2023.06.09 09:37 Global_Tree_Careers How to apply for New Zealand Student Visa

How to apply for New Zealand Student Visa
Introduction
The New Zealand Student Visa is a temporary visa for international students who are coming to New Zealand to study at a tertiary education institution. This guide will help you understand the application process and requirements of this visa so that you can apply smoothly.
https://preview.redd.it/s1chr4374y4b1.jpg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4cfd8a93a37deccfece8587b899d39a93bd52aa4
The application process
The application process is quite simple and straightforward. You can apply online or by post, but the latter option requires you to send your documents by post.
  • To apply online, you will need to pay an application fee of NZ$330 via credit card or bank account (there are no other payment options). If you choose not to pay this fee online, then there are several banks where it can be paid at a branch near you.
  • You will also need to submit some documents with your application: - Your passport photo page; - A copy of your passport; - Proof that you have enough money while studying in New Zealand; - Two letters of recommendation from previous employers/teachers/professors who know about your academic achievements; - Proof that there is space available on the course(s) that interest them;
(Read more: Top Universities for Study in New Zealand)

  • be aged 18 years or older at the time of applying; and
  • Meet certain health requirements including having no medical condition that could put others at risk if they came into contact with you (such as tuberculosis)

New Zealand Student Visa fees
The New Zealand Student Visa fees are different for every country, education level, and application type. If you want to apply for a New Zealand Student Visa, you must pay the correct amount of money depending on these factors:
  • The country you are applying from (New Zealand is a member state of the Commonwealth so there is no extra charge)
  • The level of study and program length that you wish to enroll in (full-time or part-time)
New Zealand Student Visa processing time
The New Zealand Student Visa processing time is 6-8 weeks, but this does not guarantee that you will receive your visa within that time frame. Processing times can vary depending on the visa type and whether or not you have any supporting documents to submit with your application. Some visas take longer than others, so if you are applying for a specific course or program at an institution in New Zealand, it's best to check their website for information about processing times before applying.
How to fill out New Zealand Student Visa application form
  • Fill out the form as accurately as possible.
  • Make sure you have all the documents required.
  • Make sure you have filled out all the fields.
  • Make sure you have attached all the documents, including passport photos and fee receipt, to your application form before submitting it online or by post to a New Zealand embassy or consulate in your home country.*

2023.06.09 02:15 EqualTradition9708 Are internal or external HDD better for long term cold storage.

So recently I decided to put all my photos and videos on a single drive for ease of viewing and decided to get a 2 tb HDD but when checking prices an enclosure + internal hard drive costs about the same as an external hard drive, so I was wondering which would be safer to leave it for a long time untouched especially since I've had some bad experiences with WD's my passport which died without being used much.

i slightly smiled in my passport photo, is it possible to change my picture (from england), if so, should i?
sorry the image isn't very clear!
i use this picture for most of my ids (prov drivers license, student bus pass and passport). it's a very subtle smile but you can definitely tell it's there, there's also other things, the shadows on my face, my wet hair, idk i just feel it needs to be redone professionally instead of by my mum when im just fresh out of the shower :') im also going away soon without my parents and im worried ill get pulled aside for not being recognised or something 😭 im so paranoid because of that slight smile omg
can you change your pictures in your passport? mine is about a year old now so idk if it's possible? im from the UK (England) btw!

2023.06.08 23:40 OldManKiK Zalo Verify

I've been in and out of Vietnam quite a bit over the past year for work. I've been using Zalo to communicate to my driver and team members when I'm back at my apartment / out of the office (I don't have Facebook, so this was a good alternative while out here).
Unfortunately, I had to replace my phone last time and Zalo put me through some loops to basically "re authenticate" me by having someone already in my Zalo contacts confirm it's me. Naturally, that happened a few days before I flew back out here, so I was unable to get in touch with anyone when I landed (didn't realize this was needed until I landed). I eventually got hold of someone and they did the in-person verification.
However, ever since then, the Zalo app keeps telling me I need to "verify" my account. It has an option to upload a photo of your passport but it doesn't seem to like an American passport. Do I need to verify? How do I do this? Anyone have experience making it work?
I tried to chat with Zalo support but they only would message me in Vietnamese. I really only use this to keep in touch with my team, does verify even matter?

2023.06.08 22:51 Aleffante UPDATE Found kitten - please advise

Hello all! I have an update on the lost kitten.
Update on update: they sent me a video now that shows a cat like the one we found, who does not seem to react to sound, so I am a bit more reassured that it is her.
I was contacted by a person who saw one of our flyers claiming it's their mother in law's cat. When I asked the person for proof (I asked a photo of passport or a paper from the vet) they got really angry and started threatening with police. It was very unpleasant and unwarranted for, as I did not even say anything about not returning the cat, and only asked for any kind of official proof... They sent me some pictures as "proof" - picture of her as a baby (she looks like any white kitten with blue eyes..), and pictures of her mother and her brother, but not her, claiming they don't take pictures often so they don't have any recent ones (they sent me the email from an iPhone, so they do have a tool to take pictures). The irony is that they are threatening with legal procedures as well. Like... What?
So basically this cat has no chip, no other proof that it is their cat but their mother's picture (which does look a lot like her) and the time frame of her loss which coincides with the time we started seeing her in our area.
Anyway I just wanted to vent after this extremely negative experience. We will return the cat back tomorrow and a meeting is set, but all this leaves a sour taste in my mouth and the rudeness was unwarranted. And I really hope this is not some sort of illegal breeding scheme... I don't even know if the brother is castrated. 😔 And I feel pretty helpless in the situation.

2023.06.08 22:13 anteatertrashbin Step by Step Cheat Sheet for NALCAP - Let's collaborate and make a PPT or Word Doc to save year 2025 AUX'es some headache!

Hi fellow AUX'es! I want to create a cheat sheet outlining the steps need after you accept your placement. Are any of you interesting in helping me create a step by step cheat sheet? Here is what I have roughly laid out. What am I missing? What should I add? What is incorrect?
Keep in mind that I am a first year and this whole thing is new to me as well. So I don't reinvent the wheel, this not been done yet?

  1. Accept your regional placement so your Tramites is "Plaza Aceptada" in PROFEX.
  2. Wait for Letter of Acceptance (Carta de Nombramiento) and pick my school inside Andalucia.
  3. Get FBI background check & fingerprints. Get completed FBI background check apostilled from US State Dept.
  4. Go to my local Spanish consulate and hand over the following: -My actual passport?? -Passport sized photo -Carta de nombramiento (Letter of acceptance from my spanish school) -Apolstilled FBI background check (don't remove the staples!) -Medical certificate with your doctors stamp and signature (use the Spanish template so you don't have to translate it) -Your ID showing that you belong to that Spanish consulate's geographic area in the USA
  5. In 2 weeks to 2 months I get my passport back from my US based Spanish consulate with my student visa inside of it?
  6. Start looking for a place to live from the USA near your school. Once you get to spain you will need to get settled and go to your school. You will have been in contact with them this whole time already.
  7. Go to Spain and within 1 month get my TIE card at a police station? or “Oficina de Extranjería” (what is this?)
Is this roughly the gist of it? I and finding this whole process very confusing and I have 10 different windows open trying to navigate this. I would like to come up with a word doc or PPT that has all of this info condensed in an easy to digest format. I want to share this with the community so that maybe NEXT year's incoming freshmen class can have a easier to follow guide.

2023.06.08 20:51 tocruise What exactly do you need to take to a passport appointment?

I finally got my Naturalization certificate a few months ago and I'd now like to get my US Passport.
I've been reading the state.gov passport website and trying to make sense of what exactly is required because the evidence seems contradictary in a few places...
There are even many more examples, but I'm sure you get the idea. That website is a mess and it doesn't really make clear what is needed.
If it makes any difference, I'm going in for the actual appointment at a USPS office nearby rather than sending it all in.
What did all of you guys send in/take to your appointment? I'm thinking I just take my Naturlization certificate, plus a copy of it, my birth certificate, plus a copy of it, my marriage certficiate, plus a copy, my driver's license, plus a copy, and a completed DS-11 Application. (I can get my photos done on site apparently so I don't need to take those)
Any help is going to be hugely appreciative because I'm very lost! haha.

So are we not allowed to help people photo copy their IDs for their passports and stuff? Just confusing bc at my store everyone has said no so I just go along with it... But I noticed that a lot of the customers say they need a photocopy, black and white of their IDs and I'm not too certain how to help them lol Even online says they do and so I don't see why they can't do that while they are here getting their passport photo taken as well? 2023.06.08 18:22 Spinjitsuninja Can someone please help? PayPal suddenly won't let me transfer money to the bank unless I'm verified, but I don't have ID I can provide.

Long story short, I'm a US resident and my passport expired recently. I've been using PayPal with a valid debut card thougy, and I HAVE transferred money before, but now it's saying I apparently need to "verify" my account with photo ID, which doesn't exist. (I don't have a driver's license, no passport...)
I don't know what to do. I looked it up and an expired passport won't work. Is my money stuck in limbo...? Would it be possible to send the card info to someone else, send the money to them, and have them transfer it? Is there another way to get verified?
If anyone can help that'd be REALLY appreciated, this has been really stressful haha...

2023.06.08 15:25 AaveTriage Getting Started Digital Scrapbooking?

Hey folks! So, I love scrapbooking but it’s always a process to get started - select the photos I want to have printed, get them printed (I don’t own a printer so it means a trip to CVS or Walgreens), go pick said photos up, etc. consequently I don’t do it very much and have a huge backlog.
But I’ve heard some people digitally scrapbook, and I was wondering what people suggest to get started, or what resources they look at while doing it?
I’m a graphic designer, so my first thought would be to use programs like InDesign or Photoshop, but for me that starts turning into work-work versus a hobby and requires basically generating all my own assets (patterns, “washi tape” style graphics, etc.) unless I buy or download and convert preexisting assets.
The other question is, for people who virtually scrapbook, do you eventually print it? If so, what sites/services do you recommend?

2023.06.08 11:37 Budget-Wallaby3622 In-Depth Guide to Momoclo Tickets

In-Depth Guide to Momoclo Tickets
Recently, I have come the realization that there are essentially no online resources for Western Fans about Momoclo Concerts and Concert Tickets. This combined with the fact that getting Momoclo tickets is ridiculously hard, even for Japanese fans, pushed me to make my own guide on how to procure concert tickets as of 2023. I will be making another guide for what to expect from your first Momoclo Concert later on.
Step 0: To begin you will first need an Angel Eyes (AE) Membership, which instructions to join can be found here. The first time yearly membership fee is around $47 with subsequent years costing around $33 to renew.
Now we can actually begin the process to get tickets.
Step 1: Go To This Website using Google Chrome, and turn on the Google Translate Extension to help navigate the site. Google Translate Is Your Best Friend.
Step 2: Make sure the site's Home Page looks something like what's below. This is important as we will be returning to it quite a few times.
Site With Google Translate Extension On
Step 3: Click On "Login" and login with your Angel Eyes Account
Login Screen
Step 4: Verify your Email with the link they send you via email
Verification Email
Step 5: Return to the Home page and Click on "My Page," then enter your credit card information and upload a picture of your face for photo ID registration. It will take a little bit for them to approve your photo ID, but you can still apply for tickets when your photo ID is still pending. In the picture below, I already completed the photo ID registration which is why it says "OK."
Mandatory Items shown with Arrows
Step 6: Return to the Home Page and Click on "Reception List" to see the Concerts available for lottery application. Because Momoclo is so popular, concert tickets must be won in a ticket lottery. In addition, these lotteries are usually only open for 3 days, months before the concert. In the picture below, the lottery was open from May 19-22, when the first concert is in July. If the lottery is open, the grey box pictured below that says "End of Reception," will instead be red, and say something along the lines of "Accepting Applications." You can also check when the lotteries are open by following this Twitter account which announces when the lotteries open. (it’s in Japanese but if you use Twitter’s translate feature you’ll be fine)
Reception List as of June 8 2023
Step 7: Click on "Reception Details" then scroll down all the way until the concert dates show up.
15th Anniversary Tour Concert Dates
Step 8: Click on "Application/ Performance Details" for the preferred concert date and proceed to select seating preferences. You are able to apply for up to 2 tickets with one Angel Eyes membership, allowing you to bring along one friend. Do not select family seating as it is only for people with children. Due to translation error, you will actually have to turn off google translate for this step. The option that says 「指定席」is a reserved spot, while the option that says 「着席指定席」is a reserved spot that is SEATED. If you do not care, then you do not need to turn off Google Translate. Just make sure you do not select "Family Seat" as one of your preferences. Once confirming your preferences, you are all done with the hard work.
Step 9: Check email for lottery admission confirmation.
Admission Confirmation
Step 10: Pray and wait a few days for the lottery results. An email will be sent out informing you if you won tickets or not. You can also check by returning to the home page and clicking "My Page" then "Application History List." Because we already put in our credit card information during the 5th step, it will auto charge and you won't have to worry about putting in your credit card information at that moment.
Email announcing lottery results
Step 11: Plan Travel to the Concert Site and You're all set!
Important Notes: When purchasing tickets in this way, no ticket will be sent out in any form before the concert. You will receive tickets on the day of the concert by scanning your AE IC Membership card, which will be sent to you in the mail after you join AE. If you do not have your AE IC Card, whether it be it never arrived or you lost it, you must bring a valid form of identification, such as a passport or a drivers license in order to receive tickets.
