I've recently built a full custom Hi Capa without the use of a base gun and am having some issues with feeding. I cannot for the life of me get this thing to cycle consistently, I'm using TM mags and have had no luck with normal green gas or an HPA setup. Originally, I was completely convinced that the issue was entirely related to light striking, but after some further troubleshooting, I am not so sure. Some things to note:
1) When the malfunction occurs, the blowback sound is noticeably "lighter". Visually, it looks like the slide comes back the same distance which should allow it to chamber a BB, but it's hard to tell. 2) When I rack the slide by hand, the gun never fails to shoot or load the BB. The malfunction only occurs as a result of the blowback action.
3) I'm using a cowcow hammer regulator kit, and I've tried pretty much every possible configuration. Interestingly, if I use the heaviest spring with as much tension as I can get while still being able to mount it to the grip this issue is not present, instead the BB will get stuck in the hop up unit and will have to be shot several times in order to launch it. I believe this is due to excessive hammer force causing the nozzle to return too fast and too hard pushing the BB too far into the hopup to be properly shot.
At first, I assumed the short gas cutoff on my BBU was the culprit, but I switched to the standard version and it did not fix the problem. Now, I suspect the nozzle configuration is at fault but am not sure. Compression between the nozzle and barrel seems excellent, which I believe might be contributing to the problem as the slide has to reciprocate fairly far back before the nozzle will actually "unstick" from the barrel and be able to chamber another bb. I'm not really sure where to go from here, so if you guys had any ideas or tests I could try then I would be very thankful!
