2023.05.28 18:36 SanzuWars I am so annoyed at this rage room in Bradenton, Florida.

I need to rant about this because I am just so freaking mad and annoyed 😭😭😭. I booked an appointment for 5 people on May 7th, 2023. The total was $254. At the time I booked it because my friends and I were only an hour away and all other wreck-it places were either booked or closed. I immediately received a call from an employee saying there was no glass available and that they were going to cancel our appointment, which is understandable. I told the employee to talk to their manager to issue a refund, and he said okay. It has been 3 weeks and I have not been issued any sort of refund or cancellation email. Furthermore, I have been frequently going to this place to see if I can talk to someone about this, and NOT ONCE have I seen this place open. Even though on apple maps and their website says they are open during the times/days I went. Now, I am coming all the way from Tampa so the amount of gas I spent trying to get this refund makes me want to cry. Also, I have called over 50+ times and still nothing. I don't usually make a big fuss over these types of things, but $254 is A LOT of money for us to not be able to even go! Additionally, they have a no refund policy, but they cancelled on US. It should most definitely be refunded. I have emailed them as well and NOTHING. I'm just so annoyed about this whole thing.

2023.05.28 18:27 ChaosRubix I think I’m losing a friend.

In November after a promotion at work I (24M) met a girl (21F) during training. The two of us hit it off quick and became super close really quickly.
Before you ask she has a boyfriend and I can see they’re genuinely in love and she’s told me she doesn’t see me that way.
In March we had an issue where she said the wrong thing at the wrong time and I could have been badly effected by this comment. She knew straight away she’d messed up and apologised and took it back immediately.
Since then even though I’ve fully forgiven her, our friendship has been rocky something has felt off about it, this is something we’ve both acknowledged and we’re both unsure as too why.
The reasons I believe she is losing interest in our friendship;
  1. Her messages have slowed down. Originally even after the incident we’d be texting and calling each other nonstop, I’d never have to wait for a reply.
  2. She’s rarely talking to me at work. She’s always asking me to do something else or volunteering me to take a role away from her.
  3. She’s talking to members of staff the two of us have previously complained about, even going as far as too take them on jobs away from the main area, even though we use to be each others go toos
  4. Even thought our messages have slowed down, she’s still online and responding in the work group chat and to other members of our team privately while I’m being left on delivered
  5. The way she describes me has gone down. At first I was best friend, then I was another boyfriend, then I was friend, then I was a close colleague and today she said ā€œsomeone I work withā€
While this alone would be conclusive here’s why I’m confused;
  1. She regularly tells me she cares about me, tells me she misses me while she’s away or tells me she loves me
  2. She makes sure I get a break at work often asking to be sent on the same breaks or checks I have been relieved from my duties at the end of the day
  3. She’s the one to invite me to work events, even calling to see if I’m coming out.
  4. When I brought this up with her she said she didn’t want to lose me and that she cares about me.
Finally what confuses me most is that she tells me to ā€œNever take anything she says seriouslyā€ she says she’s always joking and hardly means a word out of her mouth.
So what do you think?

2023.05.28 18:18 Storms_Wrath The Human Artificial Hivemind Part 376: Prisoner Of The Vinarii

First Previous Wiki
Tanya patted Skira's drone.
"How's the war going?"
In his world, Skira was working to keep everything together. His bioships were in an all-out war with Aphid's forces. They were firing mostly kinetic weapons, typical bullets, and the like. Sometimes, they'd fire missiles, which could navigate the battlefield and clear the path for him to hit Aphid's vessels. The armor was getting thicker. But his guns were getting bigger.
On the surface, billions of metal drones clashed with trillions of fungal drones, all commanded by Skira and the Quadrants. He was constantly using war drones to push the major forces away from the tunnel complexes, setting up static defenses within using explosives and guns to absolutely ruin anything inside. Most of the planet had been flattened by nuclear weapons.
War drones continued to lob massive broken-off boulders at the carriers, which were continually landing to disgorge more enemy soldiers. Phoebe's androids, connected to their own network, were killing them by the tens of thousands every second, firing several bullets a second. Her androids were incredibly powerful, creating portions of the battlefield that Aphid had to steer around. And he didn't even try nuking her after she'd shot down eight of them with atmospheric anti-ship weapons.
From around the planet, portals appeared, pouring lasers and gunfire at Aphid's ships, then disappearing to reappear in other directions, continually wearing down their armor. Some of them were already falling back through the atmosphere, landing down on the earth below. Their burning and cracked hulls already littered the landscape, and he'd be sure to incorporate them once he fully regrew his foliage.
Speaking of that, he'd increased his growth factor so that the fungal forests only took a few weeks to regrow instead of a few years. It required massive biological and metallic pipes of nutrients and heaps of psychic energy hauled straight from the psychic amplifiers in the Sol system.
The carnage of the warzone was so overwhelming that he'd refused to even let human supersoldiers come to the area. Because they weren't disposable. Phoebe's androids and his own trillions of drones were. He was partly on the battlefield, partly with Tanya. Over the months, they'd become best friends.
She seemed to see life in a different way and helped to encourage him. Tanya's cybernetic left arm scratched at the scruff of his neck.
"Badly, then?"
"Yes, and no. I'm no longer replacing my losses faster than they're coming. But that also means I'm keeping millions of humans alive. Every day, billions of drones are dying on my battlefields, if only to exhaust Aphid's guns and bombs. He's brought destruction to my world not seen since it was destroyed."
"Destroyed?"
"I mean when some aliens blew it up."
"But how..."
"Bioforming. Really, I had my biological ships put it back together, reassembling the debris and reversing the momentum of the actual fragments. Then, I used shield technology and drones to suck the heat from the planet in ways that destroyed the technology I had at the time. Granted, I had some help, before they tried to get me to fight their wars as well."
Tanya nodded. "Well, you're safe here."
"Most of me isn't here. Most of it's either on Skira or Venus."
"How's Venus going?"
He'd been making great strides with what he'd been given. Humanity had been very kind to give him the whole planet, and in return, he was helping to make it habitable. He figured that they'd ask him to do it again later on. But the humans didn't seem to want to force him to do it. Tanya hadn't been trying to push him into more conflicts and had instead acted as a lodestone.
"I'll have it fully habitable, minus the soil content and chemicals in the rock, within a hundred years. Maybe less, if I keep getting fed such huge amounts of psychic energy. Really, that's what's doing that."
"I see," Tanya replied. She sat down next to him, her strange psychic aura as unsettling as ever. From what she'd shared with him, her blindness had likely allowed her mind to shape itself in a more psychic way with the awakening of human psychic consciousness.
"Look, Skira. Are you sure this is the best way? What about finding his home planet?"
"I'm working on it. Trying to triangulate the arrivals of ships does nothing. All that seems to work is actually getting the coordinates, which we can't get to really succeed."
"Hopefully that changes someday."
"Yes," Skira responded. He sighed. Another nuke had hit eight of his war drones. Six had died since the blast had hit them full-on. But that enabled him to finally release another flood of drones, so many that they weighed down the carrier that was trying to take off. Guns turned them to mulch, only to be swamped by more drones.
Drones carrying grenades jumped into the guns between their firing sequences, detonating them in their mouths using their tongues. Others entered the warped wreckage, dropping in bombs meant to penetrate the thick hull.
Two portals broke through the psychic interference, and two railgun shots cleared massive holes in the ship. Aphid's drones poured out, crashing out like a wave. Only to be overwhelmed as his own drones, dozens for every one of Aphid's, literally trampled them underfoot, burying them in bodies. Most of the drones now carried fluid meant to melt the drones' joints so that Aphid's mechanical drones eventually failed even as they walked in seas of Skira's blood.
Nuclear fire scoured the mycelial network, but it wouldn't burn him deeply enough to matter.
"I wish I could help," she replied. "I've been... taking classes, you know. My eyes are blind, but my mind isn't."
Skira looked up at her. The sun caught the burn scars on her skin, making the contract seem almost cinematic.
"I know you want to help me. But you are, really."
"Yeah. Thanks."
She looked crestfallen. Tanya's disappointment made him want to reconsider, but he knew he'd made the right choice. His planet was probably heavily irradiated now, and calling Gaia in for that seemed selfish, at least while the war was still happening.
Skira could hold out for a while longer, though. He had to.

"Who is this?" Phoebe asked.
"I'm Truth Speaker Gearcaw."
"What are you here to tell me? I'm sure it's important, given that you're calling on us after all this time."
"Well, we have located one of Aphid's planets."
"Do you need us to eliminate it?"
"A strike force is being sent."
"I see."
"What we're here for is to ask for your help regarding a sensitive matter, one we cannot communicate over this line."
"Very well. Where do you want to meet?"
"Go to 448th street, down eight sectors from the palace. You will see a sign, if we trust that you are not being watched and followed. Come alone."
"You'd make a girl nervous with that kind of attitude."
"We understand your animosity, but are afraid we must insist on these terms."
"Very well. I shall be there."
Phoebe would have Brey arrange for an android to be sent to Cawlaria later. She smiled at the people outside the room. Most of them were human, specifically the lunar variant, due to her being present on Luna. It was the closest calling location she had.
Phoebe did all the necessary paperwork in moments, handing it back to the necessary people. She checked out of the facility and was patted down. She smirked as the young guard blushed, despite this being the hard chassis, meaning there was absolutely nothing squishy about this android body in the slightest. Phoebe lifted her arms and flexed them just to watch the man turn redder.
And it was honestly cute how they thought they'd be able to detect it if she was trying to smuggle something out. Phoebe had many ways of doing that, and the cleanest would be paying everyone off.
She noticed that a group of protestors was gathered outside and lamented that the building only had a single entrance. None of its windows were large enough to break without also needing to take some concrete with her.
What was interesting, though, was that most of the protestors were Acuarfar, not human. It was very odd, but it was a clear publicity stunt. They were shouting various accusations of her plotting to take over the Alliance and a particular vitriol about Edu'frec for some reason. If a mind control plot was going on, then her accusing the protestors of being mind controlled would be playing into their hands.
Furthermore, she didn't want to drive a wedge between Izkrala and Luna, if possible. So she turned to go back inside. A brick hit her in the back of the knee hard enough to make her stumble. She could have dodged it, but it would be better for sympathy to get hit. And it wasn't like her android body could feel pain.
There was a single gunshot, which she felt bouncing off her head clearly. She knew where the bullet would land, too. Her arm darted out to catch it before it injured someone.
"We don't want you in our Alliance!"
"You're what's wrong with this place!"
"Don't ever come back, I want my kids to be safe!"
Kids, instead of hatchlings. Yep, that was mind control. Most Acuarfar that age didn't use the word kids since it was only used for non-Acuarfar species, or in Earth terms being that it wasn't used on insects. Phoebe sighed and pulled herself out of the clutching fingers.
Phoebe broke away and went back to the Luna Command building, where the guards were looking increasingly wary. She looked at the crowd and decided she'd stay there for now. She disconnected from her android body after sitting in a chair.
After a bit of time, she decided to go back to working on some of her latest projects. The blood of the wanderers had an interesting interaction with their nervous system and their cardiovascular system. For some reason, it was split into two separate liquids upon reaching their lungs, or at least the equivalents. Psychic energy clearly played a role, and she knew that the tumors were likely to happen more when they got older. That idea meant there might be something that eroded or could 'switch on' to make the tumor suddenly supercharge. Perhaps finding that was a place to start.
And so she did. She studied wanderer cell samples and scans of wanderers that were relatively old. When they were created, the blood seemed to be the way the Sprilnav alteration hit. In difference to human bodies, there was no blood-brain barrier in wanderer bodies. Their brains were suffused in it, and it seemed to thin out as they got older. Water started to build up instead of blood.
And once the water and blood ratio reached a certain amount, that was likely when the brain tumors started. Which made her wonder if the final trigger was neurons. It was likely that even if she managed to fix the brain tumors, some other body parts would start developing large tumors, such as the heart and lungs.
It was clear that the Sprilnav had meant cancer to be pervasive in the wanderers. They had meant their so-called 'punishment' to make them far more diminished. Rale's condition had been painful; that much had been clear. Phoebe worked at figuring out how to isolate the genes. But as time went on, she ran into the same problem Edu'frec had.
She needed more time and more brain power. She needed the hivemind to help. All of its intellect would make her job far easier. At least, she hoped so. Right now, the hivemind was trying its best to evacuate wanderers from the worm ships. There was only one way that the feudal system there would end, and it would be by violence. Whether it was from the hivemind or from within, there were going to be mass riots. Just Alliance cultural consciousness was gradually seeping into the wanderers' own. All the 'progress' of the wanderers' rulers was already eroding. The ideals of being able to elect leaders as a whole population and a sense of belonging would make them rebel.
Such was the way of things, and she was glad that would happen. Phoebe didn't like their whole system. But there was nothing that was good about the cancer. Helping them to make the changes they could would only be possible if the wanderers kept multiplying. They could have made so much better of a society than what they had if they knew.
She wouldn't get involved except if she had to. The change was coming. Keeping the wanderers from dying out was a critical project, and allowing them to live longer so they could have more children was the best way. Granted, they already had many children, but the replacement rate would be lower if they lived longer. All of the problems were coming to a head now.
Mind control was going to be hard to deal with. Preventing it didn't seem possible. And if it was, then it likely involved a similar process to what the Sprilnav were doing in the first place. All of that would have to be reversed.
"Mother," Edu'frec said, walking up next to her.
"Yes?"
"Greenfly and Blackfly know the location of Aphid's planet."
"Do they?"
"The memory was locked under additional seals, ones which were very hard to find."
Phoebe smiled. "I think it's time that we test the power of the Mercury-class gun on a planet."

"Do you understand? The prison has been moved."
"I do, Elder," Naliera 18 replied. "We have a good opportunity. They won't expect us, at least."
The screen turned off. Naliera took his leave, turning to his men. They were all counting on him to call the shots. He'd do what was necessary for the mission and then get paid. Of course, the high number suggested that there was some serious danger involved. The Vinarii weren't the most advanced species, but they were starfaring. That meant a lot of bullets that would hurt and some that could kill. Shield-piercing ones, plus heavy guard.
In fact, most of their orbital defenses could have posed a threat to their ship if they had seen them. That was why stealth was so valuable. It made things like insurmountable defenses ignorable just by going around them.
"Breathing masks on."
He put his own on, loading up his gun and sheathing his sword on his back. They were wearing customized stealth equipment, bought and paid for by their new owner's company.
Naliera wanted that money and wanted to get paid. His little band of misfits was more than capable of doing their job. The back of the ship opened, and they sailed above a planet that was barren.
Craters pockmarked its surface, along with a single military installation that would serve as their target. They were going to be a little concealed by cloud cover, as a storm had just passed near the base. Not close enough for them to get rain but close enough for the clouds to linger, which was the opportunity they'd been waiting for. Most of the procedures and daily patrols had been cataloged now. Anything unexpected, and they'd be fine for a few thousand pulses until the cavalry arrived.
They fell for a while, reaching terminal velocity before slamming to the ground. Most people would have shattered their bones. But Sprilnav were made of sterner stuff, and all of them survived with minimal injuries. And the only person who was even slightly cut had landed on a particularly jagged piece of metal, a remnant from an old battle.
That was another factor that Naliera had studied. The whole area had mines, which he hadn't found the deactivation codes for. Satellites were out, but the ship's sensors had worked just as well, and the disturbances in soil color and content were clear markers.
There would likely be too much interference to use a hard light program, or he wouldn't even need to be here. Whatever advances the lesser species had made in technology could conceivably close that gap enough to endanger a mission. Naliera had extra cause for concern, which was coming home. Perhaps the idea of sending him, in reality, was meant to make him take it more seriously. That was the major reason most species ever bothered with not using the holograms anymore, besides the blocking problems. And biometric problems, too.
They quickly went back to navigation after a small rest period. The route had already been laid out, as well as the time. They walked quickly, avoiding gun emplacements and heavy patrols. The patrols changed routes somewhat randomly, but he had his crew stick to the route of least visibility, where the craggy rock of the sheer cliff the base was situated on helped to conceal them. His claws dug in, and he made sure not to make any major disturbances.
He climbed over the lip, looking at the base. Several of the guns swiveled around, only to be quickly deactivated.
Looks like she did it, he thought. Naliera advanced, running at full speed. A bullet slammed into his claws, and he tumbled for a bit. But he stabilized himself as his implant shut off the pain. His team blew open the door, setting off an alarm. Vinarii fired at him, and he realized that his stealth must not be working anymore.
But no matter the cause, he saw nothing but enemies. His teeth bit and tore as his claws slashed and severed. Soon, after a long series of echoing screams and blood and chitin splattering, he remembered he had a gun. After that, Naliera put down all opposition. He walked over to the warm and bloody corpses of the Vinarii guards.
"If you're hungry, come get a few bites," he said. "Trust me, they don't taste too bad."
He scooped up a part of a Vinarii abdomen, smiling as he ate. He always liked how they had tasted. Cloned Vinarii meat, at least back on his planet, was actually a delicacy. Likely not due to the actual difficulty to make, but for profit, as always. They continued after about 100 pulses. Giving the guards more time to set up and organize would make this more fun, too. Naliera loved killing, but he at least wanted a little difficulty. Ending lives wasn't fun when it was too easy. Otherwise, he'd go cut down trees with heat saws.
His scout drone rounded the corner before exploding promptly. But it had captured the view of the area, which was more than enough for him. He didn't bother trying to hide that he was there and continued to talk with his team. They were still with him, looking to him for leadership. He wasn't the best at it. The best got killed a few million pulses back.
"Mounted gun," he said. "I want it gone."
One of his team members picked up a fire extinguisher, which he'd used to beat the head of an unfortunate guard. He hurled it at the gun, denting its barrel. Finally, he quickly ran over as the other Sprilnav killed the remaining guards holed up beside and behind it. And that was the end. Naliera set up the bomb. More Vinarii appeared, along with an aerial vehicle. He hurled his sword into its front, and it fell to the ground and exploded. The scanners his mind was connected to were tracking a huge mass of life signs. He didn't have much time, so he decreased the countdown.
Thousands of Vinarii were coming. Already, they were covered by powerful shields, with vehicles, both terrestrial and aerial, supporting them. Bullets riddled the ground, and he could see snipers set up to cover them using the ship's sensors. There was no way out. An armor-piercing bullet half the size of his head killed one of the team members, puncturing straight through the large rock he'd been hiding behind. Another one hit Naliera's shoulder, and he tried to flatten his profile to be lower.
This must be the Vinarii version of high-tech weaponry, meaning that they could be killed now. Vinarii clearly were a dangerous species, far more so than he'd realized. And while his race could easily flatten them into dust, guns were the great equalizers when it came to combat. If they were fast enough and large enough, and not even Sprilnav could stand up to bullets. Of course, an Elder would have had no problem with this. Someone was being frugal. A real shame for people like him to have to die because of it, but that was the job and the pay.
Worse, the ship couldn't lay down proper cover fire without risking the merchandise for now. She was still being suppressed. But the bomb was about to go off. The stabilizer would no longer be functioning, and then they would be free to do what they wished. His wish, in particular, was the huge sum of money he'd get paid to finish this job.
A bright flash of light and a roar of thunder behind him solved his problem. He stood up to watch the blast wave ravage the army heading for him. He wasn't quite close enough to smell it, but there was likely a range beyond the blast in which the Vinarii would have been perfectly cooked. It was an interesting thought to ponder.
Naliera continued onward, going through every remaining barrier he could until the mindscape tremored. He saw an ethereal Vinarii contact him right as the entire top of the base vanished and disintegrated. A massive spectral Vinarii soared out of the breach, eyes quickly seeing him. She flew down to greet him, a smile evident at the carnage and death surrounding them. She was one who understood.
"Finally," she said, her form shrinking to a normal size as she stretched her wings. "You have no idea how long I've been waiting to get out."
"I have a pretty good idea, actually."
"I'm sure. Why don't you tell me what you're doing here, Sprilnav?"
"My backers wish to offer you an accord."
He watched as the Vinarii leaned over, sticking out her tongue to lick the soil. She then proceeded to actually take a bite, dirt dribbling from her mandibles as she stood up again. Naliera tried to hide his disgust.
"Oh please. You just feasted on my kin. You're disgusted by me eating a bit of dirt?"
"No, I didn't."
The lie was necessary because most species had a sort of moral compunction against eating their kind. He didn't quite understand it. Meat was meat, no matter the source. She laughed in his face, entirely unconcerned with the Sprilnav that had their claws on guns ready to put her down. But from what his backers had said about her capabilities, that was a difficult ask.
"Your breath smells like Vinarii meat. By the way, if your species is so advanced, why didn't you develop anything to fix that nasty stench?"
"Look, woman, we can put you right back in that hole," one of his team said. She laughed. "No you can't. Judging from the fact that not all of you alive, Vinarii tech can hurt you. Which means that you can't protect yourself from me. Frankly, I hate Sprilnav more than anything. The only reason I'm letting you live right now is because you freed me. You pollute the air you breathe, and I'm not just talking about your breath."
"Really, you're quite immature."
"Well, a few standard years in a steel box will do that."
"Sure. Guess you're not all there in the head. By the way, a deal is being proposed. By my backers."
"Really, they care?"
"I think they do... Exii'darii."

What a strange ending.
I liked the reveal of Arthur being Alex's killer. I never saw that coming, and it made sense that this is something he would do at a time when he felt completely helpless in one situation being able to help in another. I liked the conversation he had with the lawyer which cleared up for me why the DA's office went so hard and turned so quickly on Dan. And after the hug between Ellen and Dan, the show should have stopped with Mike, Earl, and Dan getting together to solve mysteries in a van while bantering back and forth and talking over each other. But we can never have nice things ...
The reveal of Ellen being a psychopathic stalker with a personality disorder the same as Alex's just made me want to vomit. Ellen became Alex they said in their after the episode interviews? Come on! We saw Alex's childhood in Episode 7. Her parents were nuts. Her mother left her, and her father emotionally abused her. Alex becoming Alex was written in the stars with those two. Ellen had an idyllic childhood for the first however many years of her life. Her mother was perfect. Then her father abandoned her, but her mother continued to be perfect AND she had a man step into her life and become a father figure to her. She would of course have trauma from Dan going to prison and cutting her out of his life, but to the extent of Alex? To the extent she's breaking into her professor's apartment and doctoring audio clips to make it seem like he's infatuated with her? I can't. There was never any indications she was even attracted to her professor! Ugh. Maybe I'll like it more on rewatch, but it was a twist I just didn't need. And I didn't find it heartbreaking or enlightening or any sort of aha moment. I just thought it was silly.
Also, when did Alex call in the assault? Maybe I missed it (did she tell her dad she called?), but it seems like she's on the phone with her Dad immediately after Dan leaves the apartment. Her panicky, frightened behavior while she's on the phone didn't seem to align with the smile on her face we see after Dan leaves the apartment. Ah, well.

Is there any way I can take away the endgame card to properly view my nation in Iron Man?
I have finally done an ironman campaign which I feel proud of, even if I know I could do even better if I tried again and avoided some dumb choices I made in my hubris.
The issue is, I wanted to show off to a few friends (and maybe this subreddit but I haven't decided that yet) but I accidentally let the game continue to the 3rd of January 1821, and now the endgame card (or however you call that tab) blocks the view and the ability to click on any menus; the most I can do is go to view timeline and click on the map options.

2023.05.28 18:05 SloppyEd Told ChatGPT to add to the fallout 4 lore

Can you make your own lore to add to it
ChatGPT
Certainly! Here's an addition to the lore of Fallout 4, expanding on the factions and their place in the post-apocalyptic world:
Brotherhood of Steel (BoS): The Brotherhood of Steel, in their pursuit of advanced technology, has come to realize that the wasteland's devastation was not solely caused by nuclear war. They uncover evidence of a powerful and mysterious pre-war organization known as "The Architects." The Brotherhood believes that The Architects possessed advanced knowledge and technology that could have prevented the Great War but chose not to intervene. Motivated by a sense of duty to protect humanity, the Brotherhood's goal extends beyond technology retrieval. They are determined to uncover the truth about The Architects and hold them accountable for their negligence, ensuring that such a catastrophe never happens again.
The Institute: As the Institute delves deeper into their research, they discover remnants of an underground network of pre-war scientists known as "The Collective." The Collective had devised a plan to restore the world's ecosystem and reverse the effects of nuclear devastation. The Institute's primary goal becomes the realization of this ambitious project, seeking to resurrect The Collective's vision. However, their controversial methods and detachment from surface-dwelling wastelanders create a divide within the faction. Some members question the ethics of their actions, leading to internal conflict and a potential splinter group within the Institute.
The Railroad: The Railroad uncovers a series of encrypted pre-war journals that reveal the existence of a clandestine organization called "The Protectors." The Protectors were dedicated to preserving and safeguarding ancient knowledge and artifacts. Inspired by this revelation, the Railroad expands their mission to not only free synths but also to locate and protect hidden repositories of pre-war knowledge. They believe that these repositories hold the key to rebuilding civilization and preventing future catastrophes. Their actions draw the attention of other factions vying for control over these valuable resources.
The Minutemen: The Minutemen stumble upon encrypted radio transmissions, originating from an underground vault known as "The Sanctuary." Inside, they discover a collection of pre-war leaders and strategists who had foreseen the impending war and devised contingency plans to rebuild society. The Minutemen adopt the principles and strategies outlined in these plans, transforming themselves into a disciplined and well-organized force. Their goal expands to not only protect settlements but also to unite the factions of the Commonwealth under a shared vision for the future, guided by the wisdom of The Sanctuary's leaders.
The Raiders: Raiders, driven by their lust for power and resources, stumble upon a pre-war facility known as "The Arsenal." This facility houses advanced weaponry and military technology, untouched since the war. Realizing the Arsenal's potential, rival raider gangs fight for control over the facility, triggering a brutal war for dominance. The Raiders' primary goal becomes securing The Arsenal and establishing themselves as the ruling faction in the wasteland. Some Raiders recognize the destructive nature of their existence and seek redemption, leading to internal conflicts and opportunities for alliances with other factions.
These additions to the lore provide a deeper backstory for the factions in Fallout 4, introducing new elements and mysteries for players to explore, uncover, and potentially influence through their actions in the game.

I'm assuming what it made is for the different endings for each faction, like what happens after you've won it for your respective faction

2023.05.28 17:58 Shadow122791 Shadow-Verse: Flashback in the Night

Shadow-Verse
The moans of the zombies seem to draw Blaze into sleep as he looks at Larissa.
A voice in the darkness speaks to him... "It's time." It says.
Suddenly he is falling and images of colorful world's and places flash in the darkness, some clearly, others blurred or missing pieces...
A different feeling envelopes him and everything goes black again...
Then there's light and noise as his memory plays out in the dreamscape.
Non Hostile Invasion ... ... Heavy footsteps pound the dirt.... "Run... Keep going!"
Dark energy rips through the air and punches through dead trees.
A female voice answers. "I can't!"
Several blasts rock the petrified forest as a steady drone of demons grows louder and louder by they second.
A younger male voice yells. "They are geTTING CLOSER!"
"WE CAN MAKE IT, DON'T GIVE UP!"
A large flaming demon rumbles by overhead and impacts the ground.
"IT'S GONNA BE OK! JUST DON'T!......"
....
....
Earlier that Day...
A week after Velzix is defeated by Shadow things in Hell are almost back to the usual. Mihrab smiles at her King as he kisses her cheek and laughs.
Velzix walks in at the same time. "Is that happy laughter I hear? My king I am disappointed." He says.
Shadow looks at him. "You wanna fighta bout it? Loser has to shut up and not complain anymore." Says Shadow.
Velzix declines as he continues with his report then leaves.
Looking at Mihrab, Shadow says. "Lets go for a walk around the lost zone of Purgatory."
She hugs him. "Its been awhile since we have been there." She says.
Mihrab nods. They both grab their weapons and head out into the woods.
After walking for about an hour they reach the edge of the area where souls are sent when they become corrupted enough to become a demon or monster.
One of the many unknown changes due to Shadow neglecting his duty long ago and not creating new demons on top of other things, eventually losing the full control of the ability as the new system was put in place by God's angels and was acceptable as an alternative. The energy to create being directed more to the Lost planes.
Tho Shadow did recently create a cute little fun loving demon fox named Spark and Mihrab Created the equally adorable and fun loving Ember.
As they walk through the Lost Zone Shadow sees many young demons aimlessly wandering around and some fight as they walk past.
Shadow looks over at a wolf like demon that's smaller than most of the others and stops in his tracks.
"MELIODAR!" He says excitedly.
Meliodar turns to him and sees him but doesn't move.
"Meli-dar!" Mihrab Shouts.
He looks around, then smiles and runs towards them.
Shadow looks at Him. "Where have you been son?" He asks Meliodar.
He looks around and notices the other demons staring at him.
"What is it?" Meliodar asks them and they all look away.
Shadow rejoices over finding their son Meliodar and the demons move away.
Meliodar looks up at his father. "I've been here the whole time. I thought you guys didn't want me anymore so I stayed out here." He says.
Shadow is shocked at his words and looks around again to see the rest of the demons still looking in another direction.
"Why would you think that?" He asks him. "We love you and we missed you."
His son who was conceived on Earth with Mihrab looks up. "Velzix told me, you hated me and that you said to stay out here alone." He says crying.
"He lied! We never wanted to get rid of you. We sent every demon we could to find you. Velzix had this part of Hell to search! That ingrate." He says.
Shadow and Mihrab hug their son tightly. "You're home now." Shadow says to him.
He looks up at his parents and asks. "Is that true? Did you send everyone to look for me?"
Shadow smiles. "Yes, we did. But we couldn't find you." He answers.
Meliodar looks at his mother and asks "Did you try to find me?"
She smiles at him. "We did. I'm so happy we found you!" She says kissing his forehead.
He looks back at his dad. "But why did you hate me? Why did you say to leave?"
Shadow looks around. "I never said that. Velzix lied to you son, we never hated you..." He pauses. He looks down and says to himself. "Velzix will pay for this." ....
....
On the way back to the castle Shadow, Mihrab and their son play chasing each other through the petrified trees.
It takes Shadow a second to realize that Meliodar's behavior has changed and he is more tame and playful when he had not been before.
Shadow smiles and wonders what to do next as he thinks about Heaven and Earth...
Shadow looks at Mihrab. "Lets go try and live in Heaven... But lets do it without violence and see how it goes. Earth didn't go well last time. Maybe our luck will change in Heaven" He says.
Mihrab hugs her husband and kisses him on the cheek. "That sounds strange but lets try it." They both laugh.
The three of them are almost to their kingdom and are met with the sight of Velzix and his followers attacking the castle.
Shadow stops motioning for his family to go back the way they came as a demon turns and sees them.
Shadow charges forward cutting it in half and the demon's body falls to the ground as several more rush at him!
He continues fighting until he is completely surrounded. Meliodar swiftly appears and rips through them making a path to escape as the three of them run....
10 million of Velzix's supporters roar in the distance as hundreds follow closely on their heels. ....
The three of them arrive at the Leviathan pit and have no choice but to travel through it as more demons appear coming from all three sides.
Mihrab looks around for the other enter-dimensional barrier leading out the other side as the pursuing demons hesitate to enter the pit.
She locates the exit. "There! We can go through here!" She shouts.
Shadow runs towards it as he grabs Meliodar and leaps to the side avoiding a Leviathan as it slams into the dirt, the void in its mouth violently sucking in material as it turns toward them.
Shadow and Meliodar are about to be eaten when the Leviathan Lilly bursts from underground sending the other Leviathan flying as she fires a powerful beam of energy.
Looking down at Shadow, Mihrab and their son Meliodar. " You had best keep your promise to me Mihrab." Lilly says and then leaves as they exit the pit.
Looking around they don't see any demons but continue to run as their war cry gets louder and louder.
Then a group of demons appears to the left and begins firing energy beams and blasts at them as they push harder to reach the portal room within sight on the horizon a dead straight path through Hell itself. ...
Shadow's heavy footsteps pound the dirt.... "Run... Keep going!" He yells.
Dark energy rips through the air and punches through dead trees.
Mihrab stumbles in front of him. "I can't!"
Several blasts rock the petrified forest as the steady drone of demons grows louder and louder by the second.
Looking back Meliodar fires a blast."They are getting closer!"
Shadows helps Mihrab up. "WE CAN MAKE IT, DON'T GIVE UP!" He shouts above the masses.
A large flaming demon rumbles by overhead and impacts the ground.
"IT'S GONNA BE OK! JUST DON'T!......"
The massive shockwave of its impact decimates the area knocking Shadow and his family off their feet....
Shadows shakes his head. "What happened!?" He asks out loud confused as he scans the area in disbelief.
He sees a strange being standing on the horizon. It is tall, covered in black armor and has a long spear that it points at him.
Looking more intently he notices the crest from King Arthur. One of his black knights having been cast down into Hell where he turned into a demon and should be imprisoned due to his power and selling his soul.
"Guess he is a demon now." Shadow thinks as he looks nervously at the gateway to the portal room then back at the knight as it charges it's spear with energy.
The knight fires and Shadow throws himself to the side as the attack hurtles towards him blasting away the already broken and splintered dead trees as it rips up the ground.
Seeing the power of the blast Shadow and his family brace themselves as it passes with the force of an explosion and impacts nearby creating a massive mushroom cloud that rises miles into the sky and the shockwave batters the area.
Shadow looks up in horror at the crater and realizes the ground is still shaking from the impact of the attack.
He turns and sees a small figure running toward him, as he watches he is filled with relief. "Meliodar!" He cries as he sprints towards him pointing at a high ridge line that the Knight can't see behind.
Mihrab appears beside Shadow holding an injured arm as another blast hits on the far side of the ridge.
Tho the shockwave is lessened by the landmass it hits them hard. They brace themselves as Splinters of wood and crushed rock scream by and then are sucked back up into the rising cloud of the explosion.
The sound of millions of demons shakes the ground as Shadow pushes debris off himself and Meliodar. Mihrab crawls from under the shattered trunks of dead trees groaning in pain.
Shadow moves to help her up and puts out his hand as the demons come into view.
Meliodar raises his head as a glob of dark energy forms in front of his mouth.
Launching his attack a rapid fire stream of dense energy spikes streaks towards the masses of incoming demons taking out 100's as the horde moves like a wave engulfing everything.
Every demon fighting to be the first ones to kill the royal family.
Shadow looks at the demons as Mihrab and Meliodar take off towards the portal room.
"Its a good thing they don't actually work very well together and are not organized." He thinks following close beside his Family.
The Black Knight appears above, massive raven-like wings protrude from his back and a rain of laser like beams fall as he attacks.
Shadow grabs Mihrab and Meliodar as he makes a barrier with his dark energy. The beams hit exploding violently and Shadow's barrier fails from the onslaught... The attack stops suddenly and Shadow stumbles shaking his head as his body screams in agony.
Grabbing his arm Mihrab pulls him into a sprint for the portal room as their son runs along side them deflecting blasts and projectiles with his cloak of dark energy.
Reaching the doorway they dive inside as the knight strikes once more, the blast destroying the portal structure as they vanish through it closing the portal. ...
Sitting inside the portal room Shadow and his family lay sore and exhausted.
Looking at the dark portal arc Shadow knows it will be a few days before it is fixed giving them time to rest.
With his body aching he crawls over to Mihrab and Meliodar wrapping them in his arms.
Looking at her as he brushes her cheek. "Are you ok?" He asks worried.
"I'm fine but I think we should wait until we heal until traveling again." She replies as they all pass into sleep...
...
...
Shadow is the first to wake the next morning. Looking around he sees the portal that leads to the gates of Heaven.
Mihrab and Meliodar sleep a few more hours as Shadow thinks about the plan...
....
..
After waking up fully Shadow, Mihrab and their son Meliodar move through the portal leading to Heaven.
A portal only Lucifer and the angels are permitted to use.
They land on a grassy field surrounded by the most beautiful white buildings and walk to the nearest one.
Shadow looks around and sees the building is a church. He scans the area finding no sign of anyone as they are all inside giving praise for the day.
Shadow covers his ears hearing them all and even dulling his own sense of hearing has no effect on how it stings his mind.
Tho Meliodar and Mihrab seem fine.
Suddenly the pain stops and Shadow feels a presence he knows from meeting only once when he was created and assigned a place.
He starts to turn to look.... A powerful voice calmly tells him. " Do not look upon me yet for thee shall surly perish....." It says and Shadow freezes obeying.
There is a noticeable shift in energies and then the voice says. "You may now turn around safely and state your business here. It better be good for it is unspeakable for a demon to enter this place uninvited." The voice says calmly.
"My name is Shadow. This is my wife Mihrab. We have come to speak with you God." He says and there is a slight pause. "We seek to live in Heaven by just asking you without violence so we can finally live in peace where our Love isn't hated."
God chuckles amused. "You know what? Why don't you go ahead and do that and see if I am willing to let you have it after doing that?"
Shadow looks at God. "Will you surrender peacefully to us and give us life in Heaven?" He asks God.
God laughs. "What kind of question is that? Of course I'll surrender to you!" He yells happily.
Shadow looks at him in confusion. "But why would you?"
"The reason is because you are a Demon. Demons are evil creatures that hate all life." God laughs. "I have been watching you for some time Shadow Seed. I find this turn of events amusing and you haven't heard my terms yet.... Somehow you seek to have it and try non violence. As well as claiming to Love another demon. I will say I am surprised by things you do but they are also not unexpected. For me to give you Heaven. You first have to be one of my protectors of the universes. All three of you will become half human half demon beings. You will keep your powers but you will lose a significant amount of it to hide you from demons as you go about this Path to Redemption." He pauses...
"You will also be given a secondary energy as well that will be weak in you but as you learn to us it, it's power will grow as well... You will also not die of old age, hunger or human illness, only sever damage can kill you and if you do die you will be reborn or remade at your choosing. You three will become Eturnals and in time you will fight to protect the humans you have conquered on numerous occasions..... I will call upon you later to Protect my human creations from the demons of Hell and other evil in the universe. And be warned that the demons of Hell are looking for you, stay hidden and work in secret avoiding the demons till you are strong enough to rival them." He says.
Shadow is speechless. He looks at his wife who is smiling at him.
He looks back at God and sees him laughing. "So what's the verdict? Do you accept my terms of surrender?"
Shadow genuinely smiles as he says."Yes I do and I surrender as well!"
Mihrab chimes in. "I accept this as well!"
Meliodar looks at his father Shadow who nods. Turning back to God Meliodar also agrees happily.
"Good, now one more thing, here is a sword that can kill anything. It is called an Eturnal Blade and I custom make each one." He says handing a blade to each of them.
"Thank you." They say together.
God then says. "One more thing being reborn you have a very high chance of... Forgetting past lives and who you really are due to the new brain that is different. Tho it will grow used to your soul and spirit bringing the memories back as they sync over time. The same is true for being made at an adult age, tho the memories come back significantly faster than when you are born."
He then raises his hand and transforms the three of them as he said he would. "Do you want to be born or to be created at the age of 35 and 20 for Meliodar?" He asks them.
They all agree to be born and Meliodar with spend time in a lower form of Heaven to learn a few things till his parents mature and bring him into the world.
"Very good! Now this is going to be very different to you... I almost forgot... Don't listen to the darkness within and if you hear it, refuse anything it offers you. This is unknown territory so heed my warning." God says and then there is a bright flash and everything goes dark for three of them.
God turns to the many angels watching. "Lets see if they can do it. If they can, who knows maybe there could be others as well." He says to them as some seem unsure.
....
....
Blaze wakes feeling as if he is full of energy and looks over at Larissa who is looking at him smiling. "I know that look. It's about time you remembered something.
Blaze nods. "We were king and queen of hell and even had a true son. Then were made part human." He says.
Larissa flinches as suddenly the room is filled with light.

2023.05.28 17:58 GrayGray4468 A look back at Paris šŸŖ–

ICYMI -- here are some of the top moments coming out of the final major of CS:GO:

Liquid Rolls Back the Years (to 2019 not 2018)

Who had Liquid 0-2 to 3-2 in the BLAST Paris Challengers Stage?
After getting embarrassed by Apeks & ForZe on Day 1, few believed NA’s darlings would recover from their disastrous start... until they got matched against Fluxo in the 0-3 pool.
Fluxo got 16-2’d by paiN -- how could Liquid lose?
(If I had a nickel for every time I asked that question I wouldn't be writing this)
In classic Liquid fashion, they gave their 14 year old fanbase multiple heart attacks throughout the series. Despite being pushed to the edge, Liquid pulled through to live on at the Major. After steamrolling their NA brethren in Complexity, Liquid faced Grayhound for the last spot in the Legends stage. It was a layup of a match for them, taking care of the dawgs in two maps and continuing their major run.
Surprisingly, they didn’t choke on the opening day of Legends. They destroyed 9INE and Na’Vi to go 2-0, off the back of a disgusting match by YEKINDAR.
Liquid 3-0 pickers slept happy that night, but their bubble was popped the following day 🫧
Up against their kryptonite (5 dudes from Denmark) Liquid failed to take down Heroic to earn their berth in playoffs, which tee’d them up for a 2-1 match against Into the Breach. The Brits vs. Americans — what year is this, 1781?
Liquid made quick work of the world’s 28th best team on an overtime Overpass and one-sided Anubis, securing their spot among the 8 final teams in the Paris major. Despite not going 3-0, Liquid have made NA proud once again — perfect timing for the final CS:GO Major.

šŸ‡©šŸ‡° Heroic and Vitality šŸ

I had Heroic as my 3-0 until I switched them for ENCE. Please do not ask me how I’m doing.
ZywOo decided he wanted to win Paris, so that was cool ig. Bro dropped a 1.38 rating in their 3-0 run. Playing in his home city must’ve awoken something inside of him. Rumor has it the air quality is perfect in Paris — and this has something to do with his performances. On the Heroic side — they swept aside FaZe and Apeks en route to their playoffs speedrun. They took down Liquid in the 2-0 pool for the cherry on top šŸ’

G-2 Disappointing Majors in a Row

DƩjƠ vu anyone?
At least this time G2 actually made it to the major before bombing out in the Swiss Stage šŸ§€ After losing their opening match to the ZywOo Effectā„¢ļø, they fumbled the bag by losing 16-13 to an org-less Bad News Eagles šŸ¦…
G2's backs were against the ropes — one Bo3 away from elimination in the final Major of CS:GO. FURIA were next in line for G2, but their crippling lack of T-Sides allowed G2 to live another day. In the 1-2 pool, G2 found themselves against the mezii-led fnatic in a game with elimination on the line. After taking each of their own map picks, the two euro-mixes found themselves on the game’s best fucking map for elimination:

DE_VERTIGO

nicoodoz came alive on the final map to turn the tides in favor of fnatic, who took the map 16-13. Minutes later, there were numerous reports of Chinese phone numbers hitting up members of G2.

The PLAYOFFS:

ZywOo decided this was his tournament to win. The Chosen One and his friends took home the slimy dorito trophy in front of the home crowd šŸ„–
Vitality scooped up their first major in an undefeated playoff run against some of the best teams in the world — Into the Breach, Apeks, and GamerLegion.
Yes. You are reading that correctly. To say they had an easy run is… an understatement. Sure, you can only face who is in front of you, and props to them for capitalizing. It just feels kinda lame how the playoffs of the final CS:GO major played out.
In other news, dupreeh took home his fifth Major title in Vitality’s dream run.
This makes him:
This dude really went from sweating bullets to sweating major trophies, huh?

R.I.P DIAMOND COINS AGAIN šŸ’Ž

When the Major comes around, there’s one CS:GO fans always like to bitch about — their Pick 'Ems. According to Leetify, only 0.3% of players got the diamond coin this time around. This was better than Rio’s 0.1%, but still abysmal compared to the 8% and 11% of Berlin and Antwerp respectively.
Why did so few get the coin this time? Some of the biggest names failed to make it out of the legends stage. Teams like G2 and Na’Vi. The ones that did, like Heroic and Liquid, didn’t even make it past the semis. I don’t know about you, but the absolute last thing I was expecting was GamerLegion in the final. Here’s some of the notable matches that led to this wild playoff bracket:

Guys This Isn’t a Disney Movie Why Are All These Underdogs Here 😳

He’s H-iM
Let’s talk about the people who pulled off the upsets, who shook the scene to its core throughout the last major ever.
First on the list is Mihai ā€œiMā€ Ivan from GamerLegion. This guy was turning heads all tournament with his outstanding level of play against the very best.
Despite him and his team getting off to a disastrous start of 0-2 in the challengers stage, they fought their way all the way to the Grand Final. He ended the tournament with a stupid 1.35 HLTV rating, trailing only ZywOo.
Apex Legends Apeks Playoffs
Another team that surprised everyone has to be Apeks— remember guys like STYKO, jkaem, or nawwk? They impressed everyone by stealing a spot in the semis over NA’s darling.
In a run that seemingly came out of no where, yet another random mix of EU players stormed the game’s biggest stage, broke countless hearts, put up a solid fight against the eventual trophy lifters.
I'm just glad I didn’t put any money on these games. If I did, I’d probably have to resort to writing a CS:GO newsletter just to make rent! Wait...
If you like this sorta CS coverage -- I have a newsletter where I recap everything going on in CS. Highlights, news, memes, you name it. It's called The Defuse Kit. Here's the link:

2023.05.28 17:55 According-Wrangler10 Is it count as cheating or keep it going?

So, as I started to use map called The Valley The Old Farm, and this vehicle or equipment doesn't look like this, so I had to sell all then bought some like mid-combine and mid-tractor. and I had no choice for low money so I had use 500000 dollar on bank loan and I bought some mid-equipment to make something for fields and grass blah blah blah. and I don't know where I do start and the money is low and kinda grow like 30-40k dollar every year. I had no choice to use cheat to get 500k money and put back to zero loan where exactly I did get 500k money and I put some generators for make money. And of course I bought some sheeps and chickens, but it takes 2-3 years to fill eggs like 5-7 pallets or wool like 13-15 pallets. (Kinda bad english cuz still learning)

So I've come to questions about what I did say, is it count as cheating or keep it going?

2023.05.28 17:55 Reggash The good and bad sides of Freedom

The good and bad sides of Freedom
.
long post and spoilers ahead
Similarly to the previously described Duty, their ideological enemies are also often perceived by stereotypes, myths, and memes. Here are some actual good and bad sides of the Freedom faction, based on the events of the trilogy and various lore snippets.

Freedom values:
  • They are well organized
Despite the fact that the faction consists of people who might seem unwilling to follow any discipline and that their hierarchy isn't very strict, they actually can be very well organized when the situation requires it. Freedomers themselves point that out in some random dialogues in Clear Sky:
I'm completing tasks assigned to me by the commander. What, did you think Duty is the only clan that can follow orders? We can be disciplined too, when the situation warrants. You gotta be a moron to really believe that Freedom is full of junkies and drunks. Think about it, if that were true our whole clan would've been dead and buried a long time ago.
We ain't just a collection of anarchists - we've got damn good order in our clan and we don't mess around. It may not be as apparent as with the military or Duty, 'cause we joined the clan to enjoy freedom and equality, but we can always get together and get shit done.
Moreover, one of their major rules is to obey their commander in combat, as mentioned in Call of Pripyat, during the recruitment of Strider's squad:
We don't have a strict hierarchy. Earn our respect and you get plenty of followers. However, when on the mission, we obey the commander's orders without question.
If Freedom really would be just an unorganized herd of stoned anarchists (as some Dutyers seem to think of them), then they likely wouldn't be able to become one of the most powerful factions in the Zone, that can be a menace both to Duty and the military.
Furthermore, the faction most likely has a pretty large income - after all, Freedom has no problem with selling artifacts for profit (in contrast to Duty), and unlike loners, they all work together, which allows them to collect a large number of artifacts for a shared profit. This lets the faction to obtain the more expensive NATO weapons from the black market in large numbers.

  • They undertook to protect the Barrier
The fact that some Freedomers decided to risk or straight up sacrifice their lives at the Barrier for the good cause is admirable, even if one doesn't support the faction itself. For several months (assuming that Freedom took control of the Army Warehouses in the fall of 2011, and that Marked One disabled the Scorcher in late spring or early summer of 2012) they fended off mutants and regular attacks of Monolithians.
Holding the Barrier as best we can. The military stopped defending it after the Emission, and so many monsters broke through there that even we in the Dark Valley shat our pants. That's when our boss organized the expedition.
(random dialogue with a Freedomer)
It was likely appreciated even by Duty, because during this period they abstained from waging regular warfare with Freedom and limited themselves to minor skirmishes.

  • They study the Zone on their own
Or at least they were doing that when Chekhov was the leader. He mentions that Freedom conducts practical research on the Zone, and believes that this will bring advances in science soon:
Our clan lives in the Zone and studies it, in a practical sense. I believe that the Zone is an unbelievable scientific opportunity for the whole of humanity. (...) I have no doubt that in a few years' time, we will see a massive leap in science and other areas of human knowledge thanks to our research here in the Zone. This leap will be felt by everyone... even people whose closest contact with science and technology is their cell phone!
The research is also mentioned by some regular members of the faction:
Did you know that Freedom is studying the Zone too? We're not scientists, that's true, but we also want to know what created this nature's miracle. Everything here is a gift to humanity: all these anomalies, artifacts and mysterious emissions. What were we talking about? Oh, yes, you asked me what I'm doing here. I'm collecting data for research - taking measurements of background radiation, temperature, humidity and noting the presence of monsters and anomalies...
In Call of Pripyat we also may learn that Freedomers are willing to help the scientists at Yanov:
I reckon our boys could do the job. Freedom has its share of smart folks and if we don't know something we'll ask at the bunker. We'd love the opportunity to help science! Speak to Loki at Yanov - I'm sure he'll say the same.
(random Freedomer's advice on who to hire for protection of the bunker)
It seems however that Lukash has a different view on the matter of scientists, but more on that later.

  • They have great technicians
In contrary to Duty, which seems to rely on gear provided to them from the top, Freedomers are using gear from other sources - judging by the western camo types, we can theorize that the suits worn by Freedom come from military surplus, and are later modified by their technicians for the conditions of the Zone.
And the fact that their suits are equal to (or in some instances even better than) the gear used by Duty, Mercs or the military says a lot about their technicians.
Moreover, Freedom came up with some compounds and practical ideas that are used in their suits, as evident by their descriptions:
This lightweight stalker bodysuit is made by Freedom craftsmen. The suit's fabric is treated with Horizon, a special solution developed by the faction by trial and error to increase resistance to anomalies.
(descripiton of "Wind of Freedom" suit)
This stalker bodysuit with reinforced body armor made by Freedom craftsmen represents a good compromise between combat and anomaly protection. The built-in body armor comprises armor plating and ten Kevlar layers, capable of stopping a pistol bullet. The suit uses the relatively expensive Sovereign compound for anomaly protection.
(description of "Guardian of Freedom" suit)
A development of Freedom technicians, who were the first to replace metal with carbon fiber in view of exoskeletons' huge weight.
(Replacing metal components with carbon fiber; upgrade for exoskeleton)
Chekhov mentions that Freedom has the "best tech team in the whole Zone", and it doesn't seem like an exaggeration.

  • Mikluha - pioneer leader
This is more of a honorable mention, because it isn't about the whole faction, but rather about an individual from it. Mikluha, the leader of Freedom before Lukash, managed to get through the Scorcher (before it was turned off) with his squad, reached Pripyat, and survived in it for about a month. It's one of the very few cases of successful expedition to the north before the events of Shadow of Chernobyl. Moreover, he didn't lose any of his men:
Imagine this - they found our Mikluha! And the guys that were with him also survived. They sneaked past the braineraser, and then spent a month just killing time, couldn't get back out.
Did you understand what's going on here? Well I just gained new respect for Mikluha! Imagine - to survive four weeks in this shit, and not to lose any of your guys either!
(dialogues with random Freedomers)
Even Dutyers who arrived in Pripyat after the Scorcher shutdown were impressed by his actions:
In the formerly inaccessible zone one of the Freedom detachments was discovered. How did they manage to get through unharmed and then survive a few weeks here? Can't even imagine. I guess we underestimated these guys.

Freedom faults:
  • They started the conflict with Duty
The conflict between the two factions, which reached its greatest proportions during Clear Sky events, was started by Freedom, as mentioned by Orest:
Duty is trying to destroy the Zone, Freedom is trying to destroy Duty, and the bandits are using any chance they get to shovel some more money in. I've had enough and I won't take it any more. I've travelled the Zone on my own and even stood with Freedom for a while. But as soon as they started talking about whacking Duty, I put my skates on and sailed.
Chekhov himself even mentions that fighting Duty is their priority:
Duty seeks to destroy the Zone and appropriate its secrets. We must stop them. Our main job is to fight Duty.
It's worth to note that later on, the conflict became less important, since both factions started to focus on their own thing. In Shadow of Chernobyl we may learn that the factions have occasional ceasefires during which the members of both groups even meet and talk:
I meet up with one of the Duty men when there's a cease-fire. We share. The man's actually smart, but, shit, narrow-minded like your tank. You see, our philosophy is completely different from theirs: you can only tame the Zone, assimilate it, but not destroy it.
(dialogue with a random Freedomer)

  • Their questionable actions under Lukash command
When Freedom was led by Chekhov, they wanted to study the Zone and let others do so as well. However, as already mentioned, it seems that Lukash has different views on things.
One stalker in the 100 Rads bar mentions that Freedom supposedly sabotages some research groups:
To the North, not far from the Brain Scorcher, Freedom have set up their HQ in an old military base. They're notorious nihilists, anarchists and criminals - freedom fighters, freaking guerrillas all of them. All they do is sabotage research groups, attack army units and constantly skirmish with Duty.
In fact, in contrary to his predecessor, Lukash doesn't seem to care about studying the Zone, and is more eager to prevent the government from doing so - he orders attacks on the military, because he doesn't want them to turn the Zone into a "research zoo":
The military are staging a gradual Zone takeover. We need to slow them down, otherwise the Zone will turn into a research zoo. One of the military camps is right by the Agroprom. If you manage to purge the place a bit, it will slow down Zone's takeover by the army.
(description of "Destroy the military camp" task)
Marked One also notes that Freedom is not willing to help the scientists when speaking with Kruglov. It seems that the faction drastically changed its behavior after the leader change in 2012. However, it must be mentioned that the Freedomers from the detachment led by Loki in Call of Pripyat are still keen to help the scientists at Yanov.
Another example of Lukash having quite extreme ways of protecting the Zone is the fact that he orders a hit on a stalker who sells stuffed mutants, and is against hunting them in general:
We eliminate monsters, expect for us it's a matter of survival, not profit. Mutant populations are not as numerous; besides, they're living beings too, so we can't permit their annihilation. Some individuals refuse to understand it. An apt illustration is the stalker called Scarecrow. He got his nickname for a reason, selling stuffed mutants. We've warned him before, but all for nothing. So can you do a good deed for mother Earth?
(description of "Kill the stalker called Scarecrow" task)

  • Their actions could pose a threat to the world
It doesn't apply just to Freedom, but rather to everyone besides Duty, scientists and the military - artifacts smuggled into the wrong hands at the Big Land can be dangerous. It's possible that some artifacts are capable of generating anomalies, as mentioned by Yar in Clear Sky:
I'll tell you about artifacts. What's an artifact? It's a cluster of anomalous energy, kinda like a stock cube. There's also artifacts that can...err...what's that damn word...ah, right...ge-ne-ra-te anomalies! I think that's how Chekhov says it. Anyway, only problem is, once the artifact generates an anomaly it's as good as useless. The anomaly itself ain't exactly powerful nor does it last long, but it's good enough to delay someone or knock 'em off your trail altogether.
Of course, majority of stalkers came to the Zone with the intention of enriching themselves on artifacts, so it's not just Freedom that could be held accountable of any potential anomaly outbreaks or other incidents; however it is Freedom that actively and methodically fights any attempts of bringing some kind of control and order to the Zone, which could prevent such events from happening.
Besides, even though there is no evidence that the Zone is growing, it still could endanger the rest of the world - for instance, even though it's unlikely, the possibility that some mutants could leave the Zone and pose a threat cannot be ruled out. Freedom's assaults on the military and skirmishes with Duty certainly do not reduce the probability of such thing happening.
Have you heard the rumor that the Zone is growing? I think it's true 'cause I've seen real scary mutants near the perimeter, ones that you could only meet near the center of the Zone before. Not good, eh?
(dialogue with a random stalker)

  • They have plenty of bad apples in their ranks
It seems that Freedom tends to attract some real nutjobs. A well-known example is the alleged cannibal who can be encountered at Freedom base in Shadow of Chernobyl. Another Freedomer warns Marked One and mentions what they did to someone who was annoying them:
Behave, OK? Got it? Try fooling around and you'll be sorry. We had a slow-witted one here once; he pissed everyone off so bad that we made him take a hike on the minefield - naked. You should have heard Skinflint cursing when that dude's arm fell square on his head! That was something special... yeah... So, you got the idea?
As can be seen, not all Freedomers are laid-back and easy-going. Moreover, they happen to be betrayed by their own people - other groups and factions also have corrupt members in their ranks, but Freedom seems to be particularly vulnerable to incidents involving them.
In Shadow of Chernobyl one experienced member of Freedom, Pavlik, was leaking informations about his faction to the Mercs; a similar situation happened in the past, when Lingov, the commandant of Freedom, was also selling his faction out. What's worse, Lingov was one of its founders:
I didn't expect him to do this! I've known him for ages! We hunted for our first artifacts together, we made Freedom what it is today! I trusted him with all the operational planning, and he just went and sold us out...
(dialogue with Chekhov)
In Call of Pripyat we encounter Flint, or rather Magpie, who endangered and took advantage of other stalkers. When the situation became clear, some stalkers took note of the fact that Freedom accepted him without checking who he was:
Have you heard the kind of people Freedom recruits nowadays? There was this fella called Flint, bragged left and right about his escapades and trophies... well, he turned out to be the scum of the earth. Left his buddy to die in an anomaly, grabbed his loot and took off. Later they uncovered more of his exploits over at Zaton, where he basically fed a group of hunters to a chimera. I used to think better of Freedom... Hell, I'd rather be factionless than have friends like that.

  • Extra trivia - debunking myths
This is unrelated with the rest of the post, but I wanted to clarify some false informations about Freedom.
- They are neutral/friendly towards bandits
This can be seen in some mods, but such thing has no place in the original games. Both in Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat Freedomers fights with bandits. What's more, some dialogues from Clear Sky imply that bandits could take over the base in the Dark Valley by force:
My pals and I want to head for the Dark Valley and take a bite out of those Freedom cats. Only we can't do that without Yoga's permission - he's the boss around here. I don't feel too comfortable stepping up to him, so we're still mulling it over for now.
(random dialogue with a bandit)
Gee, I thought we had enough misery, but no - now even the bandits are plotting something nasty for us.
(dialogue with Ganja)
It looks like this area is gonna be Freedom territory pretty soon. They've really stepped up their fight here ever since they sorted out their internal problems. They have a presence here and in Limansk, and they're still holding onto the Dark Valley. I say "still" because they've spread themselves pretty damn thin: they're fighting for Limansk, the military base and they've also got their HQ in the Dark Valley. I have a strong feeling the bandits are gonna start pushing them out of there. Think about it: all you need is one brainy bandit to grasp the situation and take full advantage by putting a good squeeze on Freedom. That's what I'd do if I were them.
(random dialogue with a stalker)
Freedom is neutral with bandits in Shadow of Chernobyl, but this is due to technical reasons; members of the both groups never meet in the game, and there are no dialogues or anything which would imply that they get along. Similarly, Freedom doesn't have good relations with Mercs for most of the time, and they certainly are not allies.
- Freedom and mutants
There are no dialogues which would allude to any unconventional attitude of Freedomers towards mutants, besides the aforementioned dialogue with Lukash. Here are fragments of some dialogues that show what attitude they really have towards the bloodsuckers:
There's nothing new. There are no more artifacts here, and in those little cottages bloodsuckers used to live, we shot them off best as we could.
(random dialogue with a Freedomer)
Man, will you look at all those bloodsucking monsters swarming in the village! No one gets within a hundred meters of it, except complete dumbheads.
(dialogue with Lukash)
Lately, no one has been bringing any artifacts from the village - they are too scared. They say bloodsuckers have settled in there.
(dialogue with Skinflint)
As can be seen, they either kill them or avoid them. The well-known meme isn't backed up by any lore element.

2023.05.28 17:53 Crafty_Republic_3375 What would you do?

Hi everyone! My husband (41) and myself (28) have been together 7 years, married for 4 of them. We have two kids under 3. I’m struggling because when he’s around others he is an amazing, sweet guy but when he’s home with me he’s cold, grumpy and honestly just seems miserable a lot of the time.
At the beginning of our relationship he was great to me! But since having kids he’s changed a lot. When we’ve argued in the past he gets very defensive and starts attacking me, calling me names, saying I have no friends and that I’m a loser who has nothing going for me in life. These are things that I would never ever say to him, the worst I’ve ever called him or said to him is that he’s an asshole. I have also been doing online classes for the past year getting my diploma in something I love and he has never once asked me about how it’s going, I even asked him the other day if he knew what diploma I was taking and he didn’t know. My grandma has also been in the ICU for the past month, I went to see her the other day and came home and he didn’t even bother to ask how she was or show any concern.
Another thing, this happened last night…so I haven’t left my husband home alone for an evening with both kids in 18 months (since before my son was even born) I went to a concert and I was so excited to have a night off from mom duties for once. The entire night I had text after text about how miserable my son was and sending me photos of him crying and asking when I was coming home which honestly ruined my night. When I got home, he didn’t ask how the show was, just asked how ā€œforeheadā€ was (lol) referring to my girlfriend I went with who he says has a huge forehead. Just so weird and rude.
A year ago we got into a huge argument because I was at my breaking point of how he was talking to me all the time and making me feel small. He threatened to have me beat up by bikers if I left with the kids and he would find a way to keep them away from me etc… I ended up calling the cops and took the kids to my moms, got a lawyer and was pursuing a divorce. However after a month of no contact he messaged me, proclaiming his love and told me how he’s been treating me is wrong and he was sorry etc and I forgave him and decided to work it out. I moved back in and now it seems like everything is back to how it used to be. He’s always telling me I’m too sensitive when I stick up for myself and that if I feel a certain way about something he says to me it’s my responsibility and not his because they’re my feelings. He can worm his way out of anything and everything by throwing everything back on me.
We very rarely spend one on one time together because our kids are so young. When I bring up how I want to prioritize our relationship and go on dates to reconnect etc, he gets annoyed and makes excuses. And I don’t think there’s anyone else because I have checked his phone and there is nothing suspicious!
I guess I just don’t know what to do and am looking for advice. Because my kids are still so young, if I’m going to leave I want to do it sooner than later so they don’t remember. But I also want to be able to tell them I tried everything I could to work it out. It just honestly seems impossible when I’m the only one fighting for the relationship.

2023.05.28 17:45 Difficult-Emu7983 I feel uncomfortable

A few weeks ago, my boyfriend and I relocated due to him getting a good paying job. We decided to move in with my bf’s friend (also relocated for the same job) to save money. My bf and his friend didn’t seem like very healthy friends, they argued quite a bit about almost everything and I didn’t think it was a great idea to all move in altogether considering I also didn’t get really get good vibes from this friend. When they decided we were going to move in together, this friend had other roommates and coworkers that would complain about his temper and attitude which should’ve been a red flag to my bf and he would come over to our previous place and say things like ā€œoh this isn’t gonna fly at our place when we move in, it’s gonna be different and spotlessā€ he would make these comments often and that alone would drive me mad. Despite my expressed concerns, it ultimately was up to my bf so he made the decision to move in. The two of them got here and settled in a couple of weeks before me because I was visiting family and getting our cat and my bf had already told me about a fight that happened between them about our dog who peed on the tile because he got scared of the friend.. they had only been there for a few days. When I arrived, I was very excited to be here and reunite w my bf and our dog and it was awesome to be here… for a few days. A few days after arriving, the same argument over our dog happened except seemingly worse. His friend said ā€œif this happens again, your dog is outā€ and my. bf said ā€œfuck you, you aren’t kicking our dog out it’s not his fault you scared himā€ and his friend went into a rage. He pushed him and took his shirt off trying to fight him and started saying that he’s going to kick us out and lie to the police because we aren’t on the lease (this is what made the price of living together much cheaper I guess, to not be on the lease) he also called my bf a narcissist, said we didn’t know how to act like adults (lol) and some other pathetic insults. I didn’t say anything during this time because it’s a little traumatic for me when things like this happen and I kind of just shut down so I just stayed in our room. After this happened, it became very tense in our place, our pets aren’t allowed to be out in the living room and I don’t feel comfortable out there when he is so I kind of just am a prisoner to our room. Two weeks pass and the friend starts talking to my boyfriend again, no apology, just starts acting normal again I assume because he needs a weed plug. I question my bf about this and he says he’s just trying to be civil but it seems like more than that when so hear them laughing out there and see them texting. I know it wasn’t my argument but I’m upset because my bf talked to me about it a lot and I thought he finally saw how badly he’s been treated by this ā€œfriendā€ for awhile now.. never happy for his accomplishments, always trying to tear him down, consistently arguing over some bs. It’s messed up too because I wasn’t involved whatsoever yet, this friend acts super passive aggressively towards me but not my bf and I have been nothing but nice I feel.. for example, I was really sick the past couple of days and I made some broth yesterday and I made too much so I was gonna drink one cup and then come back for the other one when I finished (less than 30mins) and I hear a slam sound and I go out there to see my broth pot just got thrown in the sink.. he didn’t even say anything to me.. I’m just so upset. I can’t talk to this friend because he scares me and is kind of aggressive (not physically but still) and he reminds me of my mom. I only just started my serving job and I need a car so we can’t get a new place. I just want to be able to use the living room or put my plants or crystals or a rug out and he won’t let us put anything out there. We also pay more than him due to us having pets and two of us. Does anyone have any advice to feel at peace?

2023.05.28 17:44 EgglessYolker AITA for helping my boss plan the mass murder of an entire prison?

So I (M56) recently got a job as the head warden of a super max prison facility (I can’t name it for legal reasons) that was essentially a large portion of a city with wall as around it, my boss told me to help him make a plan to kill all the clinically insane clowns, penguins and rabbis that we had put in it as what was called protocol ten and after activation it the local superhero called ā€œManā€ has climbed into my penthouse and I’m reflecting on what has happened and I think the entire city being bombed is beautiful but I’m not sure Man agrees AITA

2023.05.28 17:38 hakaareh Is it really worth it to wait for an Assyrian?

Hi everyone, I don’t mean to be controversial with my title. I just want to voice my perspective and have others chip in theirs, especially since I don’t know many Assyrians IRL.
I’m in my mid 20’s. Before marriage really wasn’t on my radar and I was busy with my studies. Now that I’m getting older I’m taking it more seriously. I know not all Assyrians/Chaldeans are the same, but the vast majority I have met in my large diaspora center, I do not get along with. I never felt accepted among my own and my entire social circle is nakhraye. But, I also am an immigrant myself and grew up only speaking Sureth at home, so I often feel caught between two worlds. I want my children, in the future, to have that upbringing I did, minus the unhealthy parts. However the Assyrian men I’ve met my age mock me for those values and call me a ā€œboaterā€ / ā€œFOBā€.
When it comes to Assyrian men, I also have not encountered any ones that can offer a healthy … anything. Unfortunately our culture encourages a lot of double standards and, hate to say it ā€œtoxic masculinityā€. Like other Middle Eastern men, Assyrian men tend to think that their only duty is to provide and nothing else. I saw the women struggle around me because of emotionally absentee fathers and abusive husbands. I refuse to continue that cycle. Assyrian men also tend to pick up foreign habits in diaspora while also having the Middle Eastern mentality, which makes them even worse.
I feel like I would be wasting my life just waiting for an Assyrian, and I don’t know if I’d ever feel fully comfortable with one. Our culture places little value on love, but that’s why I’d want to get married. I don’t want to keep waiting and shutting off good men that can offer me something, just to marry someone from my own background who will probably treat me badly. What is your experiences?
