https://imgur.com/a/X5HmKMA
Disclaimer I am an extreme amatuer when it comes to landscaping and construction. My wife and I had this idea to create a little relaxation spot in our yard last year with some hammocks, flowers, plants, and ample shade. Our goal was to have a little getaway from the hot sun during the Summer. We want it to look nice and also provide substantial shade and this is where we are running into lack of ideas on how to proceed. As you can see in the pictures, I originally hung string and lights from the top corner of the house and then put a mesh shade covering over the top. You can also see that it is pretty ugly looking. It is functional and provides some shade, but we want to improve the look because from the outside looking in, it looks like the work of an 8 year old. In fact, I am going to take it down due to pure hideousness. My initial thought to remediate this issue would be to run beams from the main post to the 4 outer posts and then lay some type of covering over that, but I am nervous that the final look would not be any better. I would like advice on what would be best to use to provide better shade after adding the beams or if there is a different design I should think of. You will also notice that if you are looking at the right entryway (from outside the hammock area) there is a space between the house and post that the sun penetrates and will burn your eyes out if you lay in that outside hammock. What could we do there that would block out the sun? If anyone has any recommendations about that we are open to ideas, any help is appreciated. I can provide more information if needed. Thanks in advance! less

2023.06.04 23:53 LARGE_n_FKN_nCHARGE Do insulated metal cups/mugs change the taste of tea at all?

I had been eyeing some tasty looking teas from The Tea Spot recently but have never had the equipment to steep loose leaf teas so when I saw Hydroflask was running a sale on their insulated mugs I picked up a 24 oz mug and a oxo metal basket infuser to use as a little budget setup at my desk. I'm really enjoying the first loose leaf tea I've tried, the Bolder Breakfast from The Tea Spot, but I notice that once I'm half way done with the mug and the tea has cooled, every sip I go for has a strong metallic, almost watermelon-y smell to it, which is probably par for the course with a metal mug but I failed to consider this beforehand. I don't use the lid on this mug partially because this tea is seriously one of the best things I've ever smelled with it's chocolatelyness but I'm curious as to whether or not using the lid would "fix" the metallicness because I can't smell it or if it actually has any effect on the flavor in your guys' experience.
Thanks!

2023.06.04 23:51 _thicculent_ My yard is a jungle!

My yard is a jungle!
I am 4 weeks postpartum with a backyard that had gone feral. The garden is in a similar state - I think my husband and I were a little ambitious this year! Lol!
I love love love seeing all the green clover and flowers, but am laughing at myself because I didn't realize I chose the TALL variety. LOL! There are also other grasses mixed in from a different company that are supposed to do well with low water. I kind of went crazy constantly pouring out seed over the backyard. Worth it though because I haven't had to water my lawn this spring, while the neighbors are already struggling to keep their sod alive.
I know technically this is still a lawn, but it's only the beginning for us. My front yard has already been converted to almost entirely to a mulch bed with 20+ natives planted, and some apples and lilacs because I couldn't resist.
Eventually I want to get more food and natives in the back, and maybe two fruit trees if I can figure out a good spot. The hard part is working around the septic tank that runs diagonal across the right top of the yard. Also, I am battling bamboo shoots from my neighbor on the left side :( I think mowing over there is going to be the best bet to save us time on maintenance.
Check the before pictures. This yard was completely covered in landscaping tarp that had layers of dirt and grass growing over it. Imagine it brown, crunchy, and DEAD.
My husband and I spent HOURS over last year and a half tearing it all up by hand, renting a sod cutter to take out the crap sod, and then finally bringing in FIVE DUMPTRUCKS of dirt that my husband had to move to the backyard with a push tractor.
Then I got us a giant delivery of mulch from Chip Drop to start the garden. I am going with the no till method and chose mulch to start out the layers. We got lucky this early spring and found morels growing in the vegetable garden on top of the mulch!
This is rambling, but I have been stuck in my house recovering and really miss my garden. If you have had a baby in sure you understand lol! I hope this post provides some inspiration to others that are looking to do a giant project with limited help.

2023.06.04 23:50 PillowBird- Advertised hours were 5-130. Not once have I gotten done before 3.

Started a new job beginning of last month, as a merchandisesalesman for a large corporation. Advertised hours on job posting were 5-130. Haven’t worked a week under 50 hours yet, last week four out of my five days I skipped my thirty minute lunch break in order to be done by 4’o clock. Sent out on my own after one week of training, expected to know what displays to build, take down, location of product and to know how to condense new product and back stock upon entering the store for the first time in my life. I’ve never been in these stores before, I don’t know the managers, receivers. Nothing. I’m expected to communicate with them? I don’t even know when their shift starts, or who they are. I barely have time to work the six+ pallet loads, let alone set up a completely new display. It’s overwhelming, it’s exhausting. I get home at 530 and I have to be in bed by 8 if I’m hoping to get eight hours of sleep. Two and half hours of personal time to run errands and cook dinner. I have Sunday and Wednesday off(if they don’t ask me to work). No time to recharge so I’m burnt the next day with twice the work. At my first meeting they’re discussing key points to the group. One was “why is our turnover rate so high?” Because the job fucking sucks! We’re understaffed. I really spent 9 hours working one extremely busy and crowded store, no break. And I’m expected to perfectly merchandise a second before I go home. Got a call the next day complaining about my performance at the second store. I’ll milk the pay for as long as I can and then I’m out. It’s soulless, unfulfilling, repetitive labor that’s unappreciated. We provide what’s essentially poison in a bottle for people to consume. Fuck these corporations. Too bad it’s the best I’ve ever been paid, but it still doesn’t feel like enough to prosper.

2023.06.04 23:34 _Anonymous_one So done with this show now!

Well done BGT. You really have become an absolute joke now, and I think you will lose a lot of viewers next year from this
Can’t believe they’ve gone from Axel Blake, a genuinely funny, likeable, talented bloke to….this absolute knobhead who is not even funny, just an annoying, obnoxious bellend with no talent whatsoever. Anyone could do what he does. Just one year later, is this really the best they’ve got? Have the public gone fucking loopy? It was bad enough that he won a semi final, but to win the whole fucking series? You mean to tell me he beat Musa, Lillianna, etc.? You mean to tell me he got in ahead of MB14, someone who actually has talent?
This has gotta be a joke. If not, the judges should be ashamed for putting him through to the semis in the first place. He stole a spot from talented acts. Worst winner ever. No winner of this show will ever top him for being the worst ever. Cos you can’t get a worse winner than him. Can’t believe this is the same show that made Diversity so popular, it’s laughable! This show is so done, whether it comes back next year or not, its credibility is in the shitter after this. Used to think this show was great, but not anymore

2023.06.04 23:33 whereAreMyKeysAt Small Hive Beetles Next Steps

Location: Virginia Beach, VA
I'm fairly new to beekeeping and looking for guidance. I have a SHB infestation. It's time to call my hive a loss. I do not have any supers on and I've tried to manage them through traditional methods (oil trays, beetle jails, swiffer pads, and good old squishing, and compressing the hive so the bees don't have to patrol so much space). I want to know what my next steps are.
According to this article, it suggests I should treat with Checkmite+ but I can't seem to find it in stock anywhere. Does anyone know what's going on with that. I have other hives in the area that I'm worried about was also planning to complete the soil treatment they recommended (GardStar® 40% EC).
I have the hives in a semi-sunny location over mulch but I think I should change that material (long-term) or put down a barrier to prevent SHB going into the ground and coming back up.
What should I do if I can't get my hands on Checkmite soon. I was thinking getting a fresh box and frames and shaking the remaining bees into that clean box. I'll do my best to ensure no SHB come with them and put in all the usual safety measures I mentioned above in place. I'd then scrape all my frames, wash and freeze for minimum of 3 days, right?
Thanks in advance for your help!

2023.06.04 23:29 sideswipe781 UFC 289 Betting Preview

Staked: 193.15u, Profit/Loss: +8.41u, ROI: 4.36%, Parlay Suggestions: 51-21
Scroll down for UFC 289 Breakdowns. Below is just a review of last week’s bets.
UFC Vegas 74
Staked: 18.70u
Profit/Loss: -3.31u
Parlay Suggestions: 3-2
✅ 2u Alex Caceres to Win & Arlovski/Mayes Over 1.5 Rounds (+100)
❌ 2u Jim Miller & Jamie Mullarkey to Win (-125)
✅ 2.5u Jim Miller ITD (-105)
✅ 0.5u Jim Miller in Round 1 (+235)
❌ 2u Abubakar Nurmagomedov to Win (-105)
❌ 1.5u Andrei Arlovski to Win by Decision (+200)
❌ 2u Muin Gafarov to Win (-125)
❌ 3u Luan Lacerda to Win (-125)❌ 1u Luan Lacerda to Win by Submission or Decision (+100)
2u Philipe Lins to Win (+140)
Once again I was my own worst enemy, making some good reads once I initially dropped the preview (Lins, Caceres, Elliott) but consistently made tweaks in the build-up that sent things south. I really need to be more disciplined and block out the noise once I’ve made my initial conclusions. I remember when I started posting here I was tipping about four bets maximum…now I apparently have action across almost every fight.
Going forward I think I’ll stop analysing each bet in this section, as no-one seems to really comment on that stuff and it just eats into the overall character count.
So let’s get into the PPV.
UFC 289
This is a weird, weird PPV card. I guess they kind of have to have a title fight at the top of the billing over a number-one contender bout as co-main, but to see Mike Malott, Nate Landwehr and Eryk Anders perform before Charles Oliveira…and then Amanda Nunes as the main event, is quite funny. Canadian MMA has been in ruins since GSP and Rory MacDonald left the UFC, and none of the guys on this card are not the one to restore its glory.
I know I say it every time the PPV event rolls around, but MMA oddsmakers are very sharp for these higher profile events. Once again I find myself coming to very similar conclusions for a lot of the fights here, so I very much expect this one to be a much smaller slate for me. Definitely a good idea given what I said in the review of last week.

Amanda Nunes v Irene Aldana
There’s a very loud narrative surrounding Amanda Nunes these days, and it’s a hard one to ignore. Having been in the UFC for a decade and holding a title for 7 years, there’s literally nothing left for her to do. She’s had the big money fights that Women’s MMA can offer (Rousey, Cyborg & the “redemption” sequel with Pena), and she doesn’t seem interested in setting up another fight with Shevchenko (who, to be fair, she’s beaten twice). What else is there for Nunes to be motivated for?
Outside the cage, She’s started a family with Nina Ansaroff, who also retired very recently and has spoken about wanting a second child with Nunes. The Brazilian has spoken quite candidly about her aspirations to retire very soon as well, and I believe that she would have laid her gloves in the centre of the Octagon if she’d beaten Pena in their initial meeting. She had to right the wrongs in the sequel, but a victory over Pena at UFC 289 to make it 2-1 in the series was probably enough of a narrative for Nunes to put her career to bed then and there. It’s a bold prediction, but I have a hunch that Nunes has done this whole training camp knowing it’s going to be her last.
Unfortunately, Pena was forced to withdraw and Irene Aldana steps in to challenge for the belt instead. Mexican MMA is absolutely booming right now, with three champions in the last few months, and the stage really feels set for Aldana. She’s always had very impressive boxing, as well as some opportunistic submissions…but her inability to stuff takedowns has often been her undoing in her career. Given that Nunes has relied heavily on her wrestling in recent years (20 takedowns in her last 4 wins), I think it’s fair to say Nunes should once again be favoured here.
Women’s Bantamweight and Featherweight have been underdeveloped weight classes for some time now, where the same names that were competing for the belt in like 2019 are still in the top 5 (looking at you Holly Holm!). The next generation seems to have broken through at Flyweight, with Valentina losing her last two title defences (not officially, but I scored the first one quite confidently for Santos). Nunes has been fortunate enough to govern over a division that doesn’t have many of those up-and-coming prospects yet, but those on the rise are still training and competing in a modern MMA context more frequently than the champion – which makes me think the changing of the guard could happen sometime soon. (For more on this, I asked a hypothetical question in the comment section).
So, overall, I think there are a lot of valid asterisks on Nunes’ name at the moment, and I think her career is coming to an end sometime soon, if not after this fight. However, if she’s fighting at her optimum then Aldana’s weaknesses can certainly be exploited, and are enough to deem her the Champion as favourite. With that said, I actually think Aldana could more than hold her own in the striking, so I would already be lining this one closer than Nunes normally is…and after adding in the narrative that surrounds the fight I think it gets even closer.
Therefore, I’ll be playing a 0.5u “value bet” on Aldana. It’s not something I expect to win, but I think her chances of winning are much greater than the odds available.
How I line this fight: Amanda Nunes -175 (64%), Irene Aldana +175 (36%)
Bet or Pass: 0.5u Irene Aldana to Win (+300)
Notable Props: I'd encourage you to play Nunes by Submission or Decision if you wanted to play her.

Charles Oliveira v Beneil Dariush
Oh this is a spicy one. Charles Oliveira holds a special place in my heart as being my favourite fighter of all time, and he’s the fighter I’ve definitely made the most money on in my time betting on MMA. At the start of that massive win streak he went on, you could get a decent price on Oliveira ITD against so many prelim guys, and the underdog prices available against Kevin Lee, Tony Ferguson, Michael Chandler and Dustin Poirier were even better.
But, as we know, Islam Makhachev exists and did a sensational job against Oliveira. Such a good job in fact, that I expect it to be footage that Beneil Dariush and his camp have dissected in great detail.
Dariush is an equally exciting fighter to watch. He’s got a brilliant skillset, but he’s not particularly athletic which makes him a very unassuming fighter. He looks like some bloke that works in HR in your office…not an elite Lightweight UFC fighter.
I think Dariush’s BJJ abilities are going to be the key to this fight, as we’ve seen many times in his career already. High level BJJ is a brilliant quality because not only does it make you dangerous at finishing fights, it also improves your defence and provides the platform for a wrestling based offence. We saw Dariush make full use of this in his wins over Tony Ferguson, Carlos Diego Ferreira (x2) and Thiago Moises, as well as his takedown defence on display against Gamrot. I feel like he’s going to be able to dictate where the fight takes place here.
What interests me is the competitiveness of the striking. If you’ve been watching this sport religiously for over seven years, you’ll still remember when Dariush was thought to have a glass jaw, where the likes of Alex Hernandez, Drew Dober and Drakkar Klose hurt him badly with strikes. I feel like Dariush has had quite favourable matchmaking against that weakness on his recent streak, and Oliveira is potentially one of the biggest threats he’s faced on the feet in recent years in terms of power.
On the flipside, Oliveira is still as reckless as ever, and has been knocked down or hurt in each of his last four title fights. Only Makhachev came away with a win in those fights, because his grappling was at a good enough level that he was happy to follow Charles down to the mat when he knocked him down, and capitalised fully to secure the submission soon after. Dariush has sneaky power himself, and if he is able to land a knockdown on Oliveira then I think we see him capitalise too.
The volatility is going to be massive in this fight, as both men are hard hitters with durability concerns (maybe not in a fight ending sense, but they frequently get rocked). With that in mind, I think any sort of finish is going to be very live in this fight. If not, I think you have to give Dariush the decision winning potential, as I think his ability to find top position is greater than Oliveira’s. It’s enough to make Benny the favourite, but not by a whole lot. I think the books have got this one priced spot on, actually.
How I line this fight: Charles Oliveira +110 (48%), Beneil Dariush -110 (52%)
Bet or Pass: Pass
Notable Props: FDGTD is probably a decent parlay piece at -200 or better
Live Betting Lean: I think the longer this fight goes, the more it favours Dariush due to his round winning superiority.

Mike Malott v Adam Fugitt
Honestly the fact that I’m breaking down this fight straight after Oliveira v Dariush is hilarious. I wouldn’t even question it if this was on the prelims of an Apex card.
I underestimated Mike Malott in his last fight against Yohan Lainesse, and my take was so bad that I looked like an idiot. He impressed me a lot, and I think he impressed the UFC too for them to give him this spot on the main card.
Malott looks to have really good submission ability, but I’m still a bit concerned that his striking might be a few too many steps behind. People will say things looked improved in the Lainesse fight, but I think that was more a case of Lainesse having no real interest in engaging or committing to his strikes in the early goings (he has become gunshy as to manage cardio). The fight against Mickey Gall was a massive, massive red flag for Malott…no one in the UFC should really be getting outstruck by Gall. That footage was from a year ago though, so there’s a chance he has improved things since then…but I don’t think you can really use the Lainesse fight as evidence of that.
Malott faces Adam Fugitt, who took the ‘sacrificial lamb’ approach to entering the UFC when he was paired up with Michael Morales – who is lowkey a very bright young prospect. It’s important not to judge a fighter by their performance in that type of fight, it’s best to instead treat their sophomore fight as their ‘real’ debut. We saw that with Fugitt, as he dominated Yusaku Kinoshita as a +260 underdog earlier this year.
I was quite impressed with Fugitt in his loss to Morales. His striking clearly wasn’t on Morales’ level, and he’ll have to be careful of Malott’s powerful hands, but he showed decent defensive awareness and had a couple of moments of his own. Fugitt’s a bit too kick heavy for my liking, but it looks like it confuses opponents and actually works well at establishing range. It did exactly that in his Solomon Renfro win.
Malott’s fight against Renfro however, despite only being 90 seconds long, really sums up his abilities as a fighter. He was getting tagged on the feet, but managed to find one moment to land a powerful shot and sinked in a choke in the blink of an eye. He was losing 98% of that fight convincingly.
The big question for this fight revolves around Fugitt’s grappling ability on bottom, and initial takedown defence, as that’s where most of Malott’s win equity is going to be. Unfortunately we have not actually seen him defensive grapple, so honestly it’s impossible to accurately line this fight given how integral it should be. The only inclination I have is that Fugitt’s takedowns have looked really good in his two fights. DC was very impressed with how he got Morales down, and his trips were also looking on point against Kinoshita. He did great work on top as well when he did establish position, and worked his way to a finish efficiently.
However, there can sometimes be a big disparity between a wrestler’s grappling ability on top vs on bottom, which is why BJJ is so important to MMA (see the breakdown of Dariush!). Therefore, complimenting Fugitt’s top position grappling doesn’t mean a whole lot, as he could be atrocious on bottom, and even if he does use wrestling himself he’s going to dive headfirst into Malott’s nasty guillotine.
So in conclusion, you can’t have super strong opinions on this fight, but you can deduce that Malott has more ways to win. If Fugitt isn’t winning via striking, it’s likely he’s not winning at all. Malott, on the other hand, could win with a big shot on the feet, through takedowns and top control of his own, or even from a guard submission on bottom.
Therefore, with Malott being the hometown hero and likely taking all the betting action on the moneyline, I think the books have the liberty to juice his odds a fair bit. -200 is probably an example of that, but it’s not too far off where I’d line this fight. There are still enough unknowns about both men that I wouldn’t be too surprised to see Fugitt pull off the upset, but I think the +170 available on him in return isn’t providing a whole lot of value. Smart work by the oddsmakers.
How I line this fight: Mike Malott -175 (64%), Adam Fugitt +175 (36%)
Bet or Pass: Pass
Notable Props: Malott by Submission would be the bet I’d make at +200 or better if someone told me I had to. Won’t be playing it though.

Dan Ige v Nate Landwehr
Well it seems the UFC matchmakers have confirmed their position on Dan Ige. He’s a top 15 gatekeeper now! His string of losses to Evloev, Emmett, Korean Zombie and Kattar did put one too many nails in his title aspiration coffin, but those bounce-back performances against Gavin Tucker and Damon Jackson were pretty impressive to me.
Ige is still a very, very tricky fighter to beat because he’s so well rounded, as most of the top 15 at Featherweight are. Ige faces Nate Landwehr, who has been on an entertaining run of form in the UFC – beating the likes of Ludovit Klein, David Onama and Austin Lingo. Whilst running through his record, it is important to note he went to a close decision in a striking bout against Darren Elkins, and also lost to Herbert Burns and Julian Erosa.
As I say quite often in higher level FeatheBantam/Fly-Weight breakdowns, they’re very tricky divisions to identify skill gaps in. The elite in the division are all very well-rounded offensively and defensively, so it often feels like you’re splitting hairs when you’re trying to find attributes that favour one fighter over the other.
The same can kind of be said here, except Dan Ige has the much better record in terms of actual wins and overall experience. If I imagine Nate Landwehr competing against Ige’s last eight opponents, I genuinely think he might win 1 or 2 of them…whilst Ige has won 4, not been finished in any of the losses and given a good account of himself on each scorecard (except the Evloev loss).
So honestly, the only real thing I feel I can reference here in terms of differentiating between both men is ‘levels’…but I genuinely think that’s enough for Ige to be about -200 here. You can’t go any further than that because this fight should still be reasonably competitive, but given what Ige has done to the opponents he’s stepped down in competition for (Damon Jackson, Gavin Tucker), I think you can have a certain degree of confidence that he should find that extra 10% to clearly win this fight. That equates to around -175 in my mind.
How I line this fight: Dan Ige -175 (64%), Nate Landwehr +175 (36%)
Bet or Pass: Pass
Notable Props: Ige ITD could be of some interest, as he’s started showing real power in his hands, and Landwehr is quite finish-able in his losses.

Marc-Andre Barriault v Eryk Anders
Eryk Anders is one of the most frustrating guys to watch. He had so much athleticism and decent skills, but just doesn’t put his best foot forward. Barely any evolution to his game, poor fight IQ…but the occasional glimmers of potential – enough to stop you from writing him off despite his constant underdelivering.
Marc-Andre Barriault is kind of the opposite really. He’s a jack-of-all-trades, master of none…but he will do everything in his power to maximise his advantages to turn the fight in his favour. He isn’t a physical specimen and doesn’t really have much power…but he can hustle hard for 15 minutes and use a mixture of striking, takedowns and clinch work to win rounds.
Anders has actually had some of his better performances in recent fights, looking in great shape and form against Kyle Daukaus, arguably beating Jun Yong Park by decision, and outpoint + KO’ing Darren Stewart (x2) beforehand.
If this fight was happening two years ago, MAB would be like -200 here due to his reliability to out-hustle Anders, but his recent performances have been a little bit lacklustre (Hernandez ragdolled him and Chidi Njokuani folded him like a deckchair). Couple that with the fact that Anders FINALLY looks to be growing into the potential he’s always been on the cusp of with a recent change in training camp…I think you’re looking at a closely lined fight here.
I predict this one ends up being a 29-28, possibly split decision type of fight. One man has activity whilst the other has power. The subjectivity of judging will be in full effect and everyone will call this one a robbery, depending on who they bet on.
How I line this fight: Marc-Andre Barriault +100 (50%), Eryk Anders +100 (50%)
Bet or Pass: Pass
Notable Props: Barriault by Decision would probably be my preferred choice.

Jasmine Jasudavicius v Miranda Maverick
Miranda Maverick is a Women’s MMA fighter that I hold in very high regard. The back-to-back losses put a real halt to her hype train, but I think she’s easily got Top 10 potential and got robbed against Maycee Barber anyway. I think her style is one that can very easily exploit a lot of opponents in her division. Her striking’s okay, but her wrestling and top pressure are very dominant tools.
She takes on Jasmine Jasudavicius, who has also used her wrestling ability to good effect in the UFC/DWCS so far. Neither woman is a particularly good striker, and I expect this one to turn into a bit of a scramble fest pretty quickly.
Their statures have been very important factors in their grappling successes so far, but for different reasons. JJ is basically a size bully at 5’7 and will have a 4 inch height advantage once again. Maverick, on the other hand, is going to be the stronger of the two during those close quarter engagements, because she’s pretty damn jacked.
I think Maverick should be favoured overall as I think her wrestling is the superior of the two and should lead to more time in top position, but I’m definitely not keen to play her at -275. Miranda’s strengths are also her opponent’s strengths, and facing the lanky size of Jasudavicius could cause her problems when it comes to securing the initial takedowns against those long legs, or keeping safe from guard submissions or maintaining that dominant position in the first place. Also, if they do somehow end up choosing to strike for significant portions, I can’t actually guarantee that Maverick is the better on the feet (reach disadvantage plays a part too).
I do however like Maverick to win this one, but not by the confidence of the current odds. I’m expecting this one to go the distance, but I highly doubt we get a good line on it as Maverick couldn’t even finish Shanna Young last time out.
How I line this fight: Jasmine Jasudavicius +188 (35%), Miranda Maverick -188 (65%)
Bet or Pass: Pass.
Notable Props: Fight goes to decision. It's probably like -400.

Blake Bilder v Kyle Nelson
There are a couple of fights on this card where one guy is clearly more populasuccessful/in-form than their opponent, but they’re still only around -200 (Dan Ige & Mike Malott are the best examples). Blake Bilder is the third. Before I jumped into research for all three of these bouts, I was instinctively thinking that I could easily want to bet all three at -200, as that didn’t seem short enough by my initial perception of their names. I came away from Ige and Malott agreeing with the line and feeling grateful that I looked into it…but I still think Blake Bilder’s odds are providing a bit of value.
Kyle Nelson is one of those fodder guys. The UFC are keeping him around to give to prospects and home-town fighters in the hope that they can invest in the future or the event itself. Jai Herbert notched a win for Team UK against Nelson on a UFC London card, Doo Ho Choi got given a softball to get him back on track for a card that was supposed to be in South Korea. Billy Quarantillo got given Nelson to put his name on the map with a highlight reel finish..and now Blake Bilder is being presented the chance to extend his UFC record to 2-0.
Bilder’s already fought a better opponent in the UFC when he beat Shane Young in February. We saw a very high pace being set in the third round of that fight, with both men landing 100+ significant strikes across the fight and Bilder also attempting 7 takedowns. His cardio is clearly quite decent, which will immediately give him the advantage over Nelson – who has often wilted in the latter half of a fight when the pace has been hectic.
Bilder’s a very well-rounded combatant, and has great BJJ once he gets established time on top. He’s a bit of a concern defensively though, where he can be taken down and can also get caught with strikes.
Kyle Nelson, on the other hand, doesn’t really seem to know what kind of fighter he is. He’s been a brawler for all of his UFC career, but comes out to land five takedowns and is seemingly not interested in striking with a Doo Ho Choi who has questionable durability. He didn’t do much at all with those takedowns either and actually put himself in danger in R1 by insisting on grappling.
If Nelson comes out looking to wrestle Bilder, I think they’re at different levels in the grappling and Blake should be able to turn things around in his favour. If they’re striking, I am aware that Nelson’s got fight ending power, but Bilder’s been much more patient and cerebral in his last couple of fights, so I trust him to stay safe and look for his openings. We saw him reactively find a takedown off of Shane Young’s kick, and Nelson’s offense is very body kick heavy.
Overall, I just think Bilder is the better fighter in pretty much every facet of MMA except one-punch power and, as long as he doesn’t get flash KO’d, I think he rolls here. -200 isn’t quite short enough, and I expect money to come in on him between now and fight night. I’ve already got my money down, just in case.
How I line this fight: Blake Bilder -300 (75%), Kyle Nelson +300 (25%)
Bet or Pass: 5u Blake Bilder to Win (-200)
Notable Props: Bilder ITD or R3 could be interesting. I'd probably be interested in that if I didn't have a lot of exposure already.
Aiemann Zahabi v Aoriqileng
There was a time where Aiemann Zahabi was considered one of the worst guys on the roster. Crazy that the standard of UFC fighter has gotten so much worse that that statement seems ridiculous now. To be fair, Zahabi did pull off a respectable upset in beating Ricky Turcios in his last fight..but it seems to be unanimously agreed that Ricky fought like an idiot in that fight and actually beat himself.
Aoriqileng is quite explosive and clearly hits hard, but he’s a bit too keen to hunt for the KO and it hurts his minute-winning ability. Against someone like Zahabi, who is quite composed and process driven (how could you not be when Firas is your family and coach), and I see that being a pretty key part to this fight. The big moments will side with the Mongolian, but Aiemann could just put together the more cohesive performance if he doesn’t get troubled by that explosiveness.
Overall this is just a pretty low level fight between guys who don’t compete very often. I didn’t have a whole lot to say prior to watching tape, and I’ve come away feeling equally uncertain of how this one’s going to end. An easy pass when there are more active and popular fighters for us to form a stronger opinion on.
How I line this fight: I don’t really know.
Bet or Pass: Pass
Notable Props: None

Nassourdine Imavov v Chris Curtis
This one instantly feels like a pretty close fight, solely based off both men’s most recent losses. Imavov getting outstruck by Sean Strickland across 25 minutes was a bit of a shock to everyone, myself included. I expected him to lose via cardio dump, but it was actually just lesser volume, a lack of takedowns being attempted and obviously not landing anything of significance on Strickland.
It’s widely known that Chris Curtis and Sean Strickland are close training partners at Xtreme Couture, which I think makes for an added element to this fight. On six days notice, Strickland and the team managed to devise a pretty genius striking gameplan with disruptive rhythm that completely threw Imavov of. Can Chris Curtis do the same? Probably.
Curtis himself has problems of his own in the striking though, namely that his volume and output just aren’t where they often need to be. I’m not sure whether it’s the managing of his gas tank or what, but he just doesn’t seem able to commit to matching his opponent’s tempo across 15 minutes. He threw the first round away against Gastelum, and it cost him the fight. He bitched and moaned about it on Twitter, but social media’s been telling the guy what his problem is for as long as he’s been in the UFC haha.
I do suspect that there’s a little bit of recency bias on Imavov here, as the guy was a pretty well-respected prospect prior to the loss to Strickland. Some will tell you it was misplaced faith, but he certainly doesn’t have tempo issues in the latter half of fights and should probably have the higher volume across 15 minutes. I don’t see him taking Curtis down either, given the 100% takedown defence and the fact Imavov seemingly abandoned it in his last fight. It would be great if he did though!
So yeah, it’s a bit of a close one this. Off pure skillset I lean towards Imavov at like -150, but the asterisk of Curtis’ team being able to easily design a gameplan against the Frenchman gives me enough pause to not want to pick a side here. I’d be more interested in betting overs, if a decent price is available.
How I line this fight: Nassourdine Imavov -137 (58%), Chris Curtis +137 (42%)
Bet or Pass: 1.5u Fight Goes to Decision (-137 or better)
Notable Props: I think this one goes to decision at a pretty high clip.

Diana Belbita v Maria Oliveira
My initial thought was “What would compel someone to bet on this fight?”, then I remember I placed 100 quid on Chase Hooper a few weeks ago…and it was a great bet haha! Given how most of my handicapping for this card has seen me in complete agreement with the books, perhaps looking into a lower level fight with significantly less interest could be the place to a strong opinion!?
Nope. I can’t do it. One quick glance at their records was enough for me. Belbita got 30-25’d by a wrestling Molly McCann and submitted by Liana Jojua, whilst Maria Oliveira got soundly beaten on the scorecards by Vanesa Demopoulos and voluntarily asked to stop fighting after 3 minutes against Marina Rodriguez.
This one isn’t good enough to open an Apex card, let alone sit on a PPV. I usually really dislike all the WMMA bashing on this sub, but this one isn’t worth the time.
How I line this fight: No.
Bet or Pass: No.
Notable Props: No.
Live Betting Lean: You could do something productive with that 15 minutes. Lift some weights, make some food, rewatch Ngannou v Lewis instead?

Bets
0.5u Irene Aldana to Win (+300)
5u Blake Bilder to Win (-200)
1.5u Imavov v Curtis Goes to Decision (-137 or better) (Might not get this kind of price).
Parlay Do’s: Dan Ige, Blake Bilder, Imavov/Curtis GTD, Maverick/Jasudavicius GTD
Parlay Don’ts: Amanda Nunes, Mike Malott, Miranda Maverick

2023.06.04 23:27 aredditorwithnoface Need Advice. Girlfriend (23) Claims she's never orgasmed in her entire life.

So I started dating this girl about 3 months ago and I really like her. Honestly, the first time I’ve genuinely thought about marriage. For some context, I'm 25 and I’d like to say I’m pretty good in bed. All my previous partners tend to orgasm at least once every time we have penetrative sex. As a matter of fact, it’s almost always via PIV, which is rare apparently. This girl, we’ve had sex 4 times and still no orgasm. The last two times, I legit tried everything. I rarely give oral sex, but for this girl, I ate her out for probably 30 minutes straight (please don’t tell me that if I knew what I was doing that’s too long, that's what I'm trying to figure out). She claims that she doesn’t know if she’s orgasmed, which I am assuming means she’s never had one. She grew up in a pretty conservative family so these subjects have always been taboo to her and she’s never spoken about it with others. She’s masturbated less than 25 times she’s claimed, and she just does it till she’s satisfied. She doesn’t know if she’s had an orgasm.
The last time we had sex I made her squirt, and she thinks that may have been an orgasm. Could someone please give me some advice on what I need to do? A few more pointers: - She’s never really been sexually active. she’s had sex less than 5 times.
- She’s never used toys, and she doesn’t want to. Neither do I.
- Her G-spot feels much different than any other g-spot I have encountered. Regular g spot, the spongy part comes out, almost like a speed bump. This girl, where the g-spot is typically, it's almost like it goes in. Similar to a pothole. I know every woman is different, but is this normal?
- She thinks she needs to just “let go”, and not think about it. I also believe this is a huge factor. But man, I legit fore-played with her for like an hour. Im going above and beyond for this girl. My jaw hurts from kissing her so much. Every time we had sex, she was SUPER turned on. Im telling you. The best pussy I have ever had in my life. Lube would be disrespectful she was so wet. So the foreplay is not an issue here. She was wet through her panties and yoga pants every time. Before we had sex, on our 3rd date, we started making out. We both knew we weren't going to have sex on this day. I rubbed her vagina through her jeans and she was wet. I have tried everything. I fingered her and touched the mysterious g-spot. I stimulated her clit. I gave her some incredible dick. Ate her out. She’s tapped out every time we’ve had sex because I was fucking her for so long. So please, give me some advice good folks. I told her I'm going to ask someone about us, just based on the fact I’ve never been with a woman who’s never orgasmed. So now I am here. I also do not want to tell her to go to a sex therapist. Thank you very much for reading this!

2023.06.04 23:22 afrocyborg 30[M4F] US/Anywhere - Gamer boy looking for his player 2

Hello, fellow redditor. How are you doing on this fine day? Has anything interesting happened to you this week?
Are you still looking for a new best friend/significant other? Someone that you can gush about your passions in life? One who you can message at ungodly hours of the night? Somebody who can help to alleviate the daily stress of feeling like you are alone in the world? Someone who you can message when you are feeling down? Or maybe even someone who gives you butterflies every time you get a message from them?
Well, do I have an offer for you!!!!
For the ridiculously low price of a direct message, you can meet your new best friend!!!
All you have to do is pick up the phone (or get on your computer) and send me a direct message. And, in the next (whenever I'm able to get a chance to check reddit), you can meet your brand new best friend!!!
Don't wait!!! This offer is only available for the next (whenever I decide to take this post down).
In all seriousness, I appreciate you taking the time to check out my post. I'm sure that you're here in the same spot as I am. Just wanting to try and form a connection with new people. So I figured I'd reach out to the internet and try and see if I can vibe with some new people. Maybe hopefully it grows to something more.
I'm a 30-year-old guy looking for a relationship (or friendship) through reddit. I know it's probably not the best idea, but I haven't had a lot of success with dating apps in my area. Plus, dating in your 30's is hard when you're an introvert. I will say though, I have made some great friends through reddit in the past, so I figured I'd try again and see what happens.
A little bit about me. I'm a typical redditor. Gamer, anime watcher, music enthusiast, and occasional movie watcher. I'm also a giant sports fan as well. Right now, I'm playing Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. It's pretty much taken over my life at the moment. There are a lot of games coming out this year, and I can't wait to get my hands on them. Marvel's Spider-Man 2, Final Fantasy XVI, and so many more I can't think of right now. It's gonna be a great year for gaming. I can honestly talk about gaming for hours. It's the best. Let's talk about our favorite games, or possibly play some together.
In terms of anime, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is my favorite show. Yes, it's ridiculous and over the top, but that's what makes it great. I haven't caught up with My Hero Academia Season 6 yet, but only because I want to stack them up and power through them all at once. Outside of that, I've been watching some Spy X Hunter. What a charming little show this is. Anyway, I'm always looking for new recommendations. What are you watching now?
Sports-wise, I'm a Los Angeles Lakers fan and a Las Vegas Raiders fan. I know. This has been a very disappointing season. Hopefully, the Lakers pull something wild off, and players are able to stay healthy. Otherwise, I just can only hope for a better season next year. I need something to be excited about. I have a lot of random useless sports information in my head. I've loved basketball and football my entire life, so I'd much rather stay at home and watch a game than go out and drink or party or whatever.
My favorite genres of music are Hip-hop and R&B. I would have to say a few of my favorite albums of all time would be Channel Orange by Frank Ocean, Because the Internet by Childish Gambino, 2014 Forest Hills Drive by J. Cole, Malibu by Anderson .Paak, and To Pimp a Butterfly by Kendrick Lamar. I also listen to a bunch of different genres. What are some of your favorite songs or albums? Let's exchange music playlists with each other.
Anyway. I feel like I'm rambling at this point, so I'll stop here. That way we can get to know each other and see if we vibe together. So, if you're interested in getting to know a nerdy introvert over the internet, by all means, shoot me a message. Hit me with your a/s/l so I know it's real. I'm totally down to exchange discords and have a little discord date to get to know each other. If not, thank you for checking out my post, and I hope that you find whatever you are looking for.

2023.06.04 23:22 autotldr Sullivan: US believes Ukrainians ‘will meet with success’ in counteroffensive

This is the best tl;dr I could make, original reduced by 43%. (I'm a bot)
White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan said in an interview on Sunday that the U.S. believes Ukrainians "Will meet with success" in their counteroffensive against Russian forces.
"Well, first, this is not an exam. We're not grading Ukraine's counteroffensive and saying, 'You know, you did well based on what we gave you or you did poorly,'" Sullivan said on CNN's "Fareed Zakaria GPS." "What we want to do is support Ukraine to make as much progress as possible on the battlefield, so that it is in the strongest possible position at the negotiating table."
Sullivan also told Zakaria that he believes Ukraine could regain significant territory currently occupied by Russia.
"But we believe that the Ukrainians will meet with success in this counteroffensive," Sullivan added.
Sullivan's remarks come after Ukrainian President Voldymyr Zelensky told The Wall Street Journal that his country is ready to lunch a counteroffensive against Russian forces occupying parts of his nation.
Bellwether 'forever chemicals' case heads to trial Biden will meet China's Xi 'at some point,' Sullivan says.

2023.06.04 23:14 catJiJi I just dont know (what to call this)

Hey there :), first of all even though it might sound like it i am not considering Suicide.
I hate it. Everytime ive had a really good day and i come home i just start hating myself, my living situation, my looks, the way i interact with ppl and basically anything i could hate about myself. After telling myself what kind of a shitty person i am i conclude that i dont want to exist anymore (not die but like leaving this world without anyone knowing i ever lived) but on the next day i just act like everythings normal, i meet friends i go after my hobbies and so on. I just dont know what im supposed to do cause there is a lot of happiness in my life but then again every time a day was better than normal i start hating myself at the end of it. Also why dont I fucking get up and do something against the shit i hate about myself? Like if i hate my looks why dont i just do something about it? If i hate the patterns in which i interact with ppl why dont i change it? If i hate that theres Mold in my sink and im too lazy to clean it why dont i just get the fuck up and clean it? Why do i procrastinate every task that comes up? Hating myself for shit like this doesnt fix anything it just makes it worse. And why do I hate on myself for so much i wouldnt even give a single shit if someone else did it? I really want to change but everytime i tried ive failed. I know therapy could mbe help with that but i am tired of waiting forever and at the end being told that there sadly is no spot for me currently availalbe, but we wish you the best of luck for finding something else.
Sorry for anyone trying to get through that block of Text but i just wanted to write everything down and am currently unable to format that Junk. Thanks for reading though.

2023.06.04 23:10 micronesiarain Episode 6- "Robbed: The Musical!" 💃🎶

Episode 6-
the queens return to the workroom after Kami's elimination
Anthyy: Everybody, moment of silence for our sister.
🏁Anthyy CF: Kami just got sent home, and it really was worst case scenario. I love Sue, don't get me wrong! But Kami was probably my closest ally here. And with how shitty last week was for me, that just sealed it as the worst week so far.
Zodya: Congratulations to our winners! Really well deserved, you both did great. How does it feel?
Wren: I'll be honest, I was starting to doubt myself. On Season Six, I felt like I always had the opportunity to prove myself. Maybe it was by winning a challenge, or by lipsyncing.
Fleur: Shoutout to the bed!
Wren: As I was saying...I was able to prove myself as a competitor. But this time, it's felt a lot different. Let's be real, my track record wasn't great before this last challenge.
🏁Fleur CF: She says as if it's better now.
Wren: But I finally feel like I showed what I have, and lipsyncing again felt like my batteries being recharged.
Sue: You run on batteries? I thought that was just me...what a world!
🏁Wren CF: I'm feeling pumped right now. Micro saw me as the best of the week, it doesn't get any better than that. I'm taking this momentum and making it into as many wins as possible. Maybe I'm the new Greantee? I like the sound of that!
Steph: Has anyone else felt that way of questioning your place here?
Fleur: If not, a lot of you should.
Anthyy: I can't say I have. I'm in it to go all the way.
Morgs looks over at Anthyy, wondering if Anthyy had forgotten about their previous conversation during Untucked
🏁Morgs CF: It seems like Anthyy is out of the mindset of wanting to quit. Which is perfect! Losing Kami was a big hit to us, so it's important that Anthyy stays and keeps the focus on what really matters.
Zodya: Whorechata, what lipstick do you have tucked away?
Whorechata: Yikes, this is awkward.
Sue: Oh...
Whorechata: I chose Micro. It was the only decision that felt right to me!
Zodya: If you don't show us who you actually picked...
Whorechata: I also chose Kami. It really was nothing personal. She said she had the fire to stay, and I wanted to believe her. But I didn't see that fire in her the same way that I did with Sue. And girl, you know I wasn't about to send you home. Our history goes back too far for me to do that to you.
Sue: You can never know for certain, so I really appreciate this.
Whorechata: I got you.
🏁Blondie CF: The FDR queens definitely need to be broken up. Whorechata saving Sue proves that even if they don't have this crazy close relationship, that FDR bond is enough to influence a major decision. Next time I'm in the top, I have to go after one of them. Or multiple of them, why not!
The Next Day
the queens strut into the workroom, wearing coordinated outfits
🏁Morgs CF: It's a new day in the workroom, and the group is getting smaller and smaller. Next thing you know, it'll look like a bunch of fairies running around! Honey, I shrunk the kids!!
Wren: I want to start off the day by apologizing to Anthyy and Morgs for how I acted during the challenge. It wasn't cute, and I see that now. I don't know, it just felt like all the stress was finally getting to me, and I put so much pressure onto myself.
Morgs: In my heart, I should be mad at you. But you are also the prettiest lady I've ever seen, so I can't be mad! It's all good, for real.
Anthyy: Definitely.
🏁Anthyy CF: I can forgive Wren, but I won't forget. She's the reason I don't know if I want to be here anymore, and I can't let that go. I'm feeling better than I was before, but I'm still not in it all the way. I'm getting in my head about it, I don't know what I need to do to feel better about this.
the workroom door swings open and Micro walks in, wearing a sequin caftan with teased out curly hair
Micro: Hello hello queens! Who else cried themselves to sleep last night after that elimination? Just me? Okay, we love that! Anywho, it's time for your next challenge. All of you have one thing in common. Whether you got close to the prize, or went home too early, none of you got the crown on your original seasons. And I'm sure you'd all be inclined to say that you were robbed. Which is why your next challenge is a musical journey through the crushing feeling of defeat. Because what is a drag race without a little emotional exploitation?! Each of you will choose a song of your choice, and then select sixteen lines from that song. Using the rhythm of the song, you'll be rewriting the lyrics to tell the story of how you were eliminated. The songs you choose and the approach you take are totally up to you. Make it you, make it stand out, that's all that matters! Good luck, and I'll see you on the runway for the big premiere. Bye!
the queens scatter around the workroom in small clusters as they go over ideas
🏁Steph CF: For our challenge this week, we are taking part in "Robbed: The Musical". Using a song of our choice, we have to rewrite sixteen lines to tell the story of how we got sent home. If you saw Season Three, you know all too well that I had thoughts, feelings, and concerns about how my time there ended. My only concern here is how to squeeze all of these thoughts into just sixteen lines. I could do fifty, and still have more to say!
Whorechata: So, what am I supposed to do for this challenge? I never really got eliminated.
Sue: Right! I forgot about that. I guess you eliminated yourself.
Whorechata: How do I make that work for this challenge, that's the question.
🏁Whorechata CF: Everyone else has been eliminated, got the axe, got thrown to the curb. And then there's me. Luckily, I feel more confident with a verse challenge than I could for any other challenge. When I put my pen to paper, none of these queens can come close to me. But it's hard to reference your journey and elimination when you quit on the second episode. I'll make it work though, know that!
Blondie and Fleur have a heart to heart by the mirrors
Blondie: I know there's tension between us, and that might never change. But I want you to know that there's an olive branch from me to you.
Fleur: Why would I want a stick?
Blondie: I-, that's not what that means.
Fleur: Girl, I know.
Blondie: Where did things go wrong between us?
Fleur: We both want to be the top bitch. And we know that there isn't enough room in the spotlight for the both of us. For me? Absolutely. But you...yeah, no.
Blondie: I just don't get that. We have the same friends, we work the same shows. There's no reason to keep things between us so fractured.
Fleur: Maybe one day. But right now, I don't know if it's the right time.
Blondie: I'm fine with that. It doesn't need to be immediate, I just want to know that you're willing to get there eventually.
🏁Fleur CF: As much as it pains me to admit, Blondie and I do have a lot in common. There's just something about this competition that makes it hard for me to connect with people. Some call it competitive spirit, most just call it being a bitch. I'm not closing the door on a friendship between Blondie and I, but I'm not opening it either. Not yet at least.
Morgs and Anthyy style their wigs for the challenge as they go over last minute ideas
🏁Morgs CF: Anthyy is the one person here that I know I can trust. Seeing her win would make me so happy, and I know she feels the same about me winning.
Anthyy: Sister, what song are you doing for this?
Morgs: There are a few rap songs that I think I could do well with.
Anthyy: You always do well with those, that might be the perfect option!
Morgs: But then another part of me feels like that would just be a convenient way of ending up safe again. I'm questioning whether or not it makes sense to go with what I know, or if I'm in a spot where I have to take a risk.
Anthyy: I feel the same way. If you took a risk and it didn't work, do you think you would be able to convince people to keep you?
Morgs: That's the thing, I don't. I feel like you wouldn't send me home, but that's it. I can't trust anyone else to save me.
Anthyy: What's your riskier option?
Morgs: Aretha Franklin.
Anthyy: Byeeee!
Morgs: I know, I know! It's not what you'd expect from me.
Anthyy: And that's why it makes total sense. You need to believe in yourself. Give them the full Morgs fantasy, and they'll live!
Morgs: Ah, you convinced me! I'm doing Aretha.
Anthyy: Our top two moment incoming!
🏁Morgs CF: I feel like I have nothing to lose at this point. If I'm ever gonna take a risk, now's the time to do it. Pray for your girl, she needs a miracle right about now!
Runway
the lights flicker and an electric magenta light floods the runway as Micro struts down the center
Micro Episode 6 Look
Micro: Welcome back to the runway of Micro's Drag Race: All Stars! This week, the queens were tasked with rewriting a song to tell the story of how they lost their original season. And joining me on the judging panel tonight is not only an MDR legend, but a fantastic verse writer, and the winner of Micro's Drag Race vs The World, Jords!
Jords Guest Judging Look
Micro: Jords, thank you for being here!
Jords: Thank you, I'm so excited to crush some dreams.
Micro: How has life been since taking home the crown?
Jords: You know what they say, club, another club, bus, no sleep. Except this is on Discord, so not exactly like that, but you get the idea!
Micro: Are you ready to get started?
Jords: I told you I'm not staying in this corset for more than an hour, let's get to it!
Micro: Without further ado, here is "Robbed: The Musical"!
Robbed: The Musical
-------------------------
Micro: Category is..."Chain Reaction".
"Bad Juju" by Jujubee plays
Anthyy: When i heard the category was chains i got a bit scared cause first i had an idea to do a bad bitch look! But then i realized probably everyone is gonna do that! So my mind went to a diffrent thign! When i dont know what to do i always look for inspiration in my culture! PURR POLISH BITCH! In Poland, you can easily say that in the whole europe, knights were EVERYWHERE so tonight i decided to serve you a knight look HONEY i am drippinnggg in chains! From head to toe i am a silver sparkling dream! And i know miss micr loves them sparkles so i made sure she is BADAZZLED for the gods! I did a lil leg and a hip reveal so she can have her sexy moment! And ofc i am carrying a sword caue i am a fighter. I really liked going back to the more haute couture side of anthyy since reently i focused my looks much more on the drag side so this was a nice comeback! And you kno im a sucker for gowns!
Anthyy Look
Blondie: Tonight I am giving full shame and guilt. Every since I taken a break from my season, I realize I have a lot of internal thinking and shame of the things I did on my season. Giving up so easily when I know I was in the right for most of my arguments and being manipulated into thinking I'm the problem when you just wanted Greentree to win so y'all robbed me. Tonight I am wearing beautiful Thai silk fantasy and got this beautiful styled red hair and have it locked up and chained up all over my body. You want me to feel shame, well come unlock my chain, baby
Blondie Look
Fleur: Tonight I decided to fuse rich and affluence with sex and fornication and I have to admit, I am a HUGE fan of this result! I am feeling so fancy and so lush with all this gold and skin! Thank the lord that fashion tape exists because without that, who knows how these chains will stay perfectly in place. I am EATING. I am so happy to be wearing this look the one week in this competition, where I feel somewhat confident!
Fleur Look
Morgs: BAM, on the runway i'm coming out, skinny, beautiful, and a bad girl. this is a total different direction than morgetha franklin you saw during the challenge. i have some devily horns on too, obviously decked out with chains, matching the rest draped AWL over my body. i look stunning, i feel stunning, and if someone happened to wear this before i wore it better
Morgs Look
Steph: mama i am all chained up bc i am a crazy bitch who LOVES the chains. Bitch this is fashion and I want to show that I can be kinky and serve up some rich ho realness honey!!
Steph Look
Sue: Tonight I am serving you gothic bad ass biatch. She is a huntress on a mission to obliterate all the men who did her dirty.
Sue Look
Whorechata: Tonight on the runway I am representing what many conservative folk would say is “my culture”. I am giving orange is the New Mexican tonight mawma. She got the ball and chain and limping on this runway… but tbh that’s not a new thing for chata on the runway.
Whorechata Look
Wren: Trying to make my own runway this was a truly humbling experience, sometimes things dont go as planned and that’s ok. However, if I’m going to go with something I didn’t make myself I want to make sure it’s one of the best things you’ve ever seen. This look wowed me from the moment I first saw it and it is absolutely gorgeous, stunning, and conceptual. Zendaya truly devoured, as always.
Wren Look
Zodya: For this runway, I wanted to do something a little bit different. While most people would probably have the chains wrapped around their bodies or hanging off, I’m going for this chain pattern in this exquisite, high-fashion executive realness look. I feel extremely opulent in this moment, like I’m about to buy out a large company! And if you don’t like that? Chained to the walls of the company dungeon!!!
Zodya Look
Critiques
Micro: Thank you ladies. Tonight, you all really blew me away!
Jords: I need to echo that. AMAZING job on the stage tonight. You all did amazing and it will be very hard to be choosing the placements. Very honored and excited to be judging tonight!
Micro: So tonight, you will each be receiving critiques.
Micro: First up, Anthyy!
Jords: BESTIE! So excited to see how far you‘ve come after Season 1. For your look, this is definitely one of the looks I‘m liking the most. It‘s giving me very much warrior. You know those games we used to play back in the day in that castle and there was like a fighter holding you from entering the other room? Yeah, that‘s you in new edition. And for your Musical performance… you ate that. I think the song choice is very um… UNIQUE. Sorry, I don‘t really connect good things with that name. Anyway, I found your lyrics smart and memorable, I kinda got stuck with what parts you were relating to, but then I got the hang of it and then loved it even more.
Micro: Anthyy baby, you might have just outwrote Beyoncé. Well, I don’t know if she writes her own stuff but if she does, you did that! I thought the flow was amazing, and you had so many call backs to your original season, and such a smart song choice for this Unieke moment! My one critique would be that it felt like certain lines were condensed in a way that really fit the flow, but weakened the line itself by removing certain little transition words. On the runway, this is sensational. I love the hip cutouts and the shoulder pieces. One of my favorite looks from you ever!
Micro: Next, Blondie!
Jords: Hey Blondie! On the look, I like how the chains connect the whole look. It starts from your foot to the head and roses, so I really found that cool. Your musical performance, I think you started really strong. The song was a little something else from what the others have presented I think, you served a lot of comedy. There‘s some little, very little things I would change, but overall I think you did a good job.
Micro: Imma be so real, my expectations for what you could do this week were a little low. You weren’t exactly a rapstress on Season Six, but this was so well done. This song has a lot of little moments within it that you were able to capitalize on. And it had splashes of humor and controversy that you’re known so well for. On the runway, I think this look is beautiful, and the commentary gagged me a bit. I thought you were in your apology era but then you went right back to serving cunt, we love to see it. Great night for you.
Micro: Next up, Fleur!
Jords: Hey Fleur! With this runway look, you are so rich and you are representing the girls. It just ate. You have clear taste, we been knew. Your musical verse. I‘ll say it was a good attempt. It was a verse that was really deep, but it wasn‘t that special for me.
Micro: The vibe of this song has such a dark and melancholy feel to it, which worked so well for this challenge, and the feelings of reliving that loss. It really told the journey of who you were back on Season One, and then how you had that redemption moment on Season Four, but ultimately falling short of the crown. All the boxes are checked, this was a great performance. On the runway, this connects with me so hardcore. The draped chain look, the big headpiece and sculpted hair, the fur coat, it’s a dream look for me. For me, your best week so far!
Micro: Next, Morgs!
Jords: Morgs! I‘m very impressed by you. This chains look is just so advanced and so beautiful. You went full force. As well as in the musical. I imagined it very well, you performing with that song playing. I like what you had brought tonight.
Micro: Morgs, you are such an incredible writer, and I could tell that this week was a moment for you to break out of that safe streak and really shine. First off, the song choice was amazing. And you stayed true to what the challenge asked for with the references to your season and elimination, not going too far into that bitch track territory. You played off of all the subtleties and syllables of the original to pack this full of great content. On the runway, this is a gorgeous look. Having this cage element made of chains, it’s a clever and high fashion moment.
Micro: Next up, Steph!
Jords: Steph, Steph, Steph. Your runway with the chains, chains everywhere! I like it. But your verse… it didn‘t stick out to me, I‘m sorry. It didn‘t fullfill my expectations, I got the hang of what you were trying to do, but I didn‘t really get through the whole performance without asking myself „Why“ like, 3 times.
Micro: Steph, you made me so proud this week!! I know your elimination on Season Three wasn’t the best time for you, but I do think it has pushed you in this competition to perform at a really elite level. You sold the vibe and the fantasy of what that challenge was and your thought process through your elimination. There’s not much else I can really say, you killed it. If I have to nitpick, I’d say that the end loses steam a little bit, but only because the first half is so strong. On the runway, I think this is maybe the best you’ve looked! It’s simple but executed flawlessly. Great work.
Micro: Next up, Sue!
Jords: Moving on to Sue! Your chains look, it was kind of different and it had something that made me memorize it well. Your performance… I kind of found it hard to keep up. It was a good song choice, I did see you performing it, don‘t worry. But I think you could have done even more.
Micro: Sue, let me start off with this song choice. Choosing the song you were eliminated on during Season Four, how did nobody else think to do that?! It was a really smart move. I can tell you were comfortable with this challenge, because every line had that natural flow and swagger to it. The lyrics were so true to you and your spirit, and the rhythm of the song kind of played into that feeling of running away from elimination and trying to save yourself. And on the runway, this is amazing. I love the movement that the chains bring in, and this skeletal corset vibe is next level. I’m not the biggest fan of the purple veil, but this is a great look.
Micro: Next, Whorechata Grande!
Jords: Hey, Whorechata! This look looks like it‘s self-drawn. I think the story behind it is very smart and very easy to think about what it could mean. Perfect, that‘s it. And for the musical, girl, you turned it into a party. I was in my seat like… twerks.
Micro: Whorechata, you are like a chicken. I take you out of the freezer, and you start to thaw. Last week, you warmed up, and this week, you were burning hot. This was start to finish, an incredible week for you. Every beat was hit, the flow was immaculate, and you balanced being able to hype yourself up, but also get real about your time on Season Five. On the runway, this look is so so good. The heavy chains around the ankles especially, that really works for me. If I had to nitpick, I think the hair color throws me off a little bit, and I wish she had a chain necklace or earrings to kinda tie the top half to the bottom half, but this was truly your week.
Micro: Next up, Wren Wyvern!
Jords: Wren, Wren, Wren. I‘m going to start with the runway. Let‘s break it down. When you see A first, you remember it. Then comes B. And when B is very similar to A, you like one more. That‘s exactly what it is between you and Anthyy. You both did armor-related looks. This look from Zendaya, my queen 'till the day I collapse, is very iconic. But I think this is one of the looks I like the least tonight. This verse made me think you used AI. Because you used some words that Jesus didn‘t even hear before he got crucified, Amen. I found it very funny, and you gave us something to run with, so good job on that.
Micro: Wren the rap star is back! You have a great understanding of music and verse writing, and are able to execute challenges like this phenomenally. The rhyme structure of the original song isn’t all that simple, it has little quirks, and that’s tough to write around. But you managed to pull it off, and pull it off really well. On the runway, this isn’t my favorite. Objectively, it’s a beautiful look. I will say though that MET Gala looks for me tend to just come off as a little expected. At this point in the competition, I have to pick at the tiny things.
Micro: Last but not least, Zodya!
Jords: Zodya! Well, while others used chains that were actually build into their look, you used it as a pattern. And I actually would have liked it more had you used a look that did so as well, because it gives it more a better vibe. I liked your verse a lot. It was so good. Nothing more to say, like damn she ate that.
Micro: Zodya, back with the Gaga! You are an incredible verse writer, undefeated so far. Tonight was no exception. Your lines all hit, and there was not a single error in the flow of it. Picking at the tiny things, I think the chorus didn’t give you many chances to change it in a major way. Such a small issue, but every little detail is being looked at under a microscope right now. On the runway, this was a really unique take. Opting to go for a chain pattern instead of actual chains, I don’t know how I feel about it! It’s something I haven’t seen before and I love that it gives you this polished look. Maybe I’m missing that industrial and metal vibe that real chains would’ve brought in, but it’s great for what it is.
Micro: Thank you queens. Based on your performances tonight, I've made some decisions. When I call your name, please step forward.
Micro: Anthyy, Blondie, Fleur, Steph, Sue, Wren, and Zodya. Great work this week, you are all safe.
🏁Fleur CF: Wait...what?
Micro: Morgs, Whorechata. Congratulations, you are the top two queens of the week!
the queens congratulate Morgs and Whorechata while looking shocked over everyone being safe
🏁Morgs CF: Well oh my gosh, I won!! And for it to happen on a week where I just let loose completely, it makes me feel so good. If you want the real me, here it is!
🏁Whorechata CF: My win era has arrived, it feels right!
Micro: Now, I hate a non-elimination week. You all know this, I know this, the lady down the street knows this. But when you deliver at a level like this, you leave me no other choice. I want to see more from each and every one of you. However, there will still be a lipsync. The winner of the lipsync will receive a significant advantage in the next challenge. Trust me, you want this one. Head on back to Untucked and get ready, I'll see you shortly!
Untucked
the queens enter Untucked
Morgs: Oh my damn, oh my damn!
🏁Morgs CF: I won my first challenge! This is my first time being in the top since the first episode. The risk to do Aretha paid off, and I'm so glad I made that decision. And it's honestly the perfect week to win, because I don't need to worry about making someone mad at me. I need to do a little happy dance or something, this is the best feeling!
Steph: Somebody better quit to make these numbers go down!
Wren: I felt that.
Sue: I was really doubting myself this week, so getting positive feedback and being safe, such a relief.
Anthyy: I feel that way, just flipped a little bit. I felt really good about my verse, and love my runway. But the critiques were a little shaky. I'm so grateful for everyone being safe, I'm not ready to land in the bottom!
Wren: Anthyy, Zodya. This is nothing against the two of you, but-
Zodya: Here we go.
Wren: It is a little frustrating that the week where you finally get mixed critiques, there's no bottoms. It feels interesting to me, that's all!
Steph: Oop.
🏁Wren CF: I believe that there was some tricks going on behind the scenes this week. I thought Zodya was the weakest, and by quite a lot to be honest. But she's won three challenges already, Micro can't risk her going home. It feels all too convenient that this was the week for nobody to go home.
Zodya: I'll be the first to admit that I wasn't in the best headspace this week. We've been here for awhile now, it got to me.
Wren: I think it mainly annoys me because just based off of critiques, I think I was next in line to be in the top. But now we're all safe, and it puts me and you on the same level.
Zodya: Is that a bad thing? Micro and Jords both said how well we all did.
Wren: I disagree with me being placed the same as everyone else, that's it.
Zodya: You can't just say "that's it" and expect the conversation to be over.
Wren: Well, I would like it to be over.
🏁Zodya CF: If Micro gave me a free pass this week, then let me just say a quick thank you and get back to the competition. But based on the critiques, I don't think that's what happened. When Wren wins the challenge, the judging makes total sense. But whenever she doesn't win, there's some conspiracy behind it. I know we've been here for a long time, but are the fumes getting to you?
Anthyy: I don't have anything else to say about that. We all slayed, we can just move on!
Sue: I do want to ask Fleur about her part in the musical. Was that actually how you feel?
Fleur: I mean...maybe a little.
Sue: Even on Season Four, I didn't know how much pressure you put on yourself after Season One.
Fleur: I came into that season so confident, but I gave up on myself. When you feel people cheering for you, and you can't take it all the way, it makes you feel like you disappointed them.
Anthyy: You didn't disappoint anyone on Season One!
Fleur: No, I know I disappointed myself at least.
🏁Fleur CF: I take what I do very seriously, and I really care about the legacy I leave behind. If I don't live up to the expectations I set for myself, it makes me feel like it's not even worth trying.
Fleur: I'm scared of that following me. I want people to see me for who I am now, not what I was doing then.
Blondie: You have no idea how much sense this is making.
Fleur: Really?
Blondie: Absolutely. The thing is, people will feel how they feel, and you can't change that. But when you start living in the moment and start this new path for yourself, they'll have no choice but to see you for who you are now. If you don't want them to focus on the past, you can't focus on it either.
🏁Zodya CF: And that is what we call a breakthrough!
the queens return to the runway
Micro: Welcome back ladies! Will the top two queens please step forward.
Morgs Lipsync Look
Whorechata Lipsync Look
Micro: Morgs, Whorechata. Prior to tonight, you were asked to prepare a lipsync performance of “I Believe in a Thing Called Love” by The Darkness.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tKjZuykKY1I
Micro: This is your chance to impress me, and earn an advantage in the next challenge.
🏁Morgs CF: Eek, the nerves are starting to show up! I wasn't exactly a lipsync assassin on Season Three. But I've been working on my moves, and I think I can put up a good fight. Hope for the best!
🏁Whorechata CF: Finally, this is a song I can perform to! If y'all would've given me Fifth Harmony again, I would've walked out that door and never looked back.
"Can't explain all the feelings that you're making me feel
My heart's in overdrive and you're behind the steering wheel"
Morgs struts on out commanding the stage, she's got a REAL bad girl energy in her and you can tell it from the way she walks to the nasty glare in her eyes. She positions herself in the center of the stage and lip syncs like a preoccupied teenage boy
Whorechata does a little shimmy, feeling the music
"Touching you, touching me
Touching you,
God, you're touching me"
Morgs starts to shift from bratty to sultry as she looks over and attempts to grasp the air over to her opponent. She then feels her freaky pigtails sizzling it up. She then reaches over to her opponent again, then Morgs jiggly body starts to move to the rhythm, matching up to the beat
Whorechata does a little shimmy, feeling the music
"I believe in a thing called love
Just listen to the rhythm of my heart
There's a chance we could make it now
We'll be rocking 'til the sun goes down
I believe in a thing called love, hoo-ooh"
Morgs jumps into the air landing knee first on the ground and bobbing her head along. She spreads her legs open across the stage and shakes her hands enthusiastically near her heart area. She then shifts her body to the side as she drags herself across the stage doing a high kick in the air as she jumps back up on her feet. She then shimmies herself down to the ground with a sensual ‘shh’ motion to her lips. On the last line she does a fierce back bend as the loveee line progresses and she then reaches for her guitar for the solo. Its a freaky guitar btw, bright pink
Whorechata does a little shimmy, feeling the music
🎶Guitar solo🎶
Morgs plays her guitar matching the solo as it plays. She gets freakful to the music and moves across the stage truly making her stage presence known as she does some stunts throughout this like some back leans to the side and high kicks. She makes eye contact with her audience. throughout and they can tell that Morgs is NOT here to play games. She ends the guitar solo by making it look like she’s playing it with her tongue (very good at that) as rolls her tongue against it’s strings before throwing it back on her back
Whorechata does a little shimmy, feeling the music
"Touching you, touching me
Touching you,
God, you're touching me, ohh"
Morgs feels the sultry sensual rhythms again as she scurries off, she's such a bad bad girl and its showing in her whole aura. Morgs then makes her body jiggle by pumping it in line with the beat. Morgs then bawls her hands in a fist a pulsates them in a motion close to her heart, she then moves her hand down to her freakum as she vibrates her hand in that area making the ohh motion as she goes into a backbend in which she just barely touches the ground
Whorechata does a little shimmy, feeling the music
"I believe in a thing called love
Just listen to the rhythm of my heart
There's a chance we could make it now
We'll be rocking 'til the sun goes down
I believe in a thing called love"
Morgs then back flips up into her original position with her two feet on the ground (also a trained gymnast). She beams along to the music, feeling the rock star moment as she moves herself across the stage on all sides and to the back to the other queens watching as she interacts with them a little bit. She shakes her head hard along to the music. Morgs then grabs the guitar from behind her back as she is still in the back of the stage
Whorechata does a little shimmy, feeling the music
🎶Guitar solo🎶
As the solo starts Morgs, now holding the guitar, slides from the back of the stage all the way to the front playing the guitar violently and excitedly as she bangs her head along. As the song comes to a close with the breakdown, Morgs destroys the guitar by banging it all in one place on the stage in a rapidfire motion and as the last beat plays, she falls into a hard front facing split with her head on the ground and she points to the sky with her right index finger as she has finished putting on a concert for the girls. From the guitar holds a paper that says “Sharris was robbed” with a wink she goes back to her spot
Whorechata does a little shimmy, feeling the music
Micro: Whew, rock on!! That was a great performance...from one of you. I've made my decision.
...
...
Micro: Morgs, you're a winner, baby! You have won a significant advantage in the next challenge.
Morgs: Thanks a bunch!
Micro: Whorechata, you are safe.
Whorechata: Did all that just to be safe, just say you hate me!
Micro: Nine queens remain, and you all are the best of the best. Keep up the momentum, and give it your all. From here on out, at least one of you will be going home each week. Do not get comfortable. Now, let the music play!
"Banjo" by Bebe Zahara Benet plays
Next Time on Micro's Drag Race: All Stars
🏁Wren CF: I wouldn't say that I necessarily want to recite the entire Book of Mormon. It's more of a need. What is my life!?
Morgs notices a box on her workroom station that holds her advantage for the challenge
Sue: This is just me getting everything I could possibly want. You get a Kylie, you get a Kylie!
Lily: This was in really poor taste, and it went entirely too far.

Nearly 5,000 years have passed, and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has gone from man to myth to legend. At San Diego Comic-Con in July, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson had other people raising eyebrows when he said that his long-awaited superhero debut in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse would be the beginning of “a new era” for the DC Extended Universe naturally followed: What did he mean? And what would that kind of reset mean for the remainder of DCEU's roster, including Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, the rest of the Justice League, Suicide Squad, Shazam and so on.As
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse neared theaters, though, Johnson clarified that statement in a recent sit-down with Yahoo Entertainment (watch above).
“I feel like this is our opportunity now to expand the DC Universe and what we have in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, which I think is really cool just as a fan, is we introduce five new superheroes to the world,” Johnson tells us. Aldis Hodge's Hawkman, Noah Centineo's Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell's Cyclone and Pierce Brosnan's Doctor Fate, who together comprise the Justice Society.) “One anti-hero.” (That would be DJ's Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.)
“And what an opportunity. The Justice Society pre-dated the Justice League. So opportunity, expand out the universe, in my mind… all these characters interact. That's why you see in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, we acknowledge everyone: Batman , Superman , Wonder Woman, Flash, we acknowledge everybo****here's also some Easter eggs in there, too.So that's what I meant by the resetting. In addition to being Johnson's DC Universe debut, “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” is also notable for marking the return of Henry Cavill's Superman. The cameo is likely to set up future showdowns between the two characters, but Hodge was completely unaware of it until he saw the film.
“They kept that all the way under wraps, and I didn't know until maybe a day or two before the premiere,” he recently said Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2022) FULL𝓂𝑜𝓋𝒾𝑒 ONLINE
Is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Available On Hulu?Viewers are saying that they want to view the new TV show Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse on Hulu. Unfortunately, this is not possible since Hulu currently does not offer any of the free ****odes of this series streaming at this time. the MTV channel, which you get by subscribing to cable or satellite TV services. You will not be able to watch it on Hulu or any other free streaming service.
Is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Streaming on Disney Plus?
Unfortunately, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is not currently available to stream on Disney Plus and it's not expected that the film will release on Disney Plus until late December at the absolute earliest.
While Disney eventually releases its various studios' films on Disney Plus for subscribers to watch via its streaming platform, most major releases don't arrive on Disney Plus until at least 45-60 days after the film's theatrical release.
The sequel opened to $150 million internationally, which Disney reports is 4% ahead of the first film when comparing like for likes at current exchange rates. Overall, the global cume comes to $330 million. Can it become the year's third film to make it past $1 billion worldwide despite China and Russia, which made up around $124 million of the first film's $682 million international box office, being out of play? It may be tough, but it's not impossible. Legging out past $500 million is plausible on the domestic front (that would be a multiplier of at least 2.7), and another $500 million abroad would be a drop of around $58 million from the original after excluding the two MIA markets. It'd be another story if audiences didn't love the film, but the positive reception suggests that Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will outperform the legs on this year's earlier MCU titles (Multiverse of Madness and Love and Thunder had multipliers of 2.2 and 2.3 respectively).
As for the rest of the box office, there's little to get excited about, with nothing else grossing above $10 million as Hollywood shied away from releasing anything significant not just this weekend but also over the previous two weekends. When Black Panther opened in 2018, there was no counterprogramming that opened the same weekend, but Peter Rabbit and Fifty Shades Freed were in their second weekends and took second and third with $17.5 million and $17.3 million respectively. That weekend had an overall cume of $287 million compared to $208 million this weekend Take away the $22 million gap between the two Black Panther films and there's still a $57 million gap between the two weekends. The difference may not feel that large when a mega blockbuster is propping up the grosses, but the contrast is harsher when the mid-level films are the entire box office as we saw in recent months.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, which is the biggest grosser of the rough post-summer, pre-Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse season, came in second with just $8.6 million. Despite the blockbuster competition that arrived in its fourth weekend, the numbers didn't totally collapse, dropping 53 % for a cume of $151 million. Worldwide it is at $352 million, which isn't a great cume as the grosses start to wind down considering its $200 million budget. Still, it's the biggest of any film since Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, though Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will overtake it any day now.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse came in third place in its fourth weekend, down 29% with $6.1 million, emerging as one of the season's most durable grossers and one of the year's few bright spots when it comes to films for adults. The domestic cume is $56.5 million Fourth place went to Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile, which had a negligible drop of 5% for a $3.2 million sixth weekend and $40.8 million cume., in fact )
, which isn't surprising considering it's the only family film on the market, and it's Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse to grossing four times its $11.4 million opening. Still, the $72.6 million worldwide cume is soft given the $50 million budget , though a number of international markets have yet to open.
Finishing up the top five is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, which had its biggest weekend drop yet, falling 42% for a $2.3 million seventh weekend. Of course, that's no reason to frown for the horror film, which has a domestic cume of $103 million and global cume of $ 210 million from a budget of just $20 million. zg sdf

In ancient Kahndaq, Teth Adam bestowed the almighty powers of the gods. After using these powers for vengeance, he was imprisoned, becoming Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Nearly 5,000 years have passed, and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has gone from man to myth to legend. Production companies : Warner Bros. Pictures.
Maybe resetting' wasn't a good term.only
In addition to being Johnson's DC Universe debut, “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” is also notable for marking the return of Henry Cavill's Superman.
Of course, that's no reason to frown for the horror film, which has a domestic cume of $103 million and global cume of $ 210 million from a budget of just $20 million. allha vorasa

2023.06.04 23:05 DavidDrivez126 How different is the Australian experience from the American experience?

Good evening everyone, I’m a boat mechanic in Los Angeles, I’ve posted here a couple of times looking for advice about moving to Australia. I’m hoping to take my first trip there in time for the Aussie summer. But before all that, I’m wondering if you guys can give me some insight into how Australians handle the things that annoy me about the United States. As always thanks in advance for your help.
  1. Politics, I’m a centrist, one of the main reasons I want to leave the US is because I have no desire to see a Trump Biden rematch. In the US it feels like we get a choice between proud incompetence (Nithya Raman and all manner of ineffective progressive local democrats) or blatant hypocrisy/asshollery under a thin veil of moral superiority (our debt limit fight abortion and the fact that George Santos is still in power). All of this comes wrapped up in a bundle of civil unrest and mutual hostility. In an international context American politics are embarrassing. My question to you is, setting aside any ideological debates, are Australian politics as a whole any better? Are Australian politics more civil? Are Australian politicians any more effective?
  2. Dating; is notoriously brutal in Los Angeles. Mind games and superficiality run rampant. My best friend once said there’s no such thing as a single girl in Los Angeles and ghosting/inexplicably dropping out of a conversation is perfectly socially acceptable. It’s hell for people like me with social anxiety. Is dating culture any friendlier in Australia?
  3. Corruption; I’m a mechanic and my specialty is rapidly becoming undoing other mechanics hack jobs and informing owners that they’ve been scammed. Beyond mechanics, how is the proportion of honest business people to scammers in Australia? Are the scammers any easier or more difficult to spot?
I appreciate your help, guys, I’ve met a few Australians here in the US, and they have been wonderful ambassadors (this is the main inspiration for this whole idea). But before I do anything rash, I’d like to get a realistic picture of what life is like in your part of the world. PS, I know the visas will be tough and I can’t just move because I want to. I’ll be researching the marine mechanics market and potential sponsorship on my first trip out.

2023.06.04 23:04 JoshAsdvgi THE MAN AND THE OAK

THE MAN AND THE OAK

THE MAN AND THE OAK
There once lived a Sioux couple who had two children, a boy and a girl.
Every fall this family would move away from the main camp and take up their winter quarters in a grove of timber some distance from the principal village.
The reason they did this was that he was a great hunter and where a village was located for the winter the game was usually very scarce.
Therefore, he always camped by himself in order to have an abundance of game adjacent to his camp.
All summer he had roamed around following the tribe to wherever their fancy might take them.
During their travels this particular year there came to the village a strange girl who had no relatives there.
No one seemed very anxious to take her into their family, so the great hunter's daughter, taking a fancy to the poor girl, took her to their home and kept her.
She addressed her as sister, and the parents, on account of their daughter, addressed her as daughter.
This strange girl became desperately in love with the young man of the family, but being addressed as daughter by the parents, she could not openly show her feelings as the young man was considered her brother.
In the fall when the main village moved into a large belt of timber for their winter quarters, the hunter moved on to another place two days' travel from the main winter camp, where he would not be disturbed by any other hunters.
The young man had a tent by himself, and it was always kept nice and clean by his sister, who was very much attached to him.
After a long day's hunt in the woods, he would go into his tent and lie down to rest, and when his supper was ready his sister would say, "My brother is so tired.
I will carry his supper to him."
Her friend, whom she addressed as sister, would never go into the young man's tent.
Along towards spring there came one night into the young man's tent a woman.
She sat down by the door and kept her face covered so that it was hidden from view.
She sat there a long time and finally arose and went away.
The young man could not imagine who this could be.
He knew that it was a long distance from the village and could not make out where the woman could have come from.
The next night the woman came again and this time she came a little nearer to where the young man lay.
She sat down and kept her face covered as before.
Neither spoke a word. She sat there for a long time and then arose and departed.
He was very much puzzled over the actions of this woman and decided to ascertain on her next visit who she was.
He kindled a small fire in his tent and had some ash wood laid on it so as to keep fire a long time, as ash burns very slowly and holds fire a long time.
The third night the woman came again and sat down still nearer his bed.
She held her blanket open just a trifle, and he, catching up one of the embers, flashed it in her face; jumping up she ran hurriedly out of the tent.
The next morning he noticed that his adopted sister kept her face hidden with her blanket. She chanced to drop her blanket while in the act of pouring out some soup, and when she did so he noticed a large burned spot on her cheek.
He felt so sorry for what he had done that he could eat no breakfast, but went outside and lay down under an oak tree.
All day long he lay there gazing up into the tree, and when he was called for supper he refused, saying that he was not hungry, and for them not to bother him, as he would soon get up and go to bed.
Far into the night he lay thus, and when he tried to arise he could not, as a small oak tree grew through the center of his body and held him fast to the ground.
In the morning when the family awoke they found the girl had disappeared, and on going outside the sister discovered her brother held fast to the earth by an oak tree which grew very rapidly.
In vain were the best medicine men of the tribe sent for.
Their medicine was of no avail.
They said: "If the tree is cut down the young man will die."
The sister was wild with grief, and extending her hands to the sun, she cried: "Great Spirit, relieve my suffering brother.
Any one who releases him I will marry, be he young, old, homely or deformed."
Several days after the young man had met with the mishap, there came to the tent a very tall man, who had a bright light encircling his body.
"Where is the girl who promised to marry any one who would release her brother?"
"I am the one," said the young man's sister.
"I am the all-powerful lightning and thunder.
I see all things and can kill at one stroke a whole tribe.
When I make my voice heard the rocks shake loose and go rattling down the hillsides.
The brave warriors cower shivering under some shelter at the sound of my voice.
The girl whom you had adopted as your sister was a sorceress.
She bewitched your brother because he would not let her make love to him.
On my way here I met her traveling towards the west, and knowing what she had done, I struck her with one of my blazing swords, and she lies there now a heap of ashes.
I will now release your brother."
So saying he placed his hand on the tree and instantly it crumbled to ashes.
The young man arose, and thanked his deliverer.
Then they saw a great black cloud approaching, and the man said: "Make ready, we shall go home on that cloud."
As the cloud approached near to the man who stood with his bride, it suddenly lowered and enveloped them and with a great roar and amidst flashes of lightning and loud peals of thunder the girl ascended and disappeared into the west with her Thunder and Lightning husband.

When he looked back at canoe the bear was gone.
Bear looked back and saw the man up the tree.

Sometime he saw a canoe.
It belonged to the Land-Otters.
The Land-Otters had taken his brother, who had drowned, how long time ago.
He had turned into a Land-Otter.
The Land-Otter asked him: "Do you recognize me?"
"No!"
It was his brother who had turned into a Land-Otter.
"How long ago the Land-Otters got me!
I know what they do.
The Land-Otters are people."
The Land-Otter said: "Let's go home.
I'll take you home."
The man was scared.
The Land-Otter, took his brother on his back and took him into the water.
He didn't feel the water.
He saw everything under the water.
He didn't know how long, but his brother took him home and said: "Now you go ashore."
He saw his wife.
He killed his wife.
He eat her.
Then he went back to the Land-Otters' home.
He was a devil already.

Possessed 2020 Chevy Malibu
2020 Chevy Malibu, 46000 miles, 1.5L engine.
As the title says one day it was fine the next all the lights came on.
I get a call from my gf that her cars going crazy. Luckily she made it down the road to her work (not even 5 min away). I take a look and first thing I noticed is the car wouldn’t start. Kept pushing the button and all the sudden it starts. Then I see all the messages on the display and it says no gas. She filled up the day before. I try to turn it off and it wouldn’t turn off! Radio kept coming back on and it told me to put the car in park (it was). It eventually did thankfully.
I tried to see if it was still drivable but I barley made it 3 parking spots over. Brakes locked up on me.
I tested the battery at Autozone and it’s still good. Put it back in the car didn’t even secure the battery and it starts right up, no lights nothing. Completely fine. Makes it to our house on lunch and back to work. Then it does the same thing when she gets off work.
I had a buddy come look at it and ran through everything I said. Doesn’t want to turn on he hit the starter and it turned right on no lights come on everything’s fine again.
He thinks we need to replace the starter. That it’s not turning over and so the battery isn’t sending enough power to the rest of the car. I think he might be right but he doesn’t work on chevys and he said he can’t be 100% sure. I just wanted to see if anyone else has had this experience and if so was it the starter? Could it be the battery or a bad connection?
