dive shop, which was fantastic for us.

The swim-up room was amazing and highly recommended! We ended up using it more than the double infinity pool. They did a perfect job at keeping the in-room bar stocked with alcohol and juices/water (around 10am). We didn't have to call for anything once. So we would hang out in the pool (which connects across buildings 7 & 8, and there is a common area) and make our own drinks. Many times we were the only ones in the pool out of all the rooms. The swim-up pool is completely private, there is no entry except through a room, and there are a lot of gorgeous plants and flowers blocking it from the other side. Hummingbirds would be 1 foot away and were fun to watch. Floats are provided for each room. Use the ice bucket to keep bottles cool outside.

Ordering food from Room Service was consistently 40-45 minutes. At night it was quiet, as the music from the main area doesn't really reach building 8. No one would be in the swim-up pool after 10, it would start to get a little chilly with the wind. It gets very, very dark towards the Sunchi end of the resort. I recommend using the building side to reach your room, not the garden path.

Two subjective complaints:
(1) Housekeeping was very late. Some days they didn't come until 4-5pm, and the evening turn-down and towel replenishment didn't happen until 10pm. Between the swim-up and shower and wet floors, you NEED towels. We supplemented with the brown pool towels, grabbing them any time we went by the other pools. The late service could be because we were in the last building, but I'm not sure. The housekeepers did do a very thorough job and the rooms were clean and new.
(2) When we first checked-in, the back door's lock looked like it was forcibly broken and mangled. We had them replace it, but it still didn't lock. There is a second set of heavy wooden doors (blinds really) that do close and lock, so we weren't overly concerned. I don't think someone tried to break in, based on how the pool would make it hard to get to. But I can see someone getting locked out accidentally and having no other option but to break the door, since you can't get out of the pool area otherwise.

Restaurants/Service
The service across all restaurants and bars was outstanding. We never experienced a wait or long times to get our ordedrinks. The waitstaff were happy to talk to you and literally everyone says hello as you pass by. Concierge was perfect and accommodating as well. Restaurants had most of everything, and they would tell you what they're out of as you sat down.

Pietra - Our go-to breakfast buffet. At lunch they change the buffet to different food by country (Asian, Mexican, American, etc.). The food was all great at lunch. I ate too many fajitas.

Vincent - Reservation required. I recommend the Escargots and Foie Gras. They were out of the Cured Beef Bresaola.

Toteki, La Palma, Kishi - Food trucks. These were great for a snack. Get the cuttlefish and shrimp from La Palma, and the General Tso's Steak Bao Buns from Kishi.

Strand - For dinner, absolutely get the Snapper. It was my favorite meal of the trip. My husband liked the Surf & Turf at Strand better than Butch's. Strand also has a lunch menu with American-type items on it. The shrimp Caesar wrap was a nice light lunch.

Butch's - Reservation required. We went twice for dinner, once for breakfast. For dinner appetizers, try the Waldorf Caesar, Crispy Goat Cheese Salad, and Grilled Black Pepper Bacon (definitely that one). The Aged Prime Rib and Chargrilled Lamb Chops were great. We also had the Surf & Turf and Steak Diane which were very good too. Absolutely get the Willy Wonka Brulee - it was my favorite dessert on the resort.

Gatsu Gatsu - We went twice. The sushi here is so good. It's 4 pieces per roll. I recommend the Champagne Lobster and Caribbean Dynamite rolls. Shrimp tempura and crispy chicken karaage were our favorite appetizers. They were out of edamame and tonkotsu ramen.

Kanaal - Nice to pop into for a cappuccino or sweets.

Zuka and Aolo's - did not try.

Note: We wanted to order champagne (Veuve Clicquot) but the resort (or at least Butch's, Kanaal, and Pietra) was out of that and several of their Proseccos. We did end up getting 2 bottles of Prosecco though.

Scuba Diving
Scuba was great and the team was a lot of fun. You have to do a check-out dive if you haven't logged a dive recently (they do check your log book if you want to avoid the check-out dive). We did ours around 11am and were able to go on an afternoon dive the same day (we were waitlisted, but some didn't show up). You sign up for dives starting at 8am 2 days out, so if you want to dive Friday, show up on Wednesday morning at 8am to sign up. They do keep waitlists for each dive. The dive shop has lockers! Great for if your room is at the other end of the resort and you don't want to walk with your stuff every morning.

The dive schedule seems highly variable - while we were there, they did 2-tank morning dives Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and a 1-tank afternoon dive those days. Tuesday and Thursday they do a 1-tank morning dive, and 1-tank afternoon dive. I'm not sure about Saturday-Sunday since we weren't there. But, they said just a month ago they were only able to do 1-tank morning dives each day and no afternoon dives, as the water would get too choppy. And yes, the water was very choppy and it was windy all day. I saw a red flag or two at the resort while we were there. So you may want to check out the weather in Curacao the month you want to book.

They mentioned all the dive sites were 5-10 minutes away, but we were able to go Double Reef Thursday, the farthest site at 30 minutes. There were several turtles, a reef shark, squid, and a great variety of fish and coral. It was the best dive I've been in on years. However, they said it had been a month and a half since they'd been able to reach the site because of the choppiness. A couple on the boat had been able to go with an offsite-company and enter via shore, so that's an option as well.

City
You can take a cab from the resort to Willemstad for $49 each way. Our cab was private and air conditioned. The drivers were very nice. They dropped us off next to the CURACAO sign, and pickup was there too (they gave you a card and you call them 30 minutes before you're ready to leave). Right by the Curacao sign, there's a tiny alley with a white and blue cow - go down that alley for some great gelato. There's also an ice cream place near the sign that claims to give you an orgasm in less than a minute, but I didn't partake. There are lots of cafes and souvenir shops around Willemstad. There's a fresh fish and fruit market. You'll be near where the cruise ships dock. Check out the bridge and forts. Pop into a casino for some much-needed A/C. As an aside, a local man very persistently forced his help on us (where are you going, follow me down this alley, etc...) and wouldn't leave us alone and stop following us even after we said we knew where we were going, and ultimately asked for beer money, but the city seemed safe. There were several police officers around the streets we passed. Just be aware of your surroundings (as in any city).

Miscellaneous
The bus ride from/to the airport took us 40-45 minutes. It's a very nice and comfortable bus. You'll see a Sandals area at the end after you pick up your luggage. The airport was very nice and modern and quick to get through (we were first off the plane though). On departure, there seemed to be only one main hot food place after security, but they have a VIP/Priority Pass lounge that had some good light food on the buffet and a hot menu to order from as well. Check if your credit card has that as a perk to avoid the long line at the other restaurant. It opens at 1pm.

Spa/Gym - The spa was nice and clean. You have your own private bathroom/changing area in the table room versus a general locker room. The gym had a steady flow of people, but wasn't ever too crowded.

Curacao is HOT in May. Seriously. It was 86 every day, with a heat index around 96-97. Now, I was born and raised in South Georgia where it gets 95 with a 110 index in the summer, but this heat hit different. The UV index on my weather app said 11. Wear sunscreen and stay in the water. And get used to being wet - it'll either be pool water, ocean, or sweat depending on your location at the resort. It was mostly sunny every day, with a few clouds in the afternoon. No rain. At night it cools off well enough. Thankfully there's always a nice breeze going on. But stay hydrated and pay attention to your skin. Walking around the city with the heat was a bit much, we started at 9 and made it to 12 before calling it quits.

Tl;dr
I loved it! I highly recommend a Swim-up room, but maybe ask for a central building instead of on the edge of the resort (walking that far in the extreme heat with no shade gets old fast). Great service, wonderful staff. I would pick another month to go back though. May was just too hot for me!
